Fried Oyster Basket
David M.

The seafood boil was delicious; well seasoned. The Shrimp Po" Boy was delicious;. The shrimp were golden brown and crispy. The fried oysters were great; fried to perfection. The sweet potatoes fries were outstanding. The Sweet Thai Chili wings were ok. If I order them again I will request more sauce. The service was outstanding. The waiter was polite, patient, friendly, honest, helpful and understanding. The restaurant was clean, quiet and very welcoming. I will definitely patronize this restaurant again.

wow, wow, wow, this was honestly the best seafood boil I've ever had! We went on a weekday when the restaurant was pretty empty, so we didn't need a reservation. Not much else to say except that the food is absolutely fantastic. If you're a fan of seafood boils, this place is a must-try!

5/5 - we struggled with the service last time but lately it seems like they've hired more people for the weekend rushes and have a lot more help! We finally had enough people in our group to go for the larger 4 person order (we had 5 people) - they also keep it heated the entire time which was an amazing small detail Sauce is undefeated, go for atleast medium!

I absolutely enjoyed my experience here!!! Came here with my family (8 of us). Our waiter Arthur was very attentive and friendly. He came over to check on us multiple times. I ordered a boil with crab legs and peeled shrimp (Cajun / medium). It most definitely had a nice kick to it! It was very flavorful and I'm surprised I finished the whole bag. I also had the passion fruit margarita and strawberry margarita. Both were great!

FIRST OFF! Big shoutout to Arthur, he was great! Super helpful, answered all our questions and kept up with us ordering /changing our minds We are from California and this was our first seafood place since moving and MAN! The juicy seafood really set the bar HIGH! The vibe was giving that episode of penny proud, where her family got seafood and it fell from the ceiling! Really mad my inner kid happy The food was sooooo good! GET THE JUICY SPECIAL! 110/100 It was fast and fresh! Definitely coming again for our next feast Friday night!!! ARTHER YOU ROCK! You better get the full tip!!!! No promo needed! This place is great!

4 PEOPLE COMBO "ROCK THE BOAT":

Great Seafood boil(we ordered the 4 people combo with Juicy Special Sauce & a Medium Spice level), with refillable drinks. Not crowded or messy and service was quick(no need for reservations). The place was clean and overall a cool vibe, with the music not being overly loud. Only thing that could be better is their key lime pie(covered in a thick/hard whipped cream) and the waiters weren't very attentive and came around occasionally. Will be back to try more of their menu!

We had a great time experiencing the seafood boil at this spot. The food was flavorful and satisfying. The only downside was the juicy seafood sauce--it was packed with flavor but had too many garlic bits for my taste that it tasted very much like garlic. We came during lunch and took advantage of the lunch pricing, which was unbeatable. We ordered the fried oyster basket (10 pieces), which I'd rate a 2/5 and wouldn't recommend. We also got 1 lb of sausage, which came unseasoned when we had ordered it to be seasoned, but tasted much better once added to the boil. Each person had 12 oz of shrimp for $14.50, which was a solid deal. Service was a bit slow, and we had to flag down the staff a few times to get their attention. Despite that, the overall experience was enjoyable, and the food made up for the minor things.

After having our first seafood boil in Florida, we were SO happy to find Juicy Seafood locally. Upon walking in, the restaurant is clean and welcoming. The hostess and servers were a bit slow but we weren't in a hurry. You have the choice of getting a pre-made combo or creating your own boil. We created our own with a pound of shrimp, half pound of crawfish, and half pound of mussels. We got the house seasoning, mild spice, and extra corn on the cob. The boil is delivered on a tray with the bag still tied (different than our Florida experience where they untied the bag for you). The seafood was flavorful and filling. It is happy hour from 3pm-6pm every day, so we made sure to show up during that time to take advantage of the deals. It is located in a popular strip mall, so parking is available but not plentiful.

I was very torn on giving a 5 star review but decided to give Juicy 4 stars primarily because I saw a baby mouse run through the restaurant. It appears very clean but really there shouldn't be any rodents in a food establishment. My family and I went tonight to celebrate my sister's birthday. We ordered the titanic and substituted crawfish with mussels. It was a lot of food but definitely worth it for feeding 6 people. Service was very good. Our waitress was very attentive.

Whenever I get a craving for steamed seafood, I go to Juicy Seafood on Bel Pre. The restaurant is tucked away in the Del Mercado Shopping Center next to CVS. The restaurant is always clean and the staff is great. I usually order Combo B which includes Shrimp, Crawfish, and snow crab. I add a lobster tail to round off combo. Seafood taste pretty fresh and rhe sauces are very tasty. I usually order Juicy Special sauce which is a combination of their sauces. Of course, I have to have a Blue Hawaiian to wash it all done. I look forward to my next visit.

Mmmm mmm, love me some good crawfish !! Super reasonably priced for the size and proportions. Ordered the Medium Spice Juicy Special on the crawfish and would totally do it again. Service was attentive and we didn't have to wait on a table (friday night). Great local spot for your seafood cravings!

Oysters are in good size! I asked the waitress if their oysters were local but she wasn't sure. She said they might come from the Eastern Shore. The lemon and pepper sauce was pretty good. I love the fact that they have a decent outdoor seating area which is perfect for your fur friends.

Do they honor cheaper substitutions in their combos, e.g. corn instead of sausage or clams instead of crawfish?

I'm still fairly new to the area and had been wanting to try this location for a while, but it's usually been too busy during my previous visits. I stopped by yesterday for happy hour and ordered a seafood boil, and it ended up being one of the worst I've had. Something about it just seemed off, and the flavor was noticeably different from other locations I've visited. I'm not sure what went wrong, but it was disappointing. The only redeeming part of my visit were the happy hour drinks, which honestly made the meal a bit easier to get through. I was really hoping for a better experience and hope this was just an off day.

Because I've not found real Louisiana boudin anywhere else in the DC area, and because of the family's hospitality, I will give them 4 stars. The Jambalaya Shack is a catering business that was present at this past weekend's Breaux Vineyards Cajun Festival. They're from southern Louisiana, and seem to get invited to cater many of their events. They had jambalaya, corn maque choux, and boudin links. Because I was waiting on live boiled crawfish from another vendor, I decided to just share a link of boudin for $5. Their young boy said after I ordered, "Sure! You have to ring the boudin bell!" So I did, while his mother laughed and wrapped up a link for me. She made sure I knew how to eat it (I did), and I asked her if it was spicy or not (she said not at all...probably due to the DC clientele...but that they were good and that they shipped them straight from Louisiana). They also had an assortment of mild Cajun seasonings and hot sauces. It was not the best boudin I've ever had (that one goes to the Boudin King in Louisiana), but it was slightly better than the boudin I can get at the grocery store in Texas (but bigger). The Jambalaya Shack's also had good amounts of little liver pieces in it. I wish I had had hotter seasonings (cayenne chile powder would have been awesome) to spice it up with... I wish I had also tried their namesake jambalaya, but it was the chicken/sausage variety and other than the boudin, I was in the mood for seafood. I do think I was the only person I saw at the festival that tried the boudin (or probably knew what it was). Speaking of seafood, the other caterer's boiled crawfish was bland, and Jambalaya Shack was nice enough to let us have some of their seasonings. They saved the day.

I had some mild expectations when arriving at Barrel & Crow which were quickly met and exceeded. Our party of four enjoyed a truly delightful and delicious meal. From the moment we sat down, our server--Dan--delivered five-star service. He was genuinely friendly, attentive without hovering. His knowledge of the menu and thorough description of the dishes was also notable. Some were his favorites, so he really described them (all) with mucho gusto. It was like we were guests in his home. We basically ended up ordering literally everything he recommended and he was absolutely spot-on. We started with the fried green tomatoes and calamari. Our smorgasbord of entrées included the lamb bolognese (my favorite, though sadly not the one I ordered), a beautifully tender lamb shank, spiced shrimp and grits, and a deeply flavorful andouille and seafood gumbo. Each dish was thoughtful and well prepared, though the shrimp and grits were a bit savorier than I'm accustomed to. Dessert didn't disappoint either. We savored the chocolate torte and also their signature sweet beignets. They were the perfect ending to an already stellar meal.We left behind so many other tempting menu items and looking forward to our next visit.
