Scam business beware - I went to them for an inspection and made the mistake of telling them I needed this because someone was waiting to buy my car. They gave me a rejected sticker because they said one of my tires had too much wear, yet they couldn't show me evidence of this. I had just taken the car to Costco 7 weeks ago to have the tires inspected (because that's where I purchased them) - they said they were fine and they are in the tire business! I argued and said that there was tones of tread and showed him, and he said "yes in some places but in this one spot I think it's too low." then he encouraged me to get one cheap tire to replace it - of course I did not. I went to the person who was buying the car and he looked at the tire and said it looked fine too and bought the car. Total scam. read more

I wish I could give it minus ten stars. I just got gas and it was $40 and on top of that they put a $50 hold on my debit card which is unacceptable. So I now have my card being charged $90 and who knows how many days that will take to come off because what if it was somebody that counted on having that money. I went in and he said it's shell that does that and I said I've never used this shell before, but I've used another Shell close by many times and they never did this. Imagine adding $50 hold on your debit card. The hold on the card is more than what I got in gas. This is unacceptable. Don't ever use this gas station they stink. read more

Dropped off a tire for repair on Saturday morning. They told me they had inspections ahead of me, but I could pick the tire up later in the day. Stopped by at 6, since they were open, but the garage was closed now, Sunday and Monday (holiday). I'm without my car for the 3-day weekend. If you need work done, go somewhere else. Whenever my cars are acting up, or I need simple maintenance performed, I go to these guys. The proximity to my home is a big reason, but also because they do good work. Earl, the attendant, is also very friendly. Danny always works on my cars, and he usually gets them done very quickly. On more than one occasion, I needed major repairs done. I've also recommended Danny to a few people in the area whose car needed to be looked at. At the times I needed an oil change or inspection, I would drop off and just walk around the shopping center and window shop. They usually call within 30 minutes. Once I lost my state inspection paperwork, so Danny printed a new one out for me. Another time I had a slow leak in the tire on my Chevy, so they helped me quickly inflate it with their compressor when I had no quarters. I then took it to Costco for new tires infused with nitrogen. Only a few downsides, none of which are major, or even their fault. The inspection and repair lines can often be long, and I have been told to come back another day on a few occasions. The prices of gas are sometimes slightly higher than in other areas, but I like to fill up here because it's right next to my house. I'm also aware that prices fluctuate based on locality. And on a few occasions I've had to call them for updates on my car when I didn't get a call. read more

I agree with the previous poster that the mechanic, Danny, is a very nice guy and seems to be pretty honest. However, my complaint lies with the man who does inspections (name unknown) -- he did say he is a supervisor. I took my car here to get the inspection done. Perhaps it's partially my fault, but as I have been here numerous times, and was somewhat friendly with the workers here, I DIDN'T EVEN CONSIDE R REMOVING MY BRAND NEW IPOD TOUCH FROM MY CAR. When I got my car back they had stolen the ipod, and it's supporting cables. I immediately went to ask about it, and got a handful of deception. They said they would call me if it turned up. Well, it never turned up. A few days later i returned and I asked to see surveillance from the date I was there, and they outright refused. I will no longer be a patron of this gas station and I AM URGING STRONG CAUTION FOR FUTURE VISITORS. Danny may be nice, but the others will rob you blind.... read more

Thought I had a slow leak in my Benz tire. They quickly found the rim was cracked and showed me. I told them I was leaving on a long drive in two days. They jumped into action, special ordering the rim and having it installed...all in under two hours. They were all very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend taking your car here for service. Has been my go to place for inspections and minor repairs. I also send quite a few people their way. Not anymore. I had always gone here for their customer service. Took my son's old Jeep Grand Cherokee in to get it inspected. The guy that inspected it was a total ass. He passed it, and then comes in to the checkout area and bitching because the window won't roll up. Said he should have failed it. I asked if they can fix the problem there and he co tinied to berate me for something that broke when he was doing his inspection. The guy then storms out slamming the door. The other guy working (there were only two there) apologized for his co-worker and was very nice. Most of their employees are. But if they don't reign in that ass of a mechanic then I won't be recommending them to anyone else. Sorry I don't have his name. Avoid this place for inspections or any mechanical work unless you wanted to be treated like shit by a grumpy mechanic. read more

If you are looking for a class act Mechanic and are tired of going to the Stealership or the other Chain stores, Go to the Shell station at the Safeway Shopping Center for your auto repair needs. They are upfront and honest on all estimates and treat their customers like actual customers and not a number like other places. Their prices are extremely reasonable and have been able to beat other estimates from the Chains. Ask for the Service Manager Larry and you will be in good hands. read more

I had to stay over three hours just for them to give me an oil change on a Monday morning when it was not that busy. I was very patient although it was taking too long. When I moved my car I didn't make it five minutes away until it started jerking, and had to bring it back because I needed a new battery. I was already aware of that and was going somewhere else for cheaper and quicker services, until they left me no choice but to get it done here. I'm never coming here again because they need better customer service and in my option, car maintenance efficiency. read more

This Shell Gas Station near Kohl's had me wait for at least half an hour, and did not tell me that they don't have staff for inspections. I waited for the car in the garage to come out and the technician did not come back. He did inspection on his car and left early before 6 pm on Friday night while I waited on an empty stomach. No one came out to tell me to go home after the cashier told me to wait in line. read more

Drive in and ask for help with a mechanical issue. Cannot find his mechanics. Does not know where they are (at 12 noon)? He will look for them. So I fill up on gas to be courteous and not take up space. I then move my truck, again, to be courteous and not take up space. He walks up to me and yells at me that I am blocking his (empty) bay. ADD/ADHD? Good bye. Never again, shall I visit this station for mechanical help. They are broken and need a human mechanic to school them in basic manners. I've been going to Parkway Shell for a number of years and find it very reputable. I especially need to mention Danny Sherman. Danny gives me straight advice, is fair, honest, and I trust him. Prices are comparable, but I've been to other local service stations and caught them recommending work that wasn't needed, outright fraud, and plain old dishonesty. I don't get that with Danny and I think he is the service manager at Parkway. Now I've moved away from Fairfax Station, but I still take my cars to him. Hard to find a better place. read more

We have been customers for both significant repairs and oil changes several times in the last couple of years. This is a very honest shop! Our old (2005) van has really benefited, and so have we. Took my 2005 pickup to Parkway Shell for a safety inspection. Apparently, the dealer had stripped a lug nut of the right front wheel. They removed the nut and determined that the bolt was still ok. Just a replacement nut was required and it would take 10 minutes. Turned out the parts stores nearby didn't have the part. So they drove off and got one further away, AND because that took some extra time, they did not charge me for the nut which would have been about $10. A very pleasant experience.
