Terrible. Customer service is a joke. Delayed service 4 times (June 17-22nd) on work that should have been completed during an evaporator (AC) coil install in May. On May 24, 2011, John Moore services replaced my evaporator coil on the air conditioning unit in my attic. After completion of the installation, a John Moore services inspector arrived to audit the installation. The inspector had found that the installer had not taped up the duct work correctly during the installation and had left a general mess in the attic. The inspector said he would set up an appointment for the installer to come back and complete this work. This never happened. I called John Moore myself on June 13th to set an appointment. The appointment was for Friday, June 17, 8am-12pm. No John Moore personnel showed up. I called back at 12:05pm, and the representative had not even scheduled anyone to come out to the house. Three other phone calls during June 17th, and each time, the representative had not scheduled a crew to come back to the house. Three times I was put on hold, then asked if I could be called back. Not once during this time was my phone call returned. Still no one from John Moore made any attempt to correct this situation. I called back on Saturday, June 18th, to get another appointment. John Moore services said they'd have someone at my house that day. No one showed up. I set up another appointment for 430pm on Monday June 20th. Monday, June 20th, 430pm, no John Moore services personnel were at my house. I had still not had a phone call returned. Each time I called, I had been put on hold, then asked if I could be called back. No one returned my call. Tuesday, June 21st, I talked with another John Moore representative at 730am. I explained what had happened previously, with no one showing up at the house and no one returning my phone calls. He promised that a John Moore services representative would be at my house at 430 pm that day (June 21st) to complete the necessary taping and clean up. He gave my his number and his supervisors number to call in the event that no one showed up again. By the time 430pm rolls around, still no John Moore services personnel at the house. I tried both the representative's direct office number and cell phone and his supervisors phone, but no one answered. So I called back to the toll free number and asked to speak to a supervisor. Before doing so, the representative was reluctant to grant my request, and wanted to repeat the same thing by putting me on hold and then getting me to call back. She transferred me to the supervisor on duty. She then immediately passed the buck to an installation representative. After speaking with him, and explaining the same thing to him, he informed me that at 5pm, there was no way a crew could be to my house that night. He promised that no matter what, he would be at my house, in person, to complete the work. So I set an appointment for June 22nd, Wednesday, at 430 pm. He assured me that he would have a crew waiting for me at 4pm, in the driveway when I got home, so that they could complete the taping and clean up. No one showed up and no one called me to inform me that they would be late/not be arriving. The representative had given me his cell phone number during our conversation on the previous day. I called it, no answer, no one returned my voicemail. I called back to the toll free John Moore number and asked to speak to the same rep in the install department. That rep was not available, I was told. I spoke to another representative in the installation department, who informed me that the crew was not free yet and was tied up on another job. I asked to be transferred to a manager, and spoke with him. I explained to him again, what the situation was and that I was tired of wasting my time being drug around in circles. He indeed informed me that I would just have to wait and that the only time available was at 630pm. At 630 pm, I had another meeting, which I had to cancel, to accommodate the John Moore schedule. John Moore services has lied to me and wasted my day off and 3 evenings this week. This is unacceptable from a company that is the "winner awards for excellence 8 years in a row" from the BBB. read more

The Service Tech provided outstanding service, was a great consultant and problem solver!! We had water coming into our house from the sewage drain. Water was coming out of the bottom of the toilets and started to fill the downstairs shower and tub with every flush. It was disgusting to say the least. At first, I accused my toddler of peeing on the bathroom floor but as the problem got worse it was clear my child didn't make this horrible mess. I never used John Moore before but when my wife said they will come out for free to inspect the problem I called them right away. The problem started at about 8:00 PM Sunday night. I called 877-342-2232 and was told they could send somebody the next day (Monday) between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM. I was not excited about waiting until the following day but my oldest son enjoyed urinating in the back yard that night. The tech showed up around 11:00 AM on Monday and started asking me questions about the problem. I explained what was happening and he knew exactly what to do next. He asked where the clean outs are located and I showed him. Within about 20 minutes he told me what was wrong and showed me the problem. He said he could clean it out for $69.00 which made me extremely happy. He suggested that he also put a camera in the line so he could determine why the back up occurred but the camera would cost an additional $199. At this point, I asked him to clean the line and I'd think about the additional service. By the way, the service tech was really nice and seemed genuine. I was not at all thrilled about spending more money but when he said this would likely happen again I told him to go ahead with the camera. Without the camera he could only determine that water was no longer flowing downhill past the second clean out. This is why all of the sewage came back into the house. After he cleaned out the line he had me flush a few times and then come watch the water flow (or lack there of after the second clean out). This convinced me the camera was a good idea. About 30 minutes later he has me come look at the camera and tells me the pipe is broken. How this happened is beyond me but it's so far down the line he thinks it may be broke where my line connects to the MUD line. He then provides me with an estimate for $3,199.97 for them to fix the broken line. I'm now thinking, this is really not good and I'll have to get a second opinion. But then the service tech says, "call the MUD first and see if they will fix it." If they fix it, you won't have to pay to have it fixed!! I'm thinking that sounds too good to be true but I'll give it a shot if it will save me over 3k. I happily pay him the $268.99 and call the MUD. The MUD sends out a tech and he starts asking questions about what the John Moore service tech saw with his camera. I don't know, so I call John Moore to speak with the service tech but only get dispatch. He called me back within 1 hour, gave my wife details about what he saw and then gives her his cell phone number so the MUD can call him if they have more questions...now that's service!! The following week, the MUD came out and fixed the pipe. The MUD first had gas, electric and utilities marked off. Then they sent a crew of about 4 guys with an excavator, shovels and started digging. I'm so happy it didn't cost me over $3,000 to get this fixed. I never would have thought to call the MUD if the service tech from John Moore didn't suggest I try that first. Thank you John Moore for hiring a great service tech and sending him to my house. Get less for Moore....that should be their advert slogan.... If I could give these guys a negative score I would. My parents used them to remodel two of their bathrooms and to say that they have been unprofessional would be a HUGE understatement. I am not going to list every single issue because there are many and it would be too time consuming but I will let you know about some of the major problems. To begin with, there appeared to be a complete disconnect between their own people. The right hand had no idea what the left hand was doing. It seemed as if there was zero communication between the designer, management, work foremen and actual laborers. As an example, one day two men showed up, who incidentally spoke pretty much zero English. And mind you, they showed up only after my parents had to hassle your company to have someone come over and actually start the work, an entirely different matter which I will address below. Not only was the work quality not very good - many tiles were visibly crooked - but the grout used was completely wrong. It made the poorly laid tiles look even worse. When we tried to explain to them that it was the wrong color grout, with some effort, they raised their shoulders and relayed to me that that is the color grout they were told to use by the superiors. The shower tiles had to be completely redone because of the poor workmanship and wrong color grout. Secondly (something raised above), John Moore's employees did not keep with the work schedule and, in fact, many times never even bothered to show up at appointed times. On many my parents stayed home, waiting for workers from JM to show up and resume work, only to be left waiting. When my parents complained they received excuses from JM's management and empty promises that definitely someone will come soon, only to be let down again. The no-shows happened on a consistent basis and became quite irritating and taxing. It felt like JM didn't really give a damn about the job once they pocketed the money. They put my parents on the back burner, occasionally sending over someone to do a little here a little there to keep us off your backs. It felt very insulting. Mind you, both bathrooms were supposed to have been completed by June 2011 and it is now December 2011 and the aforementioned issues are still issues. And what makes this even more infuriating and insulting is that no one even bothers to call to let my parents know that no one will show up. As a common courtesy, your company can at least make it a practice to let its customers know that your laborers will be a no-show. You provided excuses all throughout this process as to why things are being delayed (Never mind the fact that your employees just did not bother to show up). This material had to be reordered because it is not available, or because there were issues with delivery, or there were "other" problems. While I can understand that sometimes things are not delivered exactly on time, your company knew before hand exactly what had to be ordered. We sat down with the designer in may and drew up a plan and determined what material was needed for the bathrooms. How dare you make excuses four/five months past the agreed upon completion date that you ordered the wrong item. Both bathrooms were supposed to have been completed by June. It is now December and not even the first one is done. With John Moore you don't "get more", you get a very poor service. read more

By the way,should have these prices before work started, I had 6 other companies they could NOT believe these prices and since I was never giving prices for each work by law until keep they started work that option of using company was taking away from me, I have to get a painter to finish the work.Please watch out for this company because they are willing to do any to get money, with good credit it took five minutes to approved you and contracted signed they can change it and tell that manager to override it.They approved my loan on Sept 9, 2016, and add-on more loans on Oct,10,2016 but because I reported them to BBB for making a mess in in my house and they was my loan was not approved because I lain against and it always on my credit report but that never stop they from approving my loan, even added on more loans to my account on Oct 10, 2016, They said this is so-called in-house financing, so they approved all work in my home and I documents that showing that and I told them am only willing to pay monthly payments per contracted that were signed.They approved the work and so must the pay the workers per contract.; They plan to rip me off, this is going to back fire on them since they approved the work and loans and almost done. HORRIBLE. DO NOT USE THEM, THEY ARE INEFFECTIVE, CUSTOMER SERVICE IS RUDE AND AWFUL. Hired them to take care of hornets and ant nests in my yard. They come out, talk my husband into a yearly package, and then spray my yard and home. Two weeks later, my tree cutters find hornets nest all over my yard. My husband goes out and sprays (even tough we have paid John Moore to spray already). After that, it rained and I found a cockroach in my kitchen. John Moore came out and laid bait, and a few weeks later I find more roaches, and they have to come out again and this time he says he forgot to bait around my dishwasher, so he takes care of that. Then, fire ants were found in my office. John Moore came out and sprayed on 11/25/13. The technician's note says "no activity detected, sprayed home and yard". Today, 12/05/13, I find an army of fire ants in my family room and kitchen. I call them this morning to ask them to fix the situation, and the woman on the phone was RUDE, CONDESCENDING, and INEFFECTIVE (just like their terminators). She proceeded to LECTURE ME on the how to process of pest removal works, and then kept asking me "do you understand the process?" while COMPLETELY IGNORING my concerns. When I brought this to her attention she then proceeded to tell me to stop interrupting her while she was talking, and I told her I wanted to talk to someone else. She then CONTINUED TO LECTURE ME and try to say she wasn't actually lecturing me. She basically blamed me for the pest problems and kept trying to shut me up. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only home in Texas with fire ant issues. Then she put me through to some random guy's voicemail and told me to "HAVE A GREAT DAY" in just about the snottiest voice ever. I am asking for my contract to be terminated and I want a refund, if I can ever get someone who gives a crap on the phone to help me. And FYI, I have no kids, we clean our house and mop it every other day, and we're not hoarders or anything. Our hot water heater (15 years old) was not heating. After my wife had a cold shower and went to work on a Friday, I went up in the attic. I couldn't see a pilot light, and water was about 2 inches deep in the overflow reservoir - yucky, rusty water. I got out the wet/dry vac and sucked up the water. I decided to tun off the gas and called John Moore Services. They scheduled a free service call for Sunday between 2-5 PM.. They sent plumber Rusty Christian, and he called on his way; he got to my house just after 2 PM. The water (leak) had filled up the overflow again. He told me the water heater was a goner - which I already knew. He tried to get one out the same day, but he was at my door first thing Monday with the replacement in hand. Allow me to backtrack, though. After we decided on the replacement water heater - we chose a top of the line 50 gallon - Rusty suggested he make a few alterations on the existing unit. This would allow us to have water for a shower/laundry, etc. but Rusty could shut off the water supply to the water heater just in case the leak became severe overnight and flood/overflow the reservoir. I thought this was a great idea. In the off-chance the current heater sprang a huge leak, it would flood the attic and cause some real damage to the attic and upstairs carpet/etc. Well, the new unit was installed professionally and to my satisfaction. We chose to go with an extended warranty - 8 years on the water heater and 4 years with a "anode rod". These seemed a little pricey, but my wife likes to extend warranties on just about everything we get - and I agree with her because she has been 'spot on' about getting extra protection coverage in the past! They also offered financing, but we chose to just pay the balance in full. All in all - a great job (that's you, Rusty!), a good value, a fair price. read more

It is with great pleasure that I am writing John Moore this afternoon. I have been without AC for two days, uncomfortable and concerned with the summer months approaching. Per my phone call to John Moore on Monday May 23rd, a representative was on-site within a few hours and provided a professional and accurate assessment of the AC situation. Justin pro-actively scheduled installation for the following morning. Upon the arrival of the two installation representatives, Marcus Hardy and Johnnie Graham, I was greeted with the utmost respect and professional courteousness. Both Marcus and Johnnie were extremely knowledgeable with the installation at hand which provided efficiency and accuracy to alleviate the discomfort. The actions performed with this particular installation were extremely thorough as to leave no stone unturned that could potentially cause future issues. Johnnie and Marcus were equally thorough with their communication of the issue at hand and extremely respectful of the household environment, diligent to work clean and neat. These two individuals took pride in their hard work while equally providing me with an outstanding customer experience. Although John Moore's corporate culture may breed such work ethic, Marcus and Johnnie also showed their personal character as hardworking individuals, fathers and professionals. I would recommend John Moore, especially Marcus and Johnnie to any future customer I may encounter. Okay, I had to come back in and re-adjust because they did call and the quality inspector (Sonny) came with another worker--Otis, and arrived early this morning on the 4th of July. They went up took a look, and realized that the leak wasn't the result of poor duct work, rather it had to do with the drip pan not being on a slant--it was too level, filling and the overflow running over the drip pan on the back side of the air-conditioner unit. They went in, cut and put the venting in the roof and side walls, as part of the work remaining, but also adjusted the drip pan and fixed that problem. (Fixing a problem that was not the result of their work, rather a miss-installation of the new air-conditioner last summer by another company). They also inspected the work of the team that had come in the day before who had wrapped the ducts and insulated. The found two problem areas and fixed gaps(where the duct work had not been properly attached, and leaks of cooled air spilled out). The point of this addendum to my previous post? They are a big company, but they do stand by their contract, and commitment to providing quality work. They did arrive on a holiday in order to deliver. They reworked the problem areas, and repaired the initial problem of the leak with no additional charge. They assured us that we did need to have the ductwork rewrapped, and indicated we would no doubt realize a savings in our utility bill. We have moved up and become fans of Moore Services! read more

Being in the trade for many years and reading these reviews by these Yelp pussies (you know the tattle tale wimpy type that got beat up on a regular basis in high school) makes me sick....so here goes.............We live in a world that has pipes, and those pipes have to be fixed by men with wrenches. Who's gonna do it? You? You,Mrs Weinberg? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep over your plumbing bill and curse the plumber. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know, that fixing your pipes, probably saved a flood. My existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves floods! You don't want the truth, because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on those pipes. You need me on those pipesl. We use words like "ballcock", "male adapter",and bull dick". We use these words as the backbone of a life spent repairing something. You use them as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who showers and shits into the very plumbing that I provided, and then questions the manner in which I provide it! I would rather you just said "thank you", and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a pipe wrench, and and fix yourself. While John Moore has prices that are higher than other competitors, you could not ask for a more professional and follow through team of workers than the ones I had in my house doing a remodel on my tub. Rusty started the process by showing us what they can do and giving us the quote the day he came to our home. Tyler immediately started the demolition with Jerry and Juan picking up. Each day they finished they cleaned the bathroom and it did not look like there was any work going on at all. In the interim we wanted a vent and light put in and Fundi came in to check the electrical, gave us the bid and told us what we needed for the job. He followed-up the next day and did a FABULOUS Job! Jose came in to do the tile and Roger helped him during that process. Transito, Nelson and Dan S. finished the granite seat and doors for the shower. The job it absolutely beautiful. They check with you throughout the process to make sure each step is what you expected and will make any needed changes or adjustments if it is not exactly what you want. There aren't enough stars on this site to express my gratitude for the team of men who replaced my entire septic line. Jose and those on his crew are worth more than gold. As bad fortune would have it, the weather was the worst it could possibly be for someone trying to dig trenches for a septic. They weren't phased. The following day when the crew was out for various reasons, Jose was there and stayed until nearly dark, digging until the trench was finished. At every turn, he informed me what they removed and why, and what they were replacing it with. This unexpected expense was a nightmare to deal with, but John Moore Services and the technicians bent over backward to help us come up with a plan we were comfortable with. Every decision was left up to me, and I made each decision being very well informed. My septic will be warrantied for ten years. That is six years or more longer than other companies offer and I don't think I would have gotten even HALF the incredible service that I received from these guys. We had used Woodlands Heating & Air several times over the years and were generally satisfied with their service and pricing. We weren't aware that, apparently, the company had been acquired by John Moore Services and renamed Woodlands Plumbing & Air. The service we recently received from this company was very overpriced and extremely unprofessional. We were assured that we would receive a copy of the contract via email, but had to call on the day of the service to insist that they provide one to us. We never did receive an itemized statement and had to contact them several times to get a copy of their insurance, which was finally provided several weeks later - a moot point by then. Worst of all, we discovered that the technician had charged the full amount of the service (nearly $5,000) to our credit card before he had done ANY work. When I called the office to complain, the manager (?) responded, "This isn't the first time that technician has done that." (So why was he still working for the company?) Needless to say, we will never use this company again. read more

I normally don't give out reviews but when a job is finally done right I am left with no choice but to give a review. My heater was not working well so it kept going off and on and at some point it stopped to work. The problem was a tricky one but John Moore service kept coming/ offered advise even with us calling during Thanksgiving since the heater had failed. In particular special thanks goes to Ms.Aneesa who worked tirelessly to get our heater fixed. It is people like Aneesa from John Moore who will make me to continue doing business with them. This lady went above and beyond what I call Excellent service. I was a very frustrated customer since at the time when my heater broke my son was sick with asthma, but Aneesa coordinated with her top Technician to ensure that the job was done to my satisfaction. I have done business with John Moore for many years and John Moore has stood true to their job and as a company have tried everything in their power to ensure that the job done was to my satisfaction. read more

I noticed that our carpet seemed to be damp in our hallway on a Friday evening. I called my husband to check the carpet and we found that the floor was wet in the laundry room. The water heater was leaking from the bottom. In our lives, everything seems to happen on a weekend so I was uncertain if I could find a plumber for a weekend replacement of the water heater. I remembered the ads I had seen for John Moore Plumbing which indicated that rates were the same all week long, including weekends. I called them on Saturday morning and found out that they were booked for Saturday but that they would have a technician out first thing Sunday morning. And that they did. We met a very nice and professional man who spent the day removing the old heater, looking for a warranty replacement and installing the new one. We were very pleased with the workmanship and quality of work that was done. We will be using John Moore in the future and will recommend to all our family and friends. read more

Joseph and his partner were amazing. They arrived 30 minutes into their 2-hour window on a Saturday. His customer service was amazing, they worked hard, and replaced our entire AC system, duct work, and fixed a bunch of things other "professionals" had messed up over the years. Our furnace was installed UPSIDE DOWN by someone else, and every independent technician that came after that didn't catch it. John Moore caught it, and it was verified by a different company that came and gave a separate estimate. Joseph worked all day long fixing all the work in the attic, with no breaks. It was pouring rain outside, so after trying to install the new unit for a while, they decided to come back on a SUNDAY to finish the job. He tried his hardest to leave us w a working ac that same Saturday, and I highly appreciate it. This man needs a raise! My house feels amazing and everything is perfect! So glad I didn't take the "cheaper" way out and finally let the professionals handle this. read more

I can't comment on John Moore's plumbing prices or workmanship as they never bothered to show up. I had an appointment for Wednesday - with a time window of 4 - 8pm. Received a call early in the afternoon asking if someone could be available if a technician became available sooner. Agreed, and took the remainder of the day off to wait for a callback. Subsequently, I got an update from the dispatcher at 4pm, again at 6pm, and a final call at 8pm. Was told that nobody was going to be available to make the callout. The dispatcher persuaded me to reschedule for Friday by offering a 5% discount. I was assigned a time window of 12 - 4pm. On Friday, I made a call at noon to reconfirm that we were definitely on the list. Waited through late-afternoon without receiving any updates from dispatch or a technician as to status. In total, waited around about 10 hours over 2 days. Finally threw in the towel in search of someone else with more integrity and professionalism. read more

In my opinion, there is only one way to do something and that is to do it right the first time. John Moore is the company to choose when you want professional and experienced technicians. I met with Kevin Jaczek at my home in Meyerland to check out my sewer line and toilet operation. He listened patiently and made a couple of excellent recommendations in regard to issues with my existing plumbing that my builder had overlooked. He showed me the correct way to use a toilet plunger and answered all of my questions. He gave me his business card and told me not to hesitate to call him with any questions that might arise. Kevin arrived at my home on time and slipped on his shoe covers before he entered my house. It should come as no surprise that quality doesn't come cheap and that you get what you pay for. I have retained Kevin's phone number so that i can quickly refer him and John Moore to my friends and family. read more
