The new car wash works great. The staff was helpful and friendly. I don't know anything about the gas, but the car wash is great.

It's nothing fancy. Occasionally this station will have great prices. Unfortunately I don't know if there's a pattern to this. On other visits I'll get five or so gallons to go elsewhere. It's up to you, but this is on the city and county borders of Fairfax. This is convenient to a lot of places. The location is quite busy, but usually you can sneak in. Plenty of room for any vehicles. It's clean and well illuminated. As for the employees good folks. The convenience store is basic. If you're close by it works. read more

WARNING Avoid this car wash like the plague! Not only a waste of money but also broken! I fell for their gas deal which is supposed to save money on gas if you buy a car wash. I thought it was a good deal as I regularly go through car washes anyway. Wrong. I wish I trusted my instincts when I pulled up to the entrance of the wash. It looked ancient, like it belonged to the Stone Age, and getting into it was a major hassle as it's so narrow. Furthermore, to get into the wash you have to go over some speed bumps which not only suck but the bumps on the right side were totally busted! When I drove my car into the car wash, the first bump was annoying, but the second one was the ultimate letdown. Check out the pictures I've uploaded. On the left, they had two bumps--one to indicate where to stop and the other to keep you from veering too far left. But on the right side? Yeah, you guessed it! Two broken bumps that trapped my car and put it at risk if I dared to move forward. I paid $12 for this car wash and all I got was a weak water spray and poor smelling soap. Since I couldn't proceed to the drying area, my car ended up covered in hideous streaks. Now, let's talk about the icing on the cake: my car getting stuck. Not only did they have the audacity to scold me for supposedly doing "two things wrong," but it took them ages to open the gate so I could back out. They had the nerve to claim I had "advanced too far" and wasn't "properly centered." The first one cracks me up because, seriously, who doesn't have to move forward to exit a car wash? And as for the second one, it's physically impossible! The left side still had a bump to guide my alignment. I'm telling you, not only did my car suffer a few bumps from this whole disaster, but it also ended up looking dirtier than before. So here I am, back at my usual car wash spot, scratching my head, wondering why on earth I wasted my precious time and money there. Save yourselves the trouble and steer clear of that place. Even if they miraculously fix the speed bumps, their car wash is a complete joke that's over before you can even blink. read more

UPDATE: So I walk down to Walmart and buy a gas can. Walk back to the station, get 2 gallons of gas, put it in my vehicle. Then drive to the station to fill up. Fill up and walk over to the owner who is repairing something outside and the same gal I spoke with earlier is with him. In a seemingly-nice gesture I offer the can that I just purchased to them to keep on hand for the next idiot that runs out of gas. They are both immediately defensive. Ok confused. Turns out the gal thought I was rude to her earlier. (What the wha ?) Nevertheless, I apologize if I came off that way. (Think she apologized? Nope.) But they're still both very defensive. "I'm not asking you to BUY it from me, I'm GIVING it to you." "NO! You take with you!" Guy finally calms down and explains to me that cans he has had in the past as loaners have brought him nothing but trouble. (Liability issue.) And the cans he's had on-hand for folks to buy have all leaked (as the one I bought from Walmart did on me. Damn government makes them have these horrible safety valves that are crappy). Folks get ticked off and bring the cans back into the store wanting a refund or a fist fight. So now I understand the delima. So after this interaction, I go to the on-site car wash. I got the middle-grade $12 one. I don't think it did a $12 job, but we're in high pollen season. One neat thing I realized after the fact is that this place has a pressure washer you can use on your vehicle prior to entering the wash! I guess it's to get the wheels clean or for especially nasty cars? It's on the right, as you enter the driveway for the car wash. Nice! So, the lady is still unhelpful and a snowflake, but I understand the reason for not having gas cans now. The car wash is over-priced but when you consider being able to use the pressure washer, it's not bad. So 4 stars. 2 Stars: If you should run out of gas nearby (it happens to us all) don't bother coming here! Me: Do you have a gas can I can borrow? I ran out of gas in the parking lot next door. Her: No. Me: ok, thanks. [I'll just buy one. Go to look on store shelves.] . . . ma'am, where are your gas cans? I don't see them on the shelves. Her: we don't carry gas cans. Me: that's crazy! Well, do you have any suggestions? Her: no. Me: um. Okay. [exit store] A GAS STATION WITHOUT A GAS CAN? This place is seriously missing the opportunity to take advantage of idiots like myself. Buy a 3 gallon cheap-ass gas can for $8. Charge me $25 for it (call it the cost of being an idiot). Turns out there's a Walmart about 500 feet away. Whatever. read more

I was prompted to come here by a value pak coupon for half off car washes ($4-6 after coupon). I got the premium wash and paid inside. If you get your car washed ask inside for the free vacuum--you will need to park your car by the vacuum on the far left. Re guy working offered to vacuum it out, but I took care of business. The machine was pretty quick and did a decent job of getting my car clean. I wasn't impressed with the dry, but for $6 it was quick, convenient, and satisfactory. Oh, and if you get your car washed here, you can get .20 off per gallon (need to see attendant)--would be about $2.50 savings if I filled my tank. All in all, not a bad for a quick wash and go--especially with the coupon, they seem to come out monthly. read more

Worst car wash ever. This place has no business charging people for their car wash. It is old and ineffective car wash. Brushless wash couldn't even get the leaves off my car. It wasn't til exiting when air blower actually got some of the leaves off my car. Cashier gave me a another wash but that was waste of my time because it ended being the same results. Ranging from $9 - $13 for a wash not worth it. Go to the Centreville full service car wash up the street. read more

Gas prices are very reasonable. This particular Shell has an auto-car washing service, so that's cool. Polite customer service.

This tends to be the Shell station I go to. It's nearby, rarely are any of the pumps down, the premises is typically swept and clean and the trash cans aren't that full. There are vacuums and air pumps (both of which you pay for) as well. They are also normally a few cents less than the other closest Shell stations. That said, this location had a fairly substantial staff turnover several months ago. It used to be quite easy to go inside and purchase a soda or some chips where now there tends to be lines inside and some pretty brutal language barriers which weren't there before. This doesn't happen all the time, but much more often than it used to. Also, I have no idea what the other people who reviewed this place are talking about as this Shell has no mechanic bays or anything other than pumps, a convenience shop, and drive-through car wash. read more

I go here for my emissions/safety inspections for my vehicles. The staff are very friendly and nice. They recentlly remodelled.. not sure if it was a choice or because there was a fire. I just know the station was closed for a few months, but it is back up now and operational! read more

LOVE this gas station for its convenience and excellent service. Prices are always comparable to other nearby gas stations. The parking lot is always free of debris, and the pumps have a TV on them for entertainment while filling up (not a need or anything I watch, but shows they think of their customers). I popped in for gas, and while filling up, asked how long it would take to get a state inspection on my vehicle. They were very helpful and accommodating, and since I was 1st in line, it only took about 10-15 minutes for the inspection to be completed. I would highly recommend coming here for inspections, as well as gas needs. read more

Yes, it's a gas station and repair shop (3 bays). But not only is it conveniently located, all the staff is very friendly, the store and entire station are always clean, and they put up tons of blow-up decorations during the holidays (including Halloween). The state inspections are done efficiently and courteously. However, the reason I'm writing this review is because of the service I received this evening that is evidence of this business' customer-first attitude. I recently got a flat tire that was repaired at another tire-specialty location. Cutting to the chase, after getting my repaired tire back, I could not get the donut-sized spare tire off my car's axle. I took it to Lee Highway Shell station around 7:30pm. The store clerk said the service bays were closed (9am-5pm on weekdays), so I headed back to my car to find another option. One of the mechanics (I should have gotten his name) was sitting outside talking on his phone and, as I walked by, asked if I needed help. I noted that the bays were closed and he should head home for the evening. He shook me off and made me tell him my situation. I did and less than 10 mins later, he got the spare tire off and mounted the newly-repaired one on. He performed this service cheerfully and refused payment when he finished. So, to summarize, he interrupted his personal phone call after hours with the service bays closed to swap my tires free of charge. The least I could do was relate my experience on Yelp. Thank you! I will continue to fill my tank and update my inspection stickers at the Lee Highway Shell station whenever possible and they are now at the top of my list for automobile maintenance and repair. read more

Great local business, they've always done a fast and quality job inspecting our vehicles for our annual state inspections.

Pricier gas than other places nearby but close enough to 66 that it beats going further afield

This used to be my go to gas station for gas, inspection, emissions, and tire repairs. After today that is no longer the case. Three months back we took my wife's car in to have a tire repaired and asked to have all the security lugs replaced with standard lugs. They did this for approximately $30. My wife ran over another screw and this time the tire was entirely deflated, so went to put the spare on but the security lug was not replaced on the spare. Not a big deal, I never specified to take the security lug off the spare, instead of putting the spare on I placed the tire that needed to be repaired in my car and ran over to the Shell. As usual the service was great. Today I took the car in to get the security lug off the spare. I explained what happened and asked how much it would cost to have the remaining lug removed. The person (Jay I think) said it would be $40. At that time I told him that is more than what it cost to remove the other four lugs. He countered with we have no record of this vehicle ever being here. I said that is not true because this vehicle had been here several times. He essentially shrugged his shoulders and dismissed me and then turned and walked away. Long story short took it to Midas down the street and in three minutes the lug was off and the cost was nothing! My decision to never use this Shell again will pain me more than them because it was convenient and normally the staff is great. However the attitude displayed by this individual is not excusable. read more
