Second time coming to Juniper and it was outstanding again!! We had a big group and they accommodated our group well, even added a table when we were bigger than expected. Drinks we great! I loved my bourbon drink, I think it was new on the menu and I can't recall what it was called. Ordered the charcuterie plate, Brussels spouts and whipped feta as an appetizer. All amazing. I'm sure we got everything on the menu given our groups size. Everyone loved their meal. I previously ordered the steak and this time ordered the beef stroganoff, which had a little bit of the steak and mushrooms. So delicious. I want to go back and order the trout. It looked good. Juniper was a farm-to-table fine dining restaurant that I treated myself to when I found myself in Tulsa (or even Oklahoma). It was such a wonderful experience, dining there, seeing more of Tulsa and the staff had been very friendly and helpful (they even took the time to chat and write down places that visitors should see while in town as well!). Now, any of you who knows how crazy of a foodie I am and how indecisive i was (I just want to try everything), non-surprisingly I went with the 5-course meal, which only cost $50ish (a bit more if you want wine pairing to go with) Now, any of you foodie in big cities would know this price point is a steal! The food was fresh, tasted so delightful, and not too much that you don't feel so sluggish that you need to roll back out when you are done eating (the staff mentioned each dish in a 5-course meal is about 1/3-1/2 of the regular dish size). But also, their regular dishes are about $20ish..so if you plan on getting a few of the dishes anyway..maybe a 5-course meal is a good way to go (to get to try many things + not be so stuffed!). Their tasting menu do change every few months or so...so that's kindda a good guarantee you would be greeted with different experiences when you decide to stop by Juniper again for your next multi-course meal. Because this place is located in downtown and close to performance arts center, BOK center, Blue Dome and other venues, I highly recommend you make a reservation in advance. For me, I was able to make a reservation the night prior...but I think if you happen to stop by right before big events/performances...there's a likely chance you won't get a table. Overall, lovely meal + staff. I would definitely stop by again..for special events...as a treat to myself...or just enjoying a wonderful meal with great company! read more

DELICIOUS!!! Juniper's is one of the few restaurants in Tulsa that has it all. Great ambience, service, drinks and food!!! Every experience is a solid 10/10. I love a farm-to-table concept and it's so hard to find a place in Tulsa that truly delivers! This is my second time here I fell in love with this place all over again! The food is out standing! I had the vegan curry made with sweet potato and the flavors were outstanding!!! Each bite was better than the next. You can taste how fresh the ingredients are and there was a nice amount of heat. The same with my kale salad!!!! Honestly, I licked that plate clean. The vinaigrette they make is phenomenal and the beets and blackberries were so fresh! You can truly taste that those veggies/fruits were just picked! My friend had the special which was the duck breast and he devoured it. He said it was some of the best duck he's had in Oklahoma. In addition to food, I opted to try their cocktails instead of wine this time. The Bee's Knees was delightful! And that's how I felt after drinking two of them... lol. They definitely pack a punch and the lavender syrup they use it very calming. All in all, you have to try Juniper's if you've never been! This is a perfect place for a date night or special occasion! We've been wanting to dine here for years, but never seemed to work out until tonight. We were very disappointed! The wait staff was pleasant, the interior is upscale; however, the food was mediocre, at best. Unfortunately, the staff was unable to control a larger party who ruined our evening. The heirloom tomato salad was underwhelming. Seemed as none of the three varieties was quite ripe. My encrusted trout was a pinch above fish sticks. I could barely taste the fish. My wife's tomato bisque was "okay " and her pork belly entree was very good. Presentation of both entrees was very attractive. The boisterous group was behind us and they stood for about twenty minutes drinking cocktails around their table during our entree. My wife and I could barely hear each other across our table. One person bumped my seat. Had the staff asked the party to take their seats then take drink orders, it would have been better. Allowing the group to disrupt the rest of the restaurant was a management failure. We left our table and paid our bill at the bar to get away from the inconsiderate group. The wait staff asked what they could do to have us return. No thanks. We will not be back! read more

Superb dinner last night. Although we had reservations, it was a quiet evening with guests scattered throughout the dining area. First came luscious hot rolls from Farrell's. Crunchy on the outside with a pillow of interior softness. These were served with a blueberry lavender butter. We ordered the crispy Brussels sprouts for our appetizer. Absolutely scrumptious! We both agreed these had the best flavor of any other sprouts we'd ever eaten. My entree was the pork tenderloin & corn risotto served with fresh asparagus. The flavors were sublime. My friend ordered the trout. She said it was cooked to perfection. For dessert I chose the blueberry lavender pound cake and I'm so glad I did. The flavors! Absolutely divine served with honey lavender & Madagascar vanilla ice cream from Rose Rock Microcreamery. If you've never enjoyed a fine meal at Juniper's I suggest you do. This is one of my favorite places to dine when we're in Tulsa. They have the best Old Fashion and we enjoy their cheese plate and soup is always seasonal and delicious. We were in town for a friend's wedding and wanted to get in a nice dinner for our first night in town. We found Juniper on Yelp and was intrigued by their seasonal menu, and it was so delicious! We went for a late dinner, after 9 PM, so there was no wait to get seated. The menu looked amazing - we caught the last of the August menu and ordered the weekly special seared duck and scallops with pork belly. The scallops and pork belly came with a turmeric cauliflower purée that went so well with the crispy pork belly and the perfectly cooked scallops. The duck was medium rare, which I've never tried cooked that way - it was crispy on the outside and still very tender in the center, and the savory flavors of the duck was balanced out by the sweet butternut squash sauce. And about their drink menu - they had some interesting infused spirits, including a cucumber dill infused gin. If I was a towny, I'd come here at least once a month to get a taste of their amazingly put together monthly menu and infused cocktails. read more

#fatjared say...this is definitely a more upscale fine dining experience and was very good, but not anywhere close to perfect. First, to explain the way I grade. 5 stars is PERFECT, so to get that from me you have to be PERFECT! Juniper was not perfect. And expectations when coming to a place like this are very important. My wife and I have looked at coming here for a long time. Finally we made the leap. If you compare it to normal restaurants it's above average, but people don't look at this place as a normal restaurant. You have to stand out, and Juniper just didn't do that for us. We started with ordering a bottle of wine. First time ever on that, and it did not disappoint. The wine was definitely amazing. I thought it was overpriced, but comparatively the price seemed ok to other placed we have been. First mistake was the bread. If I get bread at a restaurant, unless they say this is supposed to be served cold, it better come out warm. We had to send it back because it was cold. Let's me know it's not very fresh. We then ordered the crab cake appetizer. The cakes don't really stay together when you cut into them because there is not quite enough breading in the recipe in my opinion. I love they have enough meat, but needs to have a bit more balance. My wife ordered the curry chicken that the wiater raved about. Last time we'll order the chicken option at a restaurant. it was ok, but honestly, not that great. Not enough curry flavor, and the bones were in. At a place like this, I know cooking on the bone is best for flavor, but debone before serving it. I was fortunate enough to have an amazing option of a 5oz filet with bread pudding, and let me tell you, if that is ever a special again order it. The thing that I do love about this place is the chef. He has a rotating menu every week where he comes up with his own items and makes them for a limited time. Super awesome. The night ended poorly though. They made up for a mistake, which I appreciated, but our creme brulee not only took at least 30 min to come out after ordering, but was way overcooked and not great. Overall, above average compared to normal restaurants, but in reality this is not that. If I spend $200 on a meal, I better be blown away, and I wasn't sadly. average for this kind of place. Had a delicious meal when I was visiting town a few weeks ago. I was traveling with a 3-year-old and they were super accommodating with my daughter which is always a plus. I got the peach margarita which was a bit too peach liquor tasting for me. The food was delicious. We started with the whipped goat cheese and it was amazing. I highly recommend it. The beet salad was yummy, and for my main event I got the duck. The duck was cooked perfectly, but it's presentation was a tad bit on the sweet side for me. In general, I liked the restaurant. If you are sensitive to salt, steer clear of Juniper's. We were visiting Tulsa from Dallas and were excited to try a farm-to-table "fine dining" experience. However, from the food to service, nothing was $$$ worthy. The bf and I decided to share the New Zealand lamb shanks (seasonal), grilled asparagus, and their tasting menu, which consists of whipped goat cheese, seasonal salad, seared trout, beef stroganoff, and chocolate pie. We made it clear that we'll be sharing everything so that we can try as many dishes as possible. The best 2 plates were whipped goat cheese and seasonal salad. The bread that came with the whipped goat cheese, however, were blackened on the edges. I've never been served such charred bread by anyone aside from myself - when I over toast my bread.. removing the black pieces was easy enough and the salami and goat cheese combo was heavenly! The seasonal salad was fresh and the dressing refreshing, though a tad too salty for my liking. It wasn't enough to disrupt the dish so it was 4/5. The asparagus was inconsistently delicious - my first bite was overpowered by the taste of black pepper, but the bite with lemon zest was much better. The meal was downhills from there. The trout and the vegetables that came with it were much too salty. The kale was rubbed in salt and we both lost our appetite after. The server picked up the much untouched plate, asked whether the dish was not to our liking, to which we provided honest feedback. She apologized and brought the plate back with no offer of replacement or even substitution. Nothing to make up for the fact that we were dissatisfied with the dish. The lamb shank shared the same fate with overly salty rub. The grilled carrots that came with it were amazing. The theme seemed to be seasonal veggies. But wait, when I inquired about how the seasonal veggies (a side dish on the menu) are prepared, I was told that they're currently corns and peas. The beef stroganoff that everyone raved about could've been delicious, but we were unable to discern as our taste buds were bombarded by salt. The chocolate pie was a hit for the bf. I'm not generally a fan of pies so I'll withhold judgment on this plate. The servers did a good job timing the first 2 courses. However, when it came to the main plate, beef stroganoff, we were provided with only the dish and no additional plates for sharing. This level of thoughtfulness should be a given at a "fine dining" restaurant but perhaps I am asking for too much, as family style may not be typical at fine dining restaurants. I've had 3 meals that I would consider fine dining before tonight. Based on my limited time dining experience and quite extensive dining experience, this was by far the worst dining experience we've had to date. If it's up to me, I would not label this place as "fine dining". Parking - street or paid parking lot None of the servers/waiter/waitresses had masks on. read more

A good experience. Very nice ambiance, good drinks, and delicious food. Had the tasting menu in November with wine pairings and enjoyed it, but was not overly impressed. Altogether a good experience, just not 5 stars in my book. The best - the grilled beef tenderloin was a perfect medium rare with a delicious char. The potato croquettes were excellent and the mushrooms complimented both well. The chocolate pie was also fantastic (it might have benefited from a little salt in the crust to cut some of the sweetness, but that's a little bit-picky). The good - the wine pairings were good on their own and complimented each dish well. The flavor of the risotto. The whipped goat cheese was good, but was very straight-forward. The unimpressive - the texture of the risotto was like porridge, with the grains falling apart. The roasted beet salad was one note - tasting more like pickled beets and little else. Ok so first off this kitchen can spin out some food reeeeallly fast! The chefs appetizer was pretty good but I can't remember it's name.. it was basically a pickle with some other things... my only complaint was I had a hard crunch of something that could have chipped a tooth.. So I tried the stroganoff and the noodles were delicate and the ribeye was melt in your mouth awesome! But the sauce was just missing something . Don't get me wrong I used the bread to eat up as much as I could but I felt it was lacking something.. the wife got king salmon and it was really good and hot which was a nice change. Meaning it literally came off the grill and hit our table... not sitting st a window cooling for 10 minutes like other food chains. We also tried the cheese plate as an app and we weren't a fan of the pimento salmon spread? Or was it hummus? I don't like either but it was kinda fishy. The meats and cheese were good but could have had just a little more.. ver tastey and we loved the Dijon. I can't give this place a 4 because the menu seems to lack options that I would want to eat and the price seems to be a bit steep for what you get. Absolutely no one was in there. We couldn't even sit at the bar. Not sure why they couldn't take us in. No waiters? No cooks? No food? Lights out? I've eaten at ALOT nicer places. If you're in the area Brooks restaurant is across the street and Mi cocina is also down the street. Can't go wrong with either. read more
