I really wanted to try this restaurant because I saw it on instagram but was highly disappointed by the staff. When I got there I realized brunch was over at 4pm so my party figured we would stay for dinner. We were told that it is 4pm and dinner starts at 5pm. Well the hours listed on the website says, dinner: Sundays 4pm-9pm (see the pic posted here). Also the restaurant was filled with people so that was quite odd. Were they just serving drinks at this time? Who knows because the staff said nothing else after saying that dinner starts at 5pm. That was our cue to not spend our money there and to never return. We ended up going to a nice elegant tapas restaurant at the end of the street (El Mercat Bar de Tapas) which was worth the money and had a nice ambience. I would never recommend Fork and Kitchen to anyone. Don't go there. Staff are not friendly and also please read the other reviews. I met up with friends for brunch at Fork & Kitchen in Rockville and got a good mix of the menu to try. We started with the Fork'd Wings in Garlic Parm, Blueberry Swirl Biscuits, and the Sinful Eggs Sampler, which came with bacon, shrimp, lobster, and a crab ball. The sampler was a fun way to try several different flavors, and the blueberry biscuits were a nice sweet addition to the table. For my entrée, I ordered the Seafood Grits, loaded with shrimp, crab, bacon, peppers, and creamy grits. It was a generous portion and definitely filling. Overall, the food was good and everything looked great coming out of the kitchen, but nothing really stood out enough that I'd make a special trip back. Service was also a little spotty. Our server was friendly and took our orders without any issues, but some of the smaller requests, like drinks, refills, and extra utensils, took longer than expected. Saw Fork & kitchen all over social media and wanted to give it a try. We were told that they were not able to sit walk ins at tables when we arrived so we sat at the bar. The service was good! They were attentive, answered our questions, and even anticipated our needs at certain points. We ordered pancakes and the seafood grits. The pancakes surprised us. I went to Southhouse Garden not to long ago and they mentioned to me they'd be opening up a restaurant called Fork & Kitchen (F&K). I love south house so I had to give F&K a shot. I booked reservations on a Sunday at 12. Parking wasn't fun. There is a small parking lot near Trader Joe's. You have to pay everyday. F&K is the inner part of the plaza with a horrible white sign and black lettering that is somewhat high. I almost walked by it twice. We walked in and the inside is pretty large. The uncomfortable air smacked us in the face though. It appears as the the AC was not working as there were about 3 floor AC units throughout the restaurant trying to keep inside cool. We were quickly seated for our reservation. Our waitress was nice. She covered the menu and recommended some favorites. I got the Southern Breakfast with an order of F&K pancakes. My wife got the French toast with peaches and mixed berries. About 25 minutes go by and our order finally arrived. The southern breakfast was a good bang for your buck. Real eggs, thick bacon, somewhat seasoned potatoes and toast. A hearty breakfast for sure. The pancakes are HUGE!!! They come to the table in syrup but that's not enough. These are extremely dense pancakes. The syrup does not reach the inside and can becoming overwhelming at times. One would have been enough as it's the size of 2/3 regular pancakes. My wife enjoyed her thick and fluffy French toast. The berries were fresh. Overall it was a cool experience. I wasn't blown away like I thought I would be. The food was reasonably priced. Nothing bad. If I lived in the area I'd probably return. I'm curious to their dinner selection. I may return one day if I'm in the area and the AC is fixed. read more

I recently went back, and I have to say there has been a noticeable improvement since my last visit. The service was great, and the food was even better than I remembered. The highlight of the meal was definitely the seafood grits, they were absolutely delicious and full of flavor. The breakfast tacos were also very good, along with the burger, wings, crème brûlée French toast, and peaches. The crème brûlée French toast continues to be a standout item, and the mac and cheese was spot on this time. I really enjoyed it and could tell there was a significant improvement from my previous visit. What impressed me most, however, was the customer service. Our party was running very late due to a severe traffic accident that caused major delays on our commute. We called ahead to let the restaurant know, and they were incredibly accommodating. Even though we arrived close to the end of brunch service, they encouraged us to still come and made us feel welcomed when we arrived. At no point did we feel rushed, and the staff went out of their way to make sure we had a great experience. That level of understanding and hospitality really stood out to me. It made us feel valued as guests and added to what was already a great dining experience. I wanted to support this relatively new establishment, and unfortunately, what began as a pleasant experience ended with a billing issue serious enough that I will not return. First, I want to give credit where it is due. Our server, Johans, was gracious, pleasant and helpful in explaining the menu. My issue is not with her demeanor or hospitality. I ordered a $12 cocktail and the Sinful Eggs Sampler. According to the itemized receipt I eventually received, my subtotal was $36, with $2.16 in tax. When it was time to pay, Johans brought the handheld device to the table and I tapped my card. It was only AFTER I tapped that I saw that the total payment was $50.56. Because that amount made no sense based on what I had ordered, I immediately asked for an itemized receipt. Johans said she would get one for me, but she never returned to our table. I eventually had to flag down another staff member to obtain the receipt. That is when I discovered an "Auto Gratuity 20%" charge of $12.40. There are two major problems with this. First, $12.40 is NOT 20% of a $36 bill. It is approximately 34.4%. Even 20% of the $36 subtotal plus the $2.16 tax would only be $7.63. I would very much like to know what amount was used to calculate a supposed 20% gratuity of $12.40. Second, I do not recall seeing any conspicuous disclosure that a mandatory 20% gratuity would automatically be added to our checks, nor did our server mention it. I specifically raised both concerns with John, who had previously introduced himself to our table as the proprietor. His response was essentially that the gratuity "should be" disclosed on the menu. I asked him to provide the menu and show me where that disclosure appeared. He did not. Nor could he explain why a charge identified on my receipt as 20% was actually $12.40 on a $36 subtotal. Instead, I received repeated apologies, but no explanation and no resolution. That was particularly disappointing because I had already overlooked some significant service-timing issues. We were a party of three, and our appetizers, entrées and drinks arrived at noticeably different times. The pacing was disorganized enough to be frustrating, but we were enjoying one another's company, so I was prepared to let that go. The billing issue is different. If a restaurant is going to impose an automatic gratuity, patrons should be clearly informed BEFORE payment. And if the receipt identifies that gratuity as 20%, the amount charged should actually equal 20% of the applicable amount. A customer should not have to discover an unexplained charge only after tapping a credit card, chase down an itemized receipt, and then be unable to get an explanation from the proprietor. I deliberately chose to patronize this establishment and wanted to see it succeed. That makes this experience even more disappointing. I have retained my itemized receipt showing the $36 subtotal, $2.16 tax and $12.40 "Auto Gratuity 20%" charge and am prepared to provide it. For me, this is ultimately about transparency and trust. Once I questioned the charge, management had an opportunity to explain it or correct it. Neither happened. There's also metered street parking. I've visited twice so far. First was for happy hour about a month ago. They have some good appetizers. I liked the lamb meatballs. The sangria was good. The second time was recently for brunch . I think brunch is more popular. It's the pancakes! I wish they had more variety in the items. We split a half mimosa tower and it was enough for our party of four. Definitely worth it. The full tower is alot (you will need rideshare). Friendly staff but service could really use some improvement (i.e. being more attentive, checking in with the party after food is brought out). We had items that were never put in. Two of us ordered the Southern breakfast platter, the toast never came out. The potatoes were mostly hard and inedible. I did let our server know and she was kind enough to offer a fresh batch (it was better). Someone ordered coffee and they never got it. It was nice and bright and opening with the white decor along with the different sections to choose from depending on where you want to sit and what type of atmosphere you're looking for. It wasn't too crowded during brunch time. The food was delicious I ordered the chicken and pancake. The chicken was a quarter piece of chicken on top of a beautiful round pancake that was thick so I didn't require two pancakes. It was made two into one pancake and it was very tasty. My RSVP was at 12:45 and I was seated at about 1:05 and wasn't seen until about 1:20. I ordered the half mimosa tower for me and my boyfriend bc it would costed about the same to get bottomless for both of us, it was super hard to finish but we did! Food wise, some standouts were the chicken sausage which had a jerk seasoning undertone to it and the steak which also had the same undertone. We sent the grits back because the menu described it as creamy but it was the complete opposite. I really wanted to like this restaurant, but my experience went from frustrating to genuinely concerning. I ordered a catfish sandwich and specifically requested no toppings, just tartar sauce. The first sandwich came out with pickles, coleslaw, tartar sauce and another sauce. Because it wasn't what I ordered, I sent it back. A replacement sandwich came out extremely quickly. By that point my friends and I were getting ready to leave, so I took it home rather than eating it at the restaurant. When I got home and bit into the replacement sandwich, I discovered that the fish in the center appeared to be raw/seriously undercooked. I took a photograph, which I am including with this review. Had I eaten it at the restaurant, I would have immediately sent it back again. Unfortunately, the billing experience was also troubling. When I paid using the handheld device, I added a $15 tip for our waitress. At that point, I did not realize that an automatic 20% gratuity had already been added to my bill. I only discovered the automatic gratuity later, after we repeatedly asked for our itemized receipts. Our waitress initially said she would return with the receipts, but she never did. When we eventually asked another employee to find her, we were told that she had already left for the day. That employee ultimately retrieved our individual paper receipts for us. That is when I discovered that an automatic gratuity had already been included in my bill, despite the additional $15 tip I had voluntarily added when paying. I understand that restaurants may have gratuity policies. My issue is transparency. A customer should know that a mandatory gratuity has already been added before being presented with an opportunity to add another tip. But the billing issue pales in comparison to receiving a replacement fish sandwich that appeared raw in the middle. The first sandwich was prepared incorrectly, I sent it back, and the replacement was something I could not safely finish once I saw the inside. I have the photograph of the sandwich and my receipt. Unfortunately, I've also experienced significant gastrointestinal symptoms since eating there. I cannot say what caused those symptoms, but given what I discovered inside the sandwich afterward, the experience is extremely concerning. This restaurant opened about three weeks ago. And let me tell you they will be began filling up before we know it! I did not know how crowded it would be so we had a reservation and were seated quickly. We parked in the ramp and walked right over. Our server Johanna was fabulous and she was able to get a highchair in our orders out quickly in order to eat. A were described the inside decor and aesthetic as white chic marble... I actually loved how airy and bright everything was in there. The Florentine omelette came with a side of greens that was lovely. The pancake was giant and fluffy and delightful. I will say that the French toast took the prize for being well decadent and well presented! It was very fun and my little one enjoyed everything as well. One thing I wish they had mentioned was the mixed fruit came with honey drizzled on top. I know we always get fruit for the baby, and she is now officially over one and able to eat, honey... Where do I start...met a group ladies for dinner on a Saturday night. I'm not familiar with Rockville Town Square so looked up parking and settled on garage C which is across from the Trader Joe's. The walk from my car to the restaurant was a couple of minutes. Decor & Vibes: The restaurant is very spacious, but sparsely decorated. It's white and stark, but truly a great space and somewhat of a blank canvas. If you're a fan of 90s R&B then this is the place for you. The music was not too loud but loud enough where you could catch a vibe if you wanted to. Service: 2/10 Upon arrival, there was no hostess in sight so thank goodness a friend waved me down. Service was practically non-existent. We were there from about 7-10:30pm, and while I do appreciate being able to take our time, we basically had no choice because service was SLOW. Mind you, there were maybe 4-5 other tables throughout the night. Our water glasses were smudged, one with lipstick, and we had to waited about 15 minutes for someone to come by to address that. Twice a server walked by looking confused carrying a dish that was not ours. Appetizers took ~30 minutes (we only ordered 3), one drink was sent back and my friend had to walk it over to the bar herself because no server was around. It took another hour to order our mains. Maybe they were giving us time to chat, but we had very minimal to no check-ins from staff. Tip: Pace yourself on your drinks or order AFTER you place your meal order. Food: 6/10 For drinks we had the margarita half tower (10/10 - mixed well; enough for 4-5 of us to have 2+ glasses). For appetizers we tried the sinful eggs topped with crab balls (8/10 - tasty), parmesan bread (4/10 - basic) and lamb meatballs (7/10 - quite good). For my main, I had the catfish sandwich with parm fries. The fish, while perfectly fried and a huge portion, was under-seasoned. Other ladies at the table tried the miso chicken Caesar wrap (low on miso flavor), wings (thumbs up), pasta (nothing to write home about). Nobody asked but I'm offering: A mural on the walls and a pop of color plus some booths would do wonders for the space. Since the restaurant is large and open, live music during brunch or a small dance floor on weekends after say 9pm would take this to the next level. This is an...ODD spot to say the least. The decor feels less like a restaurant and more like an undecorated Holiday Inn banquet hall. The chunky menu is puzzling. It's hard to tell whether it's aiming for Southern, British (fish and chips), or generic American comfort food. There was even a vegan lasagna dish on the menu. Where did that come from? The identity never really comes together. The wines are brandless, and while I understand how difficult it is for independent restaurants to maintain a broad menu, it showed in the execution. A few dishes tasted as though they'd spent too long under a heat lamp or at the bottom of a holding pot. I heard a nearby diner complain that the lobster pie dish, which seemed like a good has-to-be-freshly-made option, was overly salty. Nothing I had was inedible, but the food had a mid-quality Sysco-truck feel and was surprisingly lacking in flavor. Makes you wonder if this is the owners' first stab at the restaurant business. I was so excited for a new brunch spot to open up at Town Square. Unfortunately Fork & Kitchen is a business I will not be returning to. Perhaps I visited too early in their opening process, and I hope some issues have been resolved since I last visited in March 2026. When my friend and I entered the restaurant I did like the decor. Unfortunately it still smelled like fresh paint which was off putting to me. I feel like they should have waited to open until the paint dried more, or had some air fresheners in place. We ordered coffee and I was disappointed there was no dairy free milk option. They also could only make drip coffee since their espresso machine was not working yet. They are almost next door to Trader Joe's. It is confusing to me they were unable to acquire dairy free milk, and also not interested in having that on the menu as there is a growing demand for dairy free options. Our server was not very attentive or helpful. She gave no advice or recommendations for a vegan meal option I could order. My friend and I did not get good vibes from our experience and decided to leave after just the black coffees. It took an unusually long amount of time to get the check, and we felt relieved when we could cash out and smell fresh air outside again. I do hope this business improves and that these are just some growing pains from recently opening. I recommend that they modify the menu to offer dairy free milk and have a vegan option for brunch. The TL;DR, we won't be back. I hate giving bad reviews and if a place is just ok, I won't bother reviewing it as taste is subjective and people have different preferences. The good: Our server was quick and attentive, and all encounters with staff were pleasant ones. Space between tables really give patrons some elbow space. Portions were pretty good for the price listed on the menu. Not good: As we walked in and took in the spacious interior. My first thought was that some spaces just exude a high-end aesthetic, and some strive. This place is the latter. I see what they were trying for, and I liked some of it, like the wall of vases. But the artificial vines, portable speakers on the floors, and the improperly installed light fixtures just read broke. We ordered the Butcher's Smash burger, and the Vodka Dumplings. The burger was supposed to come with bacon and it was missing. I thought it was pretty good. My spouse thought it was ok. She really liked their fries, and I didn't as there was a sweet note I did not like in the seasoning. The menu does not state what the dumplings are filled with so I presumed based on the rest of the menu description that they were filled with ground Italian sausage (and maybe cheese) in a creamy vodka sauce with ricotta and parm cheeses on top. That's not at all what it is. The dumplings are Asian style pork dumplings like the ones you would buy frozen from a grocery store (like the Trader Joe's around the corner). The sauce was not a vodka sauce, but just a standard tomato sauce, the ricotta on top was missing, but there was a lot of ground sausage in the sauce at least. In my opinion, the Asian dumplings don't work with the tomato sauce. The tomato sauce was pretty good, but it wasn't a vodka sauce like the menu states. The whole experience was lacking, just like the missing ingredients in both meals. Lastly, both meals were labeled on the menu as $19. I drank water and my spouse drank a $3 Diet Coke, yet the bill before tip was over $50 which seems high as $19+$19+$3 is only $41 so 6% MoCo restaurant tax is under $2.50. We should have questioned it, but we were just ready to go. I had been seeing mixed reviews about this new spot and decided to go check it out for myself. The decor is interesting (white, minimalist, felt like a Restoration Hardware,) but I liked it. A friend and I shared the burger, short ribs, branzino, and chicken Caesar wrap. The short ribs were AMAZING and the chicken Caesar wrap but also very good. Burger & branzino were fine. We tried this relatively new place in the Rockville town center on a Friday night. They took over the place that previously housed Eko African cuisine. We had the Sinful Eggs with the added shrimp on top as an appetizer. They are like devil eggs with a twist - fried and topped with fried shrimps. For entrees, we had the Soy Garlic Noodles topped with some lump crab meat and a Butcher cut Pork Chop on a bed of salad greens. The pork chop was beautifully done - tender, moist and flavorful. Menu is a bit eclectic with some southern influence. Food did come out slow although the place was not filled. Service is adequate. Decor is minimalist with a huge bar in the middle. I almost think the space is too big for this restaurant. read more

This is a new place and they just opened two weeks ago. So far I'm impressed! I saw them in a Instagram review for the Harbor Pie (pot pie with lobster) and came for happy hour. Melissa was the bartender and each of the three drinks I tried were fantastic. Right now for happy hour 50% off apps and drinks. We literally took our actual meal to go because we were so full from apps. I will be back!! read more

Underwhelmed and unimpressed. Definitely room for improvement. Appearance: All-white, minimalist interior which was fine if there was something concrete to add to the ambience, e.g., music (it seemed all over the place). It gave the bare minimum, as far a look, while trying bring in income. Reception: No host or stand upon entry, felt lost until walked further in by the bar and the bartender inquired if I was picking up or dining in. He was probably the best part of the dining experience despite me not sitting at the bar. I chose to sit at the back with full view of the restaurant; however, the kitchen staff were so loud, you could hear their conversations over the audio/music, which also seems to be connected to some kind of streaming platform with commercials. Note: I came at 3 pm on Sunday and there were only 3 or 4 other patrons. Staff/ Customer Service: Employees were just wandering around, chatting at bar, busser looked very young and sat at one of the patron tables, the second time in his phone. While the waitress was nice, she was unfamiliar with menu and she, along with the owners, overall seemed inexperienced. I inquired about still water, she didn't know what it was and they didn't have any. The owners and manager were there, and I thought it would be a nice touch to check in with tables to get a sense of how things were going as a new restaurant, especially given how few patrons were actually in the establishment at the time. Food: I ordered the Sinful Eggs, 1 single Fork'n Pancakes, the Southern Breakfast, and the Mocha Martini. Everything came out at the same time when the sinful eggs (appetizer) should've come first followed by the main brunch items. By the time I got to the scrambled eggs, they were cold. The eggs gave a cross between scotch eggs and deviled eggs. They were actually decent, but could be a lot for one person given the fried nature of the dish - better for sharing. The pancake had an odd taste, almost like it wasn't cooked all the way, but it was. The southern breakfast was ok, but noticed there was no salt or pepper on any of the tables. I could've asked, but didn't bother to as ijust thought it was odd not to be readily available, again everything was bare bones. The Martini was strong but decent. Timing: 5 min - from being sat to approached for ordering 5-6 min - to get all the food ordered above 6 min - checked on after receiving food Miscellaneous: There was an area that was a bit elevated from the others, seemingly for a big group, but still open to everything. It just didn't make sense anesthetic or functionality-wise. If anything, I'd recommend the owners extending the grass wall all the way around this area except for the steps. I may give it another try during their happy hour, but certainly not for brunch unless improved. read more

I went for brunch with friends and it was my first time visiting. The service, ambiance, and food was really nice. Our waiter, Jackie was amazing and helped us with deciding what we needed to try as it was our first time. I loved that they give us the option to serve our mimosas by bringing our own mini table with all the ingredients haha. I tried the chicken and fork'n pancake first. Then I tried the frittata with lobster. I think both tasted really good and the portion sizes did not disappoint. I was surprised to know that the owners of fork n kitchen are the same owners of south house in Gaithersburg. All I can say is south house needs to take some pointers from fork n kitchen regarding the food because the last time I went to south house, the food was a disappointment and I have not been back there. The only reason why I didn't give this place 5 stars is because of the seating. We were a party of 7 and we were a little tight at the table that was assigned to us and there were no places to hang our purses. Regardless, I will definitely be coming back to fork & kitchen! read more

The service was great - Zalia was super attentive, friendly, and just overall awesome. We started with the garlic parm bomb, and it was delicious. (Please see photo for the cheese pull). The dough was a tad over-kneaded and tough, but the cheese and flavor on the outside almost made up for it. Moving on to the main course... Probably just don't order one. The short ribs were drier than a grandma's hoochie, and based on the acrid flavor I can only assume it's because someone threw accelerant on it to cover up a crime. In a remarkable turn of events, the meat was not even the worst part of this dish. If you grew up in the 80s, you probably had mashed potatoes made from flakes out of a box. If you went to this restaurant, you probably had mashed potatoes made from flakes of someone's dandruff, because there was no flavor. The branzino had more bones in it than a hooker who's been on the streets for 50 years. The asparagus spears were long and thick, but any woman will tell you that's not enough. They were seasoned well, but temperature-wise they were colder than my heart after Grey's Anatomy killed off so many characters I knew I could never love again. The guy next to us had the "sinful deviled eggs," and didn't have anything positive to say about them. He ordered the burger for his entree and said it was good, but mentioned the fries tasted like they were frozen...and left that way. I'm hesitant to write this place off entirely since they're new and still gathering their bearings, but if you're operating on a limited menu, you better be damn sure you execute those menu items well. read more

I went here this past Sunday with my cousins for brunch and the venue is very beautiful very clean very pristine and White the Services lot of space in the restaurant the Service the waitress was very nice very knowledgeable about the food except for a few items that she didn't know there was a big discrepancy on the type of champagne that we could get versus like the Prosecco we opted for the Prosecco because it was of course better option the food was good it overall came back cold came out cold and wasn't that memorable but I would definitely recommend this place to somebody in Rockville because it was affordable and the service was nice overall I enjoyed it but don't know if I would rush there again. read more

I went here with my girlfriend for Saturday brunch. We ordered drinks, the lobster taco, pancakes, deviled eggs, potatoes, and chicken sausage. Where do I start? Lobster tacos were horrible. Barely any lobster meat. Way too much onion. Tortilla was stale and the dish presentation was horrible. Pancakes, burnt outside, Barely fluffy on the inside. Potato's we ordered for the side, cold and under-seasoned. Food also came out at random and not fast at all. If you want slow and under season food not doesn't even come close to worth the value.
