I was passing through the neighborhood and found myself really hungry so I decided to pop in and grab a quick bite. Also I just had to check it out since I was surprised by an upper mid seafood concept spot "way out here" in Brightwood/ KDY. The salmon bites were tasty, but not memorable. I do wanna come back and try their catfish and or whiting sandwiches. Overall, A for effort. I think the vision is admirable, if not really brave trying to make a living from an upper-mid level takeout seafood spot in a slower residential neighborhood, somewhat far from the high foot traffic parts of town. I ordered the Rasta pasta and crab legs a few weeks ago. Rasta pasta sent me to the toilet for two days. It was extremely oily. Flavorful, but drowned in too much oil. The crab legs were criminal. It is my belief that If you sell crab legs anywhere in the DMV, please learn how to store and then cook them, so that they're always served fresh. I could be biased because I placed my order to-go, but I'm a crab leg connoisseur and often get them from the Wharf and other restaurants in the DMV. I've never had such a disappointing experience. No flavor or sweetness. The meat was dry. And that good pull of meat that one would expect, never occurred because the meat was so dry, it locked onto the inside of the shell. This is my second time patronizing. I don't think I left a review on the first experience with the very dry filet of fish because I wanted to be fair... "maybe they had an off-day". I believe in "third times a charm" and will order different items soon, since I'm pescatarian, the menu items are perfect and I'm not far from the location. But so far, it's been a huge disappointing miss. I'm hoping the food can improve so this can become a regular for me... fingers crossed. I recently came here for lunch and was pleasantly surprised they have happy hour on the weekends! It is a cozy restaurant and I enjoyed their playlist. My only complaint was service was a little slow. I had the dungeoness crab legs with the garlic cajun butter sauce. The flavors of the sauce really stood out and I enjoyed the quality of the crab. The garlic noodles were also tasty and I loved how big the portion was especially for the price. Sometimes garlic noodles can be dry but these were far from it! She offered recommendations and pointed out their happy hour drinks on Sundays. For an appetizer we ordered the Fried Calamari. I really wished this was seasoned. The sauce saved the calamari from being a 0/5. They were really bland. The Lobster and Cajun shrimp pasta was delicious. This came out hot, seasoned and tasty. My only complaint is the tail was still on the shrimp. I have no clue who eats this part. My wife ordered the whiting sandwich. The highlight of our meal was the Jerk Thai Fried Rice with Red Snapper. Y'all. The first bite I took was of the fried rice and literally had to put my fork down for how AHMAZING it was. Perfectly flavored and cooked. The jerk had a nice kick to it that wasn't overwhelming or painful but I will suggest that if you have a low spice level, don't get it. The snapper was perfectly breaded, seasoned, and fried and complimented the rice so well. Once I started eating, I couldn't stop and completely forgot to take pictures of my meal. The crispy fried texture, though, was outstanding, and I truly appreciated that. The salmon bites had a thick batter, and the frying was a bit on the crispy side, bordering on burnt. But let me tell you about the egg rolls; they transported me to the south with their "she crab soup, side of crackers" taste. It felt like I was by the beach on a chilly day, wrapped in a blanket of love, gazing at the sunset. However, the red snapper!!! That jerk Thai fried rice is still on my mind. It was placed directly on top of the fries, which either were undercooked to start with or were made super soggy by being under the fish. I ordered Salmon cheesesteak. I was not disappointed, the salmon was well cooked and the food came out hot, much to my liken. The service was great. I am however on the fence about whether or not I will go back. The restaurant was noisy with a group at the bar talking all loud and throwing out some "choice words". Also, my fault, I did not look at my receipt until later to see a 20% service charge, for what exactly I don't know as this was separate from the tip.
