what we actually needed, a quick fix on sprinkler line, they just put a cap on it

We had a deeply frustrating and costly experience with John Moore, and I would strongly caution anyone before trusting their diagnosis. We contacted them because we noticed a persistent wet patch in our yard and suspected an underground leak. Their team came out, assessed the situation, and told us it was a sewer line issue. Based entirely on their professional recommendation, we approved $11,000 in sewer repairs. The problem was never resolved. It turns out the issue we originally called about had nothing to do with the sewer. A later visit identified the actual cause: a leaking sprinkler line. The fix? Capping the line, a quick, simple repair that cost $185 and immediately stopped the wet area. Let that sink in: $11,000 vs. $185. The photos make this even more concerning: * The first image shows the extensive digging done by John Moore to "fix" the sewer line, leaving our yard torn up and in poor condition. * The second and third images show the actual issue weeks after -- a small sprinkler line leak that required minimal work and was resolved in minutes. Even more troubling, we learned after the fact that John Moore does not handle sprinkler systems, yet this possibility was never identified or ruled out before recommending thousands of dollars in repairs. Additionally, during the backfilling process, debris including bricks was thrown into the trench, and our main water line was damaged as a result, creating a flood and further issues When we raised this issue and asked for a resolution, we were ultimately told by Jacob the plumber as well as Yanis and Brice at the customer care, they do not owe us anything. We trusted their expertise and made a major financial decision based on their diagnosis. Instead, we were left with an unnecessary $11,000 expense and a damaged yard -- all for a problem that was fixed for $185. If you are dealing with any kind of underground leak, do yourself a favor don't call John Moore and get multiple opinions before moving forward!

Greedy service techs work on commission. Poor quality and no response from home office on installation issues. Zero customer service.

Ask the Community - John Moore Services

Has anyone on this forum used them to repipe their whole house system, horizontals and verticals? If "yes," did they, also, do the Sheetrock repair? If "yes," was it satisfactory? How did their price compare with other large vendors?

As the highest rated pest control business in the city, I had high expectations for their service…read morebased on their online reputation. Over the series of experiences I've had, it was strangely somewhere in the middle. The positive side was that they were incredibly responsive. The customer service is on point and the attitude of their management is definitely a class act. I have no doubt this is a major driver for their most positive reviews and deservedly so. The part where I struggle is the mixed experiences from the various technicians that had come to one of my properties that had an ant, cockroach, and spider problem. The initial $160 was a bit higher than I expected, but a small price that I was willing to pay to rid the property of creepy crawlers. Jason and Servando (sp) extremely brief in their initial run of the place. Even after their treatment, I still saw plenty of spider action where it was clear were not that thorough. After explaining my situation to their staff, they assigned the manager at the time, Daniel, to come back and apply treatment the way he intended. He went nuclear with a whole host of sprays and was extremely thorough both inside and out. His work made a world of difference and there was very little bug activity for close to a year. He was thorough in his explanaition and super transparent with his approach. If every experience was this thorough I think I'd be more receptive to future service. He has unfortunately left the company. Typically they recommend treatment 3 to 4 months. The subsequent visits after my initial concerns were not charged, which I'm thankful for but should not have taken that many times just to get the desired result. It was close to $250 for carpet ant treatment, which felt out of my budget but was assured that the chemicals would be different than the standard ones used for treatment. I was presented with a 30 and 60-day warranty which is fine but not something I elected to go for this past time around. While I'm sure they've done stellar work for other households and other properties, I do wish that I was able to experience the same magic on a consistent basis.

They did an excellent job! Pam had come alone previously and tried to do this job by herself but really needed an additional hand moving the washer and dryer. Armando had also come previously to help set traps and seal weep holes . Both of these technicians and the other team member , Ian, did an exceptional job helping get rid of the rats! He found the source of the entry, got on a ladder and took a picture. His solution: wait til I don't hear it anymore and call them back and they can seal it up. Seriously? Paid 59$ for this - for nothing. I called wildescapes. Matthew said "I'm gonna come put a one-way trap up there, seal all but the trap and I'm gonna do it right now" The squirrel was gone by the afternoon. I will say biotech called me back an hour after their tech was out here. Office person asked if I would like them to come put a one-way trap on the vent? You know what??? that would've been an excellent suggestion for the tech to make while he's sitting here talking to me and STARING AT MY HOUSE but it's too late now. She said they could send a more experience technician. Then why did you send that one to begin with? Don't waste your money- call Matthew.
