Meeting up with an old colleague, we found a place in the middle between us. I picked this place at random and it didn't disappoint. The woman who made our drinks seemed like she might be the owner, as her service and welcoming attitude made us feel very welcome. The food was delicious and the service was fast. Seafood and spinach dumplings: Light and crispy with a tasty filling. Probably the best dish we tried. Singapore Mei Fun: Shrimp and Chicken with onions, it was ok. Shrimp Ho Fun: Thick noodles in a savory sauce with shrimp. Also ok. Walnut Shrimp: Medium to large size shrimp with walnuts in a savory sauce. It was fine but my wife prefers the sweet sauce to savory. Tofu Hunan style with pork: Big tofu triangles in a savory sauce with pork and vegetables. A little kick to it. Food was ready when I arrived and payment was friendly and quick. Parking is streetside in Media and it took me a while to find a space. Lovely lunch on a Sunday. Nice little restaurant on state street. Menu includes everything from sushi to dim sum and then some. The atmosphere is very calm and open with nice service. We tried multiple items and really loved the shrimp lettuce wraps and spring rolls. Sushi was very good. The hot and sour soup was loaded with great ingredients and flavor. Nothing spectacular about the food. Honestly, I'd much rather head to a hole-in-the-wall takeout joint. Portions were not great for the high pricing. You'd get a bigger bang for your buck at a normal takeout. Sure, the place is clean. The service was friendly-ish, but the waiter took our leftovers and I wasn't able to take them home. Sad! I have been going to Peking for many years now. They do not disappoint. They offer authentic Chinese and Japanese food at fair prices and a beautiful sushi bar. This is always my request for my birthday takeout and New Year's Eve as well. This past time I shared a house one time for two along with sake martinis while I was waiting for takeout. the wait staff was very welcoming as usual and was very skilled delivering a full martini to the brim. I am very confused why this is only 3.6 stars! This is one of the best restaurants I've ever eaten at! I've tried their Kung Pao Chicken, egg rolls, hot and sour soup, pork fried rice, chicken and broccoli, ginger dressing salad, and miso soup. Everything is 10/10, does not disappoint. The place is a lovely, fair priced chinese/Japanese/sushi place. The service was superb, friendly and attentive. Portion sizes were generous, with complimentary pickled cucumber and roasted shelled peanuts with a touch of spice. Everything was good from the soup, pot stickers and entrees. They have a great and inexpensive lunch menu so I will be trying that soon. One thing that would have made it perfect? A hot pot of tea for the table! read more

Their menu also broad like other Asian restaurants, includes variety of dishes with beef pork duck, chicken, seafood and vegetables. We put in a take order with them. The order was prepared within estimated half an hour time. We liked the beef dishes, thin noodles. Triple crown (shrimp, scallop, chicken) was also good. The royal crown duck was disappointing. It was on the dryer side, not enough seasoning on it. The pancake was deep fried too much. They were very generous with us, gave us lots of side dishes, utensils and fortune cookies. We came here for dinner. It was very good! We were able to find parking right out front. The interior is very cool. Each table is its own little room. Such cool decor! I got an egg roll to start. It was really good. Nice fat roll with mini shrimp. Best egg roll I've had since I moved south. For some reason egg rolls in the south are just not the same. For my main course I got the spicy beef and shrimp. The shrimp were really big and the beef was very good. I really enjoyed the sauce this was in. I did not find it to be spicy at all. I would definitely get it again but maybe ask them to make it a little spicier. Service was great. Menu is huge with lots of sushi and both Chinese and Japanese fare. Toro was questionable, The owner was nice enough but cannot deal with the questionable Toro! Had to send it back and leave. The toro (Tuna) $14 per piece didn't appear to have it Suzuka fresh texture as if it had some how been preserved or frozen thawed and then prepared . Not the freshness of fresh high end toro. We prefer the ambience here to other Asian restaurants in Media. It's quieter and dining tables have more space. You can make a reservation so you don't have to wait. If you are sensitive to noise, this is definia more comfortable space. There's background music but it's more soothing. The food is always good, maybe a little expensive but for us the ambience makes it worth it. There are vegetarian options. The wait staff are very attentive and polite, which is also appreciated. read more

Context: ordered takeout on a Thursday lunch from their Chinese Menu in speaking chinese using a coupon $25 off a $125 order. Your miles may vary Got a bunch of dishes from the menu posted on yelp's menu pictures that they may no longer technically have in the menu. Sichuan boiled fish (水煮鱼): kinda bland, not intense enough flavor Sichuan beef tripe (夫妻肺片). Note that this is different from the szechuan beef on their takeout menu: phenomenal! Wow was this a surprise. Very authentic. Spicy, cilantro on top, peanuts. Just a pure 10/10 dish Twiced cooked pork: also incredible. More saucy than I would have liked but the flavor is 100% on point. I can probably eat this every day. Shredded pork in spicy garlic sauce (鱼香肉丝): also very good. 8.5/10 flavor was mostly there but would have preferred a little more spice. High recommend. Mandarin steak (with spring pancakes): this was just okay. Not bad but I personally wouldn't order it again. I've had much better elsewhere. Emperor's pork chop (from their previous menu that is now something else): this was pretty bad imo. Don't get this. Too americanized and sweet Eggplant with garlic sauce: 10/10 on point. Highly recommend Broccoli with garlic sauce: not gonna lie at this point it's just the same sauce just different vegetable. Their sauce is good but just get the eggplant one. All dishes come with rice. I believe the only ones that you can find on their takeout menu is their eggplant, broccoli, shredded pork, twice cooked pork, mandarin steak This restaurant definitely has way too many items available and not all are good. However, their chef is definitely capable of making some great dishes. If you can't speak chinese, just order their twice cooked pork, make some rice at home and you can probably eat that for 2-3 meals. They have a combo platter with that too. If you can speak chinese, I highly recommend their beef tripe (fu qi fei pian). The combination of incredible value, and authentic flavor gives this restaurant a 5/5. read more

We have gotten take out from here during the pandemic, and thought it was decent. We dined in for the first time today, and we are thoroughly impressed. First of all, the complimentary dishes were chilled marinated cucumbers and salted roasted peanuts. This was a Margaret Kuo's tradition and I think they even perfected the cucumbers because we asked for another and finished both plates. The owner bought the restaurant from Margaret Kuo who had previously been there for thirty some years. I had an Asian Pear Saketini. The drink was nice and strong just how I like it. I would have just added a garnish, or a pear slice into the martini glass to make it look more presentable. I would order it again! Off of the menu, we ordered a typical Szechuan appetizer with beef slices, tendon, and stomach lining in chili oil. The peanuts in the dish were fresh. The flavor was authentic and excellent. We ordered Taiwanese Fishball Soup. We got an extra Fujianese Fishball which has pork in the center, and which was actually more fresh than the Taiwanese fishballs! The broth tasted great, just like the way our mom's made it with white pepper and celery. They even added pea leaves, which is a generous addition. Next came the Oshinko (Japanese pickles) sushi rolls. The seaweed could have been a better quality. They were not crispy at all, and were cut too short, so did not close. However, the amount of oshinko put inside was generous. The pickled ginger was also great to taste. The Beef (Chow Fun) Stir Fried Wide Rice Noodles was a very good standard to pass. It was not too oily or salty. It was certainly on point. I also asked for a dish with tofu and fish, so they custom made a dish for us with Chilean sea bass and tofu. They fried both items and added a light sauce to it over Chinese broccoli. It was delectable and also great to have with white rice. Our last dish was flash fried chili popcorn chicken. This was the only dish we did not enjoy, which I honestly and politely reported. There was too much breading and not enough chicken. It was crispy and the flavor was correct, however I just could not get enough chicken even in the big bits. However, this was also off the menu and the owner just decided they could make it for us since it is my husband's favorite dish. We later chatted with the owner, Linda at the end of dinner and she told how grateful she was for letting us know since she would not have a way of knowing how to improve. She is a lovely person and we could hear her warm heart as she served each table. Two other constructive criticism I have are: there was a crack on the lamp above my table, the lights around the whole room occasionally flickered, and the number of paper towels that dispensed from the ladies room was a little much. The ambiance was not any different from when it was Margaret Kuo's of Media. I would definitely go back bringing my neighbors and friends especially for Dining Under the Stars in the summer time. I would love to chat with the owner some more because she was truly a beautiful person and hard working single mom. I would also try some more dishes, cocktails, and sashimi on and off the menu. I am grateful that this restaurant is in my local area. read more

Our family of six adults had a last-minute cancellation for a local sushi restaurant and someone mentioned trying Peking. Wow - are we glad we did. We have dinner at least once a week on State Street and this will be our new go to place. First, Linda was amazing - super friendly. She is the co-owner and she couldn't do enough for us. Second, sushi was some of the freshest sushi we ever had. We ordered based on Linda's recommendations and every roll was better than the next. Third, others in our group ordered meals, large menu for both Chinese and Japanese offerings. Everyone raved about their meals, and everyone agreed the chicken fried rice was the best any of us ever had. Fourth, though we do love BYOBs, the wine offered was excellent and very reasonable. We will be back many more times.....this will now be our new go to place in Media. read more
