    Garlic Noodles

I recently came here for lunch and was pleasantly surprised they have happy hour on the weekends! It is a cozy restaurant and I enjoyed their playlist. My only complaint was service was a little slow. I had the dungeoness crab legs with the garlic cajun butter sauce. The flavors of the sauce really stood out and I enjoyed the quality of the crab. The garlic noodles were also tasty and I loved how big the portion was especially for the price. Sometimes garlic noodles can be dry but these were far from it! The drinks were tasty and bartender definitely didn't skimp on the alcohol! I will definitely be back.

If you're looking for a cool spot for happy hour, Shellfish Market is a vibe. I came midday with a friend and we enjoyed their Happy Hour selections. The Strawberry Dream drink was definitely worth it and the bar tender didn't skimp out on the alcohol which was a definite plus! I ordered the Shellfish Combo #2, the Cajun garlic boil sauce is BOMB one of the best boil sauces I've had. My only complaint is that my food was slightly lukewarm, and we were one of two customers in the restaurant at the time so I was expecting a piping hot meal. However, the flavor definitely made up for it. Service was also good!

Saw this spot on instagram and knew I needed to stop by. My wife and I went on a Sunday right when they opened and were quickly seated, Our waitress was prompted and helpful. She offered recommendations and pointed out their happy hour drinks on Sundays. For an appetizer we ordered the Fried Calamari. I really wished this was seasoned. The sauce saved the calamari from being a 0/5. They were really bland. The Lobster and Cajun shrimp pasta was delicious. This came out hot, seasoned and tasty. My only complaint is the tail was still on the shrimp. I have no clue who eats this part. My wife ordered the whiting sandwich. Doesn't look like a sandwich as you put it together yourself but the fish was seasoned and tasty. The fries were salty but I loved them, Overall it's a cool spot in the middle of the hood. Be VERY AWARE of your surroundings. I'll be back to try more.

Where can I start? I saw this place come upon my Tik tok feed and had to try it! We got there on a Tuesday night and outside of one other table; we were the only ones in the restaurant. Sam, the waitress/bartender was amazing! The place is on the smaller side but the atmosphere is lovely. They played a medley of new and old R&B music and had a beautiful cloud installment on their ceilings. On to the food. We ordered the crispy Brussel sprouts (pictured with and without flash) and OH EM GEE! Probably the best Brussels I've had in a long time, if ever. They were perfectly crispy and amazing flavors. The highlight of our meal was the Jerk Thai Fried Rice with Red Snapper. Y'all. The first bite I took was of the fried rice and literally had to put my fork down for how AHMAZING it was. Perfectly flavored and cooked. The jerk had a nice kick to it that wasn't overwhelming or painful but I will suggest that if you have a low spice level, don't get it. The snapper was perfectly breaded, seasoned, and fried and complimented the rice so well. Once I started eating, I couldn't stop and completely forgot to take pictures of my meal. We also got the mac and cheese to go. Also very tasty but it is jerked which I don't think the menu mentions. I would 10000/10 go back and have already recommended a few friends. It is in Ft Totten which, if you're in central DC, is a little far but completely worth the trip.

Been eyeing this place for a little now and I'm glad I finally checked it out. I mean you have to treat yourself. I ordered the salmon cheesesteak and OMG! I was a bit shook at how great it tasted. I can't wait to return and try some of the other options on the menu (especially the shrimp seafood boil). I tried taking pictures of my sub but they didn't do it any Justice. I'd you're ever in the area, please check them out!

Red Snapper with Jerk Thai Fried Rice

The host was amazing; they had the door open to air out the place but later closed it. The restaurant was very clean and comfortable. I'd recommend coming in the early evening for a great vibe before it gets dark because the lighting and playlist were fantastic! Now, onto the food. I was delighted that they took some of my suggestions. The calamari was good, although it needed a touch more salt and pepper in the batter. The crispy fried texture, though, was outstanding, and I truly appreciated that. The salmon bites had a thick batter, and the frying was a bit on the crispy side, bordering on burnt. But let me tell you about the egg rolls; they transported me to the south with their "she crab soup, side of crackers" taste. It felt like I was by the beach on a chilly day, wrapped in a blanket of love, gazing at the sunset. However, the red snapper!!! That jerk Thai fried rice is still on my mind. Please, never EVER CHANGE THAT because I'll definitely be back for more! I'll risk it all with spices, because the burnt booty is worth it!!

Visited this place on a Tuesday and it was not crowded like it should be. The music was a vibe. Food was great. I even got to meet the Owner and Chef. I was able to catch happy hour and kick it with my friend. I would definitely be returning for the lobster dish.

    I can't go home!

There were two bartenders working at that time. The bartender in question was not the Asian woman, but rather a woman who appeared to be mixed with Black and White. Her behavior toward me and my husband was extremely unprofessional, inappropriate, and disrespectful. From the moment I approached the bar, she was unfriendly, dismissive, and gave me dirty looks. She then made a highly inappropriate comment toward my husband, stating that she was "out of strawberry Hennessy but sweet enough for him," and later propositioned him for sex in exchange for money. I ordered two drinks -- a Jolly Rancher and a Long Island. My drink had no alcohol in it, despite costing nearly $50 for both drinks. When my husband returned the drink to the bar and mentioned that it lacked alcohol, the bartender laughed and called me a "bitch." This experience left me deeply uncomfortable and disrespected, especially as a married woman. It is unacceptable for staff to engage in such inappropriate and sexually suggestive behavior toward customers. The bartender's actions made me feel unsafe and completely unwelcome, and I will not return to Rose Bar as a result. I am requesting that this matter be investigated immediately and that appropriate action be taken against the bartender involved. I also recommend that management review its employee conduct policies and sexual harassment training to ensure all patrons are treated with dignity and respect. Thank you for your attention to this serious matter. I am available to provide additional details if needed. Atxondo really strikes me as an underrated gem. It's only about a mile walk from the Petworth Metro, is right on several bus lines and for us, coming from silver spring, the drive was a very easy ~15 minutes. Intrigued to hear how often people in the neighborhood come here. It's mostly a tapas style, so everything but the paella is smaller plates. Everything is wonderfully tasty. The mini chorizo, with the accompanying chips absorbing the chorizo liquid were awesome and our group also loved the cremini mushrooms. I love a good paella and Atxondo's is a standout. really wonderfull flavored and plenty for our group of 5. They say it's enough for 2-4, but unless its your only meal of the day, I fully think a group of 2 would have leftovers. It's definitely on our list to return

Hot toddy - waiter recommended, it's hot and has honey lemon taste like a tea but the alcohol is also a bit strong 2/5 Pineapple margarita - very very strong almost like straight alcohol lol 1/5 Red sangria - super well balanced and fruity! Very yummy 4/5 White sangria - a little bit sharper alcohol flavor and less well balanced but still good 3/5 Embutido Combo - Jamon Serrano, Salchichon de Vic, Chorizo Iberico - I'm not sure which is which so going by the picture left to right. A little spicy, overall good quality but I do think they put a bit too much oil which made it have an extra oil taste 2.5/5 Middle - like prosciutto this is the best one! Not dry at all in any area and not too salty 3.75/5 Right - least favorite but it is still good overall. Taste a little less yummy than the one on the right even though the one on the right is too oily 2/5 Queso Mahon - rich and cheesy. Not too sticky and very soft. I like the little fruit it comes with too 3/5 Seared scallop - usually squid in rice I feel like is just color but this one was super savory and delicious with a unique taste too that I'm thinking must be from the ink! It's made super well and the crispy sear on the scallop adds so much flavor but also the scallop was not overcooked at all, super bouncy and tender. 4.5/5 Spanish risotto - very moist and yummy! Even though it's just vegetables it's made well 3.75/5 Crispy pork belly - falls apart and very tender. Not dry at all! Unfortunately too salty though. Also very heavy. Meat too salty but veggies it came with like potato that soaks up the flavor was like inedible too salty 2/5 Seafood paella - I think it came out a bit faster than 40 minutes but I didn't keep track. Large serving size! Wish there was more seafood but lots of rice! Very moist and flavorful rice, seafood flavor comes through too! Wish they cooked it longer though since bottom is not crispy at all. Shrimp is overcooked unfortunately but individually seasoned. All the squids and octopus don't have much flavor but cooked well and not chewy at all. Mussels were good too but had some weird webbing on some pieces that made me not want to eat it and size is a bit small. Needs more seafood to balance the rice amount 4.25/5 Crimini mushroom - weird with the poached egg especially since there's a bunch of mushroom liquid below that I think would mix weirdly together. But ignoring that, the mushrooms themselves were very flavorful and actually taste really great with paella! 3.75/5 Basque cheesecake - very heavy and dense. Jam is not too sweet which is nice 1.5/5 Churros - very airy and light inside! The fried part is more than double the inside though so wish that was a little less thick so it can be a little less oily but still overall light. Came very warm and the dipping sauces were very liquidy. Chocolate is on the darker side which is a nice match 3/5
