First time coming here to this side of the states. Been hearing a lot about Wawa and wanted to go here because I, like many weirdos LOVE gas station food hahaha anyways. Like CK or Am Pm etc. So upon entering I saw the layout and it looked nice! The people were very kind and I was helped out with finding my way to ordering their food from the counter. I got the I think it's called Utz chips and zapps a sweat tea an Italian hoagie with the works and loaded fries. So I had the sweet tea first it wasn't too bad, it could have been better. I then took a bite of the Italian hoagie and I really enjoyed it! With all the fixings in it! It made it a loaded sandwich. But the crowning glory is the loaded fries! It was delicious! The balance between the tenders and Cajun fries so the the old bay seasoning and cheese sauce mixed with the buffalo sauce made it extra delicious! I really loved it! Overall I enjoyed this place and I came back the next day! Haha which is today lol definitely will come back here before leaving back home within the week! read more

Full disclosure, I am obsessed with Wawa. I don't think it is possible for me to leave a negative review about anything Wawa. I know, I know, that's not very yelp elite of me. But I've been aboard the Wawa train long before I ever got into Yelping...there's no getting off now. So, for those of you that don't know, Wawa started out as a dairy farm. Then they opened a deli/market and somehow along the way they transformed into the magical cornicopia of deli and coffeeshop and gas station all in one. I think most regions of the US have a similar type of establishment...there is QuickTrip, Cumberland Farms, Sheetz, Buc-ees, just to name a few. If you are into these types of places, you will love Wawa. If you have never been to one of these types of places, please, find your nearest one and go check it out! Especially if your nearest one is a Wawa! You can download their app and order online. Or if you go into the store, most things you will order from a Kiosk. Just walk up to one, there are many throughout the store. There is also a hot coffee station with a bunch of different flavor coffees and creamers. They even have almond milk! I like to add a little of all the flavors of creamers, a little honey, and marshmallows. And there is also the grab-n-go stuff right by the register, with different kinds of sammiches and snacks depending on time of day. Since they aren't made-to-order, the quality can vary, but they are a good option if you need to grab something quick. My faveourite things to get from Wawa are their hoagies and their hot coffee. I haven't really had anything I didn't like, but I do like some things more than others. It's the kind of place that has something for (almost) everyone. If you normally eat at places where the food looks like it belongs in an art museum, this might not be your jam. But for those of us who enjoy all types of noms, please do your taste buds a favor and get to your nearest Wawa asap! So, my go-to for a hot hoagie is as follows: Toasted white hoagie roll Pulled Pork Provolone Cheese Extra Mayo BBQ Sometimes I switch it up a bit, other condiments that I find work well with the pulled pork are: chipotle sauce, hot pepper relish, pickles, sweet peppers, hot peppers. I always add extra mayo though regardless of whatever else I get, that's just how I roll. Not all locations have the pulled pork, so if it isn't an option I'll do a cheesesteak instead. If you have certain expectations of what a cheeseteak should be, this might not be for you. But I find it to be quite yummy with mayo, provolone, hot pepper relish, and a side of cheddar cheese sauce which I add as well. They have a chicken cheeseteak option as well, I've never tried it but hear great things. For a cold hoagie I do an Italian. Untoasted white hoagie roll, with pepperjack, lettuce, tomato, onion, extra mayo, and hot pepper relish. With a side of chipotle sauce to either add or dip it in. (I know that's not the traditional way to eat an Italian, but I've never cared much for doing things the traditional way. If I likes, I eats.) Their turkey hoagies are also really good. Basic, but the good comforting kind of basic. You might have to do some trial and error to find the items you like and the ideal topping/condiment combinations. It can be overwhelming trying to chooose sometimes, but they do have items with default toppings as well to make it easy! I also really love their tacos. They are not like tacos from a taqueria. But they are good! I got the pulled pork with salsa verde, chipotle sauce, onions and salsa. It satisfied my taco craving. I don't usually eat breakfast but I do like their everything bagel with veggie cream cheese. The scrambled eggs for the breakfast hoagies can be a bit watery, so I personally go the "omellete" route (where it is more like the kind of egg you would get from subway, or the folded egg from mcds) Their chicken corn chowder is really good! It tastes like a potato soup with corn and chicken added. A little on the sweet side, like creamed corn tastes. Very good to dunk a sub in, ha. The quesadillas are good, just don't go too crazy with all the toppings or it will end up a soggy floppy mess. Their smoothies are really good, some of my faves are the Chocolate Banana cream smoothie and the bananas foster cream smoothie. If you get lattes, and you want caffeine in them, I think you need to add espresso shots. A worker there told me they do NOT come with espresso by default. Besides all this there is also a decent-sized conveneience store. Lot of good snack and drink options, and a decent enough selection of grocery items that will do in a pinch. You can also buy their coffee and creamer to take home. I totally do this, 10/10 reccomend. So to sum it all up, I love Wawa and I hope you do too. read more

Love coming here during Hoagiefest!!! Classic 10in hoagies are only $5. You can't beat that price with the amount of filling they pack into their subs. For the first time this summer, they are bringing back the hot Turkey gobbler. I usually have to wait in the fall to get this. Just think Thanksgiving meal all in one sub. It comes with hot turkey, gravy, stuffing and cranberry sauce. It's really messy to eat, so don't try to eat it while you're driving. I also come to Wawa regularly for gas, if I can manage to get to a pump. Sometimes there are long lines of people waiting. We've long been Wawa fans and are happy to see the chain moving closer to us. Seeing that they finally offer their Sizzli's through Doordash, we placed an order for several items this past Saturday morning, 4 Sizzli's included. The delivery was prompt and the packaging great. The only issue was that we received everything but the Sizzli's. :( I called the Dasher asap, but was told there was nothing he could do about it. So I contacted Doordash and received a refund. We still wanted the Sizzli's, though, so I placed a second order for the four sandwiches. My wife and I joked with each other that the new drive is probably just going to be handed the bag that was previously left behind. And we were right! :) Well, kinda. We're pretty sure they made a new batch of sandwiches because they were piping hot when we got them. The food arrived quickly and we were thrilled that the folks at the store took the time to hand-write an apology on the bag. I've always had a great experience when visiting this Wawa about once a week in the mornings. The staff are always cheerful, and helpful, and actually know the regular customers by name. The store has always been clean and tidy, and the food good. When I come in the afternoons for iced coffee the staff are still upbeat. Counters are a little more messy, but they get cleaned regularly and I think it has more to do with the volumes of shoppers. Definitely my favorite area Wawa. read more

It pains me so much to write a negative review about one of my favorite chains in the world. Yes, I have an obsession with eating at any Wawa I can cross paths with; it was a childhood tradition going to the Jersey shore. When I heard about the Herndon location I knew I had to give it a try because when has WaWa ever let me down? Welp. I come in on a Saturday morning. It's slightly busy but it doesn't take too long to pay and then get my sandwiches. Their sandwich system is SO easy for those making the sandwiches: you literally get a ticket of what I ordered, there is no confusion on what I said or "forgetting" something. You literally have the directions in your hands. Of course you don't realize their mistake until you have driven home. I was pissed to find out my sisters junior hoagie did not have the chipotle mayo we asked and they added roasted red peppers? I thought maybe they made a mistake and put some of my toppings on hers but not the case. My 10 inch sub bread was obviously not fresh- it looked stale. The meat also didn't look super fresh. When I asked for vinegar they forgot it and they also gave me about 4 sweet peppers. Like I said, I have been to many Wawas in many states- even the sketchiest one knew how to put together a sub. The fact that this place is BRAND NEW and still messes up, is a big red flag to me. I would rather go over to the Chantilly location or to the one in D.C. Wawa's in Northern Virginia are okay. But average at best. Wawa's in central virginia, Fredericksburg/ Stafford area are very exceptional though. Great staff, great food, just all around very good places. read more

NOTE: This review is a little biased because I grew up in Pennsylvania where Wawa is a household name. All that aside, this location rocks. Why? 1) It's a convenient store / gas station which has reasonable prices. 2) In the store, the staff has always been friendly and courteous with me for 2 years or more. Never have I had a bad incident in this location. They are consistently good at customers service. 3) The staff is COVID-19 compliant meaning they all wear masks and gloves plus social distancing stickers are on the floors and there is sanitizer and wipes available to everyone. 4) They have soft pretzels to DIE FOR !!! And since I'm from the north, their coffee is a welcome change from Starbucks. Wawa coffee is good so spread the word people. 5) Their hoagies and sandwiches are AWESOME. You order on screen. You customize what you want. They call out your order number. You pay and you leave.... sooooo simple and delicious !!! read more

Very glad a Wawa is finally in Loudoun/Fairfax County. They also put in a Sheetz a block away which is silly as there is less customer traffic there than here by a foot long hoagie! Nothing against Sheetz but the eats at Wawa are weally wonderful! Their hoagie subs and anything on their touch screen menu knock out most spots (the Italian and the chicken club is where it's at). It's also clean and spotless; since it's new we'll see how long it keeps up. Nice staffers too. Also open 24/7 so you can get your eats on after a night of debauchery or fill that tank up to be on your way. It's about time this showed up! read more

Gotta have a Wawa! I've been waiting months for this Wawa to open near my work and home. It opened a few days ago and I got the chance to go there for lunch today. The place was busy since they are running all kinds of promotions for their grand opening. It was also very clean even though it was packed. I had one of their promotional Shorti Cheesesteak hoagies. The bread can make or break a sub and let me tell you, the sub roll they put it on was perfectly delicious. The toppings were all fresh looking and tasting and the sub was big enough to fill my tank. I will say that it got a little messy, since I loaded it with a bunch of toppings -- so I had to handle with care not to wear it, but the sub was delicious and I would load it up with all those toppings again next time. I do kind of wish they had some tables or benches to sit at to eat, but I guess I have to remind myself that it is a gas station, so I can't expect all the amenities or a restaurant. For the price, quality, and customization of the food, I'll be back many times. ...and I filled up my GAS tank too. It seemed WAY cheaper than other gas stations -- not sure if that is promotional pricing or what, but I think it was $1.97 for 87. I can't remember the last time I paid less than $2 a gallon!!! I often come here in the morning to grab a coffee and some breakfast. Today was like any other day; I got a 24 oz coffee and, like the fool that I am, filled it to the brim. I was able to carefully balance the nearly-overflowing coffee until I made it to the cashier. Then. As I set the coffee down, the lid popped off. Coffee spilled everywhere, flooding the counter and nearly soaking my cinnamon danish if not for the plastic wrap encasing it. As I looked up from my hubris-induced catastrophe, I fully expected the cashier to be angry with me, or at least annoyed. However, the cashier (whose name I unfortunately cannot remember) handled the situation with grace. She kept a smile on her face as she cleaned up the spill, and she was cheerful and forgiving as I continually apologized and tried my best to help. She was able to roll with the punches in a way that I really admired, and at the end of it all, she smiled and told me to have a good day, happy as ever. Made some coffee and discovered a milk carton was chunky. Asked an employee if he could dump my coffee and explained the milk expired. He took my cup but was as emotionless and silent as a robot. Nothing was done about the milk, I threw it away myself. During the same day an old couple was struggling with the sandwich kiosks and no one bothered to help them even though they were very vocal about their confusion. I feel like this place took close to forever and a day to open up. I knock off one star because they don't have the card/gas discount like Sheetz down the road. I've been to other Wawa's in other cities. This one was pretty nice, we got gas then went inside to get a drink as we got some promotional coupons in the mail. Inside is very clean, when you go into order a sandwich or a drink, you need to order from a touch screen then it will print off a receipt, pay for your order then wait for your number to be called. It being a newer place there are still some kinks to be worked out (i.e. the service was a bit slow considering it wasn't too terribly busy at the time we were there. But the staff was friendly. I don't know if I'd go out of my way to come here but if I'm around I'd probably come in. read more

I give them a solid 50% because that's what they are giving me. 50/50 whether you are going to have a good experience or bad. It honestly has nothing to do with the food, gas, or anything else but fully because of the service they provide. Some of the team members are bought in and some are on another planet. The current manager seems geared ready to role but definitely needs to promote the team and build the strengths while killing the attitudes. Today while waiting in a bit of a line behind a few other customers with extensive purchased a male employee named Morgan actually shoved me out of the way to get to the counter without excusing himself, apologizing, or even looking at me to give me a non verbal.
