I'm a huge Plaza Azteca fan and absolutely came here for the name. My husband and I decided to take a day trip from Baltimore just for Plaza Azteca! Sadly this is very different from the ones we have been to in other areas. The menu is kind of weird and had more Latin inspired menu items. When I go to Plaza Azteca there are normally more Mexican food options but not here. The queso fundido was very disappointing and just an odd dish. The bathroom was very dirty and unkept. The service was friendly however it took a while to get what we needed. The margaritas were excellent but would have liked more but was hard to order in a timely fashion. The steak in the burrito was tasty but over all the burrito was boring. If you're looking for Plaza Azteca - this isn't it but still a decent meal.

Overall, I thought this was an ok Plaza Azteca. However, I was assuming that this Plaza Azteca would be like the locations in southeastern VA. Primarily, I was expecting the "white sauce" for our tortilla chips, but I guess the white sauce is not a thing in these parts. I thought the service was very good, and I have no complaints regarding the service. Unfortunately, I thought the prices were a bit high for the food because many of the plates were $30+. Perhaps, I was still used to the prices from the other Plaza Aztecas (typically the many of the plates were in $20 range) that I have visited in the past. Although the prices were a little higher than I expected, I thought the food was pretty good. However, I would not go out of my way (+15 minute drive) to visit this establishment. Since the restaurant is located in a somewhat busy shopping center, this could be a great place to have a margarita or three after shopping.

Beautiful restaurant, immaculately clean, table cloth tables, food is authentic! We were served immediately and offered chips and salsa of the highest quality.

This is our go to Tex-Mex restaurant. The fajitas come out sizzling cooked medium rare as requested. The margaritas are wonderful too!

Portion size got smaller for carrying out. Used to be two in a platter now one and a half. Don't think it's worth it anymore

I really liked the chips and salsa that they give for the table. The chips were warm. The salsa was unique and flavorful, and it got refilled after I finished the first batch, and was brought another round, which was great. Must've been hungry. I also got the free guacamole for getting the app and that was a good addition to the spread, but the star was definitely the Carne Asada. It was just cooked really well. The flavor was amazing and I totally would go back to just get that again and the chips. The waitress was good. The ambiance is quite nice actually. And you can pick where you wanna sit and the degree of lighting. There were areas where it was better lit, and then there were areas that were more dimly lit and something in between. People seem to just be having a good time without much fuss. Bathrooms were clean. Parking isn't the easiest, street parking or find a garage, but it's also not too far from the Bethesda metro station. Hoping to come back, not too far in the near future!

The staff was friendly and gave some suggestions, but the service is mostly you doing things. The food was good, nothing amazing but pretty good! Good portions of meat and interesting flavors that work together. The steak was tender enough and the chicken was good. The only thing I would suggest would be a heated up tortilla and meltier cheese on top. Overall most of them were pretty decent! 3.5/5 Chips and sampler was good! I do like the chips tasted freshly made and the guacamole and salsa were great! The queso was decent not my favorite, but it was a good addition to the trio. 4/5 Overall, this place is better than Taco Bamba and what I would compare it to with thier similar fusion flavors. Absolutely delicious. Who doesn't love queso? It's basically the glue that holds my soul together. I got the large size, because small queso is like a burrito without guac--what's the point? The jalapeños had a kick that snuck up on me, like a salsa dancer with hot sauce in their shoes. Just enough heat to say "hello," but not so much that I needed to write my will. As for food, I went with the kid's shrimp burrito quesadilla. Why? Because I'm an adult who makes questionable choices in the name of happiness.
