For a random lunch, I decided to try something a bit different after a seeing an email stating that Arepateca's food truck was going to be in the area. With four main arepas, the menu is pretty straightforward. I thought the names of the arepas were quite cute and very original. Such arepas include Porky Pine, Sweet Domino O'mine, Crunch Reina, and Brisket Caribe. For my lunch, I was feeling porky so I went the Porky Pine arepa. I have to admit that I have not consumed too many arepas, but I thought my arepa was tasty. The Porky Pine was about $14, which I thought was fair - I'm not really sure how this price compares to other arepa spots in the area. The Porky Pine arepa was stuffed with pulled pork, cheddar cheese, pickled red onions and included a pineapple habanero sauce. I thought the combinations of flavors were pretty good. However, I probably would have preferred another type of cheese (e.g., queso blanco) over the addition of cheddar cheese. I dunno, the cheddar cheese seemed to take away from the Latin vibes of the arepa. Like I said earlier, I'm not an expert of arepas so maybe cheddar is an legitimate selection for an arepa. If I visit the food truck again, I'll more than likely opt for no cheddar if I were to try the Porky Pine arepa again. All in all, a pretty decent place to get a quick bite to eat.

Their food is an absolute labor of love and a symphony of sight, sound, smell, and taste. Add to that friendly and kind service, and generous portions, and you've got the perfect receipt for soul nourishing food. Nom nom nom!

I placed an order on DoorDash and went to pick it up, parking was easy to find. It was my first time trying Arepas, the authentic Venezuelan dish & it was alright, it was filling for one but I did not enjoy the crispy skin; it was very salty for my liking. I did like that they use gluten free bread and it was a good mixture of creamy & crunchiness. You can tell chimichurri sauce is authentic by its acidity, it pairs well with any kind of meat especially grilled.

Amazing!!! I'm a GF girl that loves to try new things and I was fortunate enough to try Arepateca for lunch via their food truck and it didn't disappoint! I tried the brisket and Sweet O'Domino w/o cheese and they were so good. The brisket was so juicy and flavorful and the tomatoes and chimichurri complement it so well. The Sweet O'Domino was delicious as well and the black beans were creamy, smokey and savory and complemented well with the sweet and crunch plantain! The arepas were also cooked perfectly! I also tried the lemon cane and was fortunate enough to be given a sample in advance of making my decision. It was so tasty! The food, drinks, and service are 10/10 and I can't wait to have them again for lunch one day soon!

NOTE: You pick up your food at this location, but you need to order online via Door Dash, Grub Hub or Uber Eats. One of the staff greeted me, showed me the menu and explained that I needed to order online. This is a takeout-only place (so no place to sit). I ordered the vegetarian arepa because I really wanted some fried plantains. It had beans, queso, and plantains. It was fresh, delicious, and HUGE! Definitely recommend this place.

The business description states that they are in Pike and Rose, but the address in the Yelp profile is not (it looks like downtown Rockville) n? Where are they located?

Mario, thanks for pointing that out. We moved to Rockville a few months ago and I believe we hadn’t change the address here. We are in 627 LOFSTRAND ln, suite 627b. Rockville Md 20850

The inside is pretty…read moredark (which is fine with me, but a bit surprising that the owner would want it so dark), but on a nice evening (like tonight), the outside seating (small, only 4-5 tables) is delightful. Not fancy, but nice and comfortable tables with huge umbrellas to block the sun. The food here is good. In the past, we got the Platter for 2 ($27), which is a nice sized platter of wood fire grilled steak, chicken, sausage and shrimp with rice/beans/salad and tortillas. We couldn't finish it all and it was all delicious. No complimentary chips and salsa for the table, so tonight we ordered chips and guac to start. The guac was good with chunks of tomato, onion and avocado; it would have been nice to also get some salsa with it when you order the guac, but there's a separate charge for chips/salsa. For entrees, we got a Carne En Vara and Carne Asada. The En Vara is a skewer of chicken, beef, onion and green peppers, with rice/beans and a side order of arepitas (corn fritter). Everything was well prepared. I liked the arepitas. The Asada was a decent piece of beef that was well prepared. Came with rice and beans and flour tortillas. The service was very good. We were seated and received ice water promptly. The guac came out quickly as did the entrees, but not rushed. The server came by a couple of times to see how we were doing snd she refilled our waters. This is a "Latin" restaurant, and maybe I'm used to the ubiquitous Mexican restaurants that place salsa on the table, and I will say I missed it and didn't want to have to spend $3.95 for salsa. There were a couple of times when I would have liked to dip some of the meat into a sauce/salsa. They do put a bottle of Habanero hot sauce on the table when you sit down. The entrees tonight were good, but if you want to try the fire grilled meats, for value I recommend the Platter for 2.

My husband and I came here for lunch we got the rotisserie chicken(super juice and FLAVORFUL) with 2 sides and a carne asada. Needless to say, we both looked at each other and said " THIS IS OUR SPOT WE HAVE TO COME BACK!" And we sure did for dinner!!! The appetizer portions are bigger than most places tbh we got kind of full from them, we tried the chicken tacos and the yuca stuffed with chicken and cheese! Our servers were David and Henry, so kind, extremely friendly, made us feel at home and were constantly checking in on us to make sure we didn't need anything! They also gave us great recommendations. Such a great place!! Hidden gem

Unfortunately, my recent experiences at La Brasa have been very disappointing. The biggest issue has been the customer service. The person answering the phone has been consistently rude, has taken our orders incorrectly multiple times, and instead of trying to resolve mistakes professionally, argues with customers. That is simply not the level of respect or professionalism I expect from a business that has been part of the community for so many years. I have also noticed that the food quality has declined compared to what it used to be. It's disappointing because this restaurant once had an excellent reputation. I sincerely hope management addresses these concerns by improving customer service, training staff to communicate respectfully, and restoring the quality that made so many people loyal customers. I'd be happy to update my review if I see meaningful improvements.

Our bill was $160 for fries, salmon tiraditos, steak frites (42), seafood coconut rice, lemonade (5, maker have forgotten to mix in sugar so we just had lemon juice?), and the 7 reasons old fashioned (19). My steak was actually pretty good. The seafood coconut rice however was undercooked, we didn't get our dishes until almost an hour after ordering so maybe they had kitchen issues. It took so long we just ate the raw rice with seafood because we ain't waiting another hour. The seafood was very good. The regular old fashioned is better than the 7 reasons old fashioned. Imo they need to get block ice, this is made with regular cubes which melts very fast and gets watery. Best dish for me was the steak, it was very nicely seared. Not very busy on a Saturday night, very nice classy date vibes indoors. Our group sat on the patio, total bill was around 750 for 7 adults 3 toddlers.

I liked Seven Reasons (at its original location) so I decided to check this out with my husband on a Saturday night. Reservations were easy to get. The place itself is fine in terms of decor. Not high end but not bad. The women's restroom has two stalls that don't indicate whether someone is in there and they're heavy doors, which makes for a potentially awkward experience with you knocking and trying to ram down the door, just to find out no one is in there. But I digress... The food is sh*t, plain and simple. The ceviche is more like raw poke that's unseasoned. The prawns taste like they were sauced in baby food. What I thought would be the hero - the branzino- had weird and misplaced (in terms of taste) dollops of sweet pineapple, it was underseasoned (honestly, unseasoned), and there was a bed of greens (salad mix and herbs, many of which were wilted) on the side. Let me be clear: the food wasn't mediocre; it was bad. Highway robbery. A disgrace. An abomination. Even the drinks were bad. Their take on a gin and tonic is akin to spraying perfume in your mouth and then chasing it with flowers. One of the hosts tried to sell us on a bottle of white wine from Uruguay. We asked to try it and it was worse than 5 buck chuck from Trader Joe's. We passed. And service at other restaurants in the area is better, so I can't even give them high marks for that. One and done. Enjoy other people's money to keep this joke afloat.
