1 lb shrimps in crab world special sauce
Yin Y.

Being bold (and risky), I ordered both snow crabs and shrimp in its world special sauce. And it proved to be the right choice. This special sauce is kinda a mixture of canjun and butter - a perfect combination. Shrimps are jumbo and fresh. I appreciate the chef who took the time and clean all shrimps before cooking. The cut on the shrimp back also made it easy to peel off the shrimp skin. Took one star off b/c the snow crab doesn't taste fresh. It's ok but did taste like it's been frozen for long. Delivery was also fast (uber eats). Would definitely order again.

6" Steak and Cheese Sub

My neighbor recommended this place to me and I figured I'd give them a shot. I was surprised when I arrived as I thought this was an actual restaurant but in fact it's prettt much a seafood carry out. With that in mind I wanted to get a variety of food. We ordered the following: Dungeness Crab Leg Boil Shrimp and Sausage Boil Fried Whiting Friend Shrimp Steak & Cheese Half and Half First off the Half and Half is DELICIOUS!!! A must get. Now onto the food. The Fried shrimp were warm and tasty. The Fried Whiting tasted like chicken. They probably use the same grease because I originally thought I was eating chicken and they forgot my fish. The Dungeness Crab Leg boil is a waste of money. These are regular crab legs. They are also old and hard. Not what I'm accustomed to. The Shrimp and Sausage Boil was a lot of food. Took my wife 2 days to eat it all. The steak and cheese didn't taste that well to me. Overall the food was decent. I doubt I return but good luck to anyone that does.

I love this place ! Can't even count on two hands how many times I've order here and each time the quality has been amazing. In addition to that , the prices are very reasonable. They are always very sweet and have my order finished very quickly!

1lb shrimp no head, corn and potatoes
Dinh N.

Ordered the 1lb shrimp with no head in the hot world sauce. It came with a corn and 2 potatoes. The sauce was pretty good, hot was spicy but not overwhelmingly. It went well with the potatoes. The shrimp didn't soak in as much of the flavor and the corn was not great.

I am so happy this place is in the neighborhood. Decided to give the delivery a try and I was not disappointed. Be sure to order the world sauce, which is a delicious combo of all the sauces on their menu, old bay, Cajun, lemon pepper and garlic butter. The seafood was fresh and perfectly broiled. The vegetables were also cooked well and a great compliment to the seafood. Looking forward to coming back and trying some other menu items asap.

It might be that I'm a bit picky, but the food here isn't really to my liking; it's just average.

From the out side it look dark and dreary but inside its bright and airy. Very approps to the DC vibe. You'll be greated and seated with that DC flair. The Market went viral so they were short on Lobster meat. Delivery is daily and we got there too early. So we settled on some Salmon Jerk Thai fried rice and Crab Eggrolls. The flavor explosion was massive. The Salmon was thoughly cooked and moist with great flavor. The rice exquisitely seasoned. It was really really good but not Thai flavored. Its not spicey nor was there that lime that Thai food has. Yet, it was delicious non the less. The Eggrolls were bomb. Fully creamy with a great chrisp. I know creamy is weird right? It's totally worked. Theres an electric lemonade and watermelon drink special that's vibrant and delicious. It sets the mood of the evening. Its definitely worth a try. I mean DC sea food scene needed a little invigorating, right!

Also I just had to check it out since I was surprised by an upper mid seafood concept spot "way out here" in Brightwood/ KDY. The salmon bites were tasty, but not memorable. I do wanna come back and try their catfish and or whiting sandwiches. Overall, A for effort. I think the vision is admirable, if not really brave trying to make a living from an upper-mid level takeout seafood spot in a slower residential neighborhood, somewhat far from the high foot traffic parts of town. I hope they're wildly successful.

Very homey style restaurant with friendly waiters! We made a reservation but I don't think you…read morewould need one. Hot toddy - waiter recommended, it's hot and has honey lemon taste like a tea but the alcohol is also a bit strong 2/5 Pineapple margarita - very very strong almost like straight alcohol lol 1/5 Red sangria - super well balanced and fruity! Very yummy 4/5 White sangria - a little bit sharper alcohol flavor and less well balanced but still good 3/5 Embutido Combo - Jamon Serrano, Salchichon de Vic, Chorizo Iberico - I'm not sure which is which so going by the picture left to right. A little spicy, overall good quality but I do think they put a bit too much oil which made it have an extra oil taste 2.5/5 Middle - like prosciutto this is the best one! Not dry at all in any area and not too salty 3.75/5 Right - least favorite but it is still good overall. Taste a little less yummy than the one on the right even though the one on the right is too oily 2/5 Queso Mahon - rich and cheesy. Not too sticky and very soft. I like the little fruit it comes with too 3/5 Seared scallop - usually squid in rice I feel like is just color but this one was super savory and delicious with a unique taste too that I'm thinking must be from the ink! It's made super well and the crispy sear on the scallop adds so much flavor but also the scallop was not overcooked at all, super bouncy and tender. 4.5/5 Spanish risotto - very moist and yummy! Even though it's just vegetables it's made well 3.75/5 Crispy pork belly - falls apart and very tender. Not dry at all! Unfortunately too salty though. Also very heavy. Meat too salty but veggies it came with like potato that soaks up the flavor was like inedible too salty 2/5 Seafood paella - I think it came out a bit faster than 40 minutes but I didn't keep track. Large serving size! Wish there was more seafood but lots of rice! Very moist and flavorful rice, seafood flavor comes through too! Wish they cooked it longer though since bottom is not crispy at all. Shrimp is overcooked unfortunately but individually seasoned. All the squids and octopus don't have much flavor but cooked well and not chewy at all. Mussels were good too but had some weird webbing on some pieces that made me not want to eat it and size is a bit small. Needs more seafood to balance the rice amount 4.25/5 Crimini mushroom - weird with the poached egg especially since there's a bunch of mushroom liquid below that I think would mix weirdly together. But ignoring that, the mushrooms themselves were very flavorful and actually taste really great with paella! 3.75/5 Basque cheesecake - very heavy and dense. Jam is not too sweet which is nice 1.5/5 Churros - very airy and light inside! The fried part is more than double the inside though so wish that was a little less thick so it can be a little less oily but still overall light. Came very warm and the dipping sauces were very liquidy. Chocolate is on the darker side which is a nice match 3/5

I went to Atxondo hoping to taste the work of a Basque chef, and found out that the new chef is…read morefrom El Salvador, but has studied cookery in Spain. After having a full meal with cocktails, appetizer, entree, dessert and coffee (about $70 per person), I concluded that Atxondo will be a definite future destination for Happy Hour and light bites, but that my full meal dining dollars will be spent elsewhere. The Patatas Bravas (Fingerling Potatoes) were outstanding, with their two tasty sauces and rich, crispy flavor and texture. The Hibiscus Margarita with its salt and tajín rim was good enough to warrant a second one... but the Sangria was lackluster due to the complete absence of cut-up fresh fruit in my glass. The "Crispy Duck Breast" is no longer served whole, but sliced on a bed of sauteed kale... and, sadly, seemed to be only a shadow of its former self. The Lamb Meatballs suffered from being mushy (a coarser grind would have made a world of difference in the texture) and lacked that meaty exuberance one treasures in any kind of meatball. My serving of Basque Cheesecake was almost comically tiny (at $9 per serving, perhaps not so funny after all). But my cup of Americano came out of the espresso machine strapping strong and piping hot, with a gorgeous head of natural crema from the oil of the coffee beans. So I will definitely return for a future Happy Hour to devour the outstanding Patatas Bravas and sip the good Margaritas, and to try the bargain Manchego Burger and other Happy Hour bites. For serious dining, Atxondo falls short of the mark... but for drinks and bar food, Atxondo turns out to be a real neighborhood gem. .

Dinner at San Matteo, yes please and thank you!…read more Good food and service was memorable adding San Matteo to the list of favorites. The front patio is cute and a nice spot to sit on a nice day. We entered the restaurant, pasted the bar and made our way to the back. We were pleasantly surprised with a nice outdoor feeling to dine at. We were immediately greeted by our waiter, given water and warm bread with olive oil. To kick off our meal everyone had different ideas of what they were craving so we went with three starters. PROSCIUTTO E MOZZARELLA for one. It that had the usual meat and cheese board with nuts, mini bread crackers and jam. I liked how pistachio pieces were found in the meats and cheese. [5/5] BEEF CARPACCIO which is a family favorite of ours was a must try. The tender slices of beef with arugula, with sliced capers and celery. It reminded us of our trips to Italy. [5/5] FRITTO MISTO came next. This mixed lite battered bowl of seafood goodness with a little spice delight. It had calamari, fish, shrimp, garlic, zucchini and chilies. I really liked how the batter was lite which says a lot because I love really crispy anything. [ 5/5] On to the main courses, we proceeded with different pasta noodle dishes. BUCATINI BOLOGNESE one of my favorite pasta noodles was my selection. The noodles were al dente and the sauce and meat were excellent. [5/5] PAPPARDELLE CINGHIALE was my husband's pick. The pappardelle noodles were al dente and nicely accompanied the meat with the tasty sauce. Topped with ricotta; the dish was full of flavor. [5/5] CHICKEN ALFREDO was the last pick. Not an authentic Italian dish; however, hats off to the chef for making this for our picky eater in the family. The sauce was creamy and delicious. Noodles were cooked perfectly. [5/5] Surprisingly we had just enough room for a sweet ending - an Affogato. Whoaza! The espresso was yummy; put some hair on our picky eater's chest. It had a hint of licorice flavor that was unique. Let's not forget the San Matteo Spritz. Smoky and highly enjoyable. I loved it and will order again when I return. Overall, San Matteo hit all the check boxes for our lovely family dinner. The staff were attentive and never left us wanting more water, food or waiting long. The food was tasty. It seems upscale with a casual feel. Some people were dressed for date night while others were having a casual meal with family or friends. The seating options of areas were all unique in its own way. Front patio for a nice day, from the front indoor dining area for maybe a more intimate feel, bar and table top area for a drink and appetizer going solo or with a friend; and lastly the back dining area for a a bigger group to enjoy your meal. Mixing up the dining options that suits you. I'll be back to try other dishes.
