BUYER BEWARe!! This place overcharged me $20. The cashier charged my debit card three times & refused to explain why. When I went back & spoke to the manager the cashier took my original receipts & refused to give them back. I was charged 126.00 for inspection, & wind shield wiper blades. Then another $28 and $20. I showed the manager my bank statement which showed I was overcharged $20 and only refunded $28. The manager told me "you don't know how to do math." This place is horrible. read more

Bill at Kamp Washington is HONEST. I brought my vehicle for repair and he pointed out that the part that needed to be replaced had already been replaced at some point. I went home, dug through my records, and saw that indeed, I had that same repair done by a different mechanic and I was likely under warranty. I picked up my car and took it to the other shop where they went ahead and completed the repair for $0 as I was under warranty. Thanks to Bill's honesty I saved quite a bit of money. I absolutely recommend Bill and this shop! I've also had other repairs done at this location and Bill and his team provide competitive pricing and quick service. I don't really take pride in writing terrible reviews, but this one needs to be mentioned. My vehicle broke down a few months ago, and my stepfather suggested that I get my fuel filter and pump changed at this location. So, I dropped off the vehicle and they told me that it would be finished by the next day. The next afternoon, I had a message on my answering machine from the gas station. So, I called the number, told the gentleman my name and vehicle, and he replied with, "What do you want?" From the beginning, the customer service was almost non-existent. And there was hardly any organization whatsoever. When the head mechanic isn't there, no one really knows of what is going on. After working on my car, I picked it up. And the next day, my car broke down again. I took it back to the shop so they could look at the car again, and after two days- they told me that the car was completely fine. And of course, the next day my car wouldn't even start. I ended up taking it to another shop that was able to fix it easily. I was just really disappointed in the lack of service from this auto shop. My bill was $800 for something that ultimately did not fix the problem, I received poor customer service from the employees, and it just caused a lot of unneeded frustration. So, if you do go there and you don't have any issues, great. But if you do go and you do have issues, don't say that I didn't warn you. read more

Gas buyers beware: Writing this to keep you from experiencing the same thing -- this station puts a $99 hold on your credit card when you buy gas. I called to ask why I was charged $99 for my $30 tank, and they said, "Oh don't worry; that will be changed in a few days. Just check back with your credit card." "If you want, you can fax us the statement." What?! Not only did I pay more for gas here than the market rate (it was pouring rain), but they wasted the time it took to check with them and dispute the charge. read more

My expereience with Kamp Washington Shell started out great but went downhill quick. When the current owner bought the place several years ago he really provided great service to the locals. That is, until they started doing car repair for the dealer a block away. The locals defiinitely took a back seat to the dealer. I took my car in for a repair and it was in and out for about 7 weeks and $700 and the repair was never made correctly. I finally did the repair myself....CORRECTLY. I took my business to them to avoid the hassle of doing the repair myself. If you want something done right, do it yourself. This place is not a total bust though. The Va State and Emissions inspector is nice and very fair. He inspects your car with safety in mind. I have been to other places that inspect your car looking for things to fix. Overall, I would say the attention to detail has caused this business to suffer. I will not return unless thing change back to the way they were when he first bought the business. read more

Ok. So I went here because one of my good Friends suggested that I go here for my Oil Change. So I get there about 12:20pm (on my lunch break). The Oil change was done in like 10 minutes. The Owner comes and tell me that I need my timing belt changed. So he gives me a reasonably price and I ask him how long is it going to take, hes says 45 mins. I'm like ok, I'll go get something to eat @ this time its like 12:45 so I come back in like 45 minutes not done.Ok. so I ask him how much longer he tell mes 20 mins. To make a long story short I dodnt leave there until 5:00pm. No one came up to me and said nothing. It wasnt until I asked for the District Managgers number that he thought something was wrong. Terrible Customer Service. I was so disappointed. I will never go back. Not even for gas. read more

Short version: Kamp Washington Shell charged me over $800 for an alternator because my car wouldn't start. A month later, it's dead again. They originally told me it was the alternator, and that they could do the job for around $550. Although that was pretty high, I told them to go ahead. When I picked the car up, though, I was handed a bill for $832. Needless to say, I expressed some unhappiness. The clerk couldn't get the service manager to help me, but he promised to have the service manager call me. Of course, that didn't happen. I called the service manager and told him I needed him to reduce the bill by $200. He bargained me down to a $150 reduction and a free "check" to make sure the car was working okay. A technician gave me a vague assurance that things were working fine, even though the amperage was slightly under what it should have been. Over the next few weeks, the car gradually began starting more slowly. Then yesterday, it just didn't start at all. I tried it again when the weather warmed up a bit...still nothing. When I told the tow-truck driver where I'd had it fixed, he gave me the classic sad, slow head shake...perhaps I'm not the only one who's had a bad experience. I'm tempted to have the car towed back to them and demand they fix it, correctly this time, for free. But when it comes down to it, I have absolutely no faith in their competence or their honesty. read more

I came here to get my VA safety inspection as I've done in the past but had issues with my rear brakes. Needed to get them replaced so one of their guys quoted me a price. Before he did though, he noticed I had just had my front brakes replaced so he asked how much I paid for the fronts. He actually matched it but the place I went to for the front brakes was offering a $75 discount if I did the rear brakes within the next couple of days. I asked if they would match the discount and after some back and forth, they agreed plus said they would use BMW OE parts. So for the convenience and cost I moved forward. He said it would take about an hour but actually due to how busy they were, it was about 3 1/2 hours. Wasn't an issue for me as I don't live far from this place. Overall, the work was good and I got a great price, so I'm happy. I had to get additional service done but chose to go elsewhere as pricing for other stuff was higher than several other places I called. While the guys are good mechanics there, I feel their bandwidth isn't that much so it takes longer to get work done. For the emissions and safety inspections, I find this place has the shortest wait of other places around the area. I've been going here for the last couple of years for that and will definitely continue to do so. read more

I found this is a place that does honest work, i have a Nissan Xterra they did an excellent job repairing my truck, I brought my truck from Carmax,, they couldn't fix the issue after three tries. They kept me up to date, and didn't try to add additional work.
