So I originally came in yesterday to collect the part that I ordered, which was the Honda emblem (something so simple). I got there and they said they couldn't find the part... so I'm like I came for no reason i see. The guy in parts stated that we can reorder it for you and you can pick it up tomorrow. They said they can't ship it to my house or another dealer smh. Just overall an inconvenience to my day. I came the next day to pick the part up and asked for a complimentary car wash and they declined....just ridiculous. One of the worst dealers I've been to. If you must go to Honda go to the one in greenbelt and just ask for Lateef! He's great! Never coming back to this silver spring location again... Using the COSTCO automobile buying services, we selected the model, trim, and color of our vehicle and the process started. I (woman) came to buy a Honda Odyssey with my spouse (man). The price was the best I found in the area. Salesman William was a delight and respected me as the primary purchaser. We proceeded with the sale after a test drive. It was all easy and smooth until we met with manager Josue. He was extremely pushy about the extended warranty options and ignored my no about 5 times. When I finally said, "I don't respond well to high-pressure sales tactics," he said, "Oh, no pressure!" and proceeded to try to get me to buy it one more time. Omg. Then when we had wrapped up, he wanted to know if there had been anything that would prevent us from giving a perfect "10" on our experience. Uh, yes. Read the room. We said no just to complete the transaction as quickly as possible. He seemed angry with us for not purchasing the extended warranty and treated us differently from that time forward. (You know they push those warranties because they're big moneymakers for the dealership! Especially with a reliable brand like Honda!) I texted my salesman about the experience later. The manager of the finance department, Mohammad, reached out to me. I explained the story. When I explained the particular discomfort I felt as a woman having my "no" ignored by a man multiple times, he chuckled. He said he was sorry and he would talk to Josue. Don't car places usually throw in an oil change or two to make things right? Not this time. Just a "sorry" and a request to please not think about Josue when I think about my experience with them. (Huh?) Methinks they're not very sorry, they just want to make some more money on extended warranties and that tactic works on enough people. Would I come back again in the future? Eh, I dunno. I would have liked to get up and walk out - but we were replacing a van that no longer works so we were in great need to buy something. Maybe for the right price and the flexibility in my life to actually walk out upon receiving that kind of treatment, I would come back. However, that experience with Josue encapsulates everything that everyone hates about car purchasing - it's not unique to this dealership. So, hard to say. read more

Dropped off our 2016 crv in for a $300+ b1 service, and the service team found on inspection we needed new brakes. We agreed to another $1400+ in repairs, made our way back up before closing to find out we would incur another $50 fee to pay with a credit card(!). Since we had no checkbook or debit card with us, and had already fought rush hour once to get to sport by 6pm for pickup, we felt we were kind of forced to pay the additional fee. Cmon Sport, it's the 21st century - nickel and diming us for using a standard form of payment is pretty petty. This is particularly galling to us since we've bought two crv's from Sport in the last 12 years and have religiously used them for service. Given this absurd credit card usage fee (and the fact that no one returned my call yesterday when I inquired about dropoff arrangements), I suspect we will not use them again. read more

I had the best buying experience for my new 2025 Honda Odyssey. I have purchased many cars over the years, but the staff at Sport Honda made this the best experience I have ever had. It was very professional and very efficient. They were very responsive to all my questions. What helped is that I had researched what I wanted and had the pricing in mind when I contacted them. So we were able to communicate right away. They provided me with useful advice while having to make some decisions on the purchase, including about the financing for my car. My prior car was a lease that had to be bought out, but they explained the process and patiently waited for me to decide how to approach it. When I went to test drive the car, the sales representative was ready for me and had the car I was interested in brought forward for the drive. He answered all my questions, and followed up on the paperwork needed, including the license plates. I did not know they could actually issue new plates on the spot, which was a pleasant surprise, no need to wait with a temporary tag while the permanent ones were processed. They installed the plates on the new car before I left the lot. The financing was a bit complicated because I was buying out the lease on the old car, but they took care of all of it. I just needed to review and sign the paperwork. The options were explained to me in an easy way to understand. Overall, I was in and out of the dealership with a smile on my face because it was such a pleasure doing business with them. There were many people at Sport Honda involved with my purchase, but I had the most interactions with Robert Fogarty, Natan Gelaye, and Josue Canas. Overall, this experience was better than anything I could have asked for. I leased my car through the Costco auto program, which gave me a discount without my having to lift a finger. Where most care sales people are there to get you into a new car ASAP, Mike Canter was genuinely looking to give me a great customer experience. The color and trim I wanted were apparently very rare (Civic hatch sport touring in smokey mauve pearl). Instead of convincing me to take something I didn't want right away, Mike encouraged me to wait while he secured EXACTLY what I wanted, even though it took nearly a month to find it. Every time I drive my car I'm grateful that Mike encouraged me to wait for what I wanted instead of settling for a lower trim or different color. All the associates I interacted with were kind, not at all pushy, and prioritized my comfort over their bottom line. THIS is what makes for an excellent car dealership. Before landing on Sport Honda I interacted with at least 3 other dealerships that were pushy, vague on their offer, and continued to contact me after I asked them to stop. There is no way those dealerships will ever get my business. I joked to Mike that as long as Honda keeps rolling out the smokey mauve or some variation of purple (which made a comeback in this gen of civics after decades of being discontinued), they will have me as a lifelong customer in me! Edit: The manager reached out to me after the incident to resolve this situation to satisfaction. Averaged score to 3 star overall. Sport Honda promised us that this incident was an outlier and this is not the standard that they conduct business under. After consideration, I am inclined to agree based on my past encounters with this business. We brought our Honda Civic to Sport Honda for diagnosis and repairs. Our car's temperature light was going off and the heater was failing to produce hot air. Our car is about 11 years old so we figured we should get a thorough look in case something serious was going on underneath. Sport Honda was very accommodating on intake and scheduling. We dropped off our car the evening before the scheduled inspection to make it easy for them and hopefully get our car back sooner,. They explained they would charge a diagnostic fee of $175.00 for the initial labor of investigation, which would be waived if we decide to perform the repairs at Sport Honda. We thought this was perfectly fair at the time. They called me the next day and told me due to technician call outs, they couldn't get started on diagnosing my car until the next day (I am out of a car for another day because of their problems). When I finally get the quotes for recommended services, I clearly see the diagnostic fee of $175.00 still listed. I asked them about this, and they told me the fee could not be waived because I quote "didn't bring in the car for maintenance at 7 years as recommended" and that it was my fault as a consumer for somehow letting this happen. Mind you, I am quite sure bringing your car into the dealer for services "as recommended" is not mandatory, nor is it some qualifier for service benefits. This was also not communicated to me when they took my car in. They literally just told me on intake, if I do the repairs at Sport Honda, the fee would be waived, straight and simple. Not only that, but I see line items like a battery change for $200.00+ being recommended to me when batteries are less than $100.00 and take about 5min to swap out. They found 5 additional services to recommend and quote after this diagnosis. I offered to pay to get all of the items addressed at Sport Honda for my own convenience. They told me they were unable to remove the diagnostic fee, and "found" me discounts after speaking with the manager totaling ~3% of the total cost. Granted how overpriced all of the items felt, we decided to only address items of immediate concerns, having no choice but to pay the diagnostic fee of $175.00 on top, despite them being already a day late for problems that are not the consumer's concern. I honestly feel like I was bait and switched. Very personable interaction initially, and then they overcharge me and find excuses to rescind promises made initially. Very disappointed with this place. For those bringing in their cars for repairs at this location, please heed my review above and be VERY thorough in inquiring about the expected costs and the diagnostic fee. Also be prepared to pay more than you expect after you are committed because they very clearly bait you with easy promises and find technicalities to back out of them. read more

Found a 2006 honda accord online on their website for a great price and condition and emailed them at midnight, by the time I woke up at 9, I had and email and a call from them to set up my test drive. Worked with sales rep Tim Vo and he was amazing. Called me right away and got me set up with a test drive same day. I came in and he was extremely helpful and welcoming. Within 5 mins of arriving to the dealership was out on my test drive. The dealership is great with covid precautions, everyone has a mask, social distancing, hand sanitizer available, and mostly importantly they are great a working with internet/email shopping. Sale rep Tim Vo was very professional and friendly, he was upfront about me with the pricing and the condition of the car. I decided to purchase and Tim made that a stress free and pressure free experience which I loved. Upfront about all costs for my purchase, transparent about fees and taxes and explained anything I didn't understand. I got the car for a price that was within my budget and was very happy with it. I picked up the car the next day after it was cleaned and detailed and the inside of the car was immaculate. Tim got me through the finance department quickly and I was in and out with my purchased car within an hour. I thought buying a used car during this covid time would be a pain but Sport Honda and Tim Vo made my experience super easy and hassle free. I thought the experience was going to be a haggle fest for the whole process. We emailed about 7 dealerships in the area about ordering our vehicle with our preferred paint and interior knowing it was in high demand. We brought it in for an electrical issue and Mr. Brian Viegas assured us that the issue would be resolved. We had a few issues with it not starting a couple of times in the past. However, I was very disappointed to learn that you implemented a 3% service charge for using credit cards for payment, WITHOUT PROVIDING ANY ADVANCED NOTICE. In this case this was not an inconvenience to me as my invoice was relatively small and I had the necessary cash. I receive email blast and hard copy mail from Sport on a regular basis why couldn't you give notice on this new service fee. I can imagine the angst some customers might feel if they arrive for service and find out that they are facing an unexpected not budgeted fee for a large service charge. Would you want your vendors to treat you that way? I think not. I've been coming to Sport for years and referred many friends and relatives, this is NOT a good Sport look. read more
