Let me tell you up front, their humongous burger feeds 2. It it delicious, with sauce,cheese,lettuce, tomato and a side of of crispy parmesan polenta fries. You dip them in this fiery hot sauce, and let them take you places. So great burger but too big for one, and the drumsticks had a great spice going as well. I have only been to this Fogo de Chao location for holidays so my view may be a little skewed than going on any other ordinary evening. Despite the fact that both times I have visited it has been either Thanksgiving or Christmas, the quality of the food has been excellent both times. The meats are really well cooked, and I like that you can specify how well cooked you want your slice of red meat. The salad bar has a great variety of different items and it is always nice to mix up your meat with well, not meat. The molten lava cake is also outstanding if you somehow have room for dessert. I had to roll myself out after eating it, but it was worth it. The only meh part about the experience is the service. Granted, I have only been to this location when its been crazy busy. Both times I have arrived at least 5 minutes early for my reservation and had to wait for 15 minutes to be seated. The most recent I was there I ordered a glass of wine and it never came. It was a bit disappointing, but am not faulting them at all given they were dealing with a holiday crowd. read more

There's a couple parking garages around and some street parking. We parked in a garage and walked over. We did make a last minute reservation but didn't have any issues with getting the reservation itself. We were sat pretty quickly and someone came by to see if we wanted mimosas maybe 5 minutes in. Another 5 minutes and we were poured water but no one came to our table whatsoever. I had to stop the hostess to notify a server for us to order our drinks and for the churrasco experience. The rotation od the select meats was fine, we barely saw our server, asked if we wanted the pao de queijo (cheese bread), polenta and bananas. They didn't offer the mashed potatoes. I mentioned that I had the member reward for half off the churrasco price and someone stopped by and asked if we were ready for the check and said he would have me write down the number to look it up. He came back 5 minutes later and just handed the check and walked off. It wasn't till out server came back and asked if the reward had been applied when it was taken care of. I'm still confused how Fogo de Chão stays this crowded, because there is no way the food we dined on is what everyone has been bragging about. For a place that stays packed like it's giving out free rent, the food was shockingly underwhelming. We came in on a Saturday evening to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary and the experience was horrible! Depending on the cut, the meats were pretty good and had an okay flavor, however, EVERY SINGLE side dish we ate was horrible! They were all cold and flavorless. It made no sense to me why all the side dishes were placed in the center of the room on some sort of chilled salad bar. Buffet anything is NEVER a go-to for me. The side dishes that were delivered to our table weren't cold, but equally a disappointment!! We splurged on the lobster mac and cheese, and boy was that a mistake! It was thick, flavorless and overpriced. At this point, I think people just come here so they can say they went--because the flavors surely didn't convince me. The meats were rotating through the dining room like they were on a strict schedule to disappoint everyone equally. For these prices, I expected at least one bite to change my life. Instead, I was changing my mind about why I even walked in. It was extremely chaotic and noisy, we couldn't even have a conversation with one another. Loud conversations bouncing off the walls, people squeezing by our table nonstop, and simply no privacy to even attempt to enjoy your time here. Everyone was literally sitting on top of each other. Towards the end of this horrible dinning experience, I visited the ladies room. It clearly hadn't been cleaned all day. Paper towels overflowing from the trash can, bathroom stall missing toilet tissue, paper towel dispenser missing paper towels, just a mess!!! I had to inform the hostess that the restroom was a mess and needed attention ASAP! At this point, I knew it was time for us to leave. This review is in NO way a reflection of the service we received by our server, Jeffrey and his team,Thuan and Diana. He was attentive, explained the entire process to us from start to finish and was very friendly. He did a wonderful job. The only flicker of positivity we could agree on during this dinning experience. I've visited other Fogo de Chão locations in the past, so I was excited to introduce the restaurant to my husband. This Bethesda location, located within the Pike & Rose shopping and dining district, is easy to find, and patrons have easy access to parking in the surrounding garages. As always, the food is great! Waiters walk throughout the light-filled and spacious restaurant, offering cuts of various meats to patrons. Diners also have access to the Market Table, where they can choose from different salads, breads, vegetables and stew. The only downside to my experience was the lack of service. Our waiter seemed to disappear after taking our orders and only reappeared after we requested our check from another member of the waitstaff. Don't get me wrong, we weren't needy, but it would have been nice if the waiter asked if we wanted water refills or if everything was okay. Since my original 1-star lunch review, I've given this location more chances - one dinner and several happy hours. I've actually steered family and friends away from doing the full churrasco here because of my experiences. But I do like this chain and have been to many locations over the decades as Fogo de Chao gives me nostalgia as one of my first fancier dining experience. Dinner service: Still disappointing. I asked for medium rare, kept getting medium well or well done. Servers insisted on serving me first, even when I clearly asked for medium rare and my friend asked for medium. When the meats finally hit that perfect center cut, I'd either get brushed off or they'd try to spin me a well-done side until I stopped them. One server even snapped, "Oh, you mean rare!" No, sir - I know my steak doneness, and judging by the pile of well-done meat on my plate, you don't. My favorite bacon-wrapped filet? Dry, with all the bacon flavor burnt off. Salad bar? Wilted arugula and sad sides, even with diners still paying full price an hour before closing. Another 1-star churrasco experience here. Happy hour: The saving grace (4 stars) for this location! Great $6 bar bites, free cheese bread, $10 cocktails, and a nice ambiance. The $10 Picanha Burger looks like a deal but tastes flavorless - surprising for a Brazilian steakhouse! I make better patties at home and the menu said ground in house. Even other guests complained about bland lamb chops next to me. But otherwise the other bar bites hit the spot, and the crème brûlée cheesecake on the regular menu is a standout (and I'm picky with cheesecake since I make a mean one myself!). Overall: Churrasco here is charcoal and servers were rude and gaslighting me. Happy hour is value and bartender was always great. Combining both, I raise my review from 1 star to 2. We took friends' advice on food strategy (this is definitely a food strategy place). Get a pile of greens and unusual items from the big table...along with items that might go well with seared meat. Roasted garlic cloves, peppers, Manchego cheese, Brazilian street corn. Then eat all the greens leaving space for meats. Oh yeah the enormous broccoli, maybe some asparagus. Then MEAT. So much delicious meat. Filet mignon, roast lamb, crusted pork, top sirloin, bottom sirloin, bacon wrapped steak, lamb chops...geez. But you know what? It was all delicious. Of all of the Fogo locations around the DMV (and also Atlanta), this one was the best experience. I brought someone here to celebrate a birthday and they absolutely loved it. The food was perfectly cooked and the customer service was exceptional. They even gave us a free dessert for the birthday which was very kind. Every server that I interacted with was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is busy but they have it under control and it never felt hectic. For the amount of food we ate the full churrasco experience was a great value! First visit to any restaurant in this chain, and it did not disappoint. It was super busy because of Veterans Day - kudos and thank you very much for the generous discount - yet, managers Luis and Fabio were excellent; coming over several times to check, even taking the time to explain the process of how certain cuts of meat can be challenging to cook to perfection. Wait staff were super attentive to our preferences and consistently brought over our choice of meats straight from the grill. The deserts were heavenly and perfect bookends to a great evening of amazing food with friends, and wonderful hospitality. I have been here many times. The market table is reliably good. On weekends for brunch they have an omelette station. The meats are hit and miss. Sometimes the same cut is delicious, flavorful, tender. But then during the same sitting that same cut can be tough and bland. I find there is quite a bit of variance in how each hunk of meat is cooked. If you don't like a piece of meat just ask for another cut and this time it could be a lot better. The service is not the best. They get busy. They aim to please but it might take a few tries to get their attention. However, they do aim to please and will try to make it right. The happy hour bar area is a favorite for me during the week. They have excellent happy hour options. I enjoy the market table foods a lot. I was extremely excited to join Fogo for their National Caipirhina Day last Thursday. The closer location, Baltimore did not have reservations almost a month prior but Bethesda did is so I trecked on down with some friends after work. The caipirinha is a Brazilian cocktail that's made with cachaça, lime, sugar, and ice. There were ou can see on the menu the multiple choices they had to choose from. I decided to go with the strawberry hibiscus and mango at first. Realizing I needed to aqctually try the original, I made my way over to the bar where the bartender who was very rhythmic with his mixing skills, gave me some knowledge about the rum used for the cocktail and I choose the top shelf for it and it did not dissapoint. We were given a lot of hors d'oeuvres like their infamous pão de queijo, grilled cheese with honey, polenta, charcuterie selection that consisted of cured meats like prosciutto, salami, and chorizo, as well as cheeses; chicken and beef sliders as well as a Caesar salad. There was a lot of management on hand to make sure everything ran smoothly and to let us know they were there to help us out in any way possible. I was able to request the meat they provided us for the evening without bacon and I highly appreciated that. We were all seated at tables so there wasn't a lot of mingling going on which was something I expected it to be since it was labeled a bar event. I have seen these events offered before but this was not very first time participating and I would go back for another. read more

Dining experience: 0 stars, there were fruit flies flying all over our table. I killed two, one that was all over my friend's plate and another that was on the yellow pepper on my plate. We had reservations, but the check-in process was disorganized. Guests with later reservations were seated ahead of us, and when we raised this, the host insisted we had arrived later. We explained we had been standing there for 15 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us. The bar area had trash left behind from a previous diner. It was still there when we left two hours later. Service was poor. We ordered simple drinks - canned soda and club soda - and did eventually receive them, but only after an exceedingly long wait, even though multiple staff members and the manager asked what we needed. Food quality was unexpectedly low. We've eaten here before, and normally only the occasional cut is tough. This time nearly every meat cut was under-seasoned and extremely tough, except the sliced lamb. It was disappointing enough that we didn't want to keep eating. The staff were pleasant and seemed to work well together, but the execution of service was poor. Watching the overall operation, including management, it appeared the location is not well run. This was not our first visit, but it will be our last. With new competition coming, we'll go there instead. This was disappointing on so many different levels. My fiancé and I came in for a celebratory dinner. Despite having a reservation the host took us to a table right behind the bar. For context we arrived at 5:45 and the restaurant was not busy as this was prior to the dinner rush. The meal and service were not great. Either completely dry or completely undercooked meat. The worse part is that they are predatory in the way they serve their cuts of meat. They will bombard you with cheap fatty cuts (sirloin/picanha/pork/chicken) and only serve you premium if you ask for it directly (filet/ribeye/lamb). We waited over an hour for a decent cut to be served and left feeling unsatisfied. The cocktails were sloppy and came out separately even though ordered together. The brûlée to end the meal was left after a couple of bites. Come here if you want to pig out on poorly cooked cheap cuts of meat and don't appreciate actual quality. We came to Fogo on a Sunday early evening with a group of 2. My husband frequents here more than I do, but we come together quite often too. Tonight he was inquisitive and asked the man that brings the meat around about the process. He had seen a video that explains that the people that bring the meat to your table are also the ones seasoning and cooking the meat. Joseano was eager to tell us that he not only seasoned the meat, but he was actually the butcher. He said that he has worked for Fogo for 13 years. We always see him here and prefer his service over most others. Now we know why!! His meat is always cooked to perfection and seasoned even better. Through a long set of circumstances, my wife and I wound up with no one else coming to Thanksgiving dinner, and decided not to cook. We decided to do dinner at Fogo. However, the staff coming along with small bites in the waiting area was a nice touch, and definitely made the wait pretty nice. But, it was also a short wait. Thanksgiving, the place was packed! Had dinner here tonight. We got seated really fast. Food arrived quickly. The meats offerings are great and side dishes are delicious! My highlight of the night for the side dishes are the cheese breads and the polenta fries. Service was spot on! they know exactly when to refill my drink order and clean out the table with wonderful speed. Wait staff are great! The downfall was when it's time for dessert. IMO desserts are something that should help ended your meal nicely. We ordered a papaya crème to dine in and a crème brûlée to go. We waited for a long while (close to 20 mins) for desserts to arrive. We had to have someone to check in for us. I also overheard a separate waiter (who took our orders) telling another waiter that we are still waiting for our desserts. The waitstaff knew we were waiting and I appreciated that they check in for us. When the desserts finally arrived, the crème brûlée in a to go box looked like someone had dropped the box on the floor. I asked the waiter what happened. They explained it's hard to unmold a crème brûlée as a take out dessert. I completely understand. But I would've preferred them to tell me that beforehand it will look like this (see picture) or just tell me crème brûlée is not for take out so I can avoid the heart break over this poor presentation. Fruits were all over the place and the custard is so broken it doesn't look appetizing. And the let down also came from I waited 20mins for this. I talked to the manager. She was very understanding about this and even gave us an exchange of the dessert. We asked for a slice of cheesecake to go instead so we don't have to wait any longer. Like I said, I have no complaints with the waitstaff and service for the night. They did very well. But I really wish the kitchen put a little more effort on their timing and presentation on food since it will directly impact a customer's experience. Please don't ignore the power of desserts. They help customers wrap up a perfect dinner. Don't let a poor presentation affect an otherwise wonderful meal/night for a patron. I'd still want to come back, but I will avoid desserts for a long while until they step up their game. read more
