Showed up at 5:15 for an emissions test and was told the inspector was done for the day, even though hours state inspections until 6pm. I understand if I showed up and other cars were waiting, but there was nobody there and an emissions test would've taken less than 45m. If you show up to my place of business you'd expect better, so be better. read more

This is my go-to-place for all of our automotive repairs. Few days ago I came after hours and needed some help with our Jetta tires. Charlie was there and spent 15 minutes with us; first finding a nail in one of the tires, then carefully removing it and finally inflating all tires making sure the pressure is correct. Charlie took his time to explain effects of high temperature on tire pressure and all in all was patient and kind. He wasn't willing to take any money for his service. Don't get an state inspection here. The guy is a scam artist. He failed multiple people for tire tread by 10am and said I too needed new tires. Since my tires were less than a year old I was skeptical. He said the tire was at 2 and that was failing the car. (Per Virginia inspection standards anything less than 2 fails). I happen to have a tire gauge so I asked him to show me where he measured. He got in a huff and said "fine since that one is at 3 I'll pass you". Set aside the ethical question of passing me for a different tire. When I measured the first tire I was at 5. The second tire was at 6. So either this guy doesn't know how to use a tire gauge or he was trying to hustle me for new tires. He failed me for my other cars tires the year before and I bought 4 new tires and had him install them. During which he broke a $500 tire pressure sensor. I didn't consider measuring my own tires until he tried to pull the same scam on me two years in a row. read more

Literally one of the best shops I've ever let touch my car. I can't stress enough how satisfied I am with the service that was provided. Albeit it was very minor they were able to get a set of (4) low profile tires mounted on my black wheels without making a single scratch on the wheels themselves and did the service within about an hour of me dropping it off despite me telling them that there was no rush. I had two new tires mounted and balance at a different shop near me, and after two attempts to get my Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 4s balanced, the steering wheel still shook above 50mph. Tire Rack suggested Great Falls Exxon to get it right, as they have had excellent reviews and had experience mounting and balancing tires on Bentleys, Lamborghinis, Ford GTs etc.. Had new wheels and tires put on my 2017 Sierra. I was going to go with Nittos but upon recommendations from Great Falls Exxon I went with BFGs. So glad I did. They got everything set up, the TPMS sensors moved over and programmed, and helped me find hub rings of the correct size and even replaced the lug nuts that were shipped with the wheels that didn't fit. Both times, the services were quick & easy. Tofun (General Manager) helped me & was very informative/helpful & also quite funny! He informed me what exactly would be done to my car & current/future suggestions of service & was never pushy of any unnecessary services. They also perform a courtesy check of your car which is texted to your mobile phone with information of the current condition of your car & services that might be needed soon or at the moment. The gas station is located right in a shopping plaza with a few more surrounding it, so there's plenty options whether you want to eat or shop while you wait. All the staff is friendly compared to other gas stations/auto shops. It does seem to always be busy, so call & try to get an appointment beforehand! This shop has consistently been taking care of my car, as well as the cars in my entire family for years now. For the last several years, since we moved, we willingly make the hour or so commute. That being said, it's just so nice to not be screwed by a mechanic that knows drastically more than I do about my vehicle. My car is twelve years old, give or take, with 280 some-odd thousand miles. 28 December, 2018 I jammed in there at noon today without an appointment to have the snow tires put on. I also gave then some sad eyes because I needed my car inspected, too. They told me they might be able to get it done by the end of the day, but might need to hold the car overnight. Okay, so they called at 3:30PM and told me the car was done. Brilliant. Exceeded expectations. All with a smile. They do service cars, but more important, they build customer relationships. Stand in the waiting area for awhile and you'll see it. I'm saddened by my family's recent experience at Great Falls Exxon as I have been bringing vehicles here mostly for inspections and tire installations for many years. My son who is in his early twenties brought his car to have tires purchased from Tire Rack installed last week. After waiting for what he felt was an unusually long time, he went to retrieve his vehicle. He was told by the man at the cash register (whose name I did not get but I would love to splash it all over the Internet) that they were done with his car but they couldn't find his key and they weren't sure where his car was. He located his own car in an adjacent parking lot but there was no key in it. He went back and demanded his key only to have the attendant basically throw it at him! To add insult to injury they screwed up the tire pressure sensors on his wheels so now he has a warning light on and another issue to go deal with. My son was trying to get this repair completed so he could pack up his car and return to college that day. He was in a time crunch and the thoughtlessness and attitude he received is infuriating. If you don't want to be an installer for Tire Rack there is a very easy solution....DON'T! I personally have never received such treatment at this service station so I can only assume it was due to the fact that he was young and the attendant felt he could treat him like crap. The manager of this station is Saman Limonee who will now be doing repairs out of the Shell station across the street. Shame on you and your employee for treating my son this way. I will be informing Tire Rack of your performance and rude behavior. I can only hope it results in you losing you status as an approved installer. Certainly I will not have any tires installed there in the future. I would also encourage those needing repairs in Great Falls area to consider Great Falls Automotive or Dranesville Auto Repair where they know how to treat a customer. read more

Recently moved to the area and decided to give this local business a try. There Car Service Station is generally flooded with cars and has great reviews about their mechanics. I needed to get an Inspection completed on my vehicle and was told it would take 15 mins. I was the first car in line with 3 cars waiting behind me. I waited for 45 mins with no inspector in sight. I approached the attendant to who told me it would be additional 1.5 hrs. You should not tell your customers 15 mins if you cannot provide the service. I completely waisted an hour of my time. I drove 15 mins to another Sunoco Station in Reston. They have a dedicated attendant who was able to complete the service in 15 mins. I hope this review will bring awareness to the owner that your Inspection System needs improvement. Maybe recommend booking appts . read more

Went for an inspection and was told I needed more work done. Their prices are lower than the dealer. Brad offered to drop me (and my kids) off home and pick us up so we don't have to wait for several hours. We ended up doing that and Brad was very helpful and friendly. I had a problem with my door latch that was no longer catching so my door wouldn't close. I called the Nissan service and they quoted me $68 to look at it plus $450 if I needed a part. I went to Exxon Great Falls, Tofun took a look and fixed the slipped latch in 5 minutes! So easy and such good service. Normally I dread anything that has to do with auto maintenance, especially after having been ripped off over and over again at the dealership service centers. After taking my Mini Cooper to Great Falls Exxon, I will no longer go into a panic when the "service" light goes on. Candy and the team here explained things in terms even I could understand, formulated a common-sense plan with me, were quick and helpful and the price was quite reasonable. Yes, the waiting area is tiny, but with a Starbucks and a Subway in the same plaza, and very fast service, it wouldn't make sense to have it any larger. I will never go back to the dealership for service. This is the small-town, customer-friendly service that I dreamed of! read more

I found Great Falls Exxon through TireRack.com and have had both of our Accura's tires installed by them. They did a good job on the installs and when we noticed an issue after an install they re-balanced all of the tires on the car finding no fault with the wheels. They thought the issue was in the drive train and they did not charge me anything for the re-balancing. They took the time to describe the process they went through and why they felt the problem was in the drive train. It turned out the axle had a 'ding' (dealer term) on it that was causing a wobble under speed. Thankfully the car was still under warranty and Pohanka Acura took care of the problem. I will definitely go back to Great Falls Exxon again. read more

Being from Richmond, VA it's hard to find an auto repair shop that's trustworthy and especially as a woman. A friend recommended this place, and I received excellent service. I own a 2015 Nissan Juke and a car like that needs really good tires. Tofun (the GM) chose the best option for my tires, however, I asked if he could find something cheaper than $110 a piece for each tire. He said there are other cheaper tires that I can choose from, but he would never put them on his sisters' car. He gave me his honest opinion instead of saying "sure, here's one for $70, we can place them by COB today." That made me realize I can really trust Tofun and his team. I'm also the kind of person who asks tons of questions, and Tofun was very patient, understanding, and answered all of my questions thoroughly. People like that are hard to find. I took my 2003 Honda Accord to Great Falls Exxon for a check engine light and inspection. They were very knowledgable about the car and my options. They even suggested a few very cheap options but also told me the pros and cons to each approach. In the end, I chose the best repair option, not the cheapest and they got everything fixed up the same day! Included a catalytic converter, (2) oxygen sensors and a vTec switch. Great place to get an oil change or your state inspection done. Recently brought my Jeep here because the heat wasn't working. After paying 60 bucks for an inspection where they found an additional $800 dollars worth of work to be done, they told me it'd cost at least $1,200 for them to take off the entire front dash and change the heating core. I took it to Dranesville Auto for a 2nd opinion, they figured that all I needed was a blend door actuator. They found some additional work that needed to be done, advised me on what was most necessary and what could wait. I walked out of there paying $675 to get my heat working again and a new muffler/tailpipe. I've been going to Great Falls Exxon for years for simple things like I said, however I'll be going to Dranesville Auto for anything serious. read more
