We stopped in to coopers mill for dessert on a weekday. Located within Marriott, it was easy to find and they had lots of seats open at the bar. I had wanted to check this place out since I recently moved walking distance to Coopers mill. I'm glad we walked because parking is regulated and for hotel guests only. There is limited street parking on pooks hill. The bartender was lovely and we immediately were given menus, when we told him we were there for dessert he recommended the fried cookie dough which was delicious. Comes with taharka vanilla ice cream which I loved since I used to live in Baltimore! The presentation of the fried dough balls was very pretty as well. The other bartender Zobe was a pleasure to speak to. He recommended good drinks and even whipped up a chocolate martini at my boyfriend's request. This place is a little pricey with a very casual atmosphere, but I enjoyed my visit and we will be back!

My reuben panini was soggy and sad. Sweet potato fries were undercooked. I have eaten here in the past and the food was much better. Waitress dropped the food at our table and never came back to check on us. We had to ask the hostess for silverware and napkins. This was not a great experience. It was not a low-cost experience either.

We often stay at the Marriott at Pooks Hill given its close location to our Mom house. Cooper's Mill daily breakfast is very good. Nice variety of morning options from steel cut oatmeal, custom omelet station with vegetables of onions, green peppers, spinach, mushrooms, cheeses, ham, bacon, chicken apple sausage. Amble offering of fresh pineapple, melons, grapes, and apples. Breads variety includes English muffins, wheat, white, pastries, bagels and cream cheeses, yougart Very professional services

This place was practically empty and there was some music, not too loud like most places. The service was great, food came quickly. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. We ordered the short rib kimchi sliders (2) a side of sweet potato fries and my husband ordered the Mediterranean flat bread. Both were actually excellent for a hotel restaurant. I would visit this place again if I was in this area. Too bad more people don't visit this place. They have parking validation!

Stayed at a Marriott with this restaurant just in the lobby. Went down for some late dinner snacks to share. The drinks were good. The calamari was pretty amazing. The flatbread was also delicious. Definitely satisfied our appetites. We finished with some ice cream and cheesecake. The bartender was very nice and helpful. And the restaurant itself is a good size and could accommodate a pretty large group.

"Dressed up like a million dollar trooper Trying hard to look like Gary Cooper Super duper" (Puttin' on the Ritz by Irving Berlin 1927) Our stay at the Marriott included a dinner and two breakfasts from Cooper's Mill. My Friday night dinner was a Kale Salad with Chicken that came with croutons and shaved Parmesan. It was a generous potion and I finished every bite. The only off putting thing about dinner was the noise level. The dining room and bar share a single open area and the bar was packed with a very noisy crowd. Maybe they were there for the 2 weddings scheduled there that weekend, but it made for a high decibel count. The two breakfasts prepared by Cooper's Mill were great. Cooked to order eggs, 8 or so hot trays with meats, potatoes, and lots of fruits and cereals and yogurts and breads and pastries. Our final breakfast was even better as our hosts added a bagel and lox station just for their guests and that was excellent as well. Food and service were excellent.

We have stayed at the location of Cooper's Mill (Marriott) about a hundred times and finally tried the dinner recently. The breakfast we get with our platinum elite status is always spectacular and I love the lady that makes the delicious omelette's and Belgium waffles! Everything is farm to table. The breakfast buffet has everything from oatmeal, potatoes, fruit, chicken and pork sausage, eggs and omelette station with anything imaginable to put in. SO we tried a quick bite dinner and shared the margarita pizza it was pretty good. My daughter enjoyed the slider's and was extremely full,if you like spicy foods good choice. My son was pleasantly shocked by his turkey sandwich that was actual turkey not cheap deli meat. The service was extremely pleasant. The restaurant has a huge bar and great drink menu along with tables and booths, very cozy and rustic.I would definitely go back and try a full entree.

I stayed at the Marriot for a week and ate at Coopers mill a few times. The food is very good with great flavor. The Restaurant is very nice. The bartenders however could be more attentive to the guests and check in quicker and more often. Although they were friendly they often didn't check up on me or I waited awhile for a simple glass of water.

First time customer! As a Marriott Headquarters employee working as a Digital QA Manager for Marriott.com and the Marriott Bonvoy mobile App, I have been to many Marriott hotels and venues as a registered Marriott Bonvoy member. Dinner (2/28/22): Ordered the Korean Short Rib Sliders, Crispy Chicken, 2 x Fries, Spiced Brown Butter Cake, Shirley Temple and Green Envy. Dinner (3/01/22): Ordered Simple Greens Salad with Grilled Chicken, Braised Short Rib, 2 Scoops of Ice Cream (Vanilla, Strawberry), Lemonade and Sweet Iced Tea. This restaurant provided excellent customer service, as our servers, one of them named Sue, gave us great service etiquette! She went above and beyond the normal kind of service you would expect and we appreciated that very much! Both dinner services were amazing! We will definitely be back...

Simple kale ceaser salad was good after a conference and vegetables soup hot hit the spot... a simple food meal. Service was attentive despite being slammed from conference participants

Service and food were both a solid 4-star. The meatballs were tasty, could have been a little moist. The potato croquettes were of perfect texture, crispy on the outside and mushy on the inside with a hint of bacon flavor that kicked it up a notch. The chicken skewers were moist and tasty over a very small bed of greens for plating. The tiger shrimp tacos had good flavors. The Grayson Farm ribeye steak (10oz) cooked medium rare served on top of baby potatoes and asparagus was delicious. The honey bee mocktail was refreshing, with blackberries, Honey Syrup, rosemary, and fresh Lemon Juice. The ambience was semi-rustic, which made a relaxing feeling instead of being stuffy. Prices are not bad for the location and at a Marriott Hotel restaurant. The wait person seems new, but was pleasant. An overall nice experience.

Wait staff is attentive without being annoying. Ashley did a great job as my primary server. I had a steak taco with cilantro and onion which was very good, and I also had the trio fajitas. It was very good, especially the steak was very tender and shrimp was a nice size. I have an issue with the auto 20% tip as well. That's why my experience isn't 5-stars. This maybe legally problematic if it's not legally noticed in advance so patrons know of their legal obligation to pay before ordering. I didn't read any notice in the menu or in the restaurant. I'm not an attorney so my comment is strictly my morbid curiosity. Overall, I had a good experience in the early Friday evening. I recommend their restaurant for good food and good service.

My friends and I were simply enjoying our drinks when a waitress named Libeth (a bottle girl) pushed one of my friends while moving through the crowded area. My friend reacted naturally to being pushed, without aggression or disrespect. After that interaction, Libeth appeared upset by his reaction and said something to him that I personally did not hear. A few moments later, she returned with two security guards and had us removed from the establishment without explanation or any attempt to communicate with us respectfully. When I tried to calmly ask what was happening and why such an extreme action was being taken, Libeth began screaming aggressively, saying: "Get the fuck out of here, bitch, get out." This situation was completely unacceptable and extremely unprofessional. We were humiliated and escorted out as if we had physically assaulted someone, caused a disturbance, or committed some serious misconduct, which never happened. We were simply customers there to enjoy the event, have drinks, and support the business. I do not understand how someone who is clearly not properly trained to handle high-stress customer service situations--especially during a crowded event like Cinco de Mayo--can represent a business where customer service should be a top priority. In a packed environment and dance floor setting, accidental contact between people can naturally happen without malicious intent. The behavior displayed by Libeth reflected extremely poor customer service, lack of professionalism, and a very low level of education in conflict resolution and customer interaction. No customer should ever be verbally abused, screamed at, or publicly embarrassed in this manner. Additionally, I am requesting a refund for the three tickets I purchased for my friends, as well as the drinks we paid for and were unable to finish because we were forced to leave the establishment without justification. If this matter is not resolved appropriately, I will proceed with disputing the charges with my bank as fraudulent in order to recover my money. Furthermore, I intend to report this terrible experience to consumer protection authorities if there is no proper resolution for my refund. If this employee behaved this way toward us without justification, it is very likely she may continue treating other customers the same way. I expect a prompt and professional resolution to this matter.

On the one hand, there are some very positive aspects to Beth's, situated in downtown about a 10 min walk from the Bethesda Metro Station. Turn off Old Georgetown Road onto Fairmont Ave, and the first thing you encounter is a beautiful outdoor patio for al fresco dining and a large bar. The colors are vibrant with a focus on Southwestern earth tones; very reminiscent of a cafe you'd find in Sedona. It was still on the chilly side when my dinner group gathered, so we opted to sit indoors. There is a small waiting area in the foyer, and then a moderately sized bar, which leads into the main dining room. TBH, the design asthetic of the space is a bit of a "mishmash." Is it supposed to be European inspired? A continuation of the Southwestern motif? It's all a bit odd... We had about eight in the party, so staff pushed together two tables for us. We were greeted promptly and were told that the restaurant could accomodate individual checks, as ordering is done with handheld devices. My other observation about Beth's is, I'm not quite sure what "story," the place is trying to tell. The menu focuses on "Bites," which could be interpreted as "appetizers" and only has four "plates," aka "entrees." Our server mentioned while awaiting our orders that Beth's wants diners to share the "Bites" with a spotlight on their cocktail selections. So is Beth's trying to be a tapas bar then? I opted for the recommended Purple Rain which consists of Gin, lavender, lime; mostly because I LOVE a nice herbal Gin. The distinctive flavor of juniper berries from the gin was present, while the floral notes from the lavendar and citrus of the lime balanced out the drink. I was pleasantly surprised. Food started arriving after about 20 min, and visually the barley risotto was quite appealing. Instead of short or medium grain rice, Beth's uses the ancient cereal grain barley. It is slow cooked in stock to produce that slightly chewy, yet not undercooked mouth feel. USDA choice braised beef short ribs was stewed until fork tender, and the dish was finished off with Parmigiano Reggiano, and butter. For $24, the plate was a good portion size and very tasty. I dunno. I sampled some of the small plates such as the Brussel Sprouts, crunchy ravioli, crispy spring roll...and everything was fine. Not outstanding...not terrible...but just fine. The kitchen seems to be competent, so it would be interesting to see a menu where more main dishes were offered for diners who want a more substantial meal. The other thing I'll note is, due to the extremely high ceilings, the main dining space is a deafening echo chamber. I was hoarse by evening's end, since I was literally yelling over not just the background music, but the other nearby diners. Just keep this in mind that if you're seeking a quiet and cozy spot, either dine outdoors or come early. After some reflection, I settle on 4 stars. Service was good with water glasses constantly refilled, dirty dishes removed, to-go boxes offered, and the ability for separate billing. Price wise, for one alcoholic beverage, and one entree my tab with tax and tip came to a bit over $50. Automatic gratuity was added for the table since we had over 5 people. I appreciate the server informing us so we didn't "double tip."

The atmosphere is fun and creative and probably ideal for a date or a group of adults. It might not be the greatest atmosphere for smaller kids or a family on a time budget. Inside is dimly lit with upscale decor including a paneled pop out faux cafe front, maybe French quarter-ish style, wall on one side. On the other is a mural. (I think it was a tree and mountains hidden behind some panels.) If I were to describe it, I would use the words, New Orleans meets modern art. They also have an outdoor space, where the faux cafe wall extends. This would be an ideal place to have an outdoor brunch any day, but this day of course. The menu does say new American, but I think that means that they have a little bit of everything plus steaks and burgers. To start the meal, they dropped an assortment of baked goods for the table, including a biscuit, a mini fruit tart and something that tasted like a blintz. It was carbohydrate heaven. We added a shared a baked brie appetizer that was excellent as well. For the main course we shared a Turkish breakfast plate, as well as some steak and eggs. I washed things down with a Bloody Mary from their brunch drink menu. My steak and eggs were cooked to perfection and the Turkish breakfast was very flavorful. The baked Brie was excellent for sharing and I really liked my bloody Mary. Overall, we enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. A good part of that was the excellent service provided by the staff from start to finish. I think it's a terrific brunch spot and somewhere I would recommend for some fun bites and a couple of drinks.

This is such a perfect spot for either a date night or a fun night out with friends. The speakeasy vibe, the chic atmosphere, and the music (a smooth, chill house mix) all come together so effortlessly. Plus, being open until 2am on Fridays and Saturdays is a huge bonus. Definitely make a reservation ahead of time - this place stays busy for a reason. From my previous visit, I remember having a ravioli dish, what I believe was a braised beef, and their sliders with duck fat fries - all of which were incredible and clearly memorable since I was thinking about them for months. The sliders paired with those fries were honestly a standout. This time around, we had to get the duck fat fries again, and they were just as phenomenal as I remembered. The cheesesteak oysters were easily a 10/10 - fresh, meaty, and honestly surprising coming from someone who used to not even like oysters. We also tried the grilled octopus, which was well-seasoned (as expected, slightly chewy), and the fried calamari, which was light, not heavy at all, and paired perfectly with the sauces. The tuna tartare was another standout - super fresh, soft, and practically melted in your mouth. For drinks, we went all in. The Dirty Diamond martini with blue cheese olives was great, though if you like your martinis extra filthy, I'd recommend specifying that. The Hemingway Special had a nice subtle sour kick, and the vanilla mint espresso martini was strong (you can definitely taste the alcohol) but still smooth and frothy. The Mary Pickford with Malibu was surprisingly delicious - almost like a mocktail. The Paloma was solid, and the Code Red cocktail gave me slight cosmopolitan vibes. But the real star was the dulce de leche espresso martini--absolutely unforgettable. What really ties everything together here is the service. The staff - from the hosts to the servers - are attentive, welcoming, and genuinely elevate the experience. Overall, Code Red is one of those places you keep coming back to. If you're looking for a stylish speakeasy atmosphere with great food, drinks, and energy, this is it.
