Strawberry mochi
Lys G.

Vanilla cake in this was amazing. Wish there were more than 2 strawberries. The whipped cream did NOT taste artificial at all I could tell it was fresh and the cake and berry cut it nicely. Mochi was nice and thin. 10/10 would get it again.

Bread options

I was already in the plaza and decided to stop by. They have a wide variety of breads, both sweet and savory, as well as desserts. I ended up getting the Earl Grey Bread, Black Sesame Bread, and the Creme Brulee. The Earl Grey flavor was pretty light in my opinion, but it was still good. The black sesame and creme brulee were definitely the standouts. The black sesame flavor was strong throughout, which I really liked, and the creme brulee had great texture and flavor. The staff was okay overall, though the woman checking us out was very nice. Pricing is also not bad. Parking was easy in the plaza lot. Definitely a spot I'd come back to if I'm in the area.

Sesame Bun and Almond Puff Pastry
Caes F.

JJ Bakery is a local Arcadia bakery, specializing in Asian bread, buns, lunar new year mooncakes, egg tarts and pies. Today, I went there to see if I could get a puff pastry filled with sugar custard. They ran out. No hot dog bun either. The chicken pies are sold in the morning and go fast. They also sell Chinese food, buns, beef stew, and rice burritos. Think convenient store meets bakery. Their cakes are not too sweet and pretty darn tasty.

I am always on the look out for a new bakery to try. I have passed by JJ Bakery in Arcadia many times. Finally; I decided to stop by. The parking lot is spacious, but shared with other businesses. The place was cleanThe service was fast and the staff was nice. By the time we went there which was approaching their closing time, they had run out of a few items. There were still plenty of options to choose from. I was pleased with the selection of items I chose. Next visit, I will try to stop by earlier to try even more pastries.

Double sesame pastry. Soooo yummy!

This holiday season, some ladies will be excited to say "He went to Jared!" but I'm just as stoked to report that "He went to JJs!" The black + white sesame pastry is so darn good, and there's nothing like it that I've found in SD. Not too sweet, flaky and bursting with big sesame flavor. So thank you to my special someone for thinking of me during your LA trip and making my Christmas pastry dream come true!

Nice place. Cute cakes..so pretty. I would come here again if I am in the area. It has good drinks and lovely delicious cakes. I think this place overall has yummy goodies. Service is fine but I had a communication issue. Not sure if my English translates to their understanding.

Black forest cake
Selene S.

Bought their 8" Black Forest Cake for $32 for someone's birthday. It tasted great, not too sweet BUT the layers of chocolate sponge cake were just too thin! This is honestly like 70% cream than cake at this point (see my picture). We didn't buy this just to eat cream. And the layers of cake weren't even- the middle layer only went halfway. We're definitely not coming back to get this cake again. Not worth your money.

Peach and Strawberry Mochi

Came just for the Taro Pudding cake. Smelled really good in the secure box! We phoned ahead and picked up. Also got some danishes while here.

Fan tuan rice with pork sung, crueller, and pickled radish. So good and crunchy !
Lizzy L.

We were craving savory soy milk and deep-fried cruellers so we came to JJ Bakery to order breakfast. Unfortunately the staff informed us after we ordered all the food at the counter, that they wouldn't allow us to sit down at any of the tables since they didn't want to open the seating area for another 30 minutes. We ended up eating the food outside standing. The savory soy milk was delicious although I was surprised by the hot and sour soup that it came in. The sweet soy milk was so warm, fresh, and delicious. My kids and I loved the cruellers. We also bought a fan tuan (rice roll filled with pickled radish, and dried shredded pork ro sung) which was wonderfully crunchy and chewy. The sesame wrap filled with beef was flaky and yummy. We enjoyed the shredded dried pork bun, taro bun and red bean bun but I wish the red bean bun had more filling in it. Their bento boxes seem really popular with rice, mushroom, pork, and several other varieties, and sold out pretty quickly by noon. I would definitely come back for the soy milk and cruellers here but next time will check on their seating area hours since they were really strict about not letting us eat there.

All the baked goods were really yummy and reasonably priced. I was extremely happy to find "youtiao" here, which they called "dragon tail."

Parking - Street parking only, no dedicated parking lot. Interior is pretty clean, cafe vibes, and some tables around but not too many. There's a huge table for big groups as well which is nice. There's also a self ordering kiosks which is always a nice sight to see when you visit tea shops. We tried the White Peach Oolong Milk Tea and the Oops Cheese Matcha Smash which seems to be one of their more popular drinks. The white peach is what you expect, refreshing and easy to sip. Very happy with the drink overall. As for the Oops Cheese Matcha Smash, aesthetically, the drink is great for photos. It looks more like a swirl drink than anything. I love the overall texture of the drink. It was also as refreshing as the white peach. The cheese mix with the matcha created a swirling feeling, each sip is filled with both flavoring, highly recommend. Excited to revisit again later on, love their menu options, and it seems like a decent spot to hangout with friends or a group despite the smaller space.

It's crisp black tea, salty & sweet brulee foam, and non-dairy milk with bouncy, perky boba pearls. I sipped happily. I arrived at Oops Boba Tea & Coffee (Temple City) on Sunday (around 11:12AM). Parking is simple since there's a nearby neighborhood with street parking. I quickly found a spot. Customers can order at the self-service kiosk or the counter. I chose the self-service kiosk, and I regret it because I dislike how the self-service kiosk requires the customer's phone number to proceed. Staff communicates well. After ordering, Staff honestly & politely informed me that they'd need 20 additional minutes for their Boba since they recently opened. I was perfectly fine with that since they spoke upfront and honestly. After the 20 minutes passed, the drink took four minutes and 14 seconds. As mentioned, I ordered the Baked Brulee Milk Tea ($6.59) with Boba (additional 75 cents). It's delicious. This chill drink carries a crisp tea flavor. The foam is also zesty with a soft sweetness. It reminds me of a creamy milk tea. In addition, they made wonderful boba pearls. These boba pearls are sweet, bouncy, and playful. YUM! On ambiance, Oops Boba Tea & Coffee (Temple City) is a wonderful spot to study/work. There's a long wooden table with 9 electrical plug spots, and there's four available electrical outlets. The location also includes customer internet with password; the details are confidently shown on the counter. The location also has a gender neutral restroom in the back, and there's plentiful hand sanitizer bottles in reach. The location felt clean and comfortable. Oops Boba Tea & Coffee (Temple City) uses its space well. There's four tables and one long wooden table. There's also two small outside tables. During my stay, it felt very comfy as I listened to its smooth music. Overall, I had a pleasant experience at Oops Boba Tea & Coffee (Temple City). They serve wonderful drinks and boba. If searching for a place to study/work, this is an easy recommendation. 4.8 out of 5

I've been here twice and really like it…read more First, the drinks. They range from $1.99-$3.99...talk about throwback pricing. Reading th menu made me feel like it was 1999 all over again. Price aside, the drinks are good and on par with what you would find at typical boba shops. The food is where this place really shines. They have a large menu, ranging from rice to noodles to grilled meats served on a hot plate. I got the $21 NY steak today, which was a generous portion, served with sliced onions, corn, broccoli and choice of rice or spaghetti. It's not Morton's but, c'mon, $21 for a steak fix these days is a heck of a deal. Most of their entrees are in the $14-18 range. To top it off, the service is great - attentive and very friendly. Free parking lot in the back.

Unfortunately they have discontinued their weekday combo menu making it less worth the drive for us…read moreso we're not sure when we'll next be back. The good news is, their chicken steak is still just as yummy! We ordered: - Grilled chicken steak with black pepper sauce and spaghetti (4/5): Super crispy skin and juicy chicken. The black pepper sauce adds a fragrant touch - much better pairing than the mushroom sauce we got on a previous visit. The spaghetti portion is smaller than at most other HK cafes and isn't as good though. - Baked sole filet with rice and white sauce (3/5): Had high expectations for this dish but it didn't quite meet them. The rice used was plain white rice which isn't what I'm used to at other HK cafes and it left me a bit disappointed since it meant the dish was much more monotone in flavor and there were bites that were unflavorful. The fish itself was generously portioned and easy to eat with the warming cheese and white sauce combo. Wouldn't get again only because I know other spots that do it much better but decent overall. - Beef stew with noodle (3/5): Had expected this to be dry style with the beef stew over softened egg noodles but it came out as a soup. Beef pieces were tender and generous. Egg noodles were a bit overcooked. - Sticky Rice Dim Sum: They were massive and decent in flavor. They were a little mushy I think because it had been steaming a while (which was probably why they were quick to be served) but we didn't mind - Siumai: Generous amount of fish egg on top and was pleasantly meaty. We found parking in the front but also know there's a lot in the back. The restaurant itself is big and pretty empty and quiet. We were glad that service was friendly and quick this visit since the first time we were there one of the servers gave us attitude.
