    BIG chicken burrito
    Malikah M.

Don't be fooled by the small spot, this place packs a punch. The price is worth all the food they give you. I ordered the chicken burrito and it was delicious. I highly recommend an additional salsa on the side to add that flavor kick with eat bite. The food being made to order keeps it fresh. The service is friendly and fast. You can also call ahead if you are I a rush. They have public parking across the street which allows you to run in and out.

    Breakfast Burrito and coffee

I had time to kill in downtown Bethesda. I searched yelp for a great breakfast place. I was not disappointed. The breakfast burrito with bacon was very good. The hot sauce was hot. The coffee was good. I appreciated that they pulled out creamer from the refrigerator instead of just leaving it on the counter like other places. Next time I will come back and try the burrito with chorizo sausage. The service was fast and friendly. Mexican ladies from the neighborhood came to get their breakfast. They chatted in Spanish with the staff and possibly the owner who was also from Mexico . This was a very good sign!

Taco Saturday! I was getting a haircut and I noticed the taco place on a side street. So, I walked over and ordered asada, el pastor and chicken tacos. All of them had a lot of flavor. The service was fast and they bring the food out to you. I enjoy the outdoors seating, but only when it's warm.

It's a cute place - walk up order. They have some outdoor seating (no indoor seating). Plenty of (metered) parking across the street. Staff was really nice. I ordered old bay fries and chicken fajitas. The fries were seasoned good (had a good crisp to it) but the amount wasn't worth the price. The presentation of the fajita platter was great; but I was bummed that it lack flavor :-(

Came here for lunch on a Monday around 11:30. This is a nice lunch spot! Wasn't super hungry so I just ordered two different tacos. The inside is small with a couple outdoor seating areas. The workers were nice and able to give recommendations. The menu had lots of options of tacos and burritos and sandwiches. Overall this hit the spot and the tacos had a lot of meat! A fair price ~$9 for both tacos! Nothing too crazy but a nice meal!

    Chilaquiles and frijoles

A real hidden gem! I stopped by Oliva's for breakfast this morning and ordered the chilaquiles. The egg was the perfect sunny side up, edges cooked and runny center. My frijoles were a nice fresh side. The bread pudding was a sweet and soft dessert for after. The owner, Emilio puts his culture and heart into the food. I think it's great the kitchen is open and you can see your food being made. Oliva's is a great stop for authentic Mexican breakfast/lunch to-go or taking a seat outside. You really feel at home here!

Great find! Awesome home style food at a fair price. Note: I ordered delivery and everything was well packaged and traveled well. Had the torta Milanese, which was filling and delicious- the chicken well fried Wouldn't have expected a casual lunch place to have a good dessert but the bread pudding was delicious. Outstanding value for large portions- total came to under $20 before tax.

Mid-munch. Had to slow down and use the fork.

I arrived an hour early for an appointment and decided to take a walk along Wisconsin Avenue, looking for a place to have breakfast and pass the time. That's when I noticed a taco shop -- it literally looks like it's housed in a converted residential garage from the 1900s -- just a block off the main street. The sign said "open," and I was in the mood for a breakfast burrito. Outside, there are two narrow picnic tables: one granite and the other a reclaimed log, framing the narrow entrance to the counter. Inside, I was welcomed and ordered a breakfast burrito with chorizo from the chalkboard menu fixed to the counter. I waited outside as takeout customers came and went; it's clearly a popular spot. My order was delivered in a bag with napkins, salsa, and a fork. Oliva Kitchen burritos are overstuffed, tasty gut grenades! A crispy toasted shell packed with red bliss hashbrowns, chorizo, tomatoes, onions, cheese, egg, and a creamy, flavorful sauce. A couple of guys across from me were raving about the barbacoa. They offer American options for breakfast and lunch to cater to everyone and have kid-friendly variations, so you could order for the family. This is not a sitdown restaurant, think takeout, working man, grub and go. I've got a hunch this place is a hidden neighborhood gem, and the guys manning the grill are master street taco chefs waiting to be discovered. They make a fantastic burrito, and I'll be coming back for the street and fish taco platter. Update coming soon!

New place across the street from the office. The two chicken taco platter was good. I really liked the beans that came with it. The rice was a little too sticky/moist for me. My coworker loved the guacamole, he said it was really spicy but good.

I also got the free guacamole for getting the app and that was a good addition to the spread, but the star was definitely the Carne Asada. It was just cooked really well. The flavor was amazing and I totally would go back to just get that again and the chips. The waitress was good. The ambiance is quite nice actually. And you can pick where you wanna sit and the degree of lighting. There were areas where it was better lit, and then there were areas that were more dimly lit and something in between. People seem to just be having a good time without much fuss. Bathrooms were clean. Parking isn't the easiest, street parking or find a garage, but it's also not too far from the Bethesda metro station. Hoping to come back, not too far in the near future!

I got the roast pork and you get plenty of chunks of meat throughout. Besides the meat, my favorite part honestly was the tortilla. It held up the contents of the burrita well! What could really help would be more meat options or offering some sauces on the side, especially for $14.99. It might not look big from the pictures, but the burrita was enough of a lunch for me. The construction partially blocks the view of the entrance from the rest of Bethesda Row, but I still see people finding it! It's a big spacious dining room inside, even if you close off the part of the area meant to host parties. The Tacombi decor actually does a really good job of transporting you somewhere else, in my view for a fast casual restaurant. This maybe legally problematic if it's not legally noticed in advance so patrons know of their legal obligation to pay before ordering. I didn't read any notice in the menu or in the restaurant. My friends and I were simply enjoying our drinks when a waitress named Libeth (a bottle girl) pushed one of my friends while moving through the crowded area. My friend reacted naturally to being pushed, without aggression or disrespect. After that interaction, Libeth appeared upset by his reaction and said something to him that I personally did not hear. A few moments later, she returned with two security guards and had us removed from the establishment without explanation or any attempt to communicate with us respectfully. When I tried to calmly ask what was happening and why such an extreme action was being taken, Libeth began screaming aggressively, saying: "Get the fuck out of here, bitch, get out." This situation was completely unacceptable and extremely unprofessional. We were humiliated and escorted out as if we had physically assaulted someone, caused a disturbance, or committed some serious misconduct, which never happened. We were simply customers there to enjoy the event, have drinks, and support the business. I do not understand how someone who is clearly not properly trained to handle high-stress customer service situations--especially during a crowded event like Cinco de Mayo--can represent a business where customer service should be a top priority. In a packed environment and dance floor setting, accidental contact between people can naturally happen without malicious intent. The behavior displayed by Libeth reflected extremely poor customer service, lack of professionalism, and a very low level of education in conflict resolution and customer interaction. No customer should ever be verbally abused, screamed at, or publicly embarrassed in this manner. Additionally, I am requesting a refund for the three tickets I purchased for my friends, as well as the drinks we paid for and were unable to finish because we were forced to leave the establishment without justification. If this matter is not resolved appropriately, I will proceed with disputing the charges with my bank as fraudulent in order to recover my money. Furthermore, I intend to report this terrible experience to consumer protection authorities if there is no proper resolution for my refund. If this employee behaved this way toward us without justification, it is very likely she may continue treating other customers the same way. I expect a prompt and professional resolution to this matter.
