Locates in the Cupertino plaza the corner place, grand opening with great idea " Cantonese food meets Szechuan food". The restaurant has contemporary decoration with money bear theme. Since it combines two big cuisine types, the menu can be big which offers different options for different tempts or tastes buds. The food we ordered tastes expected good, no wow there. But I totally love the idea of having two cuisine in one, which fits family needs. The service is decent, we got greeted right away once our turn up. And kids enjoyed the tempting food videos on the wall, also the characteristic money bears. The only thing I don't like is the after food experience --- thirsty a lot ( possibly the MSG) in one or some of the dishes. The highlight part is the fish -- fresh juicy and well cut. Recommended for friends and family, at least try it once . If no msg, surely would like to visit again.
This is my favorite place to get a roast duck to go! It has the best flavor and the packaging is always great. I finally dined in and the service was good. I ordered from the kiosk. It's also always busy inside the dining area! They gave me huge serving forks and spoons to eat with and I couldn't stop laughing. I am in love with the crispy rice rolls! Perfectly crispy on the outside and that nice, soft rice roll texture when you bite into it. The soy sauce chicken and roast pork are also insanely good. I love this place.
My friends and I stopped by Jingege & YaoYao on a Sunday evening around 7:00 p.m. and waited close to 30 minutes before our group was seated. Unfortunately, because we had stopped by so late in the day, there were only scraps of crispy roast pork and char siu in the deli window, and ordering these items were disabled from the iPad menu. Since I stopped by with a large group, we were able to try out a bunch of their dishes, including the soy sauce chicken ($16), salt baked chicken ($16), pickled fish soup ($38), salt and pepper spare ribs ($17.95), egg white fried rice ($18.95), sweet and sour spare ribs ($18.95), string beans with minced pork ($18.95), claypot eggplant with salty fish ($21.95), brown sugar rice cakes ($8), pig ear with chili oil ($9), and cucumber with chili oil ($9). My favorite items were the salt and pepper spare ribs, the brown sugar rice cakes, and the egg white fried rice. Although they're top selling item and advertised specialty is their chicken, I wasn't blown away by either the flavor, or the tenderness of the chicken. The brown sugar rice cakes is not something I would've ordered on my own, but I'm glad my friends insisted on it. I loved the crispiness on the outside of the rice cakes and the soft, chewy texture on the inside. Really a delicious dish for dessert, or as a palette cleanser half-way into your meal. The salt and pepper pork chops are salty, crispy, well-seasoned, and fried really well. No notes at all on this dish -- definitely a dish I would recommend ordering. Overall, I had a very enjoyable meal at Jingege & YaoYao. Service was non-existent, but food is served quickly and quality is high across the board. I would definitely try to stop by for lunch rather than dinner to ensure they don't run out of their other BBQ meats that I never had a chance to try out during my visit. 18% auto-gratuity for large groups.
My mom told me about this place and I ate her leftovers and thought they were pretty good! I brought my friends and newborn baby to eat here on a Sunday at 5 pm, it got way crowded after. There isn't much room for a stroller but since we came before the crowd we made it work. Ordering is done on an iPad. We ordered: Trio meat combo - we chose soy sauce chicken, Peking duck, and char siu. All of it was good and my friend who doesn't like duck said it was the best Peking duck she's had. Rice rolls with XO sauce - this was pretty spicy and a carby option. I liked that they crisped the rice rolls on the wok for that char. Soy sauce noodles - not too salty and delicious Salty fish fried rice - solid! Not the best I've had but it was good. Pomelo drink - not too bitter but wayyy too much ice. It was only like 5 sips. Overall we liked everything we ordered and would definitely come back. Food was not too salty surprisingly.
Place is crowded on weekends, luckily I went in at an off time (4:30pm) and was able to get seated right away! Ordered a pretty good spread: roasted duck, BBQ pork, noodles, and the water spinach. The BBQ pork was a little on the fatty side for my preference, but the flavor was spot on and it still tasted absolutely delicious. The roasted duck was solid, and the water spinach and noodles were both really good and hit the spot. Finished the meal off with a super refreshing ice jelly dessert--it was exactly what we needed after all the savory food! Overall, a great meal!
Restaurant is located in the busy Milpitas Square. Parking is rough during busy times! I really wanted to like this place but was unfortunately unimpressed. The aesthetic is interesting with the clashing colors and choices in types of cutlery+tableware. The shrimp wonton noodle soup's broth was cloudy and lacked taste. The wontons themselves were bland. The noodles were alright. The crispy roasted duck was okay but nothing to write home about. Nothing really stood out food and consumption wise. Aesthetic of the menu is captivating, but if you're looking for solid chinese food, I'd look elsewhere. Service was super attentive at some points of time and then nonexistent in the next. There wasn't consistency during our short time here. I might come back in the future, but the food experience was disappointing in comparison to the appearances presented in the menu, shop interior, and brand aesthetics. There's plenty of other chinese food in the area.
Wow the food!! Sumptuous and good quality! Came for lunch and the place was neat, spacious in seating and just feeling new overall. The BBQ counter at the entrance looks attractive. We ordered a bunch of stuff, including their famous BBQ combo with 3 items and half a roast duck, their pickled veggie with fish soup, egg white fried rice and tofu and pork belly clay pot. The BBQ items came first, shiny looking and full of juice. The fish is humongous! It also came with rice noodle, wood ear, lotus, fish filets, beef slices and it has spice level options. I was also impressed with their tofu clay pot as the tofu was much softer than I expected and the meat was sumptuous too. Service was good. Brought us food timely, and gave us extra napkins at the end of the meal. No wonder my coworker said he comes every week. He deserves a loyalty award!
Came here for lunch and the wait was about 15 minutes, it's was lunch rush hour. So many tables, very clean, loud, just like any other Chinese rest. Hong Kong food, tastes so so good. Pork and duck skin were so crunchy, I'm still craving for it now. Veggies stir fry is on point, we will try the signature fish dish next time with a bigger party
I arrived here around 5:00 pm on a Saturday. It wasn't busy at all, and one of my friends told me they had opened a new location nearby. I have tried their food from East Bay and have always been impressed. It looks like a cozy place to eat, and the place appears clean. The front cashier greeted me and asked what I wanted. I ordered two salted baked whole chickens and one soy sauce chicken. They cost about $30 each. Since it wasn't busy, they served me quickly, and I waited while they chopped it up. I gave the soy sauce chicken to my dad and one salted chicken to my in-laws. I ate one of the salted chickens myself. Overall, my family enjoyed the chicken, and they also said it tasted fresh. I will probably come back to try other items like the spicy fish.
Not sure how different the quality would have been if I ate at the restaurant, but I ordered a crispy roasted duck rice plate for takeout and it was just ok. The bone-to-meat ratio felt pretty high and the quality of duck just didn't seem as good as a different place I had recently. The big portion of its sides that came with the plate was a plus. The location is in a pretty busy plaza that can be hard to find parking at times so expect it to be busy in there.
Decided to check out Jingege & Yaoyao in Milpitas, a fairly new spot near the Ranch 99 shopping center. It's also close to Fantasia and Shihlin, so there are plenty of options nearby if you're in the area. We got here pretty early around 11:20 and didn't have to wait, although there were already a good amount of people seated and eating. We ordered the Yaoyao Suan Cai Yu (fish with pickled mustard greens), which was probably our favorite dish of the meal. The fish was super tender and delicate, and the broth was flavorful with just the right amount of sourness and spice. The sweet and sour pork had the flavor spot on, but I wished it was just a little crispier. The golden char siu was nice and fatty and slightly on the sweeter side. The roasted pork belly was nicely crispy and well made, although it was a bit on the saltier side. I'd come back to try their soy sauce chicken, which is supposed to be their most popular dish. Overall, a solid spot with good quality food. The interior is nice and bright. Very lively as well. The servers were also really friendly and quick to bring out things we requested like extra napkins, serving chopsticks, and to-go boxes. Solid 3.5 stars.

Really like the ease of doing this & the pictures were wonderful. Food arrived to the table fairly quick. Waiter was nice & served as giving us what we needed when asked. Food quality was decent. The dishes all arrived hot & flavorful. I felt like the price was higher than what I'm used to you. We definitely had leftovers. We might go back. Overall, the restaurant was good, service was average & taste if the food was average. I would go back.?
Tried coming here on a weekend once and it was packed so I went on a weekday instead. The interior is kind of odd; there are very bright colors. The service is quick and the food took a bit to come out. The duck is very fatty and they give a decent amount too. The skin is crispy and the duck is soft. For about $17, it's not a bad lunch.

Your consistent efforts and no giving up attitude has officially paid off and daaaaaamn were you right about this place!! Jingege & YaoYao is apparently a popular Chinese restaurant that offers a fusion of Hong Kong BBQ and Sichuan's fiery cuisine. This dual concept allows patrons to satisfy both kind of cravings in unison! FUN, RIGHT? My family and I specifically came to sample out their BBQ offerings. Upon entering you will see assorted meats hanging on metal hooks- showcasing all of its deliciousness. Roasted meats include: *MACAU ROASTED PORK BELLY *GOLDEN CHAR SIU *HONG KONG STYLE SOY SAUCE CHICKEN *CRISPY ROASTED DUCK *SALT BAKED CHICKEN *PIG EAR WITH CHILI SAUCE We placed an order for 2 roasted meats with rice combo, opting for roasted duck and soy sauce chicken. The order took a bit of time to be prepared but the take out dish was piping hot. The plate is a hefty portion and can easily be shared among 2 people. 3 if you have some light eaters. The plate was beautifully arranged and the cuts of meat were delicious. The roasted duck wasn't anything out of the ordinary when it came down to flavoring but the cuts of meat were 100% not as fatty and oily as other locations. The soy sauce chicken was my favorite out of the two- flavoring was delicious and the cuts were so moist. The most surprising aspect of the meal was the side of braised sweet soybeans- I could literally eat this with rice alone but my only complaint lays with them being undercooked. The rice was plentiful but was also mushier than I would typically prefer. 4 Solid Stars. My first experience with Jingege & YaoYao was great. It's always busy whenever I pass by and it was no different when I went on a weekday night! They basically have two menus in one - Jin Gege focuses on Hong Kong style BBQ (like roasted pork belly, duck, soy sauce chicken) while Yao Yao is Sichuan with dishes like spicy boiled fish and beef. You order off a tablet, and they also serve free hot tea, which is always a win. We mostly stuck to the BBQ side and tried the rice plates. The 2-meat rice plate was $17, and the salt baked chicken plate was $15, which felt pretty reasonable. The Macau roasted pork belly was my favorite - tender, crispy, and not dry at all The chicken was also nice and tender. The duck was okay but a bit bony and could've had more meat. We also tried the duck noodle soup. The noodles and soup on their own were pretty bland, so it's better to pour the duck and maybe the sauce into the soup. The duck by itself was a bit too salty, but combined it worked better. For appetizers, we got the deep fried shrimp rolls and they were sooo good. I'm a big fan of pig ear, so I had to try it here! The flavor was good, but the numbing spice was intense. I've never had it that strong before like my mouth felt crazyyy. For dessert, we got the Chengdu oolong jelly and milk custard with fresh mango. The oolong jelly was light and refreshing, but I liked the mango milk custard even more! read more
First time trying this place. It's bright, spacious and clean inside. Once you sit down, they gave you a tablet to order. Then everything gets confusing on the tablet menu. It's not organized by food categories combined by Jingege and YaoYao. It's by two different places - "Jingege" and "YaoYao". They each have their own menu and food category. For example: we wanted chicken wings. Found one chicken wing dish under "Appetizer" in one menu and another different chicken wing dish under "Main Entree" under another menu. It's very hard to find items back and forth switching between two names. That led us ordered the wrong dish. Also, the menu on the window shows that they have Iced Fruit Tea, however, it is not shown in the tablet menu. I even asked a waiter to help and he couldn't find it in the tablet either, so it wasn't available to order. There is some discrepancy between the menus they stick to the window outside vs. the menu in the tablet once you actually sat down. In addition,, the tablet menu inside has a lot of dishes than the menus they display on the window (to show people outside). Besides the confusing menu, the food is decent. - Roasted duck: Delicious with crispy skin. - The XO sauce rice rolls (cheung fun): rice rolls are soft with tasty XO sauce. - Crispy chicken wings: crispy and good, but we were hoping to order the salt & pepper chicken wings originally if not because of the confusing menu. - Minced pork with egg plant clay pot: tasty but super greasy. - Crispy tofu with soy sauce: Taste much better than they look. Crispy outside and soft inside. - Salted fish with chicken fried rice: ok, not enough salted fish flavor. It's kinda bland. I looove the soy sauce chicken here. Like... wow. The sauce is so good I honestly feel like I could drink it lol. The chicken comes out with that perfectly glistening skin that's coated in the most flavorful soy-based sauce. Every bite is juicy and tender, and what really surprised me was how soft the breast meat was too. Usually breast meat can be dry, but here it's incredibly tender and full of flavor. Another must-order for me is their mini fried tofu. These little bites are so delightful -- crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and totally addicting. I kept reaching for "just one more." Everything tasted super fresh and comforting. This is definitely one of those places I'll keep coming back to whenever I'm craving really good soy sauce chicken. read more

It's always a full house on weekend afternoons, so be prepared for a wait! The restaurant features a beautiful layout, fast service, and a wide variety of quality dishes. The standout items were, of course, the char siu, roasted duck, and flavorful soups. read more

Swarms of Asian aunties can't be wrong! This restaurant serves some of the best Cantonese/HK style barbecue you will ever eat. The Peking duck features crisp skin, juicy meat, and all the accoutrements (and a very generous number of thin pancakes, which I appreciate because many places only give you a few). If you order this, please do yourself a favor and get the duck bones in the salt and pepper format instead of the soup. This preparation is not offered everywhere, and their version is excellent and probably the best bite of this meal. The only qualm I have is that the food is not served hot. I know that the style of barbecue is often served at room temperature or just slightly warm, but it cooled down so fast that it was hard for me to eat, and so I took most of it home. (That might not bother others, but I have such a weird finicky thing about temperature and don't like to eat anything oily, greasy, or fatty below a certain temperature because the texture bothers me. YMMV. The duck bones were served freshly fried and crispy, though.) Also, the tea, which is I know is supposed to be served hot, was sadly not. Heard good things about this place and decided to give it a try. The decor is modern and bright. You can see all the BBQ meats on display as soon as you enter the restaurant. The three of us ordered the Yaoyao Combo with Sliced Beef in Hot Chili Oil and Boiling Fish, their Signature Stone Pot Spare Ribs Rice, and Build Your Own Duo BBQ Platter with Golden Char Siu and Soy Sauce Chicken. The Yaoyao Combo was huge and quite flavorful. The Signature Stone Pot Spare Ribs Rice was very tasty. The BBQ platter was good but the taste was not quite Hong Kong style. All in all everything was decent and portions were very generous. Service was good and staff seemed pleasant and friendly. Prices were very reasonable and affordable. read more

New restaurant in this busy plaza. They don't have a display for their name but called jingege and yaoyao. 2 types of cuisine in one! Hong Kong (jingege) and Sichuan (yaoyao) dishes. Bright and vibrant setting inside and can see the Chinese BBQ right when you walk in. Ordered via iPad and had quick service. Started off with the golden soup pickled fish. Pretty big bowl with lots of fish and a small batch of noodles in the middle. Tasty soup with some slight sour flavor. On to the HK style dishes. We got the combo BBQ dishes which had roasted duck, chicken, and golden char siu. All the meats were high quality, tender, and tasted fresh. But they were all on the salty side and needed rice to help with the saltiness. The roasted duck had a crispy skin but was drenched in sauce for too long making it salty. Chicken was soft and wasn't dry. Char siu didn't have that sweet glaze flavor you typically get from a traditional HK place. Wonton soup was very average and almost plain. My favorite restaurant of all time! The menu is endless with so many delicious options from their BBQ section to their sour pickled fish soup dishes! The best authentic Chinese food I have had in a while! The service is also fast and efficient! The servers give you tea/water to start and an iPad to look at what is on the menu! I had a decent experience! I'd love to come back again in the future because they were completely sold out of duck, charsiu pork, and soy sauce chicken at 3 pm :( I would recommend the Beef Brisket Rice Rolls! These are pretty oily, but so flavorful! A good portion size and super tender beef. I enjoyed this! The Golden Suancai (large) was indeed REALLY LARGE! So many options to choose from but it seems like they are most known for their roasted bird options which you can always see hanging in the front of the store. We tried a variety of meats and all were really tasty and juicy. Each had a lot of flavor and it paired very well with the scalloped fried rice and a leafy green. Overall, the food was pretty good. The fish with pickled cabbage was delicious, and the golden char siu was really good too. The soy sauce chicken was also good. The only thing I didn't like was the crispy roast pork--it was mostly just fat and not good at all. read more

Tldr; convenient location. quick, but not overly friendly service. slightly above price point for similar dishes elsewhere (bbq plates). We ordered 2 combo bbq rice plates so we could try multiple meats - macau pork belly, char siu, roasted duck, and the soy chicken. Of the four, table favorites were the soy chicken and pork belly. Each plate came with plenty of white rice, a few of pieces of veggies, and soy beans. Also ordered the salt and pepper ribs (came out very hot temp-wise and crunchy, which we liked). read more

A restaurant that serves both Sichuan and Cantonese cuisine. What an interesting concept! We don't have many places that specialize in Cantonese style barbecue in the neighborhood, so my husband and I were pretty excited to try. The design of this restaurant seems more like a chain rather than a mom and pop shop, but I'm not complaining. The restaurant seems relatively clean, the teal/red color contrast is fun, and the menu is extensive. It has the vibes of a no-frills diner where service is quick and to the point. The patrons can also get loud (a little too loud for my liking during my visit). On our first visit, we had to try the some of the barbecue. We both ordered the barbecue rice plate with our choice of two meats. My husband got the char siu and roasted pork belly while I got the soy sauce chicken and roasted duck duck. I thought the flavors of all the meats were delicious, though I thought the meat was pretty skimpy on the roasted duck and soy sauce chicken. My husband said the seasoning of the char siu tasted more Chinese style rather than authentic Hong Kong style. The roasted pork belly had nice flavor and good crunch. I also ordered the dumplings and enjoyed it. The dumplings were juicy and the savory broth had a prominent white pepper kick. Overall, I enjoyed the food on our first visit here and would like to come back to try more of their menu, especially the Sichuan dishes. read more
I came on a Saturday afternoon for lunch and it was pretty busy, but the wait wasn't too long. I got seated in about 10 minutes, which was nice. We ordered the roasted duck and the suan chai yu. The duck was flavorful, but ours didn't have much meat and was mostly bone. I still see the potential though, so I'd definitely give it another try. The suan chai yu came in a huge portion and could easily feed 3-4 people. It wasn't as sour as I prefer and was a bit on the greasy side, but I still enjoyed it. Overall, this is one of the better Chinese restaurants I've been to, and I'm excited to come back and try more dishes. read more
By far the best Chinese bbq I've ever had so far. The long waitlist backs my statement too. I had the luxury of eating roasted duck for the past 28 years but I have never experience an explosion of wet moisty meat juice when taken a bite into it... I never even knew it was possible. You have to get this duck. I wanted my second meat option to be the roasted pork belly but they ran out. I then knew this was the popular meat to get. I then opted for the char siu and it was also pretty good, with good portion and seasoning. The sides also complimented the dish very well too. Need to go back for that pork belly. read more
We've been to Jingege & YaoYao in San Leandro. Now, they have a location in Milpitas! They take over where Loving Hut used to be located. This location has a bit more selection of dishes than the one in SL. The parking can be challenging especially on the weekends. The restaurant's two color scheme is to show the two different restaurants but you can order from either menu using their kiosk that they provide for you when you sit down. Booth and table seating available. Two separate multi-user men and women's restrooms. Be careful, as the floor can get slippery especially on rainy days. Service: The service is very friendly, helpful, and attentive. They do offer hot tea or a carafe of ice water. Food: We ordered the following... Soy Sauce Chicken (half order, 3.5/5) . The sauce was good. Though, the chicken was chewing than expected and didn't come off the bone as easily. Beef Brisket Rice Roll Pot (4/5). The rice rolls were tender and soft. The brisket was flavorful and tender. We both liked this dish. Steamed Rice (4/5). Long grain rice nicely cooked to absorb all that delicious sauce. For starters, pretty authentic Cantonese/HK food. Loved the aesthetic and felt right at home. Service was attentive, but both times we went they forgot an item. For the price, it is reasonable! Food: I thought the Peking Duck was average, though I generally don't like Peking Duck. Thought it was a lot of skin and barely any meat. I tried the honey BBQ pork and I thought it was a solid 10/10 Chow Fun was solid but nothing to rave about. Sour fish soup was solid 10/10! Parking sucks, go there early. read more
Small wait and greasy floors. Sour fish is lighter in flavor. The duck is solid but I like the bbq pork best (char siu) for its intense soy flavor. Chengdu jelly dessert good ingredients and flavor but was told by chengdu guy the jello is not authentic. Prices are solid here. Worth a try. read more
