Petite fillet.
Steven S.

Haven't been here in quite some time. I wanted a steak, we were going somewhere else, but saw the this, and changed it up. Obviously no reservation, but we only waited two minutes for a quiet table in a back dinning room. Bottom line, my petite filet totally hit the spot. It was cooked perfectly and very tasty. I had the house salad with the house dressing and mashed potatoes as my sides. The wife had a strip and said it was very good. A great spur of the moment dinner.

Held a business dinner here tonight and everyone was very complimentary of the food and ambience. Service was great too. Jim's Place never disappoints.

My teacher retired club
Dianna S.

Ventured out to Collierville Tuesday for my retired teacher club. 13 of us dined in for lunch. We also had a gift exchange as we waited for our food. Service was awesome from the onset of planning this luncheon. Jay and Kristy were so patient as our reservation and numbers kept fluctuating. They were so nice to adjust as we went along. Chris and Drew were our waiters. They were super busy but took good care of all of us. The decor of the restaurant is so stylish and cozy. It is quite large with different areas for private dining. Everyone was so nice and kind. I ordered the club sandwich which was massive! I ended up taking half of it home because I ordered calamari for the table. The club came with a choice of sides. I got spinach which was light and seasoned well. The calamari was excellent. The remoulade sauce was spicy and complemented the squid very well. There were also fried green tomatoes with the dish. The calamari was fried to perfection and overall so delicious. I forgot to take a oic of the calamari. Oops! I will definitely return to try other entrees and dishes.

Screen blocking the fire exit.

It was mostly fine. The oysters were good but gumbo was cold. The biggest thing is that they had the fire exit blocked with a screen that is a violation of the fire code.

The service is outstanding - super friendly and accommodating, never wanting for a thing. If you haven't tried them, please do so - I don't think you will be disappointed. See pics for proof.

Lane 24 for 1 hour, 3 pairs of shoes for $30.00. I thought this was very reasonable. I'm not really sure what the price breakdown was for the lanes and the shoes, but I kind of expected 30 for the hour and more for shoes. The equipment, whatever its called, however it works, performed properly, and we didn't lose any of our time we paid for waiting for malfunctions to be corrected. When I got there,I wanted beer. There happened to be a line that seemed to take forever, there were two bartenders, but the good news is that I was able to buy 3 beers at once, and I was given a bucket of ice, so I never had to wait in the line again. The weird thing is, the bartender thought it necessary to remove all the beer caps at once. They checked my id and gave me a wrist band, which I suspect is a way to prevent a purchaser from sharing with underage teens. Or rather,a way to catch underage drinkers. The arcade was very antiquated. There is a photo booth that charges 3 bucks for a single picture. I thought these were obsolete. Who wants a 3 dollar selfie????? The arcade also was small. There were a couple games not working which took our money. There are signs saying you are shit out of luck losing money to a machine that steals because they don't own the machines. This is such BS. I bet they own the money that goes into the machines. Besides, someone owns the machines. Actually I really don't care who owns what, the bottom line is that if there are machines that only take money and do not perform, it is basically theft to leave them open to the public and deny any responsibility without even removing the machine from service. The arcade was also too small and the games were old. There is a bar that is separated from the rest of the building for the grown ups to hang out in. Bad thing is, this would be perfect for smokers, but sorry, not allowed. There was an armed security guard. Don't know how much protection he could actually provide, or if he is actually full time, but there was no sign on the door restricting citizens from carrying their own weapons. I drank three beers. I was unarmed. But I would be willing to bet there were at least a dozen firearms inside. I was able to feel comfortable having children and an infant. I think the guy bowling next to us had something under his shirt. I look forward to returning another night. We did not try the skating. It's been over 20 years, but it does sound fun.

Staff was disengaged. I didn't even touch the food considering everything else I saw. The half-finished paint job that's been there for over 8 months mixed with the 90s food court cup colors really made me feel at home. I also appreciated the broken arms on the chairs, and the random half booth and table. The bar felt like a Mexican restaurant. And don't get me started on the worst Spotify-free music playlist I've ever heard. It was vulgar, completely no-name artists, and was just depressing. Top notch ceiling tiles too. Sagging, torn, or covered in mold. Drive to Bartlett. This place is a Gutterball.

I went in with my food critics hat on and was open about the fact that I was evaluating the restaurant. The server, who was also the bartender, Miguel, was over the top friendly. He guaranteed that the food would be better than I hoped and authentic. He explained that the owners were from Metarie, Louisiana and that they brought the flavor with them. I ordered country fried steak with brown gravy, fried okra and steamed broccoli with extra butter. I asked for a cup of the jambalaya as an appetizer for good measure. First the jambalaya was some of the best I have ever had. It was flavorful, fragrant, hot and the rice was perfectly cooked. Not to be taken lightly is the phrase "best I ever had". I have traveled and it's not just the best in this area, but better than that I have had in all of my travels to Louisiana and the gulf states. The okra was seasoned perfectly, hot and tasted fresh not frozen. Another score. The broccoli looked like it might have been the loser on the table as I didn't see the extra butter I requested, but I tried it. The butter was all over it already and it was very very well seasoned. I was shocked. Actually shocked. Do you know how many restaurants get this wrong? Far far more than get it right. And it was right. The country fried steak was also no slouch. The breading was crunchy, seasoned and not over or under cooked. The gravy was able to accompany the dish without making it soggy and the item did not come to my table dripping with pan grease. Yet another win. I met the owner on my way out and complimented her restaurant's service and food. I will definitely be back and will recommend the place to all who ask. The days where restaurants were grateful to have you as patron & treated you that way to earn your continued patronage, seem to be part of the good ole days gone by. That is not the case with The Skybox Grill. I went once on a weekday & once on a hopping Friday night. Both times I left full & happy. If you're into that "Cheers" feeling, this is your place. The staff is so welcoming & kind. You feel good being there with the lively atmosphere & great people all around & the delicious food puts it a step above the rest. On the weekday lunch visit, I saw moms & kids, families, business men/women, folks at the bar glued to the game & those sitting by theirselves with their newspaper as their companion. All appeared to be welcome & content. The prices are comparable with others, but the quality & consistency of their food is much better. The portions are large enough to share or take home leftovers for another meal. The fresh made food is so yummy & getting fresh, quality food for the same as you'd spend at a fast food joint these days, makes it the perfect spot to have a great meal or grab to go that's a cut above the rest. Often, they host fundraising events in support of the local communities or have fun bands & always there is more than 15 tvs with all the sports going. Somehow, they're able to have everything in one, that works so completely cohesively. It's the perfect go to for brunch, lunch, dinner or a lively date night out. Wether you're the whole family full of kids, a lady lunching with friends, a guy grabbing a quick lunch, a couple on a date night or a whole group of friends meeting up for a night out, this place is perfect. Super safe and just minutes outside of Memphis, it's not only a gem for the Collierville folks, but easily accessible for the whole Memphis area. Perfect for taking out of town guest for a relaxed & casual dining experience too. Highly recommend. You will not be disappointed!

We also had to use napkins to dry our bread plates because they were dripping wet. Our shrimp appetizer came out and we asked for silverware. None was brought. Our salad came out shorty thereafter. We asked for silverware again. It was brought several minutes later. We then had a 30 minute wait between our salad and our entree. During this time we never saw our server.
