Was very excited to try this new spot! I had the sinful eggs with crab balls, fork'n pancake (single), and lychee and grapefruit spritz. Cannot get over how good the sinful eggs are! Omg I sat at the bar and the service I received from Zalia and Rachel was amazing! They were both very attentive and provided great recommendations based on what I like. The ambiance gives a sleek and modern vibe. There's outdoor seating, allowing you to dine outside on a day when the weather is good. I can't wait to return and try their dinner menu!

This restaurant opened about three weeks ago. And let me tell you they will be began filling up before we know it! I did not know how crowded it would be so we had a reservation and were seated quickly. We parked in the ramp and walked right over. Our server Johanna was fabulous and she was able to get a highchair in our orders out quickly in order to eat. A were described the inside decor and aesthetic as white chic marble... I actually loved how airy and bright everything was in there. The Florentine omelette came with a side of greens that was lovely. The pancake was giant and fluffy and delightful. I will say that the French toast took the prize for being well decadent and well presented! It was very fun and my little one enjoyed everything as well. One thing I wish they had mentioned was the mixed fruit came with honey drizzled on top. I know we always get fruit for the baby, and she is now officially over one and able to eat, honey... But a lot of parents don't do, honey right away. So it would have been good to know ahead of time. However, Hats off to the chef. For making everything delicious for our eyes and mouth!

My brother, girlfriend and I went here for brunch today. We should've left as soon as we walked in. But first there's no hostess and you had to wait to find a waiter. However we were able to sit at our reservation time. Buttttttt the food WAS NOT good! Good thing is we ordered everything at once and the waiter did let us know that the kitchen was very backed up! We ordered the pancakes, side of bacon & eggs, 2 orders of chicken wings, shrimp & grits, shrimp frittata, lemonade, orange juice, steak & eggs. We went for the viral pancakes but those pancakes gave cornbread. They were not fluffy AT ALL! The first order of chicken wings were asked to be well done and they were not. We told the waiter and got another order that were cooked well done. Everything did not come out staggered. The only food that we kept was the 2 order of chicken wings and the steak and eggs. We actually did give them grace because we do know they are still new but DAMMM. Small cup of orange juice for $5. The ambiance was nice as it is big in there and nice lighting / music.

I had been seeing mixed reviews about this new spot and decided to go check it out for myself. The decor is interesting (white, minimalist, felt like a Restoration Hardware,) but I liked it. A friend and I shared the burger, short ribs, branzino, and chicken Caesar wrap. The short ribs were AMAZING and the chicken Caesar wrap but also very good. Burger & branzino were fine. The crème brûlée cheesecake we got for dessert, pretty good but didn't love the chocolate sauce. There is definitely room for improvement: service was slow, food came out at random times, and the spoons that we got for dessert were two different sizes. They are also doing a long soft opening, which I find a bit confusing?

    Sinful eggs with added shrimps

We tried this relatively new place in the Rockville town center on a Friday night. They took over the place that previously housed Eko African cuisine. We had the Sinful Eggs with the added shrimp on top as an appetizer. They are like devil eggs with a twist - fried and topped with fried shrimps. For entrees, we had the Soy Garlic Noodles topped with some lump crab meat and a Butcher cut Pork Chop on a bed of salad greens. The pork chop was beautifully done - tender, moist and flavorful. Menu is a bit eclectic with some southern influence. Food did come out slow although the place was not filled. Service is adequate. Decor is minimalist with a huge bar in the middle. I almost think the space is too big for this restaurant.

This is a new place and they just opened two weeks ago. So far I'm impressed! I saw them in a Instagram review for the Harbor Pie (pot pie with lobster) and came for happy hour. Melissa was the bartender and each of the three drinks I tried were fantastic. Right now for happy hour 50% off apps and drinks. We literally took our actual meal to go because we were so full from apps. I will be back!!

    Garlic parm bomb
    Maggie B.

The service was great - Zalia was super attentive, friendly, and just overall awesome. We started with the garlic parm bomb, and it was delicious. (Please see photo for the cheese pull). The dough was a tad over-kneaded and tough, but the cheese and flavor on the outside almost made up for it. Moving on to the main course... Probably just don't order one. The short ribs were drier than a grandma's hoochie, and based on the acrid flavor I can only assume it's because someone threw accelerant on it to cover up a crime. In a remarkable turn of events, the meat was not even the worst part of this dish. If you grew up in the 80s, you probably had mashed potatoes made from flakes out of a box. If you went to this restaurant, you probably had mashed potatoes made from flakes of someone's dandruff, because there was no flavor. The branzino had more bones in it than a hooker who's been on the streets for 50 years. The asparagus spears were long and thick, but any woman will tell you that's not enough. They were seasoned well, but temperature-wise they were colder than my heart after Grey's Anatomy killed off so many characters I knew I could never love again. The guy next to us had the "sinful deviled eggs," and didn't have anything positive to say about them. He ordered the burger for his entree and said it was good, but mentioned the fries tasted like they were frozen...and left that way. I'm hesitant to write this place off entirely since they're new and still gathering their bearings, but if you're operating on a limited menu, you better be damn sure you execute those menu items well.

"Lobster" taco rolls on brunch menu.
    Chris N.

I went here with my girlfriend for Saturday brunch. We ordered drinks, the lobster taco, pancakes, deviled eggs, potatoes, and chicken sausage. Where do I start? Lobster tacos were horrible. Barely any lobster meat. Way too much onion. Tortilla was stale and the dish presentation was horrible. Pancakes, burnt outside, Barely fluffy on the inside. Potato's we ordered for the side, cold and under-seasoned. Food also came out at random and not fast at all. If you want slow and under season food not doesn't even come close to worth the value. Go here, if not avoid like the plague.

Underwhelmed and unimpressed. Definitely room for improvement. Appearance: All-white, minimalist interior which was fine if there was something concrete to add to the ambience, e.g., music (it seemed all over the place). It gave the bare minimum, as far a look, while trying bring in income. Reception: No host or stand upon entry, felt lost until walked further in by the bar and the bartender inquired if I was picking up or dining in. He was probably the best part of the dining experience despite me not sitting at the bar. I chose to sit at the back with full view of the restaurant; however, the kitchen staff were so loud, you could hear their conversations over the audio/music, which also seems to be connected to some kind of streaming platform with commercials. Note: I came at 3 pm on Sunday and there were only 3 or 4 other patrons. Staff/ Customer Service: Employees were just wandering around, chatting at bar, busser looked very young and sat at one of the patron tables, the second time in his phone. While the waitress was nice, she was unfamiliar with menu and she, along with the owners, overall seemed inexperienced. I inquired about still water, she didn't know what it was and they didn't have any. The owners and manager were there, and I thought it would be a nice touch to check in with tables to get a sense of how things were going as a new restaurant, especially given how few patrons were actually in the establishment at the time. Food: I ordered the Sinful Eggs, 1 single Fork'n Pancakes, the Southern Breakfast, and the Mocha Martini. Everything came out at the same time when the sinful eggs (appetizer) should've come first followed by the main brunch items. By the time I got to the scrambled eggs, they were cold. The eggs gave a cross between scotch eggs and deviled eggs. They were actually decent, but could be a lot for one person given the fried nature of the dish - better for sharing. The pancake had an odd taste, almost like it wasn't cooked all the way, but it was. The southern breakfast was ok, but noticed there was no salt or pepper on any of the tables. I could've asked, but didn't bother to as ijust thought it was odd not to be readily available, again everything was bare bones. The Martini was strong but decent. Timing: 5 min - from being sat to approached for ordering 5-6 min - to get all the food ordered above 6 min - checked on after receiving food Miscellaneous: There was an area that was a bit elevated from the others, seemingly for a big group, but still open to everything. It just didn't make sense anesthetic or functionality-wise. If anything, I'd recommend the owners extending the grass wall all the way around this area except for the steps. I may give it another try during their happy hour, but certainly not for brunch unless improved.

    MoCo Drop
    Wingyan L.

Brandy, Brian, and I visited Fork & Kitchen in The Square and overall had a really solid experience -- strong cocktails, generous portions, and bold flavors throughout. First, the drinks deserve their own moment. The Moco Drop (svedka, gran gala, lemon juice, simple syrup) and the Lychee & Grapefruit Spritz were both well-balanced and noticeably strong -- which I personally loved. These aren't watered-down pours; you're definitely getting a proper cocktail. Food highlights: The Branzino - beautifully pan-seared Mediterranean sea bass with lemon caper sauce and roasted asparagus. Light, flaky, and one of the most balanced dishes of the night. Butcher Cut Pork Chop - thick, bone-in, brined and fire-grilled, finished with rosemary garlic butter. Juicy, flavorful, and satisfying. Soy Garlic Noodles with Shrimp - savory, garlicky, and comforting. The shrimp were seasoned with Cajun seasoning, which added a subtle smoky heat that elevated the entire dish without overpowering it. I actually really enjoyed the Sinful Eggs -- especially the sweet relish inside, which added a nice contrast and brightness to the richness. The flavor combination worked well, and I can see why it's a popular starter. That said, one thing I didn't fully understand was why several items leaned heavily fried. The Sinful Eggs, Lamb Meatballs, and even the Crabcakes all had a fried element to them. While crispy textures can be delicious, it felt a bit repetitive across multiple dishes. I would've loved to see more variation in preparation styles to create better balance throughout the meal. Overall: great vibe, strong cocktails (huge plus), and standout entrees -- especially the fish and pork chop. With a little more variety in cooking techniques, this could easily move from a 4 to a 5 for me. Still worth a visit, especially for Happy Hour (50% off appetizers, draft beers, and wines Monday-Friday 4-7pm).

Their Instagram popped up on my feed and the food looked delicious! We went here for brunch this past weekend and were very pleasantly surprised! The pancakes were so fluffy and delicious. The creme brule french toast was out of this world! So fluffy but still light. The deviled eggs were also very good. We will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!

Take a walk with me in your mind as you read this review: My wife discovered this place on TikTok and we were looking for a new brunch spot to try. We made reservations for this place and we were surprised to learn during our visit from our nice server Venicia that they are in the soft-open phase of things; they've only been open since Valentine's Day week and this was their third week open. Now I can get to the other parts of the review! The location: This place is in Rockville Square near Trader Joe's. Parking here is tricky, you MIGHT want to arrive earlier than you think to get a good spot or chance it using Trader Joe's parking (Shhh) The Atmosphere: The vibe here is chic/modern/artsy. It's giving museum meets warehouse with good lighting and open floor plan. I thought for a second I stepped into an upscale ghost kitchen. They are working on the aesthetics of the place. They have circular lighting and plants covering portions of the space. They also have a wall that has different sizes and shapes of vases with lighting on each one. This is where the museum Vibe comes in. They have marble styled tables. They are planning to add more things for the Grand Opening and I can almost assure you it will be a quite popular place once word gets around! Most people don't even know about this place yet :) this is your queue to go ASAP. The Service: Our server Venicia was very nice and helpful. She was prompt, friendly and what we appreciated most; honest! I had asked her opinion on a few items I was considering and she told me the truth. Thank you for that :) The Food: We started off with drinks. My wife got ginger ale and I got cranberry juice while we looked at the menu. We decided on their pancakes; they were crunch on the outside like that of cornbread and fluffy on the inside like a pancake but dense and came topped with what appeared to be a cinnamon butter and bourbon flavored syrup! (Yum) I decided on their creme brulee French toast which came on to nicely sized pieces of bread with Creme Brulee filling in the middle and fruit. It was also plated beautifully with cream drizzle. My wife and I also got a few sides. She got some of the fluffiest eggs I've tasted in a long time with cheese and some well-seasoned potatoes. I opted for bacon and we shared the Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese was good but could use a bit of salt and pepper but that's an easy fix. That was the only thing that we felt could use some improvement but otherwise 4.5 outta 5 stars - SupaFlyITGuy approved! You'll definitely have a great time here and should also come back for dinner which we hope to do in the future!

    Happy hour!

What a great place to go to on a Wednesday night. The restaurant itself is lovely and modern. The Happy Hour specials cut the cost of the wine, beer and appetizers in half. The lamb meatballs and deviled eggs were excellent. And it's delicious. We enjoyed having Rachel our server - she was great! - and think that more people should take advantage of this restaurant in Rockville.

We came here for dinner to celebrate a birthday. Located in King Farm in Rockville, Botanero…read morespecializes in small plates. There's free street parking (if you can find a spot) and a bigger lot behind the Safeway. The restaurant was cozy. The main dining area was smaller than I thought, but they do have a bigger room in the back (often used for hosting special events). The ambiance was lively. Sports games were playing on the tvs behind the bar, and many tables were filled with people chatting at their leisure on a Wednesday night. Since it's a small plates place, the waitress recommended ordering two to three plates per person. She explained serving sizes of the various dishes and gave us some suggestions. In addition to their regular menu, they also had a chef's specials menu for the month. We started the evening by putting in an order for the paella Del Mar ($23.50). It takes about 20 minutes for them to make the paella, so be sure to put your order in early. Since we had a party of four, we had the option to order the full-size paella, but since we were ordering other dishes, we opted for the normal (small plate) size. The paella had a good mix of fish, shrimp, calamari, and mussels. Note: the shrimp did not come peeled, so get ready to get your hands dirty. The paella had a delicious crusty bottom, but it was a little oily. 4/5 stars Other plates we ordered: - mushroom and bacon flatbread ($17) - I enjoyed this overall. There were generous amounts of toppings (mushrooms in particular), though I didn't really taste the bacon. The crust was perfectly soft and chewy. The flatbread was topped with arugula which was lightly dressed in a balsamic vinaigrette. I would've liked it better if the vinaigrette was drizzled directly over the flatbread. 4/5 stars - Brussels sprouts ($12.50) - fried and also tossed with bacon. The Brussels sprouts were big and not as crispy as I would've liked. They tasted more soggy/steamed. It was also served with a smoked paprika aioli on the side. 3.5/5 stars - lamb chops ($21) - came with two chops. We ordered it medium rare. I think it was served more on the rare side, but I didn't press the issue. The lamb chops were seasoned well, but one of the chops was primarily fat. The lamb chops were served on a chickpea puree (aka hummus-esque). It also came garnished with a giant twig of rosemary stuffed in a goat cheese and sun-dried tomato ball. I like goat cheese and sun-dried tomatoes, but it seemed out of place with this dish. 3/5 stars - beef empanadas ($12) - came with two empanadas. The empanadas had a crispy exterior and good flavor, but note that it has a little bit of a kick to it. It also came with an aioli dipping sauce. 3.5/5 stars - ricotta and spinach malfatti ($13) - February special. Four dumplings served in a tasty and tomato sauce. Super cheesy (cheese pull alert), but it was pooling in oil. Big portions. 3.5/5 stars - seared scallops ($16) - two scallops served with farro and squash risotto and topped with a pistachio jam. Scallops were cooked nicely, but I didn't care for the risotto. Beautiful plating. 3.5/5 - crab & shrimp fritters ($15) - another February special. Comes with four fritters. Filling tasted like the inside of a dumpling. Served on top of a generous serving of creole cream. I was hoping for more of a crunch with the fritter. It had a vermicelli exterior which lacked that crunchy pizazz. 3/5 stars - for dessert, the birthday boy was treated to their crème brûlée ($10) which was tasty, but didn't have enough brûlée for that signature sugar-breaking. It was also the thinnest crème brûlée I've ever had. 4/5 stars - we also ordered the churros ($10) which came with four pieces and came flattened (think French toast sticks) as opposed to the round ridged sticks that I'm used to. We enjoyed the chocolate dipping sauce that the dish came with, but the churro shape lacked those crispy edges; execution was a little lackluster compared to other churros that I've had elsewhere. 3/5 stars The bill came out to about $50 per person, after tax and tip, which felt fair for the variety of foods that we ordered. We left full. No complaints about service. We had a carafe of water at the table to take care of our own refills. Plates were brought out in a reasonable amount of time. Food overall was 3.5 stars for me - there was nothing that I particularly loved - but I'll round up for pleasant service and ambiance.
