Overall they did good work. The only issue I had is that they cut the ceiling tiles in the room making a big mess even after I asked them to do the cutting outside. No floor covering so dust was everywhere. They vaccumed the room and made a partial effort to wipe some of the shelves but dust was in several rooms. read more

Second time we have used Kama'aina Handyman. First was a job very well done so they were the first folks called when we needed repair of a kitchen cabinet that collapsed. DJ was our technician. He worked quickly and efficiently to repair a collapsed carousel corner shelf and reinforce one in the opposite corner cabinet to preclude it doing the same thing. One of Kama'aina Handyman's best attributes is a system of positive communication from start to finish. Compared to many services, that is fantastic. Well done work by DJ today. Had them come out to change a light switch and check all our outlets since our house is 45 yrs old. Kahae and his assistant (forgot his name) were both very friendly and polite and worked very fast. The two men who came to take out the old AC and to install the new AC was amazing. They were very professional. The old AC was glued tightly into the wall and we couldn't get it out. Had a four day project replacing two gates. Joe came out for the first day and relocated the posts before one of his workers came in to finish the project. After about five months, and some high winds and rain, the slide lock on one gate didn't line up, along with the lock coming off and one hinge coming out of the post on the other. Called Kama'aina Handyman to repair them. I was going to pay them to fix the problems since it was months after the install. Joe came out and fixed everything at no additional cost. I know he saw the defects from their earlier installation and made everything right...no actually better than the original installation. Now I'm lining up my next set of projects for Kama'aina Handyman. They stand behind their work and I highly recommend them. read more

We had a finished kitchen with a ~2 1/4 in gap in the trim between the built-in refrigerator and the wall. Refrigerated was fixed in place leaving little room for work. Carpenter figured out how to build a frame for backing then secured the trim to the frame. Very resourceful. It looks much better. read more

Kama'aina Handyman did a great job in ensuring the protection of my home. I tasked them to remove and replace the existing deteriorating Soffit covering. And install Hurricane Tie Brackets to the roof rafters to protect my home. Starting with the communication and site appraisal with Joseph, that was done with a detailed explanation, patience and understanding. As I was looking to protect my home and roof from high wind damage and other extreme weather conditions, he worked and communicated with me to ensure that the process would be smooth and hassle-free. The crew consisted of Claire and Erye. The workmanship of the crew was top notch, as was their hard work and taking an attention to detail to ensure that my home was going to be properly protected for decades to come. They removed the entire existing deteriorating soffit covering. Then expertly repaired and replaced sections of the soffit by using current construction methods & materials to update its ability to protect my home. They installed Hurricane Tie Brackets onto all of the roof rafters using galvanized brackets and corrosion-resistant heavy-duty joist hanger screws. The roofline was an average of 15 - 20 feet off the ground, so it wasn't an easy task. The initial anticipated timeline was that the work would take upwards to a full day, and they kept to their word and got it done in that time span. If I ever need any further handyman, restoration, updates and/or repair work to be done, I'll hire them again. read more

I was very happy with the great customer service I received from obtaining a quote through Yelp, speaking with the office staff, and seeing the Techs complete the job quickly and thoroughly. The cost of the job was fair for the work done. In fact, the Tech determined that the job would not be as extensive as was originally quoted based on the photos I sent them to re-attach a conduit that housed our electrical cables from the electricity pole to our house. He graciously informed me he would bill me for just labor since no materials were actually needed. A nice surprise. I definitely would use them again. read more
