Even accounting for the shorter distance, this move was seriously fast but not lacking one bit in caution. And here is the kicker, it was less expensive too and the team was bigger. I still love the other mover but this team has beyond proved itself so I guess this is my first choice mover now. Treat this team right. They are in demand for a reason.

The second move involved coming the day before to pack up our kitchen, then moving our apartment furniture and packed boxes into our new house. Before the moves, Alfredo came over to assess how much stuff we had and then gave us a quote that was competitive and reflected the actual cost of the move. He had 4 guys do the move -- it's much cheaper to have more guys because they do the move faster and you spend less money. They guys were all very respectful and sweet. Both moves happened fast and efficiently and all our items were moved with great care. Nothing was broken or scratched and the guys remove their shoes before coming in the house. I will absolutely be using Alfredo and his team for all my future moving needs.

After calling everyone I could think of, including the board of water supply, with no one providing any help, I typed in "plumbers" into Yelp and started cold calling down the list. First Class Plumbing was the third company listed but the first one that seemed to care. I was warned that I was calling after hours so I'd have an emergency fee if I wanted service now... I joked "fine - this is an emergency" and was told I'd get a call back as soon as they could get ahold of one of their plumbers. I went back to trying to heave buckets of water into a nearby sink and received a call back 15 minutes later. The plumber was so calm, and after hearing that I was still dealing with gushing water, explained to me how to stop the water flow. He asked me to send him pictures of the burst pipe and the faucet and got off the phone to price everything out including replacing the pipes and faucet. After doing all that work he told me what the cost would be and then said it was no worries if given the price I didn't want to continue on - or at least wait until it wasn't an emergency (an extra $150 charge). I said I definitely wanted the service and he came right out and fixed the burst pipe. I would already have been raving about this place for their competent service if it had been a normal scheduled appointment. But the fact that this company and the plumber were there for me when no one else was, and went above and beyond walk me through how to stop the problems and extremely quickly look into part costs for me before I ever even agreed to the service has made me a loyal customer forever!

I first found Mike when I was frantically searching for a handyman to fix a toilet for guests staying at my Airbnb. Mike answered promptly, was available on short notice, and was able to fix the issue with ease. Since then, he's been our goto handyman for any issues that arise with my condo. His knowledge is broad, as he's also helped us with a badly leaking sink, shower hardware replacement, disposal and installation of new furniture, door misalignment issues, and probably more jobs I'm forgetting about. A lot can happen in 48 hours…read more We had a bidet for going on three years. During that period, the included soft close toilet seat cover broke twice and had to be replaced. It became clear it was only a matter of time before it would happen again. Besides the seat cover issue, there are the hygienic ones. Yes, the bidet is there to keep our body parts clean, but the device itself, and surrounding areas, need to be kept sanitary as well. And having it doesn't eliminate the need for toilet paper. Rather than replace one for another, we decided to do away with bidets entirely and opted for a standard toilet seat. You would think this should be a simple process. Sunday morning, I selected a handyman service on Yelp, and was offered the option of soliciting quotes for a few other businesses, which I accepted. My request was sent to 5 businesses. My first choice was also the first to respond, within 2 minutes: "Unable to service I'm booked for this time So sorry" A second three minutes later: "Unable to service I don't offer the service" The third asked for photos. This sounded promising; now we're getting somewhere. I was given a quote and we scheduled an appointment for the following afternoon. I arranged to take off early from the office. I left courtesy messages to the two remaining businesses that I had accepted an offer from another service. The next morning, I received a call that the worker wouldn't be able to make it, and we would have to reschedule. I made an appointment for a weekend this time so that I wouldn't again have to ask for time off from work. A few minutes later, one of the two remaining businesses that had not yet responded to my initial request messaged me offering "a free walk-through estimate." I provided my phone number, and when he called me, his first question was what job I wanted done. (I thought this was already covered in my solicitation.) He also said that if he came over, I would be charged a minimum of $150, "even if it's for one minute." This was all too confusing. I felt we had a language barrier and communication problem. I responded that I'll just stay with the service I had decided upon. I'm off from work today, it being a State Holiday. This morning, I received a Yelp message from Aaron of AAH General Services, quoting a flat rate and requesting that I give him a call. He asked in detail what the job would entail and I went over the problems we've been having and what we were looking for. I asked if he would be available today, since it was my day off. We agreed he would pick up the new toilet seat on his way here later this morning. He explained things to me that others I've worked with in the past didn't take the time to discuss. He did a great job with the removal and installation. His price was more than fair. I contacted the other company cancelling our upcoming appointment for 12 days later. I said I didn't feel too bad about cancelling after they had cancelled on me the same morning the job was to have happened.

He also cleaned my weather strips that were sticking onto the garage door and probably adding additional stress on the section that pulls the garage up. The garage door was about fall apart and Island Repair Services was able to fix it pretty quickly. The cost was significantly lower than using a garage door service repair and it works perfectly now. Since then, we've also used Ron for other maintenance around the house and property management while traveling out of town. If your looking for handyman services in West Oahu, I'd highly recommend Island Repair Services for repairs and installations around the house!
