I am the mechanic at this location replying to the complaint of Aseel below: In a nutshell, this customer was unhappy with services rendered. In the ensuing argument about a "brake job," She accused me of stealing her credit card! At this point, I asked her to take her car out of the shop and leave immediately. That's an infuriating and libelous accusation and absolutely false. May be I overreacted, but no person can take such harassment lightly, I believe. It is the customer's right to obtain fair service and documentation which I stand ready to provide. Further, I stand ready to rectify the situation and redo the work to the customer's satisfaction and provide her with documentation of services and charges. I highly recommend Salam's Auto Service, the car repair shop at this gas station in the heart of Fairfax City. Salam is professional and friendly, fair in his pricing, and he does excellent work. My spouse and I have taken our cars to him for oil changes, tire repairs and replacements, brake service, and more, for several years. We've been 100% satisfied every time. He's also a man of good character who's devoted to his kids and the community. A good mechanic may be hard to find, but Fairfax is lucky to have Salaam's auto service! read more

It's in old town Fairfax. Being in the area often, I'll fuel up here. Is it the cheapest in the area? Nope. Yet it's very competitive, and my vehicle seems, to get better mileage with their formula. That alone is reason for me to stop in. Admittedly it's a little tricky being on, the corner of 123 and 236. There are a lot of non drivers to watch out for. Well illuminated and clean, it's a safe and easy once past that, place to fuel up. It's been here for quite a few years, and although not super busy, my guess is it'll be staying. Glad to support them, and close to a lot of good places. read more

I wanted to return the favor as I found this location on yelp a couple of weeks ago. I had something dragging from my undercarriage at nearly 6pm Saturday evening. Mr. Salam told me he could look at it if I could get in before they closed at 6. I got there, and they put my car up in the bay. He let me know it was just a cover, and it would be okay to just remove. He didn't charge me, but I gave him $20 for his trouble. So when I moved up here about a week ago, I immediately went back to get my oil changed and get a couple of things looked at. Mr. Salam was friendly and forthright. The services were completed in a timely fashion, and the prices were reasonable. I will make him my regular mechanic because he is direct and honest. I respect him and his work a lot. read more

Just received wonderful service from Salam and his crew at the Royal Gas Station in Fairfax City. My sensors kept indicating low tire pressure even through I kept filling the tire with air. They checked my tire thoroughly (no puncture), equalized the pressure in all the tires, reset the sensors, and then Salam took time out of his obviously busy schedule to give advice for the future and thoroughly explain what probably caused the trouble. All this and NO WAIT. I'm so lucky I went there. read more

Never done a review here? Whaaaaa. Ok so this is my favorite gas station and i dont even use it for gas that much. Inside has cheaper than 711 items. Great friendly service that will remember you. Last year on the day after thanksgiving. The mechanic help me as i was on a drive out of state and my car blew a hose. He fixed it and i drove out of state a hour later. Great place read more

They're always great. I have to lead with that before I go into detail. The owner is a very kind man, I've always had pleasant dealings with him. Kris, the mechanic, is very, very knowledgeable about every type of vehicle. I have three very different cars, and he easily diagnoses and repairs all of the issues that my older cars always seem to have. He helps me keep them on the road despite their age. Their prices are always fair and below-market, from the auto service to the gas itself. I visit the place a couple of times per week, just for the mood boost they provide from being so kind. I could not possibly recommend the Royal Gas Station more. Don't let the name fool you, I have no stake in this business and this is not a paid advertisement. These guys are just solid professionals. They spent a while trying to figure out what was wrong, but they couldn't because I had to take my car home before they could figure it out. Overall, my car was in a bit of a weird situation, and most crooked mechanics would take advantage of that and charge you hundreds, but they handled it in the most honest way possible. They just charged me $20 dollars for the coolant because they didn't fix it and I went home. These are truly honest people. Definitely take your car here for any maintenance you need done. My husband and I have used this gas station for 15+ years since we have lived in the Fairfax area. The prices used to be more than competitive. Recently, the owner, Birat Babu Malla has raised prices significantly. Last week, I stopped to vacuum my car. The vacuum took my $2.00 in quarters and then did not turn on. When I went inside to inquire and ask for my refund, the owner was completely recalcitrant. He refused to refund the $2.00, which, frankly, should have been no big deal to him or to me. It just annoyed me that after over 15 years and literally tens of 1,000's of dollars, the owner could have given up the $2.00 that his machine ate. My car's check light engine light was on. I got it diagnosed at $45 at Royal Gas. Thei mechanic suggested me that the repair work (replacement of 3 oxygen sensors, 1 purge valve, and 1 EVAP vent control valve) will cost me $800. My car was a 2005 6-cylinder Hyundai Sonata. I did whatever Royal gas told me but the check light engine light was still on. I took it to the other mechanic who identified that it was just a loose fuse. I am highly disappointed with Royal and will never go to their shop. read more
