Awesome job! We were able to move from house to house in about 2 and a half hours. These guys were fast and professional and most importantly didn't break anything, or ding any walls! Used this company twice so far. PRICES are AFFORDABLE or can't be beat. I pack my everything in my own boxes so the fact they don't "pack n move" is alright with me. I literally jus need them to load, move, n unload. But I can see y other yelpers are upset. The only thing I wish they had was saran wrap for the beds. But putting a fitted sheet on both sides did me jus fine. They move quickly n got the "common sense" that some other companies lack about how to remove furniture n such. I love that they hustle. Unloading is jus as quick as well. They offer to set stuff up but again, I decline for my own preference of jus needing the load, move, n unload. They're real local n so I understand how some of the unlocal customers can take that as unprofessional. But it dont bother me at all given im born n raised here. Ill give them less stars if n when they start missing boxes, scratching furniture, breaking things, bad attitude, over pricing, etc. Till then, there good enough for me without all the hooplah that other places offer but u end up paying for. read more

Larry at Kama'aina Movers was responsive, reliable, and careful. He and his team showed up on time. While he doesn't do the bulk of the actual moving of items, he was there the whole time supervising his team and guiding the younger ones on how to do the heavy lifting while protecting the goods and their backs. Excellent service. Movers arrived a little late but that was OK because we weren't ready anyway. You pay by the hour so I appreciated it that they didn't start timing how long we had to pay for until the moment the guys picked up the first piece of furniture (i.e. arriving and positioning the truck and coming in the house etc. was not counted). They were very contentious and polite the whole time. They treated all of our furniture as if it was their own and were very careful. Things were packed in the truck very carefully, each wrapped in moving blankets and secured well to prevent shifting in-transit even though we were only going a very short distance. We were trying to save money so only had them get the big heavy stuff (furniture etc.) which cannot fit in our car, and we were able to move all of the furniture in our one-bedroom apartment (queen bed, two dressers, huge armoire, fold-out couch, desk, chairs, several cabinets, a large icebox, a full-size dishwasher, bicycles, surfboards, etc.--a lot of stuff) in only 2 hours from start to finish. It was only a little more expensive (at $90/hour) than if we had rented our own truck and done it ourselves--and these guys worked really hard. Dwayne the owner trains his crews very well and they do good work. They wrapped all of the items like dresser etc. in saran wrap like you would see at the airport in order to keep them from any chance of brushing up against something and getting scratched etc. The 2 movers we had worked very hard non-stop and were not lazy at all. I felt bad seeing how much non-stop work they did in only 2 hours. Travis especially was awesome! We got all our stuff moved for only $180, but I gave the guys a big tip because I was so impressed with the level of customer service they provided. If we ever move again we will definitely call Kama'aina movers. Highly recommended. I was very impressed and I consider myself a stickler when it comes to good service. read more

Kamaaina Movers were able to book us 1 week prior to move out date and they were available on the day we needed them and someone always answered their phone & was available to help. We had them booked for Saturday 8am to 10am (2 hr minimum) for 3 guys. They came around 7:45am and was done by 8:45am!!!!! We moved from a one bedroom, furnitures moved were King mattress & box springs, wide dresser, entertainment stand, 55" tv, 2 bookshelves, 3-seater couch. But they had time and lots of space in truck, we were able to add lots of random boxes, baby bouncer, high chair, coffee table, and 2 small dressers!! They wrapped all our furniture, handled everything very carefully yet soooo efficient! They were also respectful about taking shoes off on carpet. We are so very impressed and pleased with their work! Will definitely book with them again next time we move. read more

These guys are awesome!!! Contemplated doing the typical call all my friends together to help me move, but after receiving a quote from Dwayne, it wasn't that much more than buying beers and burgers. I could have 2 professionals and a big truck come and do it for me. Best thing about it is after everything is done, they leave and you don't have to entertain everyone for the rest of the afternoon. The guys showed up a little late because of truck problems. Bonus was that a third person came with them. They got everything loaded in under an hour and we were on our way. They took a little longer unloading as there was a flight of stairs to contend with, but still got it done just over an hour. Dwayne's estimate was pretty much on the money!!! When I scheduled my appointment, Dwayne quoted me $500-$600 for 3 hours. My family and I moved from the first floor of a 3 br 1 ba apartment to a house 10 minutes away. They were scheduled to come to my apartment at 8:00am and showed up at 7:50am. I did a quick walk through with Dwayne to show him everything I needed out of my place. Dwayne and three other guys went straight to work and moved everything out of the apartment and into our home fast! It took them 2 hours and the cost was way cheaper than projected at $375. Called to book these guys less than 2 days in advance and was given a fair quote. Got a call 1 hour in advance to them arriving, they asked questions about what needed to be moved, and showed up both prepared and on-time. They have a 2-hour minimum, so we planned to have them for exactly two hours as that was what the quote given was based upon - no more, no less. They guys worked quickly, did what was asked, and accomplished everything exactly as planned. The price quoted was the price paid - no games, no last minute price hikes, no BS. I've only called movers three times, and the first two times were bad experiences. I admit to being skeptical, and on top of that I was both tired and in a bad mood on the morning we had to move (thanks to a landlord's illegal actions). These guys not only met my expectations, but brightened my day significantly. Thanks, guys. It's a relief to know that there's straight-up, hard-working people out there who do what they say. We had to move from Ewa to Halawa...both units were upstairs. They were courteous and professional. They carefully moved all big and heavy items and they made sure that I approved how they packed the truck before hitting the road. They also didn't rush the job and they treated our items as though as If it all belonged to them. Moving is always stressful, dreadful and time-consuming. Our move-in date to the new place was a moving target, yet Kama'aina Movers was available at a moment's notice. I called on a Thursday, Dwayne and his crew were ready to go for Saturday. He even called to see if Friday morning was an option, but we weren't quite ready. All of his guys were fast, efficient and they arrived ealier than our appointment time. I was stuck at the new place waiting for our internet to be installed, yet Dwayne was able to coordinate with my mother-in-law to get all our big heavy items onto the truck and over to our new home. In fact, they beat the internet installers, moving our 3br/3bath worth of stuff in just under 2 hrs. Amazing professionals and all the guys handled our goods with proper care and expertise. I even overheard Dwayne coaching one of his guys on lifting properly too, so you could tell he cared about his guys being safe, healthy and efficient. I really appreciated also that his crew took off their shoes upon request at the new place. Paying with cash is definitely recommended, as there is a fee for Credit Card usage, but that seems to be standard protocol for moving companies and service-oriented businesses. Dwayne is awesome! I made a last minute call to move my stuff from Kaimuki to Kalihi. It was the end of the month so they were busy but they accommodated my schedule and helped me move early in the morning. I accidentally broke the glass plate of my desk right before they came. Dwayne made a plexiglass substitute for me and delivered it to my new house a few days later for free! I also didn't have enough cash on me when they delivered. (They don't take credit cards unless you go through the online payment process.) So I had to run down to the ATM machine but they trusted that I would get in touch with them and never made a single, disturbed look when I told them I didn't have any money on me after I utilized their service. My intention was for these guys to just move all the furniture and that was it. They ended up packing EVERYTHING up before I could even explain they didn't have to. They were awesome. After settling in and trying to get rearranged, I found one of my most expensive frames was damaged. Despite the fact that Dwayne questioned how it was damaged as my fiance and one of his friends helped unpack when they brought our stuff to the new place, Dwayne reimbursed me for replacing the frame. I don't understand why this place has such great reviews. They were my only option available for my emergency move back in February, so that's how I found them. The two movers who came were good, but after my move only took one hour, they said that there was a 2 hour minimum. I was never told this on the phone by the owner prior to moving day. Luckily the movers were able to reason with the owner, Dewayne, and explain that it would literally be robbing me to charge me the original price seeing as my move only took one hour. I ended up paying $200 as opposed to the original $300 they wanted. Ugh Since the movers were good, honest and efficient, I thought I would give them a second chance when I moved again yesterday. The owner and I agreed on a one hour minimum of $160. Pricey but I needed the help so whatever. Three different guys came this time and we're extremely unprofessional. 30 mins late, even after they said they would be there within 10 mins. One guy asked to use my bathroom at my old place. Fine. But then that same guy was asking me for drinking water at my new place. Mind you this move only took 30 mins start to finish. They threw my bags around from the first to second floor of my new place, and my lauhala mat went missing. I texted a mover last night and he said he would check the truck for it this morning and get back to me. 12 noon rolled around and he didn't get back to me so I texted him. He said it wasn't in the truck and that no one recalls seeing it. Real funny because I recall seeing them carry it out. Now the owner Dewayne isn't answering and the voicemail isn't set up. I'm extremely disappointed and will never use them nor recommend them to anyone. This place needs to be checked out by the BBB for real! ***UPDATE: Dewayne called me back and said he found my mat. He delivered it and refunded me half the cost of the move. Apparently the workers "didn't see it" when they left it in the moving truck, but Dewayne was able to spot it right away. I really appreciate Dewayne going out of his way to make things right. I think I just had the misfortune of having some unprofessional movers that day.
