Three years and counting...and still, a 5-star rating. I've mostly come here for my oil change, omissions and safety test and the service was and still is excellent. I have not used their other services - so I cannot speak to that - but I assume their consistency and reliability holds throughout. I especially like and appreciate both Adi who is thorough, professional, and prompt and the manager, Edward who is great (even with questions on the phone). After getting gas the shifter stuck in PARK. A mechanic named Mel came out and looked up how to release the system to change gears. He also found that the linkage to the gear shifter was broken which he was able to rewire for a temporary repair. Mel said to bring it back on Monday for repair. Great Knowledgeable Service. I went to Sunoco the other day to have some stuff done. Regular stuff like an oil change. Nothing to big or complicated. I dropped the car off and went into work. I've done this times. Last year they charged me $6 to call me to tell me my car was ready. This year they charged me $11. Talk about a total scam. They charged me $11 for a phone call that lasted less than a minute. Talk about gouging. If they're will to do that to people, who knows what they are doing to your car. I'm never going back to them again. read more

I have never really left a Yelp review but I feel compelled to do so today! The guys at this gas station are absolutely nice and helpful. I forgot to get my emissions test and figured I would call and leave my car over to get it fixed. I called ahead to ensure a spot was open and was politely told that, while the slots fill fast to just come as soon as possible in my break and they'd do their best. I got there and not only did the guy I spoke to know exactly who I was, he told me to not go to far he'd have me in and out in 15. Sure enough, I return, my car was serviced and the guys had a smile for me! I was expecting a wait, because they do always have a lot of customers. I've gone to Sunoco at South Lakes for years. I found them to reliable and honest. I use them and recommend them to others. BTW: I asked for a donation for my daughter's elementary and and middle school in Reston. I help food programs provide food to low-income students on the weekends. Both years that I asked, the local corporate office donated $500 each year. That was more money than I received from other businesses and I appreciated their generosity for this important program. read more

The garage is great, never had a problem, friendly honest guys and solid work. The review is for the gas station, specifically the pumps. I am almost certain that the management is artificially constraining gas flow to force consumers to sit in front of the pump TVs throwing ads in your face while you pump gas. Annoying to say the least, and insulting. Ads are fine, but forcing me to sit at the pump 3 to 4 times as long? Come on. If this keeps up, I'm taking my business elsewhere. Our longtime loyalty has been tested. In the last year, given symptoms they have totally missed a major repair (tie rod). During routine oil change (love their coupons), said trans fluid needed replacing only after a year. On my own inspection, fluid color was still fine. Inspection included correct tire inflation but minutes after leaving, my low tire pressure light came on so had to go back as they obviously did not do that part of the inspection. Will use for routine oil inspections & safety inspections but anything beyond that, will seek repairs elsewhere. Convenience store and employees, great. Garage/state inspection and emissions, Bad. 2 weeks ago, took in my Jeep for VA inspections...emissions failed and they proposed and I agreed they would order parts & a couple days later I brought back the Jeep and fixed the issue. Before driving away, cashier told me to come back within 14 days for free re-test. Everything good up to this point. I went today and was told I was outside the 2 weeks and they were charging for a retest. Mechanic told me the 14 day clock started when it failed, which is different than what the cashier told me when I paid for work. I told the mechanic the cashier communicated something different, he made it clear he wanted the $28, and there wasn't going to be a discussion. Bummer cuz it's right around the corner from where I live, and thought it would be cool to have "neighborhood trustworthy garage". Nope. I won't be back - feels like I got punked. It's not a cheap garage either. Don't hope for favorable pricing. The work they did was good. But the experience inspired me to leave my first negative rating. Cuz I'd want to know. read more

This gas station sucks. I have been going to this gas station out of convenience--it's right next to my old house--for over 6 years now and have spent a LOT of money here...on gas, snacks, breakfast stuff, drinks, and even having work done on my car or inspections (my family has as well). After all this time of being a loyal and regular customer, one of the employees treated me like a criminal for taking some creamers with me whenever I bought my iced teas. She confronted me one day as I was leaving and grabbing a handful, telling me the creamers are not for me but for people who buy coffee. Seriously?! With ALL the money I spend in this gas station, I'm not allowed to use creamer in the drinks I spend money on in the store that aren't their shitty coffee? The drinks I was buying cost more than their stupid coffee in the first place! When I explained to this woman that I put the creamers in the tea I buy, she still argued with me over it--I told her I was really surprised she was treating me that way considering the amount of money I spend in her store and have for years, and she replied "not that much money!" That's all I need to know--if this place doesn't appreciate my business, I'll go spend my money somewhere that does! I used to go here to get my oil changed every 3000-4000 miles and a few minor repairs here and there. But I recently had a bad experience that makes me wonder why I continued going there. A couple weeks ago, they replaced my battery. Price was reasonable and I was happy with the experience. The next day I noticed that my A/C wasn't working anymore- it was blowing, but not A/C type cold. I took it back to this place and told them that my A/C wasn't working. They said they would look at it. I made an offhand remark about how it was a coincidence that it stopped working after my battery was replaced. Now, several other people have told me that it is very unlikely that replacing a battery would cause the A/C to stop working so even when I said it, I just said it matter of factly. There was no accusatory tone at all in how I said it. Well, the service guy went off for the next minute or so saying that there was absolutely no connection, that he was 99% positive that the battery replacement was not the problem, blah, blah, blah. He was very defensive and his tone was very off-putting. I left the car with them and thought nothing of it really. Couple hours later, they called me to tell me to pick up the car, that the A/C was working fine and "blowing cold." They didn't do anything to the car. When I got there, the service guy was busy with someone else but he barely even looked at me and when the time came, motioned for the mechanic to show me that the A/C, was indeed working fine. While I sat in the car with the air blowing full blast, the mechanic stood outside and tried to convince me that the A/C had been working fine all along. I gave up and took it to the dealer a couple days later and they replaced the freon. That's all it was, a simple freon refill. The only conclusion I could come up with was that they didn't want my business anymore. Well, I'm more than happy to grant them their wish. read more

The old man told me that they don't give away matches, and force me to buy a lighter, also told me only old man use matches. One time I came here to try and get an oil change but the guy just sat there and sighed and angrily told me they don't accept the type of card I have. And if you question him he rudely hangs up on you after telling you that there is no one else to speak to--only him no supervisor no manager!!
