On a rainy Sunday night, we decided to try out the Sardi's by the Loehmann's Plaza (a.k.a. Chuck-E-Cheese) on Randolph Road. We ordered a Chicken & Cheese Sandwich (grilled chicken with onions, lettuce, tomato & mayonnaise with peppers and melted cheese) and a Fried Fish Sandwich (seasoned fried whitefish with lettuce, tomato, and salsa remoulade on a buttery brioche bun). The place was crowded and it took a little while to get our order, probably because they have all kinds of roasted chicken on racks, but a chicken and cheese and a fried fish sandwich are likely made from scratch. But I have to say, that was one of the best fish sandwiches I've had in a long while. And shout out for their plantains - sweet, filling, and a huge portion! Gonna come back for a fish sandwich soon!

Another splendid meal. I enjoyed chatting with Rocio, who was our hostess. She did an excellent job making us feel right at home.

I have eaten at Sardis before but not this location. Was very glad to see it in the neighborhood. Tried the grilled shrimp skewers with chaufa and plantains. Couldn't have been happier. Shrimp were large and perfectly cooked. Sides were very good as well. It's not the cheapest lunch but I'd rather pay a few dollars more for quality. Definitely will be back!

Had three piece chicken with fries and black beans. Fries are soft steak fries. Chicken and black beans are far too salty for. Me.

Finding a delicious bakery is like finding a hidden gem. They are precious and close to your heart…read more This weekend, I got to visit La Bohemia Bakery. It has been 9 years since my last review. But, this bakery has only gotten better with age. It looks like a little French bistro with the red brick walls and counters full of breads and baked goods. Service was great. The gentleman who waited on us was very nice. I bought a chocolate croissant. It was rich and buttery filled with delicious layers of chocolate. I also ordered an apple turnover. The crust was melt in your mouth delicious. And, the apple filling was superb. Lastly, I ordered a cannell. It was rich and sweet and so delicious. So, each of my three desserts were amazing. The prices were reasonable. It is tucked back on the right side of the street. You can use Chef Tony's as a reference point. I guarantee I will be going back soon.

I snagged the last honey cake slices (my absolute favorite), caneles, pain au chocolat, beef and chicken triangles (puff pastries), and a proper pear tart. Everything was delicious. Despite its small size, there are a few tables to sit at for lunch and pretty tranquil. I'll certainly be a regular from here on out.
