After Driving by this place after so many years, I finally made time to check them out. They are a buffet style restaurant with a bunch of really tasty food and a good variety to choose from. They sell a bunch of snacks from Brazil. They also have a bar section if that is what you are looking for a bunch of food, but my favorite was the steak(cost extra). Think of this place like a family owned fogo de chao but for half the price! The only reason why I don't give this a perfect score is because it is a very confusing when you walk in there is no set menu no set price and I wasn't sure if I ate first or paid first so after asking for some help, I finally figured out that you eat first. If you're looking to try some new food or like Brazilian style food, this is a good choice.

Got the Franco Catupiry Brazilian Pizza and two beers on a Groupon and loved it. It was so filling we had leftovers for the next day. The staff were friendly and the service was pretty fast. The ambiance is quite casual. Would love to try the buffet sometime but would certainly have the pizza as well as it is so filling and unique.

One plate from the buffet! The Lasagna was the best I've ever had in the U.S! I want to go back for it!

This place is definitely the true meaning of a hidden Gem! Don't waste your time reading! Lol, just go, and you won't regret it! Where do you think yourself going???? You still need to read my review, vote for it, and pray for me! Lol So let me start by explaining that they have 2 options : the buffet only or the buffet + the BBQ ! This is my second time going, and each time I think of getting the BBQ option - ( which smells amazing!!! And served right away from the grill , you have to walk to the guy who carve it for you , there are no gauchos there) - I end up getting the buffet only because the buffet already have multiple chicken items, multiple beef items, multiple pork items and seafood! What else would you need? But no, honestly, I want to add the BBQ the next time! I'm actually encouraging you to get it, too! Did I mention the lasagna? LASAGNA! TRUE LASAGNA! drowning in cheese, has the right amount of meat and sauce! Not drenched in tomato sauce! I loved the salad bar and specifically the potato salad!! Mmmm! Nostalgia! My mom makes something similar to it, and I haven't tasted my mom's food since 2012 ! Hopefully, we will meet again soon! :) Pão de queijo! If you know it you know it! If you don't , it's the cheese bread! Yummy! The only issue is that it's sitting on the buffet, and it wasn't warm, but here is the foodie tip ;) Fill a plate - with only what you need - of Pão de queijo and there is a microwave at the restaurant that you can use and reheat those little foxes ;) I can't wait to go there again! By the way, they have a huge space, and it's a great option for large groups ! Not fancy but very very clean and very authentic! Amazing customer service! Try it , vote for my review , and write to me your opinion and comments in the compliments or messages, and don't forget to .. pray for me ;)

Hate not having found this place earlier. Went for their lunch buffet over the weekend and it was truly amazing. Food was fresh, options were plenty and staff was very friendly. I haven't been to a Brazilian restaurant in 10 years and this place brought back some good memories. There were many dishes that I haven't tried before, so, I totally relished the buffet. I avoid some meats. The trays at the buffet weren't labeled so I couldn't find the names or ingredients but the staff helped me when needed. You can do all you can eat buffet or go by the pound. And you can include or exclude the BBQ. I liked the options. The place was super clean and well maintained for a buffet and can't wait to go back.

Great for my Brazilian husband but also great for me! You can get buffet style food or pay by weight and my food was only $13, over a pound of food! Everything I ate was good: roasted vegetables, pumpkin with some kind of sauce, fried yuca, plantains, rice, chicken and stroganoff. It was hard to pick what to eat, I will go back and try more dishes!

We were the first customers when they 1st opened at 11am on a Monday morning. They have 2 huge dining areas inside but we decided to sit where the food/payment counter was. The restaurant was very clean and the food selection were great! It was our first time at a lower scale Brazilian buffet eatery as compared to the likes of Fogo de Chao and Texas de Brazil and boy do we love it here. They even have a free self serve coffee counter. I just wish they have or serve Brazilian desserts as part of the buffet and not something you have to buy separately.

Why didn't I find this place earlier?!? I love Brazilian steakhouses but they are usually expensive. Obviously I can't compare this place with Fogo de Chao or Chima, but it's affordable for a good amount of meat options and side dishes for the buffet. When you come in, you pay first. They have 2 options: buffet and pay by pounds. I chose the buffet as I wanted to try everything here and I was starving. There are a variety of side dishes to choose from. Then you would walk to the meat station and the guy will cut whatever meats you want m. They have 2 types of steak, oxtail, chicken wrapped in bacon, chicken wings, chicken hearts, and sausage. I absolutely loved the food and I wouldn't hesitate to come back again. The only con is parking as it might be hard to get in and out.

Have I ever even eaten Brazilian before? A question that I asked myself as soon as I entered the cozy little restaurant tucked in-between a Bolivian restaurant (El Catrachito) and a "Tea Spa"... whatever that is. The inside is a bit of an ode to the late seventies. Or at least that's what it felt like from the bit I know about Mid Century design. The restaurant is filled with a generous of amount of walnut-colored spindle back chairs, the front door is flanked by square glass blocks, and the floor is tiled with those lovely burnt sienna clay-colored tiles with smaller brown accent tiles in between. The buffet that is the focal centerpiece of the restaurant is half dedicated to cold salads, half to warm dishes, with an added side of miniature empanada like items. The cold salads side is filled with mostly healthy salads, barring a cubed ham and veggie salad that looked fairly heavy on the mayo. I dotted my plate with a cucumber and tomato salad mainly to add some green to the plate and oddly found out while tasting it later that it seemed to not have any sort of dressing on it. Now onto the hot side, where I really did some work. Rice and beans start the voyage, and all along that journey you'll find fried almost cookie cut square pieces of fish, roasted hen pieces, a stew made up of kidney beans tripe kielbasa and veg, polenta, and braised brisket surrounded by a rotini pasta. The hen was quite delicious ( a bit overcooked), but the flavor shined. Rice was fluffy and perfect for soaking up the generous amount of sauce from the thin stew. The stew was one of my favorite dishes. I've tried tripe once before and was completely turned off. I decide to give it a second chance, and I'm very glad I did. The brisket was likely my favorite dish of the lunch. Beautifully cascading pieces of both fatty and lean brisket were soaking in a savory sauce that I couldn't even begin to guess what it contained. The meat was tender, toothsome, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. And you're probably asking yourself. What about that empanada station? What happened there? Why did he omit that?! Well, me and my friend actually did forget that section and had to go back and grab some tastes. The buffet is priced out per pound, so there's that just FYI. But at $9.25 per pound, you can assure yourself that you're getting one heck of a deal for the quality of the food. 3 things sat under the heat lamp at the empanada station. 1. Small tear drop shaped croquetas filled with chicken 2. Miniature balls of pan de queso 3. Football shaped fried meat "Kibe" balls I've done you a favor and actually put those in order of preference. I didn't hate the Kibe balls, but in comparison to the other too, I felt like it was out shined. While we were eating a gentleman had ordered (what looked to be) the grilled chicken plate from the a la carte menu. The plate came out with a generous amount of protein. A seperate giant filled plate of rice and beans came on it's side. AND it appeared on one of those fajita metal steaming plates... so everyone in the room instantly wanted it. You can put anything on one of those metal fajita plates and I'll want that meal. Except for maybe waterchesnuts... literally, put anything else on one of those plates and I'm here for it. Alternatively, if fajitas didn't come on that plate... think of how many fewer people would order fajitas. Service was excellent. Just have to add that in. The woman who was running the front counter and buffet took the time to explain how everything worked, and told us what was in the various balls at the empanada station. Very warm and welcoming service. Can't wait to go back and taste test other Brazilian food favorites. I'm pretty sure that was the first time I've ever eaten Brazilian Food. You can color me impressed.

It was awesome to see the diversity of the diaspora from the African continent (East and West Africa) the Caribbean/Latin America, and America all in one safe space enjoying themselves without the performative and obnoxiousness from others I would give them that. The Billy Holliday mural and the interior design has a nice sleek, New American vibe. My problem is the service, the cost, and the food although solid, I cooked a brunch the following day myself not to brag (scrambled eggs and cheese, friend potatoes with diced green peppers and onions) that was masterful in comparison to the gingerbread style big ole French toast and fancy "scrambled eggs and cheese" this spot has. The service charge was ridiculous as my mom's bill was 70 plus bucks for just the seafood shrimp and grits which was nice, a very sweet pre-diabetic lemonade, and bread pudding that was like bougie Georgetown prices with the dominant culture. I paid 40 dollars (Hairstylist from Baby Boy!) for French toast, scrambled eggs with cheese and lemonade. The food is nice and all but nothing to die for. We came for the vibe, culture, and atmosphere also, but we do prefer the chains of Dennys and I-hop if I am not doing the cooking which is most of the time. The server would dirty mack and take a while flirting with women at the bar and playing around with staff, and I had to give a clinical gaze with my glasses and hand signal for him to return. We did ask up front about service charge and gratuity included from the beginning but they have a very Southern slow pace here that I agree with others and I am a very patient man and notice that. It can take a while to get your checks, get change, just other tasks that you would think would be handled more efficiently. The place attracts the social media crowd, with professional pictures, the glitz, the glamor the Hollywood red carpet of the DMV, but the structural integrity of the pricing, service, and experience needs to step its game up in the worst way. We certainly see this place being a bit turned up and precarious in later hours. The closest parking that is reliable enough is the Safeway garage so it is not the most convenient, where as at least Matchbox has the Wayne and Colesville garages to park at and then enter. It was nice to support the Black owned establishment but it is a 1 and done spot. Majic 102.3 put in the hype a couple of years ago, but I found the truth, no thanks, it is a performative culture that still has that ole Georgia Ave. street culture.

Today we took a drive to Kaldi's to order some breakfast to-go. The restaurant was really packed but the ordering process was actually pretty smooth. The lattes sadly weren't anything special and could probably benefit from some cinnamon or a flavor of some sort to bring a little personality to the drink. To eat, we ordered their waffles (sorry for the to-go pictures) I ordered the sweet corn waffle and my boyfriend ordered the waffles with fresh berries. The waffles were PHENOMENAL!!!!!!!!! Probably the best and most creative waffles I've had in a long time. The sweet corn waffles were magical. The addition of jalapeño peppers perfectly balanced off the sweet flavor seeping through the waffles. It was beautifully paired. The waffles were also very creamy and soft. Only downside is that I didn't care for the random garnish of corn of top but I get the presentation. This might have been better if it was seasoned or sautéed but the random corn didn't add or take away from the dish. My boyfriend lovedddddd his waffles and berries and said that it was the perfect breakfast selection. I'll definitely come back to order more waffles but also wished that they had a way of conducting pick up through their online portal. As mentioned, it was packed in there but there were some nice seating around the restaurant so I assume that you'll need to get there really early in order to dine in.
