I knew from the first company I called that there were complications to replacing my very old gas water heater, so I called Texans Water Heaters for another opinion. Brandon immediately recommended switching to electric would be the most cost effective. He called an electrician he has worked with, who turned out to be very reasonable and someone I will use in the future for my electrical needs, and the day after that work completed, Brandon & William quickly capped the gas line and replaced with a new electric water heater. Brandon was correct electric was much more reasonable price, in my case, than replacing with another gas water heater. Very happy I called Texans Water Heaters and pleased with their services every step of the way. read more

THE MOST EXPENSIVE ONE HOUR REPAIR IN HOUSTON. FIVE DAYS WITHOUT HOT WATER. A $1,000 LABOR QUOTE FOR A REPAIR THAT TOOK ABOUT AN HOUR AND THEN TRIED TO HOLD PARTS THAT BELONGED TO ME HOSTAGE WHEN i WANTED TO GET THE REPAIR DONE BY ANOTHER COMPANY. BASED ON MY EXPERIENCE, TEXAS WATER HEATERS SEEMED FAR MORE INTERESTED IN MAXIMIZING THE SERVICE BILL THAN HELPING RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. I CANNOT RECOMMEND THEM. USE EXTREME CAUTION AND GET A SECOND OPINION BEFORE APPROVING ANY REPAIR WORK. We purchased a Navien tankless water heater from Texas Water Heaters in December 2023 (their recommendation), including installation of a new electrical outlet. When the unit stopped producing hot water less than three years later, we expected a straightforward warranty repair. Instead, we spent five days without hot water while Texas Water Heaters turned a relatively simple repair into a frustrating and expensive ordeal. The technician initially told us the motherboard had failed, they were getting weird electrical readings and that labor would be covered because Texas Water Heaters had installed the electrical outlet. Texas water heaters then brought in an electrician, who claimed the outlet was functioning properly. After that, Texas Water Heaters changed course and presented us with a quote of $1,000 in labor (because we hadn't purchased their service package/labor warranty at time of install) to replace a fan and PCB control board, despite the parts being covered under warranty. YES, THEY TRIED TO CHARGE $1000 TO REPLACE TWO ELECTRICAL PARTS COVERED UNDER MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY IN ADDITION TO THE $89.00 service fee just to come out! The THOUSAND DOLLAR estimate to replace two electrical components IMMEDIATELY raised red flags. I contacted another Navien-authorized service provider, who told me the repair should take about half an hour and that their hourly rate was $175. Unsurprisingly, I chose the second company. The situation became even more frustrating when Navien informed us that Texas Water Heaters had arranged for my warranty replacement parts to be shipped to their office instead of my home. Navien further explained that because Texas Water Heaters had accepted delivery of the parts on my behalf, Navien would not send replacements and I would need to obtain the parts from Texas Water Heaters. When I called to request my parts, I was initially told they had to be returned to Navien. Only after I requested written confirmation that Texas Water Heaters was refusing to release parts that belonged to me did they call back and suddenly agree I could drive over and pick them up. The second service company completed the repair, installed the warranty parts, and performed a full tune-up for a little over $300. read more

We had a terrific experience with Texans Water Heaters. They installed (2) 40-gallons in our attic in the Kingwood area. By phone and in person the representatives were professional, responsive, courteous, and presented well. We received next day service and fair pricing. We wanted a company that specialized in water heaters and are happy to have found Texans. We will use again and recommend. read more

Called Texans Water Heaters requesting a 50-gallon Bradford White water heater and scheduled the appointment for the next day. The installers called ahead before arriving, which I appreciated. My water heater is located in the garage with easy access, so draining my old 15-year-old tank and installing the new one took just about two hours. The team was professional and easy to work with. It's been about a month since the install, and everything is working flawlessly. read more

Fast, professional, and excellent price. They were able to replace my water heater the next day. Very respectful of property.

They were great. They actually gave me a quote over the phone rather than charging me $300 to come out and look at my system like joe the plumber. Price for a tankless system was $1200 less than competitors. Would use again if I ever needed it, have already recommended them to others. read more

My my heater header was installed from them and it had a problem by the heating element. The manufacturer gave them a PO to get the water heater from at other location, that is not what they did the heating element has a problem again. I just spoke with the owner and he said very loud " WE WILL NOT HELP YOU AGAIN". I am 72 years old. I have not done anything wrong to them.Most.Certainly not to the water heater. Absolutely disgusting attitude. I will find someone who it's a real business man. Please be very careful. What that kind of people, please stay away. I assume some business people will read that. And if you are honest business people, please let me know otherwise I will find somebody who is honest. I have Rheem water heater pilot light go out, these guys can out and it was fixed in a jiffy, and it didn't cost an arm and a leg- less than a week's worth of Starbucks. I wanted to DIY to save a buck , watched endless Youtube videos, but decided safety-first; certainly, money well spent. The technicians were great conversationalist too, can't be that. read more

I bought the water heater in march 2024, it had to be replaced in June because the heating element went out. Now it's December, and I have the same problem again. This time i want my money back, I have no use for a water heater, where the heating element has a problem every 3-4 month. It is still under warranty, but I am retired and cannot pay for coming repairs or a new one. The woman in the office likes to shout, she has no right to do so, that is not professional. My neighbor used Texans Water Heaters last summer and I took a photo of the van for when it was "our" time. That was yesterday (a Sunday prior to Memorial Day). Joe actually returned my call after my husband prompted me to hang up and just call someone Tuesday as we thought for sure it would be an emergency call being a "holiday". He scheduled me for the first call of the day and assured me they always want what is best for the customer and there are no emergency fees for Memorial Day, it's just a normal business work day because you never know when a water heater will go out. Carlos and Jose called prior to coming and finished the job in little over an hour. Our 13 year old previous water heater had started to corrode the valve so the quoted the repair job and completed it too. Thank you both for the wonderful, speedy and clean service you provided. They have a vacuum to clean up any mess from the replacement. They also explained stuff to my husband up in the attic. read more

This company is highly rated for good reason! The owner, Joe, was easy to reach, very straight forward and honest, and gave me a no non-sense quote over the phone that was hard to beat...I know because I shopped around for quotes. He was ready to get me squared away immediately, even if I seemed indecisive, he laid my worries to rest by promising to give me exactly what I want. I know my 40-gallon water heater was on its last legs and I did my research on condensing and non-condensing tankless water heaters along with their pros and cons. Our garage is pretty packed and I felt there was no way they can easily add a drain line for the condensing model. Also, I felt that the non-condensing unit would be the best option for me even knowing that it is slightly less efficient but still much more efficient than the old tank style water heaters; non-condensing doesn't require the drain line, however, involves a larger hole being cut in the ceiling for the concentric venting. Anyways, his team of Jose and Brandon showed up and they reviewed the area and said they could do whatever system I wanted but highly recommended the condensing unit to give me the best flow rate and operational savings. I agreed and they got right to work immediately. They quickly drained and removed the old tank, ran a drain line, and installed the branded condensing unit I wanted...which was the latest Rinnai unit that they said I was only 1 in just a handful that had them in the area because they released just a few months ago. There was one hiccup after install where the flame wouldn't light but it was due to a technology setup issue...the crew apologized and promised to come back the next day to make it right but Joe not even an hour later called me and apologized again and was determined to get it up and running and asked if he could come by personally to try and resolve the issue which he did. Everyone at Texans Water Heaters were punctual, nice, courteous, professional and completed the installation neatly all the while answer any questions I had. I would definitely recommend and be glad to work with them again if the need arises. The price quoted was exactly what was due and paid with no additional surprise fees. Thank you again Joe, Jose, and Brandon! read more

Made the call and less than 24 hours later, I had a new tank and hot water. The owner Joe was very courteous and professional on the phone, explaining everything that need to be done. Unlike other companies, he immediately gave me an estimate and that estimate didn't change after the work. Joe and his helper were very courteous, did the install very clean and didn't cut any corners, as I watched every step. If you are in need of a new water heater, either tank or tank less, Texans Water Heater is definitely your go to. I promise, you will not regret it or the more than reasonable price you will pay. read more

I was lucky enough to have time to research different companies for my water heater replacement THIS time. Last time, however, my water heater flooded one of my bedrooms and I had to call for an emergency repair which cost me considerably more than I expected. I chose Texans not only because their price was the lowest, but because they took the time to explain what was going to be done, and how much I'd pay; not a penny more. They patiently waited while I continued to get other quotes and were never pushy. Moreover, both Joe & Brandy were a pleasure to talk with & we discovered we had some things in common. I did all the legwork so you don't have to. Texans was the best, fastest, professional, AND most affordable. Thanks Joe & Brandy! read more

These guys know their stuff. Clean efficient and punctual...needless to say the water heater works great!

My normal plumber came to do a repair for me and found that my water heater also needed to be replaced. It is a service he does not perform so I called around for quotes to three different companies. While Texans water heater service was not the cheapest buy a few hundred dollars, they were able to come out to do the replacement within an hour. I cannot begin to tell you how glad I am that I did not go with a cheaper company. These guys are THE professionals. Jose was awesome, efficient, communicative and just a really nice guy. They took pictures of their work that are attached to the email receipt and invoice. They provided all of the documentation without me needing to ask, and everything was simple, easy, and straight forward. They even did an excellent job of vacuuming up. José is wonderful. Ask for him when you call - and if you need a water heater you should call this company. read more

Jose and Carlos installed my new Rinnai RXP199iN Tankless Water Heater. They were very professional. friendly and answered all my questions. I think anyone who can answer all my questions without rolling their eyes has to be pretty good. "Texans Water Heaters" were great from my first phone call. They kept to schedule, did what they promised, and cleaned up after they had finished. They even made a special trip back to my house two days after the installation to show me how to adjust the temperature. Joe the owner and Priscilla in the office were very patient and answered even more of my questions. Thanks to your entire team for doing such a good job. read more

Wow! A HUGE thank you during the freeze in Houston! Our water heater went out so I did the Lowe's and Home Depot run first. Lowe's was nice but couldn't install for weeks. Home Depot folks couldn't care less, were rude and couldn't even give me a quote as the installation wasn't their department and the installers would have to call me after I filled out the online form. (FYI.....I'm still waiting for that callback). I checked around, called Texans Water Heaters and they couldn't have been more accommodating, professional and pleasant. I called on a Saturday and they worked me in 2 days later on a Monday morning. 2 guys showed up, took care not to scratch the wood floors, were super nice and changed the old one out in no time! Price was comparable to Lowe's, maybe a few bucks less but the service was priceless!!!! I would absolutely recommend these folks to anyone. Thanks again for making my life easier and giving me back a warm shower!!!! read more

Our ancient water heater was leaking and needed to replaced immediately. After making many calls, Texas Water Heaters had the best quote and also most professional and friendly manner. Jose and Eli arrived promptly. They performed the job and cleaned up after themselves. They were polite and worked quickly. In fact they discovered an improperly installed pipe in the attic that would have caused a fire! They didnt charge extra for fixing it. I highly recommend Texas Water Heaters! They even work with you with the payment arrangements. Fantastic company and great employees! read more

Responded quickly with a quote that was cheaper than the other vendor I had provide a quote. The other vendor wanted to add additional costs to the install that didn't seem reasonable while TWH was all inclusive with their price. Gave them the green light for the project. They confirmed the date and time (an hour off, but corrected) and showed up a few minutes early. The three man crew led by Carlos (IIRC) quickly got to work. They were friendly and seemed to know their roles in the operation. Seemed like the longest part was draining the old tank. They added a drain pan, new lines, a new shut off valve, and cleaned up the connection to the little thingy on the side (T&P valve or whatever). All said and done, they were finished in about one hours time. The new heater is nice and straight while the old one had a bit of a lean to it. Overall, I'm very happy with the install and the crew. The total price was only $950 which was almost $300 cheaper than the other quote from another vendor that only does water heater installations. read more

It is easy to give Joe and his crew a great review. Simply because they did everything right. From start to finish. One of my pet peeves with plumbers is to be patronized, "blackmailed" when needing an urgent repair, and pushed against the wall with upsells, markups, and phantom (hidden) costs. No such thing with Joe. - Reasonably priced - dealing with Rheem professional tier product - over-the-phone quotes without sales pitches, - quick arrival of summary quote via email - quick scheduling - arriving in time with crew of 2-3 additional people, - laying tarps to protect floors, - quick and professional installation, - respectful treatment to the house, - hauling away the old equipment, - no cheating on required accessories: new lines, new drain bassins.... conclusion: I would recommend them with confidence, and I would gladly do business with them again. read more

Free estimate is a LIE. This company just flat out told me that the water heater needed to be replaced WITHOUT coming to my home to look at it and despite the water heater NOT leaking. There are many things that can be wrong with a water heater and without the unit leaking, it doesn't always have to be replaced and I am HAPPY to replace the unit if it needs to be done, but at least come on site and LOOK AT IT FIRST to determine that it needs to be replaced. I'm guessing a number of clients have been duped by just being told, "welp, it needs to be replaced." Grateful to have missed this obvious scam. I mean if you need a new water heater and know you have to get a new one, definitely give them a call, but when it comes to getting an honest estimate of what needs to be done, this is not the place to go. ETA: The owner's wife called me back to essentially ask me to take down my review and tried to hide the fact that the person that spoke to me rudely on the phone and refused to come to my home was the OWNER. This "liability issue" is a ridiculous excuse. FWIW, the company coming to my home on Monday is charging me for the visit but will comp the fee with same day services, which is more than fair, but don't offer a FREE ESTIMATE and advertise it if it's just a phone consultation. To the OWNER and HIS WIFE: After the way I was treated on the phone the FIRST TIME (which you should absolutely stand by if you're going to treat people that way): I wouldn't let you in my home to diagnose an issue because I flat out don't trust that you would tell me anything different than it needs to be replaced. read more

Outstanding service and unbeatable prices!! Couldn't have asked for a better experience. Jose and Carlos were our technicians and were punctual, respectful, honest and had a work ethic you don't come across often these days. After inspecting our existing unit and attic space they offered us 3 different options and clearly explained pros/cons. I would give Joe and his team 10 stars if that was an option. They came out to replace my water heater that had leaked and taken out some of the ceiling. Technician did great job - however, the job involved replacing a gas valve for a water heater. The heater had been installed 3 years ago; within a year the gas valve was replaced; today, the gas valve was replaced again. Because the labor warranty had expired, the contractor refused to waive the labor cost. And if the valve malfunctions again, whether in a year or two, I was informed that I would be charged labor costs again - and that if I didn't like it, I should contact the manufacturer. read more
