Brian Williamson the sale rep told me that your company have the tools to eliminate my rodent problem. He quoted us $8,000.00 with $1,585.00 as a down payment & the rest would be financed. I called Brian letting him know that I now have the down payment. Instead of him returning to our home to collect the payment & have us sign the contract, he decided to forge both our signatures. Mind you, I gave him Karen Reese & he sign KRB and JB. Since June 27th, he is unreachable. Terminix technical came to seal the holes around the perimeter and the roof to prevent entry. Then came out again to lay a sticky trap in the attic, stove, pantry and garage. He have yet to seal the hole inside the house. After Hurricane Beryl, the sticky traps were empty. I asked if there's something much stronger than the sticky traps. He stated he will asked his supervisor. When the technician returned the second time, he place rat traps from Walmart on 7/19/24 and told me that his supervisor wouldn't approve of anything stronger due to the Humane Society, REALLY? Do those who are a part of the Humane Society cohabitate with mice, rats, & rodents? These things multiple worse than rabbits. Rodents are destructive and serve no purpose in one's home. Would you pay $1,585 down and finance $6,340.10 at 18% for a rodent epidemic inside your home. The technician laid down sticky traps which the rodents out smarted that and then they laid down five large wooden rat traps throughout the house and attic. Unfortunately, the rodents didn't take to the large wooden rat traps neither. Terminix, what are you going to do about the $8,000 problem? I will seek a lawyer of my choice to sue Terminx for the forging of our signatures and the outrages price to eliminate rodents that are still occupying our home. BEWARE, DON'T CALL TERMINIX FOR YOUR PEST CONTROL PROBLEM BECAUSE THEY ARE UNABLE TO DO SO! Terminix need to stick to Termites only!

The team was very prompt in responding to a quote request, and Jerrod, who came out to give the quote, was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and thorough. He provided a competitive quote with a realistic warranty and had a handout to back that up, with a clearly outlined and communicated plan from the get-go for how they might address any issues that come up along the way. From the time we signed on, communication was clear and prompt - the ladies at the office are honestly some of the nicest I've encountered in Houston, and every person who came out, from the person who did the pre-install visits to the team that came out to do the actual job, were courteous and explained very clearly what to expect. We live in a home built in 2021 near active construction and developed a rodent issue in the attic. After initially managing it with traps, the problem escalated when I noticed a strong odor on Monday, 4/27. We found significant droppings and urine staining in the attic, so I requested multiple estimates. Pest exclusion quotes ranged from $900-$1,850, and duct/insulation remediation ranged from $4,800-$7,800. I found Total Pest Elimination based on strong online reviews from yelp. On Wednesday, 4/29, I contacted Juan (the owner) for a written estimate. He sent Elli to inspect the attic; he attempted to locate the source of the odor and set traps but could not find the dead animal. I repeatedly followed up for the written estimate, which was not provided until the next day. My husband and I hired the company because they offered a single-scope solution, provided the lowest quote, and indicated they could start quickly. The total estimate was $6,600, and Juan stated the work would take a couple of days. Communication and scheduling were inconsistent from the start. On Thursday there was no proactive update; when I called, Juan said they would begin Friday, 5/1 at 9:00 a.m., and offered to send Elli Thursday evening to set traps. Elli arrived with Andrew, brought odor eliminators, set traps, and again searched unsuccessfully for the dead rodent. They confirmed they would start work at 9:00 a.m. the next morning. On Friday, 5/1, no one arrived at 9:00 a.m. At 9:22 a.m. I texted Juan and was told Andrew was "around the corner." Andrew arrived around 9:48 a.m. without supplies or direction and remained in the attic until about 12:30 p.m., when Juan arrived for the first time with minimal equipment (a small shop vacuum, bags, and paper to protect the entryway). Juan then requested 50% payment to purchase supplies, which had not been discussed in advance. Elli arrived after 2:00 p.m.; with limited equipment, they located and removed the dead rodent and then left. I was told they would return Saturday at 9:00 a.m. to complete the job. By this point I had paid $3,500, and I was relieved the odor was improving after the rodent was removed. A larger crew arrived Saturday and began removal work with two shop vacs, but the job was not completed. I was later told Sunday would not work, and that they would return Monday at 9:00 a.m. and finish by Tuesday at the latest. Late Sunday night (11:35 p.m.), Juan texted that he was trying to locate a machine to rent and would update me in the morning. As of Tuesday, the work still was not finished, and the team left approximately 10 large bags of old insulation at the curb despite my request to move them (my garage has been unusable throughout this process). It is now Wednesday; I have had to cancel appointments and stay home, which has disrupted my job search and daily schedule. I also want to clarify what was represented as included in the scope of work: closing all exclusions, setting traps, and returning weekly (four weeks) to remove any rodents caught. I was also told they could remove and replace all contaminated insulation and, once removed, sanitize the attic floor. That capability was not there. Juan arrived with only a small shop vacuum and suggested the crew shovel insulation out. He hired contract workers who said the proper machine and appropriate PPE were required, and there was no plan or containment (plastic sheeting), even though our attic access is inside the house--not in the garage--so containment is essential. The insulation "upgrade" conversation was also misleading: I was told I would need to pay an additional $1,500 to upgrade to fiberglass, but the insulation already in my attic was fiberglass (R-38). I asked for the same R-value to be replaced, but what was brought was the cheapest material available and did not match what we agreed to. As of May 7, I am out $3,500 and left with a major mess: dust throughout my house and garage, and my garage is still unusable. The workers who were in my home worked hard over the week, but they lacked leadership, proper supplies, and clear direction. I terminated Total Pest Elimination on May 6 and now must hire someone else to clean up and complete the attic work. Juan may do well with basic pest trapping but based on my experience I would be extremely cautious about hiring this company for exclusion or insulation/remediation work.

Over the series of experiences I've had, it was strangely somewhere in the middle. The positive side was that they were incredibly responsive. The customer service is on point and the attitude of their management is definitely a class act. I have no doubt this is a major driver for their most positive reviews and deservedly so. The part where I struggle is the mixed experiences from the various technicians that had come to one of my properties that had an ant, cockroach, and spider problem. The initial $160 was a bit higher than I expected, but a small price that I was willing to pay to rid the property of creepy crawlers. Jason and Servando (sp) extremely brief in their initial run of the place. Even after their treatment, I still saw plenty of spider action where it was clear were not that thorough. After explaining my situation to their staff, they assigned the manager at the time, Daniel, to come back and apply treatment the way he intended. He went nuclear with a whole host of sprays and was extremely thorough both inside and out. His work made a world of difference and there was very little bug activity for close to a year. He was thorough in his explanaition and super transparent with his approach. If every experience was this thorough I think I'd be more receptive to future service. He has unfortunately left the company. Typically they recommend treatment 3 to 4 months. The subsequent visits after my initial concerns were not charged, which I'm thankful for but should not have taken that many times just to get the desired result. It was close to $250 for carpet ant treatment, which felt out of my budget but was assured that the chemicals would be different than the standard ones used for treatment. I was presented with a 30 and 60-day warranty which is fine but not something I elected to go for this past time around. While I'm sure they've done stellar work for other households and other properties, I do wish that I was able to experience the same magic on a consistent basis.
