I recently had my car of 15 years go through a catastrophic breakdown, necessitating me to purchase a car pretty quickly for work. Despite my situation, when I came into Herson's Honda in Rockville, my interactions with the salesperson Jeff Serrano were incredible. He was the exact opposite of what you'd think of when imagining the stereotypical car salesperson. He was very friendly, patient and asked great questions to get me into the ideal car within an ideal timeline. He was very laid back and not pushy, all the while, I saw providing similarly stellar service to other people also in Spanish as well! Full disclosure, Herson's was like the third of 5 recommended dealerships Costco's auto program listed out to me. For now, I'm switched from team Toyota back to Honda. Really have enjoyed the Honda Civic Hatchback, the service and follow-up from Jeff and his team. If there's one complaint I might make is that it didn't always seem like the left hand was speaking to the right at the dealership. Admittedly I had a bit of a different situation with trading in my car post-sale by a month+ as opposed to the same time of purchasing my vehicle. My experience with Herson's Honda has been extremely disappointing. After brake-related service on my 2021 Honda Odyssey, the vehicle appeared to come back with a brake-fluid leak. The dealership denied responsibility. Since then, I have had repeated problems with brake fluid becoming dark again shortly after replacement, and I have also noticed a brake pedal that slowly sinks under pressure. I contacted the dealership in writing and asked them to fix the problem or offer warranty support. They never responded. Now they say they will inspect the vehicle, but they are already preparing to deny responsibility if damage is found. That is not acceptable when the issue started immediately after their service and involves a critical safety system. I strongly recommend that anyone dealing with brake work here document everything carefully. I will update this rating based on how the situation develops. Still in progress. read more

I told him that Car and Driver had rated the CRV on their top ten cars and I wanted to see it. We took a test drive and truly the interior of the car was beautiful. I purchased a brand-new Honda CR-V Touring from Herson's just two months ago, and the CarPlay has been faulty from day one. Despite multiple visits back and forth to Herson's, both the sales team and service department were unable to fix it. The service department has now told me the entire audio system needs to be replaced, but the part is on back order. In the meantime, I'm driving around with a defective vehicle and have wasted countless hours trying to resolve an issue that should never have happened with a new car. When I escalated to CJ, the manager at Herson's, to ask if anything could be done to make this right, I was shocked at how dismissive and rude he was. He told me this was a "common issue with Honda vehicles" and essentially that there was nothing he could do, other than offer me a discount on other Honda products. That is not customer service--it's an insult. I do want to note that Rich, the salesperson who sold me the car, has been wonderful throughout this process--kind, attentive, and genuinely trying to help. Unfortunately, management's complete lack of care overshadows his efforts. I expected far more from Honda, and especially from Herson's, given my history as a repeat Honda customer. Instead, I've been left with a defective car, wasted time, and a terrible customer experience. I would strongly caution others to think twice before buying here. read more

I brought my car to this Honda dealership for a trade-in evaluation. They told me CarMax had offered only $13,400 for my vehicle. I happened to have a written CarMax offer for $16,000, still valid at the time -- and when I verified it directly with CarMax, they confirmed the higher number. That means the dealership either misrepresented the CarMax quote or used a different process to make it look lower. Either way, it came across as dishonest and misleading. I expect transparency when discussing trade-in values, not manipulation of third-party offers. Pro: nice staff, Con: small guest parking lot This review is based on the experience of Christine( person who mainly drive the the car but ownership is under my name technically.)So, took the car to get some maintenance done and after dropping it off you can check the progress of how and when it is seen by a technician. After a couple of hours we get a call from Emerson the technician and he goes over everything from the car inspection and he send an email explaining what need to be fixed and the prices are posted in the email so that cool. Emerson was very helpful in trying to find discounts and going over our silver warranty contract from another Honda dealership to help us save money. All in all, our experience here at the Honda service department was very good compare to the terrible service department at the college park Honda that now in greenbelt. read more

Please help!!!! Tell me how you feel about this... my dad bought crv hybrid at this dealership. He drove for few weeks and the engine broken. They took it and kept it for 2 months and gave it back and it happened again 2 times. This is the third time. We went in and asked for answer. They said it is manufacturer problem now we need to contact them. I asked the manager CJ can he at least be responsible and notify Honda just to bring our case up to Honda to make the process goes quicker. He denied. Manufacturer's responsible but your dealership sold it. At least help your customer get right. We need him to be the one report or call honda but he denied. This dealership owe my dad an apologize. Disappointing and Untrustworthy Service at Herson's Honda - Avoid This Dealership! I am extremely frustrated with my experience at Herson's Honda in Rockville, MD. On December 28, 2024, I brought my car in to have a clicking sound checked out coming from the dashboard. Instead of addressing the actual issue, they recommended replacing all four tires, claiming the tread was low. However, only one tire had 3/32 of tread left. Why didn't they just replace the two tires that were actually worn out? This seemed like a blatant attempt to upsell unnecessary services and get me to spend more money than necessary. But that's not all. They also suggested replacing several other parts, including the timing belt, tensioner, water pump, drive belt, air intake tube, and rear HVAC motor--a total cost of $6,481.52. Looking back, I can't help but question whether these repairs were truly needed, or if they were simply trying to inflate the bill. The real frustration came two months later. After driving only 2,064 miles, the hood wouldn't open to allow me to add washer fluid. Given that I had just spent hours/days with them in December addressing various wear-and-tear items, it's hard to believe they didn't notice the supposedly deteriorating hood latch at that time. Instead, they had to break my grill to fix the latch and then charged me an additional $1,499.90 for their mistake. This was completely ridiculous. To make matters worse, when we questioned them, we were willing to pay for the parts but refused to pay for labor. We strongly believe that the hood latch issue should have been identified during the service in December. Furthermore, since they were the last ones to open and close the hood, it raises the question--did they accidentally break the latch during their work? Despite this, they refused to deduct the $361 labor cost. We believe they should have covered the entire cost, as it was their failure to catch the problem in the first place. At this point, I have zero trust in the mechanics, Service Advisor, or Service Manager at Herson's Honda. It feels like they are more interested in taking your money than in providing honest, quality service. I would strongly advise anyone to avoid this dealership. The lack of professionalism, honesty, and customer care was appalling. Save yourself the frustration and go elsewhere for your car repairs. read more

Simply terrible. They have no idea what they're doing. They promise to be on time but they have the young girls attend you and they inform you that I'm not driving it correctly. Nelson also promises to attend and we set up a time, and tells me to come. Then he's out for lunch at 2 pm and keeps you wanting.. They keep selling you to get things not needed and it's a girl calling you about it. Hopefully they'll fix the engine idle stop issue which h seems to be an issue on all 6 cylinder engine Honda cars. read more

Highly recommend this dealership! Just bought our 4th vehicle from them on 11/27/24. I met with Kevin A in Sales on Tuesday. He took his time explaining all of my options for the vehicles I was interested in. He truly took an interest in making sure my needs were being heard. Our vehicle was totaled on Tuesday, not our fault, and I had a very limited time to purchase a new replacement vehicle due to our very busy schedules. I went back to the dealership on Wednesday, 11/28/24, but it was our Sales Associate, Kevin A's day off. He spoke to me on his cell phone and arranged for staff to take care of me on Wednesday when I arrived. I announced I was working with Kevin A, but he was off and needed help to be able to purchase our new vehicle. I was introduced to another Sales Associate, Okitto B, who worked well with all staff to get me a deal that fit our needs and budget. The process seemed seamless and I always felt as if I was "family." My neighbor had crashed into our car in our driveway during a medical emergency and totaled the vehicle. Unfortunately, he passed away a week later. I had a deadline of Friday to be able to buy a replacement vehicle due to work requirements and other options ending. Their Finance Dept person, Andrea, was extremely helpful in crunching numbers to see what would work for our unplanned situation. She was very calming to this tragic situation and made us feel as if she really cared. From there, we crunched numbers a bit more with the Sales Manager, CJ. He was so kind and understanding and made this horrific situation feel manageable. CJ was able to get the numbers to be where I needed them and Andrea helped with making sure the Extended Warranty was exactly as we needed it to be. To finish the purchase, we met wonderful, Angelo. Signing all the paperwork and getting copies of all of our documents. He was very knowledgeable and friendly and once again made us feel like family. He was absolutely looking out for our best interest! Between my first encounter -- and the entire reason why I returned on Wednesday and bought my car--- a HUGE KUDOS to Kevin A! He is the sole person who sold me 100% on buying my vehicle from Herson's Honda.
