Well the space is pretty and the jazz is stellar. However, even through there were empty tables it took a few minutes to be seat me. I sat for 20 minutes enjoying the music, before any took my order. Then my food came when I finally got a second check in like 10 minutes later, but no coffee showed up. I ordered a vanilla latte, but was given a regular latte. They comped my latte. I got the farmers hash which was delicious and very filling. At the end I asked for my bill was given a bill just for the latte, but then my card was charged just for the hash. I paid and left. A friend and I have been to several teas in the area and we decided to give this one a try. It was.....very meh. The cost is listed as $65 but note that there is for some reasons a 4% charge on top of it. These restaurant charges became common during COVID and I guess restaurants decided to leave them there and think we won't notice. I did. They also automatically add 20% gratuity. I'd have paid that that anyway but honestly the server did very little so the presumption to include it was a little unexpected, and probably based on the fact that the server doesn't really much and they need to ensure people tip. The menu is pre-set and she just handed us a plate. In any case, the food tasted good enough but the service was slow, the tea was never refreshed as it typically is at tea houses, and the bread in literally every item was incredibly dry. It was weird it took so long for the food to arrive, considering it was likely made ahead and just placed on the tiered server. The best part was the cake on the top tier. The tea itself was very good. They refused to seat my friend until I came and kicked us out after 90 minutes. It's in Pike & Rose, inside the Canopy Hotel across from LL Bean, separate from the Hello Betty boat bar entrance in the Main Street of the shopping area. Parking is typical planned community lot parking. The atmosphere is nice, as the tea is in a separate area filled with fake flowers and cute tables in a bright space with a lot of natural light. I went to Hello Betty for brunch on a Sunday. It wasn't too packed, but they definitely could have benefited from another waiter because service was a little slow and therefore the mimosas didn't seem truly bottomless. I ordered the sweet potato biscuits, which were delicious but definitely needed the apple butter. The crawfish mac and cheese was also pretty good, but I realized that I am simply not a crawfish person. However as for restaurant mac and cheese goes I won't complain. I wish they gave me a little more, but they didn't skimp on the crawfish. I also tasted my friend's praline pancakes, which were perfectly fluffy and melt in your mouth. However, the kitchen forgot her whipped butter and tried to tell her that it didn't come with any. However, we knew what we saw in the photo. We spend a lot of time with the Canopy at Pike and Rose through the company I work for. Unfortunately, the little restaurant "Hello Betty" is adorably decorated and has the set up to be a nice spot- but the service is so bad, it's not even worth it. We went with a group last time- and even called ahead to let them know we had about 20 people coming. When we got there the bartender literally said "go sit down and I'll call you over when I'm ready to serve you" since she was so backed up. My wine was served in brandy snifter because the EMPTY RESTAURANT was out of wine glasses. They have a full catering ball room for weddings and stuff and they were out of wine glasses. We're not even sure who else was causing the bartender to be so in the weeds- perhaps it's room service, but if that's the case they need to staff appropriately. Each time I'm so confused as to what the issue is because the place is huge but rarely busy- the hostess seems confused which tables are open. It's the bar that's the biggest issue though. You can't order anything more complicated than wine or a 2 ingredient drink like a G&T because it will not taste good. This was not the first time. Or the second. I think I'm done now though. I have enjoyed some of the menu items we've gotten, but when your food comes out 30 minutes later and you STILL haven't gotten your drink- it just kinda messes up the experience. read more

Went here for a quick lunch after a pedicure and was super impressed! The ambiance is very cool and u pique and the music sets a great vibe. At lunch it was pretty empty so I hope they get fuller. The waitress I had was so warm and kind and made everything feel personal. They had also just dropped a new menu and the items I had were sooo delicious! Shout out to the chef! I got the sweet potato biscuits and the crab cake sandwich. The biscuits were smaller than I anticipated but packed a lot of flavor! And we're filling. Bait-and-Switch on Bottomless Mimosas Brunch - $19 to $35 Overnight!!! I was humiliated and embarrassed by the whole situation at Hello Betty. I was genuinely excited to bring a group of friends here for brunch based on their advertised $19 bottomless mimosas--perfect for a fun, affordable weekend vibe. I checked the online menu just the day before our reservation, and it still clearly listed bottomless mimosas at $19. I invited everyone, hyped it up, and we all showed up ready for a great time. But Hello Betty ruined it for me. We get seated, open the menus... and suddenly bottomless mimosas are $35. No warning, no note about a change, nothing. My entire group noticed it immediately and was confused. When our waiter returned I asked him what happened--politely explained that it was $19 online and on the menu yesterday. He said the manager had changed it overnight. The waiter didnt thought the move was crazy as well. The place is already 70% empty and they pull a stunt like this. It's almost like they saw a group of 8+ book and decided it would be great to scam us. I was floored. This feels like straight-up bait-and-switch. Advertising one price to lure people in (and get groups to commit), then jacking it up nearly double the day of without any heads-up is deceptive and unfair. We ended up staying because we'd already arrived and didn't want to bail on the plans entirely, but the whole mood shifted. What was supposed to be a relaxed, celebratory brunch turned into an awkward, expensive disappointment.The food and service were OK (nothing standout), but that's not the point. The point is trust. If prices change that dramatically and suddenly, at least communicate it--update the website, post a sign, train staff to explain proactively, or offer a one-time courtesy. Instead, it felt like we were tricked into showing up. Save your money and your group plans--double-check current pricing right before you go, because what they advertise today might not be what you pay tomorrow. Disappointing experience that left a bad taste. This is one of the most expensive prices for a "bottomless" too with a weird setup up. They give you a tiny amount of alcohol and you have to go to a juice station to mix the beverage yourself. Won't be returning, there are better options in dc proper like in downtown Bethesda or dc proper which is their competition, they are far from the center of the metro area so not sure what they're thinking is. The service was great and the tearoom is beautiful. The noise level is also great--not too quiet and not too loud to have a reasonable conversation with very soothing live music playing in the restaurant. My three-star review pertains to the price and the food. I've been going to tea around DC, Maryland, and Virginia, even traveling as far as Philadelphia, over the last 10 years. Compared to every other tea I've had, the food portions here were tiny, the scones were very small and a bit dry (though the flavor was nice), and there was no clotted cream. I did like the variety of flavors of the savory items, there just wasn't much of it. Even the teapot was small (though less of an issue for me since I never typically finish all my tea--but I did this time). We were asked our water preference and without realizing there was a charge based on the choice made (not mentioned), we were surprised by the additional $21 ($7 per bottle) price tag for bottled water on the bill. I also usually try to avoid places that include gratuity, which this did, a standard 20% as well as a 4% restaurant fee. I'm completely understanding of additional fees within reason because times are hard, but I don't like being nickled and dimed when dining out. I will add that had the portions been larger as I'm accustomed to, then I would have been disappointed by the cost but accepting that the experience was worth the money. Unfortunately, in this case, I know I can get a much bigger, better tea experience numerous other places for just about the same price. I've stayed in the Canopy a couple over this year and had a consistently great experience. The bar is warm and inviting with a great menu. I was happy to see some of the beers rotate on the menu. The bartender, Travis, was excellent. I'm a beer and whiskey guy, and he recommended some solid local beer selections. I also heard him make some great cocktail recommendations for a couple that weren't finding their flavor particular flavor in the menu. Came here for brunch with a friend as it had been on her list for a while. This restaurant is located inside the canopy hotel, so in terms of parking, it's best to park at the lot by the Pinstripes, especially if you have guests that have mobility issues otherwise there are several flights of steps to enter through a doorway next to Uniqlo. We made reservations but it wasn't necessary, there were only a handful of other parties there, it may be because it was close to the holidays and folks might have been traveling elsewhere. We were looking forward to trying the "crab deviled eggs" only to discover there was no actual crab in this dish; instead the whites are heavily coated in Old Bay and the filling was basic deviled egg. It was a bit acidic going down and my Forbes didn't care for them at all. We went to order lattes but they only had whole milk at the time. I got the pancakes, which were fine, and my friend got the Betty's Breakfast. If you are nearby it's a fine spot for breakfast but I don't think it's worth going out of your way. The outdoor space looked nice so I imagine this would be a nice spot in the summer for a casual meetup with friends. read more

We had a private high school graduation event at Hello Betty and were so happy that we did. The location, staff, and food were all amazing. Danny made sure that the team (Andre and Sorba) took care of our every need and the party goers were able to do their partying without hindrance. We had a fairly large number of dietary restrictions and Hello Betty handled them all without issue. Also, all the scheduling and pre-planning was handled seamlessly by Lyn who was very responsive. If we ever plan to have another private event, Hello Betty will be at the top of our list. read more

What a welcome improvement! I had an amazing time for a friend's birthday brunch. I must say that Hello Betty has definitely changed things up for the better! In the past, I have come to this location for drinks and light bites, and it was always just OK. But brunch has recently blown my mind. The executive chef is super talented and friendly. We were greeted by a lovely host who I believe is the manager, and she was very accommodating. It was very nice that she made sure we had a good time. I opted for the bottomless mimosas, and you can't really go wrong with that. We had a few mixups with cocktails, but our server was able to address and make sure the new cocktails were made as desired. On to the food, our table had a little bit of everything. Oysters on the half shell and steamed shrimp tasted fresh, the strawberry beignets were warm and sweet, and although I'm not the biggest fan, the sweet potato biscuits were on point too. The warm biscuits with the butter, yum. The stand out was the crawfish mac & cheese which is out of this world delicious. The seasoned crumbles on top were a great addition. I would go back just for that starter since it could also double as an entrée. The Verlasso salmon was fantastic, cooked medium to perfection. My friend really enjoyed her shrimp and grits. The hot honey chicken biscuit was a hit along with the spinach. The atmosphere has a smart casual vibe and pretty comfortable with its open floor plan and additional rooftop seating and bar. Be aware, that it's probably easier/better to enter through the Canopy Hotel than whatever address Apple Maps may give you. A few of us stopped by Hello Betty for brunch. I have to admit that I was mistakenly under the impression that Hello Betty had a bottomless brunch, but maybe I read an incorrect review. No huge biggie that the restaurant did not have bottomless brunch. The restaurant is quite large with a huge outdoor seating area, so it's great for large groups. For food, I went with the creole omelette, which was fine. I do not think anyone at our table was blown away by the food (even the Smores French Toast), but it was the food was decent enough. For instance, I probably would not go out of my way to have brunch here, but it's fine if you are in the vicinity. It helps that Hello Betty is near a bunch of shops. I was a little surprised (not in a good way) that the Betty's Crush did not use crushed ice. Then again, this could have been on me for assuming that it was a "crushed" beverage. Overall, I thought the prices were pretty good compared to other places in the area. Our bartender Natasha was absolutely amazing because she was super cheerful. You definitely could tell that she is a people person. Also, our server, whose name I did not catch, was pretty good. The restaurant did have band (well, a duet) performing. While the two guys were great singers/performers, I thought it was unnecessary because 1. I think there were about 7-8 folks in the restaurant, and 2. the speakers were a bit too loud so it was hard to hear ourselves speaking to each other. I ordered mine with crispy bacon and over medium eggs. The bacon arrived not crispy and the eggs were barely cooked; closer to sunnyside up eggs. Overall, the food was bland and without salt & pepper on the table you could not make it better. I will say the coffee was super strong! But the downside was they served Coffee Mate instead of real cream. If I ever stay at the Canopy hotel again, I will most likely skip eating here. Had a great first experience at Hello Betty! We came for dinner and were seated right away. We chose to each inside, but there is plenty outdoor seating as well. Their outdoor patio also has a fun boat bar! My husband and I kept commenting on how fun and vibrant the decor is. This would be a great location to host a party or drop into after work for happy hour. Our server, Miguel, was wonderful! He was personable and funny and made sure to check on us throughout our dinner. We ordered charbroiled oyster imperial, Carolina bbq wings, and crab cakes. I also had a strawberry basil margarita and my husband had strawberry lemonade. Everything was good! The crab cakes are a decent size with a good ratio of crab to filler. My favorite dish was definitely the oyster though! We both were a little surprised at the total of our bill, so come in ready to spend more than you probably think you will need to.
