I knew The Red Bandana had vegan options but I had no idea how vegan friendly their menu truly is!…read moreEverything vegan is written in green font so you never have to ask for clarification on what the vegan options are. Additionally their whole shop is gluten free: it is truly a paradise for those with dietary restrictions. The shop has a very cozy environment. I could see someone easily getting lost in their book for hours at a table. What I loved the most was how many customers the owner greeted and knew personally! This bakery really gives off a vibe of being a beloved neighborhood gem. I ordered a chickpea scramble sandwich as well as a box of desserts. If you purchase 5 baked goods the 6th one is free! My chickpea scramble sandwich was delicious! I could not believe there were actually whole chickpeas in the scramble! I was expecting it to be just chickpea flour and it was clear a lot of work went into the scramble. The scramble was seasoned with curry powder which was a unique taste for a breakfast sandwich. The gluten free bread did fall apart, however, I was given reusable silverware with my meal that helped pick the pieces up. The only thing that would have made this sandwich better would be some sauce. It was a little dry for my preference and some hot sauce or vegan aioli would have made it perfect. I took home hamantaschen, a cinnamon roll, and a chickpea blondie. I loved all my treats! The hamantaschen taste just like the cookies I enjoyed as a kid. You would never know they are gluten free. The chickpea blondie reminded me of a pancake with a maple flavor coming through. I thought this treat was the perfect level of sweetness and was marked as sugar-free. The cinnamon roll is the best cinnamon roll I have ever enjoyed in Maryland! It warmed up perfectly at home and the flavors were decadent instead of sickly sugary. I should have purchased way more of them! I am so happy I finally visited this local bakery. I am certain I will become a regular as I attempt to try all of their vegan options.

It just isn't a holiday or birthday without a trip to Red Bandana Bakery. We love their cakes,…read morerolls, cupcakes, and cookies. This is a safe place for us, since my granddaughter is gluten intolerant and has Celiacs disease. Everything made here is gluten free. The service is amazing! Jamie, the owner, is the nicest person and the best baker. My granddaughter raves about her challah rolls. The ambiance is warm and welcoming. We are always happy and full after a trip to Red Bandana.

It was like running into a friend- The ambiance of the bakery reflects the craftsmanship behind the scenes- everything was esthetically inviting and pleasing- I had the pleasure of trying out one of their Greek products called Portokaloptia and oh my , I had to run back in just to compliment them. Incredibly savory, fresh, and light. I could have eaten 10 more and not feel bad about it. If you're one to support local families, THIS family owned bakery is the spot to get your sweets and other baked goods! - Warm Regards

Very neat, tidy establishment with attentive staff. There are so many options to choose from, but I…read morecame for the Middle Eastern pastries. I should've gotten the smaller box since it'll cost more and you pay by weight, but I tried many things like the Finger Baklava, Rice Cookie, Portokalopita cake slice, Chickpea Cookies, Bamieh, Zulbia, Diamond Baklava, and a Mini Rollet. My faves were the Portokalopita for its custard and slight orange flavor, the Mini Rollet (very simple yet tasty to me), Rice Cookie, and Chickpea Cookie. The chickpea cookie tasted exactly like an Indian sweet or cookie which I loved. I was a bit disappointed with the Zulbia, Bamieh, and Baklava. I expected a stronger rose flavor in the Zulbia and Bamieh. I am also used to Zulbia (or Jalebi) having saffron too. The Baklava was good, but not the best I've had- it was lacking rosewater or orange blossom essence. Overall, glad I came to sample a bunch. There's other pastries I'm still curious to try like the mango cake slice. For a middle eastern pastry review though, it was okay. Not bad.
