We normally come here for their all you can eat special, but decided to switch things up a bit, on this visit. It had been a while since we last ordered from the menu. On this visit, we both got selections like what we had around our early times of visiting this spot. I cannot remember what my friend got, but I ordered one of the "Feasty Specials" which had 1/2 Snow Crab Legs and 1/2 Headless Shrimp. It came with sausages (sliced in pieces), 1 Corn (about 1/4 size), 1 Egg, and 2 Potatoes (the skin easily comes off). You get to pick the seasoning and I had Old Bay. What is presented to you is a large clear bag, steamed up and tied, with seasonings and all mixed up. It is served on a metal tray, and they also place an empty bowl on your table for discarding things. Plastic bib was on, bag opened, and I was ready to dig in. The seasoning took me back to my second visit a few years ago. It was when I first tasted their Old Bay mix and became a fan of it. Overall, this is an average experience out. The good - plenty of options on their all you can eat menu, or at least for us. Overall, the food is good, and, in our opinion, you do get what you pay for. Keep in mind that they DO charge you if you have leftover food on your table when you are done. Be mindful of that and make sure to let them know as you are finishing up, and want more, to scale down your portion size. There is a 90-minute window to eat. The servers don't really go over the menu much, so if it is your first time for all you can eat, make sure to take notice that the crab legs do come with a few different flavor options. The bad - They started a new policy, which I understand, but do not like. If you want all you can eat, everyone who is at the table must all order it as well, or nobody can. I understand they are protecting their profits, but that has taken us away from this place on more than one occasion to eat elsewhere as some wanted it and another family members wanted to order off the main menu. Also, service can be extremely slow, and I am not sure if it is intentional or not, but we have complained more than once and made them extend our time. Last time we went, they set our first order of food down on the table and as we were eating, the waitress walked by no less then 5 times and didn't bother to ask if we wanted anything else. Then, magically, when our food was gone, we could not get anyone to come to the table for 15 minutes. Upon ordering our next round, it took another 20 more minutes for the food to arrive. They are sticklers about the 90-minute time frame, and we explained that twice this has happened and 60 minutes of our 90 minutes was wasted waiting on a server and then the food took forever. They allowed us one more round of food, which we appreciated and thought was fair. We start a stopwatch now and if we feel things are going slow, we address that with the server and sometimes put in a new order when the food is being dropped off. Overall, we are pleased to come here a few times a year. We only get all you can eat and usually are happy when we leave. The food is inconsistent as we do get the lobster tail with all you can eat, and it is usually overcooked and can chew like rubber, but still has good flavor. The crab legs sometimes come out waterlogged with salt, but most times piping hot. This is your typical "average" 3-star restaurant. If you are prepared to spend the money for all you can eat, you will leave satisfied and full, but never will you think "I wish I could come here every week". I have not ordered specific entrees off the regular menu so I cannot speak on portion size or quality of the food by ordering that way. Staff is always pleasant, but you do need to get on them if they are slacking. read more

Feasty Crab did a great job of feeding 3 hungry adults. We looked at each other and in agreement we decided that we were really hungry....and ordered the AYCE menu. A huge round of thanks to Christy, who provided the excellent service to our table. She was amazing. Every order came out exactly as it should be and she was on top of filling our drinks. Thanks Christy. We feasted on snow crab, mussels, lobster tail, shrimp, potatoes, sausage, onion rings, fries and sweet potato fries. We also ate crab Rangoon, fried calamari, and blue crab. It was all delicious. I would have to say my least favorites were the blue crab, it tasted funny. I also wasn't a fan of the mussels because they were very small and not very tender. But, everything else was really tasty and delicious. Those crabs and shrimp were scrumptious. Feasty Crab is decorated in a nautical them with nets, fish, and shells on the walls. You have got to try this very tasty seafood feast! Much more than just crabs! We ordered the all you can eat meal, and every bite was delicious and filling! We had the seafood boil of lobster tail (1 per person), Snow crab legs, crabs, corn on the cob, crawfish, and shrimp... and did I say how delicious it was?! everything was so fresh and flavorful. While they did alter their menu slightly with eliminating the Dungeness crab, for the price you still cannot beat what they're offering. The flavor of the boil was still spot on and just fyi, if you're allergic to shellfish, they apparently cook it all in one pot. They did however add lobster so that was a nice addition but there is a limit to 1 per person. The service was great, while not packed, there were several tables along the dining room area but our server was great and she was prompt given we had 10 ppl in our party. Came here for lunch with my husband. We got the AYCE lunch which is a great deal. It doesn't include crab legs or oysters but they can be purchased for additional charge. You are able to order items and they are brought out to you. The service was good and we enjoyed our meal. The fried fish, scallops, hush puppies were good. TLDR: Still one of the best all-you-can-eat seafood boils in the area. Lobster tail added to the menu is a win, RIP to the free Dungeness crab. Feasty Crab in Derwood is still a solid choice! I first reviewed this place when they opened a few years back and was really impressed with the seafood quality, selection, and the value. I recently came back with a group of 10 for a Saturday lunch, and we all left happy. Some things have changed since the early days, most notably they no longer include Dungeness crab in the all-you-can-eat deal (you now have to order it a la carte), which was a bit of a letdown. On a positive note, they now include one lobster tail per person with the AYCE, and honestly, it was the best bite of the meal. Sweet, tender, and perfectly cooked. The rest of the menu is pretty much the same, which was great to see. We made our way through several rounds of shrimp, mussels, crawfish, and snow crab, all well seasoned. Service was also a win, as they were attentive and efficient, even with our big group. At $60 a person, it's still a solid deal. Been to this restaurant a couple of times. We specifically go for the all you can eat. This time the all you can eat dinner was about $52.99 when it use to be about $50. which isn't much of a difference. It was 4 of us and we choose the lobster tail, the snow crab legs, green mussels, black mussels and headless shrimp. The snow crab legs were so good, also enjoyed the black mussels and the lobster tail. You are only to order one lobster tail per person that's the only item that is limited. For sides we did the sweet potato fries, the fried chicken wing, regular fries and crab Rangoon. I love the sweet potato fries, the fried chicken wings are good. Everything else was just okay. We also got the catfish they do only bring you a little piece so make sure you ask for more when you are asking for it. You can also have sides like ramen, white rice, potatoes, and sausage. Feasty Crab in Rockville is a fun and casual spot for a seafood feast. The star of the show here is definitely their seafood. The boil was fantastic--packed with flavor and a good kick.The shrimp and snow crab were fresh and delicious, and the corn and potatoes soaked up all the great flavor from the seasoning. The only down side is lobster and Dungeness crab to 1 serving per person now. I would have taken them out of business if they kept that going. This is a very good AYCE crab place. Like others I've been to, you tell the server the items you want for your platter (seafood includes crab legs, blue crab (in season), head/headless shrimp, clams, mussels and lobster - 1 lobster per person) and sides, including broccoli, corn, potato, sausage, and other items. The food comes out a few minutes later on a tray. There's a tasty, seasoned sauce at the bottom of the platter, great for dipping the seafood and sides into. (We didn't get to pick a type of sauce or a heat level as you can at some other crab boils, but this sauce pleased the palates of both me and my partner.) In addition, you can order raw oysters (you can order up to a dozen at a time!) as well as a variety of fried items, including fried shrimp, fried scallops, chicken wings, French fries, onion rings and some other things. There's also boiled eggs, ramen and a few other items available. Whew, there's a lot to choose from. And everything was delicious. The raw oysters came with a small cup of hot sauce, one with cocktail sauce and one with horseradish. Were the oysters the best I've ever had? Of course not. But they were tasty, fresh and cold and unlimited. The crab was nice and sweet and it was easy to remove the outer shell of the headless shrimp. The shrimp were a nice size and had a decent texture - they were not hard or chewy. The sausage was good and the potato was not hard and not mushy. I liked the corn too. No complaints about anything in the seafood platter. The chicken wings were good. The fried shrimp were ok - I think the coating was too heavy and lacked flavor. The coating on the shrimp convinced me to stay away from the other fried items - but I probably should have tried the scallops or the onion rings. Next time. For $49.99, I was well satisfied as was my partner. Everything was delish. The service was good, too. The server came over from time to time to ask if we wanted our water glasses filled or to see if we wanted to order more. When we did order more, the order went directly from her iPad to the kitchen and the food came promptly thereafter. One of the "sides" in the AYCE is ice cream. I came here recently with friends and had my heart on the ayce. Lunch special 19.99..its so limited.. mostly deep fried seafood.. you have your mains and sides to choose from. I was like I wanted sno crab legs but because I had lunch prior, I was still full. Our waitress was Christy, although she was very pleasant and nice, oftentimes she would disappear. My crab legs were decent, however, I wasnt feeling the sauce or whatever my crab legs were swimming in. .green mussels were good... The clams were a joke. Tiny! I was expecting cherrystone or little necks. So yeah, that was a disappointment. I don't recommend the ACYE also you're on a time limit, 90 minutes. They time you on that tablet. I don't recommend either ayce if your not starving. Also they implement a waste fee and a 18% gratuity if you get acye. They are better than Hook n Reel. Came here for dinner with friends while visiting Maryland. It's located in a strip mall and a pretty decent size restaurant with lots of tables. While they have an all-you-can-eat option, everyone has to do it so keep that in mind. We opted to order a-la carte because we had kids with us and it wouldn't be worth the AYCE price. There seem to be some communication snafu where I asked for the combo to be in 1 sauce and the separate order of crab legs to be in another sauce. My order came in 1 big bag but she was did bring me a side dish with the sauce that I wanted to try. The seafood was ok. The butter garlic was extremely salty! We could not eat any of the shrimp at the bottom of the bag without worrying about having our blood pressure spike with the salt intake. I didn't mind because it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves :) There are two AYCE options: 1) $49.99 comes with snow crab legs, shrimp, headless shrimp, green mussels, black mussels, oysters, and king crab 2) $39.99 all of the above except the oysters and king crab Both options include a bunch of fried food options such as fried shrimp, fried scallops, fried oysters, fried catfish, French fries, sweet potato fries, wings, etc. You can also choose from a bunch of sides to add in to your seafood boil such as broccoli, corn, potato's, sausage, ramen, rice, and eggs. We opted for the $39.99 since we don't care for oysters. Everyone at the table has to participate in the same AYCE option as well as the flavor and spice level for each round since everything is served on one big platter. Long overdue review ... Came here for dinner on a weekend. First time, so didn't know what to expect. We ended up getting an AYCE option from those listed on the wall. I can't remember which one, but it included several fried items and crab legs, etc. I do remember there was a limit to the Dungeness crab (I think) but no limit on Snow Crab legs. Honestly, it was a ton of food. I made my own boils with the different items selected. The place was definitely decorated nicely and it was clean. I did like that you could order as much as you wanted, without being wasteful. I think for the price, you get a good amount of food and the food was pretty good. We had a younger female serve us (sorry can't remember her name) but she was knowledgeable and nice. She didn't have to be called over and was attentive on her own. This is definitely not a first date kind of place and it will get messy if you're eating crab legs! But if you're coming to eat here, you should be ready to throw down and get your hands dirty. I hope they improve this, as offering more customizable options would likely attract more customers. Another concern is the gratuity. While I usually tip 20% or more, seeing gratuity already included makes me feel it's being hidden. On top of that, when I tip extra, it seems redundant, which is frustrating. Service is really sweet and they don't hurry you or make you wait for refills. It's about all you can ask for in a seafood feast type of joint and at a price you don't need to wait for a special occasion. I recently started to get into seafood boil and this is now one of my favorite spots to go to as they have an all you can eat menu unlike other places. We came on a Sunday night and it was relatively quiet with not too many tables in the restaurant. Their all you can eat option was $49.99 for items like snow crab, raw oysters, blue crab, shrimp, mussel, crawfish and 1 lobster tail per person and a bunch of different sides and appetizers which I thought was a good deal since it includes a lot of different variety. They also have set platters or you can order a la carte as well. Of course we opted for the all you can eat option. When ordering you just have to tell them what you want and the server automatically puts it in their iPad and it comes out on a tray instead of a bag. You can also ask what other kind of seasoning they have since it's not listed on their menu, we kind of forgot to ask or specify for the first time so the waitress ended up just doing the feasty special seasoning blend in mild so thats good to know. The sauce for their special was very flavorful and went really well as a great dipping sauce for our seafood. We also tried their lemon pepper blend and garlic butter I believe and found it made the seafood even more saltier so we ended up just staying with their traditional house blend. However we also did noticed that overall towards the end of our meal when we ordered more plates, that the sauce wasn't as good as the first time we got it as the seasoning wasn't as well mixed it and it was very separated from the liquid (I believe it was butter or oil) so there were a lot of pieces of seafood that just had massive clumps of seasoning on it. I thought the food was delicious and overall the seafood was pretty decent for the price. Some of the snow crabs were hard to get out of the shell which often means that they cooked it for too long or it wasn't properly defrosted before cooking but it wasn't a huge problem for us, just means it took a bit longer to get the meat out. The crabs were pretty juicy, sweet and had a good amount of meat in them especially for the size. The raw oysters were also pretty good and big as they weren't too salty, sweet or creamy in my opinion but I wasn't a huge fan of it, but can't complain as it was part of the AYCE option (they also automatically bring out a dozen if you don't specify a quantity). The shrimps were pretty massive and had a good texture to them which I love and often look for in a good seafood boil. We also tried the crab rangoons which were also decent as the filling was nice but small and it wasn't my favorite thing but also can't complain as it's part of the AYCE menu. Our waitress was also super attentive as she constantly came to check in on us when we were almost done with our plates to ask us if we wanted to add more so we were never waiting around for our next plate. She also made sure to inform us when they were closing and if we wanted to put in a last order before their kitchen closed. Wow wow wow. They are currently running the All You Can Eat for $39.99 with time limit of 1 hour 45 minutes. Hands down the best seafood quality for AYCE. And the items included are extensive. Best all you can eat seafood in MoCo. Absolutely love the crabs. The dungeness crabs were huge. And the other crabs - snow and Maryland blues were not so bad either. They did not disappoint. Feasty Crabs have so much variety of seafood- both fried and boiled. The sauce that the boiled seafood were in was so delicious and it became so much more yummier when I squeezed some lemon on top. On the fried seafood, the standouts were the calamari and oysters. The calamari were really substantial. I prefer the boiled seafood variety and for maximum tummy space I skipped the round potatoes and corn. However, I could not help myself and ordered one round of sweet potato fries for the table. It had the perfect sweetness to get the savory feel for the meal. For raw seafood, hubby and daughter demolished the raw oysters. I believe they had 2 dozen between them. The servers are super efficient and were quick to provide your orders. We ordered just enough in one go to ensure the food was nice and hot and as we needed more we ordered another round. If you love seafood, I suggest you run over to Feasty Crabs. Better yet, go on a weeknight so that you can be as much of a pig without too many people staring at you. This restaurant is wired ! Seems owner made lots of rules . 1) Everyone has to do the same thing at the same table. For example they have lots options, price from $19:.99 to $69.99 (not sure) so make sure talk to your party before you go. 2) The owner won't let you order unless you finish, she will say , she is going to charge you if you waste any food or has leftover . For me once I stopped eating I'm done , I can't wait for 10 mins and go back to eat . 3) Be aware the owner charges '18% gratuity from your total after 6% tax . Please refer my receipt pic I uploaded lo .I had $37.99 all you can eat , for what I know before you tip before tax. That explains me why the owner was not nice and almost no service because she got 18% tips anyway no bother! Overall the seafood was fresh, atmosphere was very quiet. read more

I tried the AYCE lunch buffet for $19.99 option but this by itself was just ok. The best part was the head on shrimp which was large jumbo size shrimp that was well cooked and I prefer the lemon pepper or garlic butter seasoning since the feasty special seasoning was too salty for me. You can also add Dungeness crab legs for $7 which was a good deal and my next favorite item here and snow crab legs for $5 which was not enough meat for meat for a cluster. The fried foods were better that were included in the lunch buffet and I liked the fried scallops, fried shrimp and sweet potato fries. The dinner special comes with MD blue crabs when they are in season for $37.99 and I would have upgraded to that if that was available so I will come back to try that next time.
