After reading the reviews on yelp, I have been looking forward to dine at this establishment. A very small and quaint atmosphere. A small outside area for eating. Service was excellent. Now on to the food. The cheeseburger with bacon was scrumptious. The toppings where all fresh. The double patty meat was cooked to perfection and the bread was tasty. Another visit to Olivia's Kitchen and another satisfied belly. This time we got the bean & cheese burrito - a huge gordito filled to the brim with smooth black beans and creamy cheese and lots of rice, lettuce and tomato to keep my full until tomorrow. So on my way out of Weaver, I see this interesting "hole in the wall" place that is not pretentious so I stepped in. Prices, now mind you this is 2026 post pandemic after the inflation, the taco was 3-4 dollars. Tried one, and it was on point. With a lemon wedge and some sauces for like 4 bucks. Next time I came i, I ordered the lengua (ok), barbacoa (good) and the fish (good.) The food was excellent and authentic. The place is no frills but that's the authenticity and the charm. I don't know my tacos, but I know good food when I taste them and this is good stuff. This place at least beats the local "Fish Taco restaurant" into the trash. Will be back whenever I pass by. I was in the area for work and needed a quick bit and ohmygoodness thank god I tried this place. I went for the breakfast torta with chorizo and it was packed with flavor and did not skimp out on the toppings. Bread was soft on the inside and slightly crisp on the outside. I ordered over the phone for a quick pick up and it was ready like 10 minutes later. The place was a small little shop with some seating outside. It's a nice cozy spot with friendly workers. Oliva's is a hidden gem! The employees are always very friendly and the food is incredible. My favorite is the barbacoa taco but the breakfast burrito is a close second place. I love how cozy this spot is. You can see all of the hard work going on in the kitchen and it shows in the food. It's worth noting that there are a few picnic tables out front to eat or wait for your order but no tables inside. Good portion sizes and great customer service! I had been intending to try this place for years and finally got a chance to do so. The presumed owner is a great guy. Friendly and patient with answering my questions. I was there on Taco Tuesday for lunch so got a dollar off my single taco - reasonably priced and a dollar cheaper than a side of rice on Tuesdays. I watched as he chopped my chicken and as one of the workers grilled it. I could tell and taste that everything was fresh. As I waited, I noticed a small case with cold drinks and desserts. The bread pudding (made the day before) looked and tasted amazing. Again, very fresh and not overly sweet. No indoor seating but shaded picnic tables outside. If it weren't so hot, I would have eaten there. Next time I'll spring for a platter! read more

If you are lucky it will be a nice day and you can sit outside, but it's still worth it if you have to eat in the car. Don't be fooled by the small spot, this place packs a punch. The price is worth all the food they give you. I ordered the chicken burrito and it was delicious. I had time to kill in downtown Bethesda. I searched yelp for a great breakfast place. I was not disappointed. The breakfast burrito with bacon was very good. The hot sauce was hot. The coffee was good. I appreciated that they pulled out creamer from the refrigerator instead of just leaving it on the counter like other places. Next time I will come back and try the burrito with chorizo sausage. The service was fast and friendly. Mexican ladies from the neighborhood came to get their breakfast. They chatted in Spanish with the staff and possibly the owner who was also from Mexico . This was a very good sign! read more

Taco Saturday! I was getting a haircut and I noticed the taco place on a side street. So, I walked over and ordered asada, el pastor and chicken tacos. All of them had a lot of flavor. Came here for lunch on a Monday around 11:30. This is a nice lunch spot! Wasn't super hungry so I just ordered two different tacos. The inside is small with a couple outdoor seating areas. The workers were nice and able to give recommendations. The menu had lots of options of tacos and burritos and sandwiches. Overall this hit the spot and the tacos had a lot of meat! What a find! Best burrito I've had in maybe a decade. It's grilled to give it a light smoky flavorful and the tortilla is thin but flavorful and not at all gummy or mushy, which is why I hate most burritos. The ground beef is well seasoned and tender, the beans and rice are packed with flavor and luscious, and the red spicy salsa is mild but really umami filled. The Barbacoa, carne asada, and chorizo tacos are all flavorful and very generous portion wise, with excellent tortillas, but I think the burrito is better. There are two picnic tables outside but no place to eat inside. Very friendly and helpful service inside and food takes less than ten minutes. read more

I tend to eat a lot of burritos. It's one of my all-time favorite foods. It has just a little bit of bread and a lot of protein and rice and flavor! The burritos at Oliva's kitchen are probably the best in the entire bethesda area. No other place in the area actually takes the time to grill their burritos closed like they should be. The grilled seem works two fold! Keeping the burrito closed and also adding a nice level of crunch. Not only that but the flavor of the shredded chicken and the fresh rice is unmatched. Additionally, their fresh guacamole is sold fresh every time. While they don't have chips (at least I don't think), it pairs well with any quality chip you may like. I have also tried the breakfast burrito. While Breakfast burritos are less my thing, it is just as good with well seasoned chorizo and all fresh ingredients. We should all make a conscious effort to support these small ma and pa kind of carry out spots. They are getting harder to find! read more

I arrived an hour early for an appointment and decided to take a walk along Wisconsin Avenue, looking for a place to have breakfast and pass the time. That's when I noticed a taco shop -- it literally looks like it's housed in a converted residential garage from the 1900s -- just a block off the main street. The sign said "open," and I was in the mood for a breakfast burrito. Outside, there are two narrow picnic tables: one granite and the other a reclaimed log, framing the narrow entrance to the counter. Inside, I was welcomed and ordered a breakfast burrito with chorizo from the chalkboard menu fixed to the counter. I waited outside as takeout customers came and went; it's clearly a popular spot. My order was delivered in a bag with napkins, salsa, and a fork. Oliva Kitchen burritos are overstuffed, tasty gut grenades! A crispy toasted shell packed with red bliss hashbrowns, chorizo, tomatoes, onions, cheese, egg, and a creamy, flavorful sauce. A couple of guys across from me were raving about the barbacoa. They offer American options for breakfast and lunch to cater to everyone and have kid-friendly variations, so you could order for the family. This is not a sitdown restaurant, think takeout, working man, grub and go. I've got a hunch this place is a hidden neighborhood gem, and the guys manning the grill are master street taco chefs waiting to be discovered. Well, it looks like I went back to Oliva's much sooner than I expected. This morning, Saturday April 1st, we happened to be traveling near it, after taking care of some morning errands and business. As neither the Mrs. or myself had breakfast, and it was lunch time, we decided to head over and grab something to eat. The Mrs. had been wanting to try breakfast. When we arrived we were greeted by Dylan at the register and Emilio (the owner). The Mrs. ordered the breakfast platter and I ordered the breakfast burrito. Because the weather was nice, we were able to sit outside and enjoy breakfast. I really enjoyed the breakfast burrito! It was large with just a bit of kick. And, very filling. The Mrs. enjoyed her breakfast platter, which she had bacon with. (Personally, I would have chosen the sausage but hey, that is me.) Overall, breakfast was good and enjoyable, especially, as we were able to eat it at one of the tables outside. And yes, there is more than one table to eat at. if you have not had the chance to stop by, I encourage you to do so. Try the breakfast burrito or the Cubano.
