    Butcher's Bacon Rack
    Taurin H.

Just an ok place for a steakhouse, nothing upscale as advertised. I don't know if I went on the wrong night but it wasn't my type of crowd. Sweatsuits and gaudy clothes from the patrons took away from the ambiance. We had the bacon rack to start; it could have used some more time cooking because it was soft and chewy. We left early due to the boisterous tables that were seated that evening. Our server was awesome though. I MIGHT give them another try.

    Broccolini was overcooked

Seems like this may have been an off day because I heard it was good. The food and service was inconsistent from the front of the house to the food reaching the table. The bacon rack all taste the same all of the sides were over cooked. Asked for a cocktail menu was provided a brunch menu. Front of the house someone asked who was next after people checked in with reservations didn't seem like there was a system. Will not be revisiting.

Quick review: I would eat here again. Now to the details. The atmosphere is really nice. It is dark but manageable. The wait staff I have no complaints. Perfect 10/10. We had reservations for 2 at 530- so not a super busy time. Food came out really quick. I ordered a lemon martini that was nice. The husband ordered a neat bourbon. Oysters chargrilled- would not order again and once of the reasons not 5 stars. We ordered half a dozen and two weren't really cooked all the way and just lacked any other flavor. Wedge salads 10/10 Rolls 10/10 Both ordered ribeyes- they are a little thin for my preference but cooked decent. 7/10. Real heavy handed on the pepper but overall liked the taste. Broccolini 8/10 needed a little more seasoning

This was my first time at Ember and Oak Prime, I went around 4:30ish and was able to eat my meal on the patio. I do recommend you make a reservation but it was just me so I was okay with the patio view. My waitress Bailey was very friendly and helpful. She gave me her top picks of what she loved on the menu and I ordered accordingly. The first thing I had was a tequila sunrise mocktail. Very summery and fruity. The bread was amazing, I received two pieces of fresh warm bread with the option of honey butter or strawberry butter. I had both just to try them out. My favorite was the honey butter, I ate the bread so fast and wanted to eat the butter with a spoon. For my main course I had the Atlantic salmon with Mac and cheese, broccolini and fried green tomatoes. Everything was 10/10 the only thing was the card machine was down and I had to wait longer to check out but eventually I went to the bank to get cash to pay my bill.

Mac and cheese. My friend said the previous recipe was more tasty with shredded cheeses.

Came here for the first time last night. We shared the appetizers. Mac and cheese, Fried shrimp and Calamari. Nice portions and very tasty. We had the Elijah Craig old fashioned's. I was very impressed. They use an oak barrel to age the pre-made cocktail. It gave it so much flavor, added body and profile to the nose and palate. I highly recommend it. I have not had an old fashioned this delicious anywhere.

My wife and I both enjoyed our steaks here. They were perfectly cooked and wonderfully tender and flavorful. She had a small fillet and I had a ribeye. The only issues I had, but they are not enough to keep me from going back, was that the blue cheese vinaigrette was way too vinegary, and the sautéed broccolini/rapini I got with my steak was really overcooked. Instead of being a nice bright green color and crunchy texture, they were yellowish green and mushy. I know next time not to order either of these things, but we still would go back and we enjoyed our experience. The waitress and the greeters at the front door were all extremely friendly and helpful.

Let me tell y'all how the food was so amazing I forgot to take a picture lol The lamb chops and smashed potatoes were on point! Our server was amazing, the staff is amazing. The atmosphere is amazing. The whole experience amazing!

I had the opportunity to visit Ember and Oak and I must say that I'm glad that I did. Their ribeye is one of the best that I have ever had. I highly recommend Ember and Oak for any occasion.

Pros: Great customer service Good cocktails Fresh grilled oysters Good size portions Cons: Advertised as fine dining. However, it is not . There is no fine dining dress code , ambiance or linen on the wood tables Very low quality steak The king crab came out half frozen.. they took the dish back and put it in the microwave..the server said she would comp the item but only took 15 percent off .

The food was great. The waiter we had was amazing. I think his name was Brad but if we go back we definitely have to try to get a seat in his section because he was awesome.

First time dining at Ember & Oak Prime & it didn't disappoint! The food was a 10/10 & the service was as well. Emma was so kind & made sure we had everything we needed. Mr. Les came by to say hello & check on us as well. Will definitely be back!

This place caught me off guard. I wasn't expecting of all places Mississippi to be a destination…read morefor Ramen. My confirmation bias says the Memphis area is a barren of good food. Well...I guess I was proven wrong. So I dropped my trailer off at Amazon MEM1, input the coordinates onto my Tractor GPS, and my Garmin 800 rejected the request...."Commercial Truck Restrictions All the way." And what did I do? I said f*ckit. I'm taking that risk. Probably the best Risk Reward experience I've had in ages. Every inch of my route towards this Ramen Pilgrimage was plagued by Traffic Signs reading, "No Semi-Trucks $1000.00 fine." And I just want to thank law enforcement between Memphis & South Haven for not busting me for craving a rich bowl of Tonkotsu delight. So what did I discover here? It was like walking into an enchanted Studio Ghibli scene. The hanging charms, the lush greenery, and lighting complimenting the earth tones, the holy sh*t they have PopCorn Chicken & Milk Tea here @@! Felt like I'm back in Taiwan with this fusion of Japanese & Taiwanese Food Culture. There wasn't even a college town nearby and this added more to my culture shock--- of all places... Mississippi. If you guys are still with me at this point, the Kyuramen x TBar in Southhaven wasn't the first location recommended to me by Yelp; I was actually planning on visiting the location in Santa Anita Mall in Arcadia California, BUT like Rayasianboy likes to quote on his live streams, "Goddid." The planets align, they sent me and my rig to South Haven. Alright not gonna ramble anymore, let me get to the verdict: Service: 10/10 Ambiance: 10/10 Food: 10/10 For a franchise, this place has QA down to the tee. Over the years I've for the majority of the time whenever I'm out of state, would patronize Jinya Ramen--been to their Denver Union Station locations, Chandler Arizona, Salt Lake City, one of the earliest times was in Vegas, and basically their brand set the tone for what a Franchise ramen could be. And yes, I could taste the lengthy hours here at Kyuramen that were put in to slow cook the richness out of the pork bones; the portions were measured just right so you can savor the soup, the noodles **al dente**, the egg silky custard like, the Chasu **melt in your mouth** and not feel overwhelmed with the entire ensemble. The karaage chicken/ Taiwanese pop-corn chicken was exploding with moisture, it had the right characteristics of popcorn chicken, crispy light with tapioca starch layered on the outside, marinated in 5 spices, and fried to perfection with the right tenderness. The tea was excellent, and the Yakitori platter---- executed surprisingly well. And when you put together the entire experience....Shin-Sen-Gumi Alhambra California needs to pick up some slack because this little joint in the middle of nowhere puts some California Izakayas to shame. So yes, I'd recommend anyone across the state of Tennessee, Mississippi and Alabama, all the Japanese execs at Toyota Plant, Nissan Plant and Yuki Kawamura to come and make their pilgrimage....oh wait Yuki signed with the Chicago Bulls, nvm, but yes everyone besides Yuki. これで終わります Kore de owarimasu じゃあね Jaa ne 改天再會!

There was music playing the whole time but not loud at all - loud enough you could hear it but it didn't impede upon your conversations in the slightest. And by the way the music they had playing last night (Tuesday Feb 10 2026) was EXCELLENT!! I felt like I was at a bar from my youth with that soundtrack. We started with 2 appetizers, pub pretzels and the Celtic queso dip. The pretzels came with honey mustard and some of the queso. The Celtic queso has tortillas and what appeared to be house made potato chips. Both were very good! The 2 adults had some beer on tap. A Yeungling and a 201 Hoplar. Kid (well he is 21 but doesn't drink) had a coke. Entrees were a smash burger with fries, a Buffalo chicken sliders with onion rings, and a shepherds pie with mashed potatoes and gravy and okra. Everything was very good! Often fried things are either over or under done and come out not great however whoever was working the fryer was on it because the onion didn't pull out of the rings when you bit it and the okra was still nice inside the breading. But I was super impressed with the quality of the food! I expected a dive. And it is. But the food was fabulous!! Also, our waitress was excellent. Kudos to her. The inside is fun. Definite dive bar energy. We went all in. Appetizers, drinks, entrees. I regret nothing. We started with the queso appetizer and the pub pretzels. Both were very tasty. My one and only critique is that I wished the queso appetizer included some veggies like celery or carrots or something other than just chips. My son ordered the smash burger. Husband got the shepherds pie. I got the buffalo sliders. I like my buffalo chicken to be saucy. So I requested extra sauce. The kitchen seemed to misunderstand and instead of extra saucy, they put my sauce on the side and none on the chicken. Our waitress offered to send it back. That was not necessary. So she brought me lots of extra sauce. Incredible. The sauce was excellent. The chicken was excellent!!! Superb quality. Honestly, quite possibly the highest quality piece of chicken I've had on a chicken sandwich. Tender, moist, flavorful, and a large piece of meat. Very very impressed. I got the onion rings, at the suggestion of our waitress. They were fantastic. Washed it all down with a Yuengling. Truly, I can't say enough about this place. I was highly impressed. Most of the other customers appeared to be regulars who were seated at the bar. There were only a few groups seated at traditional tables. It was a Tuesday evening so I'm sure it's much busier on a Friday or Saturday. Oh - and just as we were leaving, they were setting up for karaoke. Apparently Tuesdays are karaoke night. Oh! And! The check was $77. That's with three beers, a Coke, two appetizers, three entrees! Not bad. Not bad at all!!
