Last year I gave this company an unfavorable review because of the treatment I received from a salesperson who is no longer with the company. I contacted the company President, Brian Lincoln, and found him to be a very honest and compassionate individual who refunded, hours later, the amount of money in question. I wish to retract the unfavorable review I gave to the company as a whole due to the actions of one bad apple who taunted the good reputation of Redfin Plumbing. I do not recommend Redfin/Linc Plumbing. I am a senior living on Social Security and I feel that I was taken advantage of by this company. The sales person, Dillon, came out because of a toilet that was backing up, he never ran a camera but just guesstimated that I would need one or more new pipes. He paced off the distance from the outside drain to the offending toilet and declared that one pipe was 37 feet. I believed him because others in the complex had been redoing their pipes. On his iPad, (I did not receive a copy) he showed me an estimate of $13,000 to tunnel 37 feet to replace the one pipe leading to the toilet and $15, 800 if there was found to be additional work "once they started tunneling." However, he invoiced me for $15,800 before they even started tunneling so it seems they already knew they were planning to tell me a lower price but charge me a higher price, similar to a Bait and Switch situation. I gave him a down payment in a check which used up all my social security and more on July 2, 2024, then took out a loan for the rest ($13,000) with their loan company, Service Finance Company, LLC in Florida. In addition to feeling like Dillon was deceptive in his representation of the price and possibly the repairs that were necessary, I discovered that Redfin/Linc Plumbing never finished the City of Houston permit requirements, resulting in my permit still being "open" as of September 23, 2024, per my conversation with a gentleman named Don in that department. They also did not take due diligence to finish the job as represented to me prior to signing. My flowerbeds and plants were not attempted to be saved and while neighbors saw at least one truckload of dark dirt being hauled away, sand was left everywhere after they finished. Sand was stated in writing as being too porous to use on the Inspection Report filed by the City of Houston inspectors, Knight Engineering. We don't know yet whether sand or dirt was used for the backfill. I was told at the beginning that the entire job would take no more than three days, so on the 4th day I asked if they would work Saturday to complete the job before Hurricane Beryl hit Houston on Monday, July 8, 2024. They said, "no weekend work," so the hurricane proceeded to fill up the entire underneath of the house with water which overflowed its banks, creating a muddy mess on the common walkway and in the children's playground space for many days. During this time, Redfin did not respond to me, and I had to go to their office on July 18, 2024, to get them to come finish the job. After Redfin worked one day, they claimed that the job was finished and told the Service Finance Company to begin the loan, even though the permit was not closed, pipe segments were still strewn on my property and the children's park, landscaping and downspouts were destroyed and sand was everywhere. Because none of the previous landscaping would grow in the sand, I had to pay the Homeowner's Association to replace the sand with dirt soil so that grass and plants would grow again on my property as well as the landscaping Hereon my adjoining neighbor's property. Here is the core of this review: Even though only one 37' pipe segment was replaced, I was charged $15,800. When I asked for a refund, they said I had agreed to pay $15,800 for 37' yet the invoice I had signed on July 2, 2024 was for 45' of pipe at a charge of $15,800 which doesn't even make mathematical sense. I filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau but learned after 30 days that Redfin didn't need to respond because they are not members of BBB. I filed a similar complaint with Service Finance Company who sent me a couple of emails but, essentially, did nothing to respond to my situation. Stay away from Redfin/Linc Plumbing and tell your friends the same; especially if they are seniors because the sales force is well-spoken and well-versed in doublespeak to confuse you in order to charge higher prices. read more

Wow, definitely calling Redfin Plumbing next time I have an issue or for annual maintenance! As a first time tankless water heater owner, I recently found out the heater should be descaled (flushed to clear out any calcium or sediment build up) each year. I reached out via Yelp for a quote, and they were super responsive and professional (nice, timely, proper grammar.. hooray!). I was able to schedule a visit through the app and things were smooth sailing! We actually ended up having 2 visits, since we discovered our water heater set up didn't have the proper valves (lé sigh, thanks builder!) on the first visit and they had to be installed, but you can definitely have the descaling done on the same consultation visit if yours does! For each visit, Uli, the plumber, gave us a call to let us know he was on the way. (You pick a 2 hour availability window, and they call 30-40 min before they arrive just to confirm). Uli arrived with shoe covers and respected my home (big deal for our no-shoe house!) and was super pleasant and nice. After asking a few questions about our water heater, he explained everything he was planning to do and what to expect. I felt like he was very knowledgeable and honest and didn't feel like services were being pushed onto me. He gave us service quotes on the first visit-- seemed fairly priced... especially for how great of a company they seemed on first impression! Really seemed like he was doing a thorough consent for a surgery, except for my water heater instead of a patient, haha~ I like to learn so I (tried not to but probably) hovered nearby to watch him install the valves-- Uli was super quick and knew what he was doing. He was incredibly nice and answered any questions I had. When he started the descaling process, he explained what he was doing and gave tips on descaling in the future. He cleaned up afterwards and vacuumed any puddles caught by the pan. Payment by credit card via an iPad was easy afterwards. FYI, routine descaling is $199 and installation of valves if your builder is silly like mine is around $340. Overall, I had a great experience with Redfin and plan to call them again in the future for any issues I have and for maintenance. It was convenient to send a Yelp message and have questions answered so quickly. Charged me $150 just for plugging in a loose cord. At my last job I was paid only $100/day for being substitute teacher, a job which, at times, can be very stressful and difficult. Then a few days ago, I was traveling, spent night in a hotel and was charged around $150. That included 20 hours [3:00 pm to 11:00 am] in a really nice hotel room, w/bathroom, TV, etc. It also included a nice breakfast. Redfin came to my rescue today. I stupidly poured the wrong thing down my garbage disposal and both sides became clogged. I requested a quote via Yelp. Kenda messaged me via Yelp immediately. Great customer service. Initially inquired with our home builder's warranty department for an issue with the water heater, and they referred us to Redfin. However, because it was a Sunday, I could only leave a message hoping they would get back to me the next day. In the mean time, I found another plumbing company able to schedule and confirm an appointment for Monday. This company (not Redfin) gave me their diagnosis that the water heater manufacturer parts were defective and the gas valve required changing. Unfortunately, they estimated that the repairs would take up to a week as they needed the specific parts sent from the manufacturer. Annoyed at the lack of a quick solution, I reached out to Redfin, who did return my call earlier in the morning, desperate to see if they had any openings for today, Monday. They were quickly able to squeeze me in for a spot not long after the technician from the previous company gave me his diagnosis. Redfin sent out a team of two professionals and were able to quickly come to the conclusion that the builder installed the wrong type of water heater. The current water heater having issues is a propane heater and is not truly compatible with our natural gas line. They were able to completely swap out my water heater for the appropriate one the same day in under an hour. The were very empathetic to our situation, as we have not had consistent hot water in three days. We had 1 of our 2 hot water heaters gushing out water over the top of it and flowing outside of my house. This was late at night when noticed, they were here the next morning and advised what needed done. He gave us the option for replacing whole unit, or he could do a cheaper way of just taking the 1 out and leaving us with 1 unit. Most people do not offer a significantly cheaper option. The service manager Eddie was the one who came out to service my house. (i like to learn from them when they come out just in case it happens again to me or someone we know). Eddie explained thoroughly what was happening and why it was happening. Very very knowledgeable man. After the repair was done, I still had some leaking from my eave. Eddie advised it was from a clogged pipe from my ac unit to my upstairs sink. He went ahead and helped with that as well. They replaced the hot water heater, but went ahead and reconnected all the hardware with copper tubing, insulated all the pipes and did a few more extra things to our set up. Again, was not asked and was not quoted but he did it anyways. I cannot say enough good things about Eddie and his team. The only reason I called this company is that my warranty company recommended me that this is a good number to call for any plumbing issues. My garbage disposal was making a strange noise and was not working properly so I called Linc Plumbing. During the phone call I explained to them what was going on and did ask them the estimate of the cost, but they did not give me any clear information on how much they will charge for just showing up plus the fee for fixing the issue. Days later the plumber guy came in to my house and looked at my garbage disposal. He literally spent 5 mins and found a tiny piece of plastic stuck in the machine and pulled it out. Then the machine works properly, there is no mechanical issue at all. A day later I received a bill from them which stated that the cost is 175 dollars. For just showing up and pulling out a plastic. I understand that the cost might vary for different company but they should tell me in the first place so I can decide to not choose them, if I knew that the cost for just showing up is 125 dollars. Coz, Purchasing a new garbage disposal cost less than 100 dollars. After negotiations, Linc. reduced the bill to 140 dollars but still, it hurts my feelings.
