I recently stopped in to pick up some Italian desserts for a colleague's farewell party. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted right away. Unfortunately, I didn't catch the woman's name at the counter, but she was incredibly helpful in guiding me through what would work best for the party. The Italian cookies were a huge hit! I love supporting local spots! This place is no frills located in the back of a shopping center. There are a couple of free parking spots out front and then a paid lot nearby. Friendly staff that truly gives a family owned vibes. My go to is usually a turkey sandwich or steak and cheese (both have not disappointed) They also have a deli counter where you can buy sliced meats, cheeses, and olives. Def recommend! read more

I randomly dropped by Filippo's because I was waiting for my order to be completed at another business. Filippo's has a great selection of subs, deli meats, toss in the oven/microwave meals, cheeses, and (my reason for stopping by) desserts. Since I was trying to satisfy my sweet tooth craving, I decided to order six cannolis (no, all six cannolis were not for me...only three of them were ;) ). I definitely knew that I was in the right place for cannolis because the cannolis are piped/filled per order. Although I am not Italian, one of my pet peeves regarding a spot that sells cannolis is seeing them prefilled in a display case. It's a pet peeve because you often do not know for how long the filling has been inside of the cannolis, which can sometimes lead to soggy cannolis. I thought the woman working behind the counter (either an owner or manager) was super nice and chatty while piping the cannolis. Once she found out I was somewhat new to area, she gave me a bunch of recommendations about local businesses. Looking forward to visiting again and trying some other Italian specialities. read more

Thursday 10/12/2023 I saw that they had won the best subs in moco and I had to try it out for myself. The service was decent. While I was waiting for my subs, The owner came in and was friendly. I ended up getting a Philly steak n cheese sub (with everything on it and mayo) $12.50 and a meatball sub $11.95. The philly steak n cheese sub was horrible and highly disappointing. On the other hand, the meatball sub was pretty good and was what I was expecting from the winners of the best subs in moco. Steak n cheeses definitely aren't their specialty BUT the meatball sub is for sure. I can't say I agree with the best subs in moco label but they are still pretty good if you are talking about the meatball sub. I could see myself returning and I'd recommend people come by to try the meatball sub (avoid the steak n cheese). read more

The Italian cold cut is better than twinbrook deli because of the roll that they use. The steak and cheese I would pass on because I think it is smashed meatballs. Somehow, I've lived ten minutes away from this place for years and never heard of it until today, at which point I had to stop in. It's in a little bit of a rundown strip along Triangle Rd in Wheaton. Confusingly, all the parking spots in front are numbered and marked reserved -- it turns out that each shop gets 2-3 spots in front. But there's also a pay lot down the way. The staff was very friendly, and welcoming when I went in, and immediately offered to help. A little kid came in and was treated to cookies. It's that kinda old fashioned, neighbourhood place. I got a couple of canoli, which were delicious (though maybe a bit sweeter than I am used to), and a big assortment of cheese and salumi. Prosciutto de Parma, Capicola, and more! Also free mozzarella balls, big bundles of cheese, and some fresh pasta. Haven't eaten it all yet, but I will... soon. :) read more

I got the classic cold cut and everything on it was put together perfectly, making a great Italian sub. What was also great was the service, as we got our subs within 5 minutes of ordering them. This place deserves all the praise. It's fast friendly and consistent. Going back to order the subs, they recommended the panino as being most popular. And after the first bite, they were correct. It was probably the best Italian sub in Moco. I should of gotten extra meat for an extra $2 in hindsight. Tomatoes and onions were crisp fresh and refreshing. A delicious market! I came in on a Saturday morning for some cold cuts, cheese, and cannoli. I got half a pound of prosciutto, capicola, soppressata and pancetta (they were out of guanciale), a pound of beautiful fresh provolone, fresh mozzarella balls, and cannolis. Decided to give this place a try. WOW, I got to admit, I am a fan of this food establishment. We decided to try their cold cut, steak and cheese and their spaghetti and meatballs. Please note we paid $8.99 for the spaghetti and meatballs (this is not the frozen version). First off, the spaghetti and meatballs comes in a large bowl enough for 2-3 people as side dishes. The red sauce has tons of good flavor. Wished there was more sauce though. Comes topped with cheese. In terms of meatballs, our dish only came with 2 meatballs. The noodles were more on the thick side which I appreciate. Had a nice chew to it. Definitely kid friendly if you are trying to find dishes for children. Up next is the steak and cheese. The meat (steak) was flavorful. Not sure if its entirely homemade or store bought. It's a bit on the peppery side. Comes with cheese and optional toppings such as lettuce, tomatoes, mayo, onion, oil & vinegar. And of course cheese. The individual toppings were pretty good. The bread that holds it together soaks up all the juices and sweat from all the other ingredients and has a nice chew to it. It was really good. Not sure if its the best cheesesteak I've tasted, but it was good. Wished there was a bit more meat. If you want a little bit of heat to it, I recommend asking to put in hot peppers. Last, the cold cut. According to my fellow Yelp reviewer, this sandwich is a must try. In my honest opinion, I think this sandwich is a true winner. Haven't had cold cuts in a while so I wanted to give this place a try. Boy, it did not disappoint. Recommend asking for everything in terms of toppings. With each topping, it adds a good bite to it. I added spicy peppers and it wasn't that spicy to me. So if you like hot but not too hot, add it. I love they have awesome chips to choose from as well. The Funky chips were a nice flavors of salt and sweet. What I would definitely add is an organic green salad with dark leafy veggies or a yummy beet salad. If you are a veggie and fruit eater, this has limited options. They do have a salad but, idk how good that is. This seemed to be comfort food all the way. I can't remember if this place had coffee or not? Those pastries with a good cup of coffee or cappuccino would be a fabulous treat. This is a neighborhood gem. This place is always a treat when I visit home from Texas! My family is Italian and has been coming here for years. This place has everything from pastas to panettone. I've been ordering delivery from here for the better part of a year. From the very first order I noticed the quality of this business. Our orders are always here very quickly and accurately. After visiting the store for the first time I love this place even more. It was toward the end of the work day, but everyone there was calm and pleasant. Everyone smiled and made eye contact, making sure to get the toppings on my sub just the way I wanted them. I definitely will be continuing to order food here, and I'll have to make more of an effort to stop in rather than just relying on delivery so I can say hello to everyone. The Panino is as good as ever and the ingredients were so fresh. The steak and cheese was great! The meat was seasoned perfectly and would give any Philly cheesesteak a run for their money. Used my MoCo passport to get a free cannoli and it was awesome. They make their own cream and fill them to order; so good.
