I want to thank Ethan, the service manager, for taking the time out of his busy day to personally call me and explain the company's position regarding my review. I appreciate the effort to clarify the misunderstanding. According to Ethan, the business does not require payment upfront. Instead, the text we received was a pre-approval link meant to inform us of the potential cost following a diagnostic. Unfortunately, this wasn't clearly communicated during my original call with Lou. If he had mentioned that we'd receive a text requiring approval before any work could be done--and that payment would only be due after the diagnostic--I would not have left a one-star review. From a customer's perspective, receiving a $200+ link without prior explanation understandably creates the impression that payment is required in advance. This was a clear miscommunication, and I'm willing to chalk it up as such. That said, I strongly recommend the business makes this process more transparent in future calls. Customers should be clearly told: 1. They will receive a text with a pre-approval link. 2. No payment is due until after the diagnostic is complete. In today's climate, transparency is critical, and many customers--like myself--may feel uneasy approving charges before their vehicle has even been seen. While I still haven't had any work done here, I want to be fair. Ethan's call helped clarify the process, and for that reason, I'm updating my rating from 1 star to 3 stars. My intention has never been to tarnish this business--only to share my honest experience. When I challenged that and said I would happily pay for a repeat inspection *IF* my vehicle needs repairs, Tony repeatedly doubled down on nonsensical policies. Recommend using Columba Auto Care or Dobbin Auto Repair. Both seem more respectful of customers' time. Neither have such "policies" for state inspections. UPDATE to correct the inaccuracies by the business owner: I booked the night before and received confirmation of such. Also, when I called Tony in response to his text, I told him I'd pay for a repeat inspection IF NECESSARY (unlikely on a newer model with low miles) and would not want their shop to do the repairs. He still doubled down on nonsensical policies. If my vehicle needed repairs, I'd take it to Tesla -- not a random shop without the expertise necessary to take care of my vehicle. I've talked with multiple shops in the area. This is the ONLY one I've spoken to that refuses to do state inspections on Teslas. They should reevaluate their policies AND state this clearly on their website so they do not waste customers' time.

I called Expert Auto Repair & Tires and spoke to Olivia and said the price would be $20 and take 5 mins. I went to the location where I was greeted immediately. Oscar had me pull my car up and he plugged the tire right on the spot! I wasn't there for more than 10 mins between getting the tire plugged and paying. Both Olivia and Oscar were very nice and made sure the service was completed to my satisfaction before I paid. The only thing I will say was it was too much air in the tire compared to the other 3 but it was nothing to just let some out. Notice how the good reviews are over a year old, it's from the old owners who were honest. The new guys are scammers and tried to sell me completely unnecessary work on my transmission. I took it to another shop in Laurel and it was fixed in 2 days. These guys wanted to rebuild the transmission. They also charge a diagnostic fee of $165. Other transmission shops will scan the codes for free. My advice is go to North Laurel Transmission right down the street. They will diagnose your transmission for free and won't sell you a fluid service when the transmission has a code for a sensor that needs replacing.

Unfortunately, the front desk manager refused to honor the agreement. After looking at the warranty paper, she demanded an upfront diagnostic fee before any work or inspection could begin. When I explained that a lifetime warranty on the part and service should cover the inspection to verify the failure, she refused to discuss the matter. Instead of talking professionally, she yelled "Excuse me!", walked away, and ordered us to leave the shop while refusing to address our other repair needs.We have been customers here in the past, but the complete lack of professionalism and the outright refusal to honor their own written warranty is unacceptable. I took a 13 year old, out of state, ford fiesta in for a Maryland state inspection. I was looking…read moreto buy the car off my dad to use as a commuter car but if you know Maryland you know that state inspection can be a hurdle so before I committed to the car I wanted it inspected and passed. The car failed with a belt issue. As far as I know it's the original belt, so for a 13 year old car to only be dinged for a belt I was really happy as I was expecting a laundry list of items to be wrong with the thing. The service advisor even brought the belt out and showed me what was wrong and it was definitely frayed, cracking, and dry rotting. I confirmed I wanted the belt replaced and they said it should be done in a couple hours. For circumstances out of their control that didn't happen (thanks parts store :D) but they quickly offered to valet me to work. They then picked me up at the end of the day to pick up my car. All said I paid roughly 450 for inspection and a new belt which was a big positive for me. As old as the car is I was expecting several items to be out of compliance and had a budget of 1500. As far as if they are above or below cost of other places I don't really know. The belt job may have honestly been a touch higher than I would've wanted but the valet, expediency and general vibe of honesty is worth a premium. I'm not even sure if the price really was "a touch higher", I'm blessed to not spend tons of time at an auto shop getting repairs all the time to really be able to do comparisons on price. I'll definitely be going here from now on as long as I live in the area. I magnet'd the business card my service advisor gave me to the fridge and told my roommate if he needs a shop to go here so I think that's pretty decent praise.
