General Tso's Chicken
Leo S.

There aren't a lot of "true" Chinese take out places in Media, but for what it's worth, Jing Fong takes the cake. The food is not spectacular, but from my experience, they are consistent with their food quality; a lot of the dishes taste similar to other above-average Chinese take out establishments. The prices are reasonable, maybe a hair bit expensive, but I think it's worth it. Overall, when you want Chinese take out, you usually want a combination of two things: quality/taste and price. I think Jing Fong has the right mix of both. You won't be blown away, but you won't be disappointed in the quality of the food.

Greasy. Soooooo greasy. Even the homemade tea has grease in it. The hot and sour soup was bland and the Kung pao chicken was left wanting.

Lived in Media a few years now. I tried a bunch of places, this is the one that stuck. Love the Hot and Sour Soup. Everything is good.

This place is a great value for the money. Tasty food and fast delivery, you can't ask for more in a neighborhood Chinese place.

Used to be very good until the ownership changed over in the last year. The food is overcooked and sometimes very salty.

From the moment you walk in the door, the wait staff take great care of you. They make sure you are happy with your table, your order, and experience overall. So helpful and friendly. That makes all the difference. The food is delicious. In the past we've had hot tea to drink and it is always a great choice. Over the years we've had many appetizers, but the pork and chive dumplings and all the soup dumplings are our favorite. We love crafting our own dipping sauces using the 4 different options on the table (dumpling sauce, chili sauce, vinegar, and soy sauce). Yum! We've also had many meals over the year, but our favorite is the lunch meal deal. This includes a smaller meal portion over rice for a lunch price. It keeps us coming back for lunch year after year! The chicken with garlic sauce is my absolute favorite. My husband mixes it up a lot, but he really enjoyed his orange chicken this time. One time we came for dinner with a large group and the servers took such good care of us. They even provided a chop-stick tool and guided demonstration for the kids with us. It was so sweet! The decor is warm, inviting, and appropriate for the dim sum menu. The dinning area and bathrooms are always clean. We love Tom's Dim Sum, and we know you will, too! See you next time!

I got to try the scallion pancake, the spicy port soup dumpling, and the Shanghai pork dumpling…read more The scallion pancake was great! A nice flavor and I really loved the lightly crisp yet a little chewy texture. The spicy soup dumplings were my favorite. Definitely packed with flavor! Would come here again just for those

We had a very pleasant meal here with some good friends during our brief trip to Philadelphia…read more They suggested this place because they are familiar with one of the chefs, and we're always up for a new Asian fusion dining experience. We were seated right at our reservation time on the second level. We appreciated the bright lighting that seems to be lacking in a lot of restaurants these days. Our server greeted us warmly, took our drinks order, and gave us plenty of time to consider the menu as we caught up with each other. There are certainly a lot of different ways you can go here. They have an interesting array of signature rolls plus more traditional rolls, nigiri, and sashimi platters, but also a nice selection of appetizers, noodle and rice dishes, salads, entrees, and even Italian-style pastas. We ended choosing a selection of appetizers and rolls. Cucumber seaweed salad - ponzu dressing with a spicy aioli, this was fresh and crispy and quite good Crispy chicken bao buns - the mantou was soft and fluffy and the chicken was nicely flavored and worked well with the slaw/relish served on the side, but we would have much preferred pork belly instead of chicken Calamari - served with a yuzu aioli, this was a little disappointing because the calamari wasn't as crispy as we had hoped Tuna crispy rice - thin slices of tuna sashimi that you put on a round fried rice cake and top with a salsa. Interesting concept, but the salsa really didn't really seem to fit with dish. It was just a bit too spicy and overwhelmed the tuna, which was also a bit too thin to take center stage shishito peppers - light tempura batter and dipped in a garlic yuzu aioli, this was quite a tasty dish Salmon Samurai and Media Maki rolls - these were unexpectedly large - they seemed to be double rolls. The salmon roll had shrimp tempura and fresh mango that was quite nice. The Media maki had shrimp tempura, spicy tuna, cucumber, and asparagus, also very good - Pistachio opera cake - moist, complex in flavor, very delicious - Molten chocolate cake - rich, dense dark chocolate cake topped with mint gelato and served with a berry compote. My favorite dessert of the evening. - Pot de creme - thick, almost frosting-consistency cream topped with berries and crunchy topping. This was almost too much sweetness and I think that a slightly lighter consistency would have been nice, but I still ate more than my share In addition to a varied menu, they have a fine selection of beers, wines, cocktails, sakes, and Japanese whiskey. Our server was quite friendly and helpful. We were allowed plenty of time to chat after our meal, and we ended up being the last party to leave the dining room. It was a lovely evening and dinner, and we're looking forward to a return visit to try some of their other offerings.

What happened to Azie. Just like most other restaurants in the area, the quality has been in steady…read moredecline for years. This most recent visit was the worst. The service was friendly and prompt -- no issues there. But the food. Yikes. Kobe beef hot rock tasted really low quality. Shrimp tempura roll was tasteless and crunchy in a disgusting way. Truffle fries used to be upscale but now they are just fat greasy fries with truffle powder dusted on. My salad with "grilled shrimp" came with small, chewy, and overly salted sautéed shrimp. We've given this place a few tries recently because there are not that many good restaurants left in Media and we didn't want to cross another one off the list , but we're done after this visit.
