He stocks the most tools, gadgets and supplies I have ever seen. Mel's brother Dave helps on jobs. Dave is very efficient and provides lots of valuable advice. Dave helped with a lot of complicated electrical work and he worked overtime to get it done. I was impressed at how hard working these brothers are. Mel was given the tough tasks of rebuilding a kitchen cabinet sink base to fit an ultra heavy / high-end farm apron sink. It was a retrofit of cabinets I cannot order more of and he made ever cut with precision. The final product looks like it came from the factory. If any of you buy a farm sink, you will understand how difficult it is to install and appreciate Mel's expertise. A lot can happen in 48 hours…read more We had a bidet for going on three years. During that period, the included soft close toilet seat cover broke twice and had to be replaced. It became clear it was only a matter of time before it would happen again. Besides the seat cover issue, there are the hygienic ones. Yes, the bidet is there to keep our body parts clean, but the device itself, and surrounding areas, need to be kept sanitary as well. And having it doesn't eliminate the need for toilet paper. Rather than replace one for another, we decided to do away with bidets entirely and opted for a standard toilet seat. You would think this should be a simple process. Sunday morning, I selected a handyman service on Yelp, and was offered the option of soliciting quotes for a few other businesses, which I accepted. My request was sent to 5 businesses. My first choice was also the first to respond, within 2 minutes: "Unable to service I'm booked for this time So sorry" A second three minutes later: "Unable to service I don't offer the service" The third asked for photos. This sounded promising; now we're getting somewhere. I was given a quote and we scheduled an appointment for the following afternoon. I arranged to take off early from the office. I left courtesy messages to the two remaining businesses that I had accepted an offer from another service. The next morning, I received a call that the worker wouldn't be able to make it, and we would have to reschedule. I made an appointment for a weekend this time so that I wouldn't again have to ask for time off from work. A few minutes later, one of the two remaining businesses that had not yet responded to my initial request messaged me offering "a free walk-through estimate." I provided my phone number, and when he called me, his first question was what job I wanted done. (I thought this was already covered in my solicitation.) He also said that if he came over, I would be charged a minimum of $150, "even if it's for one minute." This was all too confusing. I felt we had a language barrier and communication problem. I responded that I'll just stay with the service I had decided upon. I'm off from work today, it being a State Holiday. This morning, I received a Yelp message from Aaron of AAH General Services, quoting a flat rate and requesting that I give him a call. He asked in detail what the job would entail and I went over the problems we've been having and what we were looking for. I asked if he would be available today, since it was my day off. We agreed he would pick up the new toilet seat on his way here later this morning. He explained things to me that others I've worked with in the past didn't take the time to discuss. He did a great job with the removal and installation. His price was more than fair. I contacted the other company cancelling our upcoming appointment for 12 days later. I said I didn't feel too bad about cancelling after they had cancelled on me the same morning the job was to have happened.

I purchased an AC unit from Home Depot but Aaron advised me when he unboxed it that it was damaged. He told me my options and was very knowledgeable about AC units. He waited for me while I went to Home Depot to purchase another AC unit, so kind of him as the job took longer and I didn't have any time in my schedule to have him come back another day. He removed the old AC unit and installed the new one in less than 30 minutes!! As a carpenter by trade, he not only made sure that everything was sealed off properly but the new AC unit was braced and supported properly. Overall a really great experience!
