Ordered the Thai boat noodle, grilled pork papaya salad, red beef curry, and chicken drunken noodles all made to be mildly spicy. The food was so good I forgot to take pictures of the rest of the food and went straight to eating lol. Food is very authentic and the flavors definitely brought back the tastes of being in Thailand. Friendly staff and very attentive. My drink was always full and I didn't have to ask for my drink to be refilled. This Thai food restaurant sits in the middle of a nail shop and 2 other food establishments. They are CASH ONLY, but you can order thru Yelp thru grubhub and place a pickup or delivery order. I used to like this place a very long time ago. Just a hole in the wall with authentic and tasty Thai food. On my most recent visit here, I ordered baby corn and mushrooms with ground chicken, crispy pork and Chinese broccoli and Thai tea. The crispy pork was inedible and overcooked and chewy. They didn't add any chilis like before and didn't ask the spice level I wanted. They overcharged for the baby corn dish and it didn't even taste that good. This is a small, family spot. One of those hidden places that's amazing. Food is always fresh and good. Service is always good and everything there is so nice. We always come here and know what to expect and it's always amazing. If there's ever a mistake, I know they will fix it right away without hesitating but there's never a problem for us. Been to this location a couple times and have never had an issue. The food has great flavor but some of the dishes with protein can use a more generous portion. My last visit the service was extremely horrible, hence the reason for the low stars. The young employee working in the front is extremely rude and not customer service oriented at all. Merely asked her a question about size differences with the soups and instead of showing me she just said one's bigger than the other. I proceeded to ask her if she could show me the actual size difference since I was taking the food to go and she seemed super bothered. She told me to have a seat. If I wasn't paying attention she would have never told me that my food was ready. She placed my food on the counter and then started putting stuff around the counter away. It wasn't until I walked up and asked if it was ready and she didn't even bother looking. I said thank you and she didn't say anything. Our go to thai spot on the north side of LB! Complimentary to the chef at this little gem. The flavors are authentic and you can definitely taste the fresh hot off the wok taste and smell. My favorite go to for noodle soup is their spicy tom yum noodle soup (spicy noodle)I always order this at other thai restaurants but they do not make it like this place. Hands down the best thus far! This place is HEAVEN sent. A hidden treasure in a secret cave. I have been living around my whole life and never discovered this place till one day we decided to try it and oh my God, who has been hiding this secret to satisfy my taste buds all this time?! I crave this place often, it's lowkey a bit of a problem. The staff feels very family oriented and tight knit which in turn feels like I am going to someone's house to enjoy a nice bowl of soup. If you want hair in your food come here. Ordered $128 worth of food to have not just 1, but 2 hairs in 2 separate entrees!!! Owner had the audacity to only refund us half the price of both the dishes ($17). Would've been happy with refunding the total cost of the 2 entrees with the hair in them. All the proof has been posted. We're not trying to scam the owner for a free meal. Picture of all the food returned to the store, receipt of how much they gave us back, proof of how much money given back, and hair. Only have one picture of the hair, cause we were going to let the first hair slide and threw it away, because things happen. But 2 hairs in 2 separate entrees is unacceptable. A couple of days ago, I went in and ordered the usual- Thai boat noodle soup and Beef Curry Noodle Soup- to go. The boat noodle soup tasted off. It wasn't as flavorful as it usually is. Seemed to be missing some ingredients. Also, it no longer HAD ANY LIVER. Which it usually does. The price is now about $16- the price has gone up and it's missing ingredients...doesn't sit with me very well. The Beef curry soup was good when I took it home- but it gave me a stomach ache. Where I sat to wait for my food; I had a clear view of the chef/kitchen prepping the food. I saw something unhygienic by the chef before she started cooking; since she didn't put on gloves or washed her hands, I brought it up to their attention. Long story short they denied it and I was uncomfortable eating it so we settled on a refund. Its important to note that because it was a to-go order, the amount of time the noodles were in a container while hot could have contributed to the noodle texture. The noodles were soggy and ended up being mashed into one another by the time I dug in. The flavor wasn't great. I think it could have used more of the oyster or soy sauce that is usually used in the sauce recipe. They also used chard and broccoli for their veggies of choice. I've had broccoli before but chard was new, and I wasn't a fan. I don't think it paired well with the dish and they were pretty huge pieces that I think could have benefitted from being cut up. The amount of noodles you get for the price is a good portion. It's unfortunate that the flavor didn't meet expectations though. read more

CASH ONLY. As of now, this is the closest place to get Thai Boat noodles from where I stay. Normally, my husband and I would prefer to go to LB Thai, but when we don't want to make that drive, we go here. The broth for the Thai Boat is always thick, rich, and full of flavor. I wasn't a big fan of their Hainan Chicken, which they only serve on certain days, but their Rad Na was pretty good. Super saucy with their gravy, but flavorful, nonethless. The pricing is pretty steep here for the serving size that you get. I felt like my plate of Rad Na didn't have too many noodles as I'd normally get elsewhere, but it felt like more veggies instead. I didn't really feel full after my meal, but it was fine. I wasn't trying to feel super stuffed either, I guess. But this is the place you want to go in the north for Thai Boat cravings. Get the pad krapow gai. There's actually nothing better than putting your fork over the top of the egg, and watching the yellow yolk run down through the rice and chicken. The umami and sweetness of the dish is amazing, I'm guessing the trifecta of soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sugar does the trick. Then the basil, garlic, and peppers cut through to give you a little zing. Sizzling Wok always has nice staff. They're quick with filling up water, and friendly. My favorite is the waitress was taking our group's drink order. One out of 7 of us got a thai iced tea. She asked again if anyone else wanted one... and then 2 more of us cracked and got one. Pretty authentic thai food, 4/5 stars from my Thai BF. He was craving Kao Moo Dang and this was the only spot we saw that had it. We only ordered 3 dishes but they were all good! Kao Moo Dang - charsu was a bit dry, they were light on the chinese sausage, the pork belly was very crispy though. The sauces and gravy were great. He was very happy to have this home-y dish. Tom Kah Gai - This hot, sour, and a little spicy coconut soup with chicken was great. The chicken was dry, but that happens in to-go orders with soup. If I was dining in I would have gotten shrimp or something but that would be worse driving home! I really enjoyed the soup and I had enough for the next day. Chinese broccoli with crispy pork - I wanted on choy aka water spinach but they did not have any that day. So I settled for this veggie dish. Usually I don't love all the stalk of Chinese broccoli but they sliced them thin and they didn't include the chewy bits. It was all crisp and delicious. The crispy pork was crispy even after my drive home. They also included a small scoop of rice which I appreciated since I was going to cook some rice at home to eat with my soup/veggie.
