This is an...ODD spot to say the least. The décor feels less like a restaurant and more like an undecorated Holiday Inn banquet hall. The chunky menu is puzzling. It's hard to tell whether it's aiming for Southern, British (fish and chips), or generic American comfort food. There was even a vegan lasagna dish on the menu. Where did that come from? The identity never really comes together. The wines are brandless, and while I understand how difficult it is for independent restaurants to maintain a broad menu, it showed in the execution. A few dishes tasted as though they'd spent too long under a heat lamp or at the bottom of a holding pot. I heard a nearby diner complain that the lobster pie dish, which seemed like a good has-to-be-freshly-made option, was overly salty. Nothing I had was inedible, but the food had a mid-quality Sysco-truck feel and was surprisingly lacking in flavor. Makes you wonder if this is the owners' first stab at the restaurant business. I went to Southhouse Garden not to long ago and they mentioned to me they'd be opening up a restaurant called Fork & Kitchen (F&K). I love south house so I had to give F&K a shot. I booked reservations on a Sunday at 12. Parking wasn't fun. There is a small parking lot near Trader Joe's. You have to pay everyday. F&K is the inner part of the plaza with a horrible white sign and black lettering that is somewhat high. I almost walked by it twice. We walked in and the inside is pretty large. The uncomfortable air smacked us in the face though. It appears as the the AC was not working as there were about 3 floor AC units throughout the restaurant trying to keep inside cool. We were quickly seated for our reservation. Our waitress was nice. She covered the menu and recommended some favorites. I got the Southern Breakfast with an order of F&K pancakes. My wife got the French toast with peaches and mixed berries. About 25 minutes go by and our order finally arrived. The southern breakfast was a good bang for your buck. Real eggs, thick bacon, somewhat seasoned potatoes and toast. A hearty breakfast for sure. The pancakes are HUGE!!! They come to the table in syrup but that's not enough. These are extremely dense pancakes. The syrup does not reach the inside and can becoming overwhelming at times. One would have been enough as it's the size of 2/3 regular pancakes. My wife enjoyed her thick and fluffy French toast. The berries were fresh. Overall it was a cool experience. I wasn't blown away like I thought I would be. The food was reasonably priced. I recently went back, and I have to say there has been a noticeable improvement since my last visit. The service was great, and the food was even better than I remembered. The highlight of the meal was definitely the seafood grits, they were absolutely delicious and full of flavor. The breakfast tacos were also very good, along with the burger, wings, crème brûlée French toast, and peaches. The crème brûlée French toast continues to be a standout item, and the mac and cheese was spot on this time. I really enjoyed it and could tell there was a significant improvement from my previous visit. What impressed me most, however, was the customer service. Our party was running very late due to a severe traffic accident that caused major delays on our commute. We called ahead to let the restaurant know, and they were incredibly accommodating. Even though we arrived close to the end of brunch service, they encouraged us to still come and made us feel welcomed when we arrived. At no point did we feel rushed, and the staff went out of their way to make sure we had a great experience. That level of understanding and hospitality really stood out to me. It made us feel valued as guests and added to what was already a great dining experience. There's also metered street parking. I've visited twice so far. First was for happy hour about a month ago. They have some good appetizers. I liked the lamb meatballs. The sangria was good. The second time was recently for brunch . I think brunch is more popular. It's the pancakes! I wish they had more variety in the items. We split a half mimosa tower and it was enough for our party of four. Definitely worth it. The full tower is alot (you will need rideshare). Friendly staff but service could really use some improvement (i.e. being more attentive, checking in with the party after food is brought out). We had items that were never put in. Two of us ordered the Southern breakfast platter, the toast never came out. The potatoes were mostly hard and inedible. I came here for Mother's Day brunch and it went better than I expected it would! I heard it was super busy and service wasn't the greatest and while I agree my with that, I'd come back. My RSVP was at 12:45 and I was seated at about 1:05 and wasn't seen until about 1:20. I ordered the half mimosa tower for me and my boyfriend bc it would costed about the same to get bottomless for both of us, it was super hard to finish but we did! Food wise, some standouts were the chicken sausage which had a jerk seasoning undertone to it and the steak which also had the same undertone. We sent the grits back because the menu described it as creamy but it was the complete opposite. This restaurant opened about three weeks ago. And let me tell you they will be began filling up before we know it! I did not know how crowded it would be so we had a reservation and were seated quickly. We parked in the ramp and walked right over. Our server Johanna was fabulous and she was able to get a highchair in our orders out quickly in order to eat. A were described the inside decor and aesthetic as white chic marble... I actually loved how airy and bright everything was in there. The Florentine omelette came with a side of greens that was lovely. The pancake was giant and fluffy and delightful. I will say that the French toast took the prize for being well decadent and well presented! It was very fun and my little one enjoyed everything as well. One thing I wish they had mentioned was the mixed fruit came with honey drizzled on top. I know we always get fruit for the baby, and she is now officially over one and able to eat, honey... I was so excited for a new brunch spot to open up at Town Square. Unfortunately Fork & Kitchen is a business I will not be returning to. Perhaps I visited too early in their opening process, and I hope some issues have been resolved since I last visited in March 2026. When my friend and I entered the restaurant I did like the decor. Unfortunately it still smelled like fresh paint which was off putting to me. I feel like they should have waited to open until the paint dried more, or had some air fresheners in place. We ordered coffee and I was disappointed there was no dairy free milk option. They also could only make drip coffee since their espresso machine was not working yet. They are almost next door to Trader Joe's. It is confusing to me they were unable to acquire dairy free milk, and also not interested in having that on the menu as there is a growing demand for dairy free options. Our server was not very attentive or helpful. She gave no advice or recommendations for a vegan meal option I could order. My friend and I did not get good vibes from our experience and decided to leave after just the black coffees. It took an unusually long amount of time to get the check, and we felt relieved when we could cash out and smell fresh air outside again. I do hope this business improves and that these are just some growing pains from recently opening. I recommend that they modify the menu to offer dairy free milk and have a vegan option for brunch. A friend and I shared the burger, short ribs, branzino, and chicken Caesar wrap. The short ribs were AMAZING and the chicken Caesar wrap but also very good. Burger & branzino were fine. The crème brûlée cheesecake we got for dessert, pretty good but didn't love the chocolate sauce. We tried this relatively new place in the Rockville town center on a Friday night. They took over the place that previously housed Eko African cuisine. We had the Sinful Eggs with the added shrimp on top as an appetizer. They are like devil eggs with a twist - fried and topped with fried shrimps. For entrees, we had the Soy Garlic Noodles topped with some lump crab meat and a Butcher cut Pork Chop on a bed of salad greens. The pork chop was beautifully done - tender, moist and flavorful. Menu is a bit eclectic with some southern influence. Food did come out slow although the place was not filled. Service is adequate. Decor is minimalist with a huge bar in the middle. The short ribs were drier than a grandma's hoochie, and based on the acrid flavor I can only assume it's because someone threw accelerant on it to cover up a crime. In a remarkable turn of events, the meat was not even the worst part of this dish. If you grew up in the 80s, you probably had mashed potatoes made from flakes out of a box. If you went to this restaurant, you probably had mashed potatoes made from flakes of someone's dandruff, because there was no flavor. The branzino had more bones in it than a hooker who's been on the streets for 50 years. The asparagus spears were long and thick, but any woman will tell you that's not enough. They were seasoned well, but temperature-wise they were colder than my heart after Grey's Anatomy killed off so many characters I knew I could never love again. The guy next to us had the "sinful deviled eggs," and didn't have anything positive to say about them. He ordered the burger for his entree and said it was good, but mentioned the fries tasted like they were frozen...and left that way. I'm hesitant to write this place off entirely since they're new and still gathering their bearings, but if you're operating on a limited menu, you better be damn sure you execute those menu items well. read more

It gave the bare minimum, as far a look, while trying bring in income. Reception: No host or stand upon entry, felt lost until walked further in by the bar and the bartender inquired if I was picking up or dining in. He was probably the best part of the dining experience despite me not sitting at the bar. I chose to sit at the back with full view of the restaurant; however, the kitchen staff were so loud, you could hear their conversations over the audio/music, which also seems to be connected to some kind of streaming platform with commercials. Note: I came at 3 pm on Sunday and there were only 3 or 4 other patrons. Staff/ Customer Service: Employees were just wandering around, chatting at bar, busser looked very young and sat at one of the patron tables, the second time in his phone. While the waitress was nice, she was unfamiliar with menu and she, along with the owners, overall seemed inexperienced. I inquired about still water, she didn't know what it was and they didn't have any. The owners and manager were there, and I thought it would be a nice touch to check in with tables to get a sense of how things were going as a new restaurant, especially given how few patrons were actually in the establishment at the time. Food: I ordered the Sinful Eggs, 1 single Fork'n Pancakes, the Southern Breakfast, and the Mocha Martini. Everything came out at the same time when the sinful eggs (appetizer) should've come first followed by the main brunch items. By the time I got to the scrambled eggs, they were cold. The eggs gave a cross between scotch eggs and deviled eggs. They were actually decent, but could be a lot for one person given the fried nature of the dish - better for sharing. The pancake had an odd taste, almost like it wasn't cooked all the way, but it was. The southern breakfast was ok, but noticed there was no salt or pepper on any of the tables. I could've asked, but didn't bother to as ijust thought it was odd not to be readily available, again everything was bare bones. The Martini was strong but decent. Timing: 5 min - from being sat to approached for ordering 5-6 min - to get all the food ordered above 6 min - checked on after receiving food Miscellaneous: There was an area that was a bit elevated from the others, seemingly for a big group, but still open to everything. It just didn't make sense anesthetic or functionality-wise. If anything, I'd recommend the owners extending the grass wall all the way around this area except for the steps. We made a reservation for Saturday at 4:00 PM for dinner and arrived a bit early, around 3:40 PM. We were seated right away, which was great. However, we were given the brunch menu and told that brunch would end at 4:00 PM--in about 20 minutes. We explained that we had a 4:00 PM dinner reservation and wanted to order from the dinner menu, but were then informed that although brunch ends at 4:00 PM, the dinner menu doesn't begin until 5:00 PM. This effectively means they allow 4:00 PM reservations while the kitchen is in a transition period, leaving guests unable to order dinner for an entire hour. We decided to stay and ordered drinks while waiting. Around 4:45 PM, we asked if we could place our dinner order early so it could be prepared as soon as possible, and the server agreed. Unfortunately, our food didn't arrive until about 5:45 PM. The long wait might have been more tolerable if the food met expectations, but it was disappointing. The garlic bread appetizer came out after our entrees, and while it was eventually comped, it didn't improve the experience. The pasta with salmon was overcooked, overly salty, and lacked flavor. The fried Cornish hen was dry and had very little meat, and the mac and cheese was underwhelming. Overall, this was a frustrating experience, especially given the confusion around menu availability and the extended wait time for subpar food. One positive note: our server was very pleasant and courteous throughout the experience. Also, the minimalist decor of the place was nice and clean bathroom. First, the drinks deserve their own moment. The Moco Drop (svedka, gran gala, lemon juice, simple syrup) and the Lychee & Grapefruit Spritz were both well-balanced and noticeably strong -- which I personally loved. These aren't watered-down pours; you're definitely getting a proper cocktail. Food highlights: The Branzino - beautifully pan-seared Mediterranean sea bass with lemon caper sauce and roasted asparagus. Light, flaky, and one of the most balanced dishes of the night. Butcher Cut Pork Chop - thick, bone-in, brined and fire-grilled, finished with rosemary garlic butter. Juicy, flavorful, and satisfying. Soy Garlic Noodles with Shrimp - savory, garlicky, and comforting. The shrimp were seasoned with Cajun seasoning, which added a subtle smoky heat that elevated the entire dish without overpowering it. I actually really enjoyed the Sinful Eggs -- especially the sweet relish inside, which added a nice contrast and brightness to the richness. The flavor combination worked well, and I can see why it's a popular starter. That said, one thing I didn't fully understand was why several items leaned heavily fried. The Sinful Eggs, Lamb Meatballs, and even the Crabcakes all had a fried element to them. While crispy textures can be delicious, it felt a bit repetitive across multiple dishes. I would've loved to see more variation in preparation styles to create better balance throughout the meal. I am all for supporting my people, but if you are going to step into the food industry, you have to be prepared so when opportunities present themselves, you don't have to get ready. The Brussels sprouts were entirely too sweet, and I had to send them back. The Sinful Deviled Eggs were torched. The Lobster Pot Pie had good flavor, but it also came out burnt. The parmesan bread was overloaded with cheese. My son ordered fries, which he said were just okay, along with plain wings that were undercooked. His mac and cheese came out cold. He usually eats a lot, but he actually lost his appetite at the table. I still tipped our waiter very well because none of this was her fault. Unfortunately, this was not a good Mother's Day pick for us, and it was very disappointing. We will not be returning. We came to Fork and Kitchen tonight really wanting to like it. The menu looked great and the reviews were encouraging, but the experience just didn't match what we expected. We were seated right away, which was nice, especially with a private event going on. After that, nothing happened. No water, no greeting, no server. We watched two tables that arrived after us get water and place their orders while we sat there waiting. We eventually had to ask another server just to get water and to let someone know we hadn't been helped. When our order was finally taken, the wait continued. Drinks and food took about 30 to 40 minutes to show up, and one drink -- the mango margarita -- was extremely sweet. The table behind us never had their order taken at all, which made it clear the service issues weren't just a one‑off. Fork and Kitchen seems like it could be a great spot based on the menu and reviews, but both the front and back of house need serious attention. After tonight, we won't be returning. read more

Take a walk with me in your mind as you read this review: My wife discovered this place on TikTok and we were looking for a new brunch spot to try. We made reservations for this place and we were surprised to learn during our visit from our nice server Venicia that they are in the soft-open phase of things; they've only been open since Valentine's Day week and this was their third week open. Now I can get to the other parts of the review! The location: This place is in Rockville Square near Trader Joe's. Parking here is tricky, you MIGHT want to arrive earlier than you think to get a good spot or chance it using Trader Joe's parking (Shhh) The Atmosphere: The vibe here is chic/modern/artsy. It's giving museum meets warehouse with good lighting and open floor plan. I thought for a second I stepped into an upscale ghost kitchen. They are working on the aesthetics of the place. They have circular lighting and plants covering portions of the space. They also have a wall that has different sizes and shapes of vases with lighting on each one. This is where the museum Vibe comes in. They have marble styled tables. They are planning to add more things for the Grand Opening and I can almost assure you it will be a quite popular place once word gets around! Most people don't even know about this place yet :) this is your queue to go ASAP. The Service: Our server Venicia was very nice and helpful. She was prompt, friendly and what we appreciated most; honest! I had asked her opinion on a few items I was considering and she told me the truth. Thank you for that :) The Food: We started off with drinks. My wife got ginger ale and I got cranberry juice while we looked at the menu. We decided on their pancakes; they were crunch on the outside like that of cornbread and fluffy on the inside like a pancake but dense and came topped with what appeared to be a cinnamon butter and bourbon flavored syrup! (Yum) I decided on their creme brulee French toast which came on to nicely sized pieces of bread with Creme Brulee filling in the middle and fruit. It was also plated beautifully with cream drizzle. My wife and I also got a few sides. She got some of the fluffiest eggs I've tasted in a long time with cheese and some well-seasoned potatoes. I opted for bacon and we shared the Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese was good but could use a bit of salt and pepper but that's an easy fix. That was the only thing that we felt could use some improvement but otherwise 4.5 outta 5 stars - SupaFlyITGuy approved! I got catfished by their AI generated images of various dishes they make. OMG this is filter accidentally turned off med stream bad! Here's a deal. I went there for dinner tonight entered and there's no check-in desk, just open concrete floors, white chairs, white tables, white walls. There were probably two other people inside this place beside the staff. Music is loud R&B. Forget about having conversations. Honestly the music ruined a lot what this restaurant could have been. But here's the real problem, the food quality is poor. Steak is hard poor quality probably not USDA graded. The fish, dry, thin, looked nothing like a sea bass. Sadly, I was looking forward to a newer breakfast/brunch/dinner type place in the town center. The owner needs to sell this place to a well seasoned restaurateur who knows decor, placements, and food. read more

What a great place to go to on a Wednesday night. The restaurant itself is lovely and modern. The Happy Hour specials cut the cost of the wine, beer and appetizers in half. The lamb meatballs and deviled eggs were excellent. And it's delicious. We enjoyed having Rachel our server - she was great! - and think that more people should take advantage of this restaurant in Rockville. read more

The food here wa sreally good. It's all comfort food dishes. I had the braised short ribs, which were juicy and delicious. We also shared the parmesean bread, which was more like mozzarella sticks but way better. The red sangria was good as well. The front of the house staff seemed a little inexperienced, but I'll let that slide because its still a new retaurant. read more

This was the most amazing experience that I've had. it all started with greetings at the door. The hostess was kind and welcoming and there wasn't a wait time at all. The aesthetic of the restaurant is very modern and clean. They play good music in the background so it's perfect if you're having a birthday party or just want to catch up with some friends. The music is not too loud so you can definitely hear yourself speak. The food is 10/10! The sinful eggs are mouth watering, the French toast is fluffy and good. They have the best Mac and cheese I've ever had! oh and the endless mimosas This is a place I will Continue coming to. Give it a try you'll love it. read more

I met up at four in kitchen with a friend. We ordered off the lunch menu. I had a fish sandwich, which was surprisingly good. The cod tasted moist, it wasn't fishy. The fries were great. Apparently this used to be an old paint store that got converted into a restaurant. It's modern industrial design, which these days feels warm and welcoming. The service was even better than the food. The waitress was very attentive, and stopped by frequently to refresh our soft drinks and water. I wish I remembered her name. I will return. read more

I went for my birthday brunch with my s/o and had a GREAT time! We were greeted immediately when we walked in and seated without a reservation (on a late Saturday). The appetizers and main dishes were absolutely delicious, my partner and I shared both of our meals and could not get it enough -- we left full and happy. The steak was grilled perfectly, french toast fluffy and decadent, and the deviled eggs were phenomenal. The ambience was very calm, clean, and reminded me of a nice DC brunch spot. I plan to come here with my friends for brunch soon -- their drinks menu was great as well, and the mimosa tower VERY impressive. Very kind staff too, 10/10! read more
