Didn't have unsweetened iced tea -- which is a major flaw for me. (They had a huge separate menu for alcoholic drinks. They could have at least had unsweetened ice tea. I'd even take a bottle of Gold Peak zero sugar.) Service was great! Nice clean appearance, great decor. Food was OK. My friend and I had the oyster basket and the tilapia basket. The flavors didn't wow us, but were just OK. Nothing major to complain about except no unsweetened iced tea. We didn't try any of the steamed seafood, so we may have enjoyed that. Because I usually comment on accessibility I'll note that handicap parking spaces were nearby, and there were no curbs or steps to climb to get into the restaurant. Chairs at the tables were lower than average so they could be a problem for some people. This was Saturday lunch in Jan. 2022. Although the website says proof of vaccination required (something that attracted me to the restaurant), no one asked to see proof of vaccination. Then although there were few people in the restaurant, they sat another party at the booth right next to us, and a third party at the booth in front of that one. There were plenty of other empty tables and booths. We could have all been spread out. I don't get it. Why advertise that vaccination is required, then not check for proof of vaccination and sit people close together? read more

I have ordered carry out several times since the restaurant opened a few years ago. I've only had the tilapia and maybe chicken once or twice. The food is always great, even the sides. I usually get steamed broccoli on the side. It's a decent portion, and cooked to perfection. Finally, the prices are reasonable, and discounted if you order before 3pm. read more

Service was good. Friendly and helpful. Food was just ok and a bit pricey for what you get. The aromas filling the air were divine, but surprisingly the flavors didn't match. Thick crunchy breading, while not greasy, was very bland and covered some very mushy, unseasoned oysters (probably not fried fresh) & other seafood varieties. The boiled stuff was too salty. The fries weren't crispy, kinda cold & likely were your run of the mill frozen crinkle cuts...sadly not a lot of flavor. Calamari was hot, fresh, and crispy but greasy and not much for 9 bux. Corn on the cob, also likely frozen especially given the season, wasn't too tasty either. Tiny boozy drinks. We ate in and were surprised by paper plates & plastic utensils for place settings. At those prices, real dishware & utensils would have been a plus. The picnicware made our experience feel rather fast foodish. (Things might be altered in this time of COViD as a precaution, but this is the only sit-down experience during the pandemic where we were served with paper plates & plastic utensils. All other restaurants have used actual dishes & utensils.) It's really a cute neighborhood joint & generally clean & bright. Good enough to satisfy a seafood craving if you don't wanna drive far but not worth a long trek. Unfortunately, the total sum of all the food we got was not scrumptious, out of this world, mouth-watering to support the bill at the end of the meal. The place is empty and staff was friendly upon arrival. I ordered two crab legs that came along with two boiled potatoes and a piece or corn. I chose the spicy option. The crab legs were underwhelming, but When when I got to the second one it was not fresh. I immediately informed the server who took the food back to the kitchen and said nothing could be done about it. I asked to speak with the manager and a young woman came by, I informed her of the matter, and she said she was just now being informed about it. I told her that I was not trying to dine and dash, however the second crab leg was not fresh. Your server informed me that I would be charged any way, which I am not going to fight you on however I will do what I have to do on my end which is file a report with Health and human services who handles their licensing, then file another complaint with the better business bureau, and lastly leave this yelp review. The manager advised me that I wouldn't be charged for the second crab leg however when the bill came back my card was billed for the full amount. Looking back at it I wish I had taken a picture of the crab leg to show 75 percent of it was intact. Anyway what is done is done, as I was leaving i informed the manager that I paid the bill. I left more than a 20% gratuity. And I will explain why later, but I did write on the tab that they better hope that I don't get sick because I will sue the establishment. And I will. I blame the owners for having ill trained staff and managers that do not know how to handle such matters. On my way out the manager informed me that she was on the phone with the owner which was laughable because they had already rung me up. I blame the owner and kitchen for selling seafood that isn't fresh. And lastly, I blame myself for eating in an empty hole in the wall (which by the way whole in the walls are normally hidden gems, just not this one). The seafood isn't fresh, the foot isn't great, managers and staff staff lack training, accountability, morals and integrity and that is a reflection of the owners. If you dine here and the food tastes funny, it's because it does taste funny. Take pictures and send the food right back. You can also report this establishment to the local authorities: Health and human services 240-777-3986. While that won't make up for your bad experience, the surprised inspections will force them to be up to code. Also- if you drink here stick to bottles, don't order mix cocktails, that should have been my number one indication that it would only go downhill from there. *** update! This restaurant is very weird and unethical. I wish I screen grabbed the comment, but one of their employees or themselves commented on this post to say they saw me eat all the crab legs and they were sitting behind me. Absolutely NO ONE but an Asian family was sitting a whole table away. Be smarter when you post. Ordered online last Friday, I randomly came across on Yelp. Seem like all the seafood in the Rockville area was a little over price. This place was perfect! From the price to the amount of food given to the seasoning of the food. This is my new seafood spot and I don't mind driving 15 minutes to go get it. When I got there the food was ready, it comes in this cute reusable bag. From the moment you walk in the door you'll know this was worth the parking lot madness. Hostess, didn't catch the name, is very nice and courteous. Our server, Maria is one of the highlights of our experience, she went above and beyond to make us feel welcome! The great: Snow crab legs were phenomenal, fried shrimp was very well enjoyed by my fiancée as well as the corn and potatoes inside of the steamed bag. Gumbo and sausage were both decent, although the gumbo could of had more seasoning. The not so great: Blue Hawaiian was overly sweet for my taste, my sweetheart enjoyed it. The pies (cheesecake and key lime) I'm guessing were not made in house, they tasted as if they were possibly frozen and/or brought in from somewhere else. I tried some seafood spot in silver spring in the other side of town. I don't think I ordered the right thing because it was definitely unseasoned. I had to ask for old bay and something I ordered came out cold (the mozzarella sticks) they had to drop them again. The wings didn't taste like anything and the calamari was light skinned and had no seasoning. I said I would come back before writing this, but with everything going on in the world I may not make it back anytime soon. I would try it again and order something else. read more

I usually have a favorite go to for boils. I was in the area and decided to stop by. The customer service was great. Because Of COVID you can take food and drinks to go. I order 1/2 shrimp with the head and half sausage with the juicy special sauce. It was good, not the best I've had. The price was $15 and it came with 2 potatoes and 1 piece of corn. Their boil has lemon in it so it may have thrown me off a little. Still not a bad place to try especially for the price. Also the take out bags are plus - I was impressed by it! I think this is one of the best Cajun seafood in Silver Spring! My boyfriend doesn't like garlic, but he ate all the food I ordered like a champion lol. And that says a lot!
