Seafood and spinach dumplings
Peter M.

Food: 3/5 Service: 5/5 Came here for takeout earlier this year. This was our first trip here. We got a few of our usual dishes to try for comparison to other places. Seafood and spinach dumplings: Light and crispy with a tasty filling. Probably the best dish we tried. Singapore Mei Fun: Shrimp and Chicken with onions, it was ok. Shrimp Ho Fun: Thick noodles in a savory sauce with shrimp. Also ok. Walnut Shrimp: Medium to large size shrimp with walnuts in a savory sauce. It was fine but my wife prefers the sweet sauce to savory. Tofu Hunan style with pork: Big tofu triangles in a savory sauce with pork and vegetables. A little kick to it. Food was ready when I arrived and payment was friendly and quick. Parking is streetside in Media and it took me a while to find a space. Since it's on State Street, I might take the SEPTA 101 trolley there if I went back.

Nothing spectacular about the food. Honestly, I'd much rather head to a hole-in-the-wall takeout joint. Portions were not great for the high pricing. You'd get a bigger bang for your buck at a normal takeout. Sure, the place is clean. The service was friendly-ish, but the waiter took our leftovers and I wasn't able to take them home. Sad! Appreciate his haste though!

The place is a lovely, fair priced chinese/Japanese/sushi place. The service was superb, friendly and attentive. Portion sizes were generous, with complimentary pickled cucumber and roasted shelled peanuts with a touch of spice. Everything was good from the soup, pot stickers and entrees. They have a great and inexpensive lunch menu so I will be trying that soon. One thing that would have made it perfect? A hot pot of tea for the table!

Take out review: Gorgeous restaurant inside, beautiful decors and interiors. Their menu also broad like other Asian restaurants, includes variety of dishes with beef pork duck, chicken, seafood and vegetables. We put in a take order with them. The order was prepared within estimated half an hour time. We liked the beef dishes, thin noodles. Triple crown (shrimp, scallop, chicken) was also good. The royal crown duck was disappointing. It was on the dryer side, not enough seasoning on it. The pancake was deep fried too much. They were very generous with us, gave us lots of side dishes, utensils and fortune cookies. Loved their FC, as its mixed with chocolate.

Nice and clean, with plenty of seats and also private party room for bigger party group. The hostess is nice and will work with you on the menu and reservation.

Tasty food and friendly service. The sushi was fresh, though some dishes could use a bit more flavor. Nice spot for casual dining.

Very fresh and well presented food. I loved the egg rolls and the won ton soup. Will definitely return when I am in the area again.

Quality Chinese and Japanese food. They are especially strong with their sushi! We've been eating here for years.

Conveniently located on the corner of Orange and State, it's easy to find and even easier to fall in love with. The inviting glow of its windows draws you in from the street, where the hum of passing cars and the trolley mixes with the lively chatter. Stepping inside, the open and vibrant ambiance envelops you w/ soft lighting casting a warm hue over sleek tables, and an ancient brick wall while the subtle scent of ginger and soy wafts from the kitchen. Last night I ordered their sushi and sashimi platter, and it was nothing short of fresh and delightful. Each piece was as tasty as the next. Talking vibrant slices of ruby-red tuna and pale pink salmon, artfully arranged with ginger and a nice dollop of fiery wasabi. Biting in, each melted in my mouth with that perfect balance of flavors. The briny ocean freshness of the sashimi mingling with the subtle umami of soy sauce, while the sushi rice offered a slight chewiness that contrasted beautifully with the tender cuts. Service was attentive and welcoming, with staff gliding efficiently through the rooms. Their friendliness adding to the overall experience. For sushi, fresh and tasty this side of the pacific rim, Azie is a standout that'll have me back.

We had a very pleasant meal here with some good friends during our brief trip to Philadelphia…read more They suggested this place because they are familiar with one of the chefs, and we're always up for a new Asian fusion dining experience. We were seated right at our reservation time on the second level. We appreciated the bright lighting that seems to be lacking in a lot of restaurants these days. Our server greeted us warmly, took our drinks order, and gave us plenty of time to consider the menu as we caught up with each other. There are certainly a lot of different ways you can go here. They have an interesting array of signature rolls plus more traditional rolls, nigiri, and sashimi platters, but also a nice selection of appetizers, noodle and rice dishes, salads, entrees, and even Italian-style pastas. We ended choosing a selection of appetizers and rolls. Cucumber seaweed salad - ponzu dressing with a spicy aioli, this was fresh and crispy and quite good Crispy chicken bao buns - the mantou was soft and fluffy and the chicken was nicely flavored and worked well with the slaw/relish served on the side, but we would have much preferred pork belly instead of chicken Calamari - served with a yuzu aioli, this was a little disappointing because the calamari wasn't as crispy as we had hoped Tuna crispy rice - thin slices of tuna sashimi that you put on a round fried rice cake and top with a salsa. Interesting concept, but the salsa really didn't really seem to fit with dish. It was just a bit too spicy and overwhelmed the tuna, which was also a bit too thin to take center stage shishito peppers - light tempura batter and dipped in a garlic yuzu aioli, this was quite a tasty dish Salmon Samurai and Media Maki rolls - these were unexpectedly large - they seemed to be double rolls. The salmon roll had shrimp tempura and fresh mango that was quite nice. The Media maki had shrimp tempura, spicy tuna, cucumber, and asparagus, also very good - Pistachio opera cake - moist, complex in flavor, very delicious - Molten chocolate cake - rich, dense dark chocolate cake topped with mint gelato and served with a berry compote. My favorite dessert of the evening. - Pot de creme - thick, almost frosting-consistency cream topped with berries and crunchy topping. This was almost too much sweetness and I think that a slightly lighter consistency would have been nice, but I still ate more than my share In addition to a varied menu, they have a fine selection of beers, wines, cocktails, sakes, and Japanese whiskey. Our server was quite friendly and helpful. We were allowed plenty of time to chat after our meal, and we ended up being the last party to leave the dining room. It was a lovely evening and dinner, and we're looking forward to a return visit to try some of their other offerings.

I used to frequent Poseidon--mostly for lunch, sometimes for dinner, and a few times for takeout…read more One evening in the summer, I stopped in to order takeout. The young woman at the desk was engaged in a conversation with her friend. Both were about 17-19. I stood patiently waiting for quite a while. Finally I spoke up and said "May I see the takeout menu?" She handed one to me, and went back to her conversation. The "friend" sneered at me and moved so that she was blocking me from the register. I couldn't believe it. After a while I looked at the employee and finally said "Oh hey, I am ready to order." She glanced up and nodded. But went back to listening to her "friend." At this point I walked up to the register and said "Excuse me but I'd like to order." The "friend" GLARED at me, spitting venom from every pore. Then she launched into a TIRADE. I ignored her and placed my order. I won't lie though, I was fn shaking. Here I am, a middle-aged woman who's endured some trauma and BS in my life and come out on the other side, and this nasty little B is taking me on?! She continued to glare at me the entire time I was there waiting for my food, up to and including when I walked out the door. It was APPALLING. How no one got involved is just disgusting. I spoke to an employee and asked for the manager/owner. She said they weren't there. I left my name and number and asked for a call back. Heard nothing. The food is OK--not worth abuse. I never went back to Poseidon.

We came here with a Saturday night reservation for the Kotobuki Omakase option. The team at Naoki sushi all works very well together and the entire experience was super special and went very smoothly. I love the simple atmosphere and decor, it is relaxing, bright and very authentically Japanese. There wasn't a single thing that wasn't delicious in its own way. This place is small and intimate with only 8 sushi bar seats and 8 table seats. A great vibe and ambiance to watch your sushi chef expertly prepare your meal. Unfortunately, a couple decided to bring their small children that were talking very loudly and had occasional screams. There is a place and time to bring your kids dining and fine dining isn't one of them. Our favorite appetizer was the chanwanmushi! They packed so much umami into such a small dish and the texture of the egg was like silken tofu. My husbands favorite piece of nigiri was the otoro as the tuna was so fatty and just melted in your mouth. Mine was the uni spoon which was a small dish of uni, ikura, caviar, and rice. The hand rolls were a highlight too! After the 6 courses are done you're able to order ala carte and I'm so glad I got an ikura hand roll. Service is impeccable and everyone was very kind and thoughtful. Overall a great experience and an omakase spot we would come back to.
