    Kimchi bukkake
    Linda D.

We ordered the omakase. 8 diff items for $84. Presentation is nice but portion is about 1 bite. Poached albacore tastes quite fishy and linger long in my palette. Kokuto pork is also just okay. The main dish is a choice between duck broth soba or kimchi bukkake. Since there are 3 of us I choose the kimchi bukkake and the other two soba. Surprisingly the bukkake is pretty spicy for Japanese food. The pace is a bit too slow. Waitress is nice and chatty, pretty knowledgeable about the food they serve. The place has no air conditioner, it's a bit stuffy after a while, there is a fan you can use but still, I long for fresh air. I am wondering if the non omakase is better. Willing to try again for diff menu

Food was exceptionally good. Every ingredient and item on each plate- no flaws. However, price is definitely high. I'm not sure if I can justify the price.

It's between a 4 and a 5 for me, but I'll lean 5 because the dishes are pretty unique! The dishes we ordered were the anago, uni shiso bomb, kamo-nanban, and cream of morel. They also give a complimentary amuse bouche! The anago was lightly fried and I love the curry salt that it came with. The uni shiso bomb was probably our fav! Uni + ikura, what's not to love? A little salty imo, but packed with flavor. I got the kamo-nanban and I thought it was good, but the highlight was the cream of morel. Super leek-y, creamy, and so delicious. Their soba is flat, whereas I'm used to round soba, but it's good nonetheless!

Authentic and amazing Japanese food! All the dishes we got were super unique and flavorful. Foie gras tofu was my favorite, along with the cold soba. The broth was both citrusy and fishy

delicious food in a small cozy shop. all the apps and desserts were so well done. Foie gras tofu was incredibly rich and savory, perfect paired with the dashi and wasabi. also loved the tempura shrimp and fish with the curry dipping salt. would come back just for these! the soba itself i would have preferred to have more of a bite to it, and the dipping broth a little more duck-y rather than soy forward but just personal preference! definitely a neighborhood staple.

This place was recommended to us and I'm very glad we got the chance to eat here. Food was all delicious, authentic and flavorful. We sat at the bar and watched them cook, and they made great recommendations on what to eat.

We came here around 8 pm on Friday without a reservation and had to wait about an hour. We didn't mind and decided to check out a nearby bar while we waited. I highly recommend making a reservation since it's a small restaurant. Their specialty is handmade soba noodles, and our server recommended ordering one dipping-style dish. My husband got the Matsutake Beef Sukiyaki, and I got the Birria Curry Nanban. Both dishes were incredibly flavorful, and we're already looking forward to coming back.

Came in for our 5:45 reservation. We started with the chawanmushi and smoked hamachi kama, and both were warm, comforting, and nicely done. Unfortunately the soba didn't live up to the same level. I ordered the tempura kake and while the tempura itself was crispy, the broth and noodles had very little depth or flavor and tasted pretty flat. We also tried the chestnut coffee custard for dessert. The crust was hard and stale, and it was paired with some orange ice cream that didn't really complement the custard, so the dish felt a little disjointed. Service was fine for most of the night, but the pacing toward the end felt rushed. When we were still deciding on dessert, we were told there was another seating after us, and once we finished we were quickly prompted with the check. I understand timed reservations and table turns, but it did take away from what could have been a more relaxed experience. Overall not a bad meal but the soba and the rushed ending made it less memorable than I expected.

Ordered a few items 1. Duck soba noodle. Warm broth is good. A lot of soba noodle but not a lot of duck pieces 2. Hamachi Kama. Pretty good and Smokey 3. Coffee chestnut custard. Oh my this is a flop. The mandarin sorbet doesn't go with this dessert at all. The coffee crisp is soggy and hard. Feels like it has been living in the fridge for a while. The service is good but there is a 20% tip added automatically regardless of the group size.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Seattle. I love soba and Japanese food, so this was the perfect spot. I went here with my husband and we started with 2 small plates to share. Before we got our first dishes, they provided us with an amuse bouche which was chilled watermelon with seasoning. The king oyster mushroom was very good with a mixture of umami seasoning. It was firefly squid season - so we decided to get this in tempura. Their tempura is so light and tasty, I also loved the fresh seafood taste. My husband ordered their Kamonegi seiro. It was a dipping soba that came with a bowl of broth with a duck meatball. I ordered the shrimpcado bukkake. This was a cold soba noodle bowl that came with shrimp tempura and avocado. Both of these meals tasted great. We finished off with their strawberry rhubarb soufflé style cheesecake. This was also very good and I loved the texture of the cheesecake. It wasn't overly sweet and the perfect way to end our meal. I'd highly recommend coming here. Tip-you can make reservations ahead of time to secure a spot.

Fore Gras Tofu- this is my favorite thing here. I've been here twice and I had it both times. Melts in your mouth and you absolutely must try this. Duck Soba- this is their specialty and I remember loving it the first time but it was not as the first but still delicious Cream of mushroom soba- my friend had this and I ended up dipping my soba in her noodles it was absolutely delicious I would recommend coming here. I always forget about it but it never disappoints!

Was able to get a reservation for two. Small restaurant that I've actually been to when it was Art of the Table a longggg time ago. Service was excellent. We got a little free appetizer bite which was super nice. I got the signature duck noodles. Nice umami tasting broth. The kabocha app was very much like Korean wings. I'd def come back to try other things next time! Easy street parking as well.

One of the best meals I had in Seattle! It is a must and was great for a rainy night like the one we had. The space is very small but well worth the wait. Our total wait time was over 2 hours because we were 4 adults and one child with no reservations. We ended up checking out the brewery up the street during our wait and wrapped back around. The staff are all extremely nice and welcoming. Everything was flavorful and the noodles had the perfect bounce to them. We ordered a sake that we tried sharing with staff to no success, but instead, they came around with a shot of their spicy tequila! It was definitely a memorable last night in Seattle and i would definitely go again. MAKE A RESERVATION. PERIOD.

    Ask the Community - Kamonegi

Can you tell us about the parking situation? is it street parking?

Hello! Yes, it's residential street parking.

Are these soba noodles gluten free? Buckwheat only?

Hello! At Kamonegi, we use a traditional nihachi ratio of 80 percent buckwheat and 20 percent all purpose flour to ensure that our noodles have a proper yield and buoyancy.…

Are any of the buckwheat noodles gluten-free?

No, unfortunately all of there noodles are made with 20% flour/80% buckwheat. This fact is printed on the menu.

Does this place any kind of Omakase?

    No, it's a noodle shop.

The reservation system starts with parties of 2. What if I just want to come in solo? Does anyone in the community have experience coming to Kamonegi as a party of 1? Were you able to make a reservation? If walk-in, what was the wait? Thx.

Walk-ins are welcome. Waits at peak dinner times can be up to an hour.

I see that reservation is $10 a person, will that go towards the bill?

The reservation website may have indicated that, probably in case you do not show up for the reservation, but we were never charged the $10 to my knowledge. Our final bill did not mention anything about $10 being deducted either. Hope that helps!

The Chinese name, 全記麵家, has little to do with the name Mike, but is nevertheless an excellent choice for anyone in the area. The staff is very Cantonese through and through. It is a cash only establishment and their menu is heavy on the noodles, be it in soup form or dry. There isn't a ton of room for large groups, but the turnover is quick and thus the weights are usually quite minimal. Service is very good overall and super friendly. I would highly not recommend using their bathroom, as it's tiny, cramped, and not in the best condition. The noodle soups vary from wonton noodles to fishballs. They also specialize in beef brisket and fishballs, making this feel like a bit of a Hong Kong style cafe. Most of the soups average out to be $14-16, depending on size. It's a joy to watch them assemble the bowls in lightning quick fashion. Wontons are excellent. They're plump with just enough skin for texture and are complemented by a fragrant soup and very little skimpage on the noodle (#1). The large dumpling (aka "sui kau") is an excellent wonton alternative for those looking for similar textures. The beef brisket is tender and they also have a dedicated section for just congee. There aren't a lot of places like Mike's anymore, and I wouldn't hesitate for a second for an opportunity to come back. Yet even when you add stuff back in, the sum is still reasonable, e.g. with added seaweed and a shot of extra noodles, my bowl came out right around $20 after tax/tip. Service is quick and courteous. Tables are mostly four tops, quite spacious at that, and surrounded by sturdy wooden chairs. I came for dinner on a Friday evening and there were a few other tables at any given time. Service was quick and our water never ran empty. We had the wontons in hot oil, topped with peanuts, I had the beef chow fun, and my dinner buddy had the pork with hot sauce noodles. The wontons are very very good, stuffed with flavorful pork and swimming in a sauce that sits in that perfect spot at the intersection of hot and sour. The peanuts and scallions add a delightful crunch. Their beef chow fun satisfies every bit of childhood nostalgia I have for this dish, with lots of wok hei, bouncy noodles, and the most tender of beef. I think my favorite beef chow fun in the city still lives at A+ Hong Kong Kitchen, but this is a close second. The portion here is also huge. I am a human vacuum and I actually brought leftovers home, which is rare for me. The pork with hot sauce noodles is seemingly a fusion of zha jiang mian and dan dan noodles. My friend really enjoyed it and actually finished the whole thing, which is saying something given that she doesn't usually eat that much.
