The restaurant honored our reservation as soon as we arrived and we were seated promptly. The server also came to us very quickly and took our drink orders. We placed our orders and the first hiccup occurred with the delivery of my salad. I had requested no croutons and had requested the extra cheese which has a surcharge. The salad arrived with croutons, but no cheese. The next hiccup was the delivery of my dad's and my steak. We had ordered both our cuts rare, but what was delivered to the table was medium rare at best. The waitress had the general manager come by and he agreed the steaks were not cooked as ordered. The kitchen cooked new steaks, which were delivered with fresh baked potatoes. These steaks were excellent. When the bill came, the cheese surcharge was on the bill and there wasn't any type of accommodation for the miss cooked steaks which required my dad and I to eat after our dining companions were close to being done. The waitress promptly removed the surcharge and the dinner ended well. Restaurants occasionally mess up, so no harm no foul. I would have thought however with the price points of the steaks we ordered that the restaurant might have at a minimum offered a dessert on them. We have now eaten there three times. The first time was bad. The second time was great. This time was very good. So I would say give them a try. We read about Marshall forever ago online. We had wanted to stop by while driving from MO to MS. We finally did and it was worth the detour from our usual route. Service was fantastic with the biggest side of hospitality. I did not expect our night to be Italian night. The server helped us choose a dish from that menu to share and we ordered the ribeye. My wife got the shrimp and grits, and let me tell you, she couldn't stop talking about how good it was. The service was friendly, the atmosphere was just right, and everything came out hot and fresh. This stop requires just a couple of miles off the interstate and a backtrack to get back on the interstate. The reviews looked to be good so we stopped! We've been on the coast and had fish all week so a good steak sounded good! The grounds are awesome - they include outdoor areas for dining, an outdoor play area - a large area that looks to be good for a festival or dance party. There are outdoor decorative lights hanging through the trees to add to the yard ambience. The porch is large and inviting with rocking chairs and games. There is a playground area outside the restaurant too. The smell coming off the porch as you enter the property is divine. The smell of beef being prepared over an open coal fire was just wonderful. Their meats are hand carved from what they describe as the top 1% premium beef in the US. They have twice earned the best steak of the year in Mississippi. The service was friendly and quick. The choices were varied and offered beef and seafood. The place is friendly for families, kids included and a couple could also have a nice dinner to celebrate a special occasion. The French Onion Soup, the rolls with butter and the house salad with homemade ranch dressing were all outstanding. The rolls were soft and hot and similar to the Parker house roll but softer with a nice golden color and just hint of firmness without being too much. The French onion soup came out in a hot cup straight from the ovens the entire time I ate the soup - it never stopped steaming! It was perfect with a good topping of cheese and nice base of caramelized onions and croutons with a salty onion soup base. We had two entrees - one was a 7ounce filet cooked medium well and a baked potato with sour cream and butter. The steak was cooked perfectly and was delicious. The potato was a great consistency and served piping hot. We had a ground top sirloin steak cooked well done with caramelized onions on the top and Marsala mushroom sauce. I don't remember ever having a better steak than the 150z Prime Rib at Marshall Steakhouse. Over the years I've had the pleasure of enjoying steaks at Old Homestead, Sparks, Ruth Chis, III Forks, Sullivans and Smith & Wollensky's, to name a few. Last night, Marshall Steakhouse beat them all in my opinion. We drove two hours and fifteen minutes from Skullbone Tennessee (Gibson County) to try this establishment and we will be doing so periodically going forward. Our reservation was for 6:00pm on a Saturday evening. We arrived at 5:45pm and were already seated at 5:48pm. By 6:07pm we had already ordered and received our drinks and appetizers. Our dinner order was placed. By 6:15 we had received our main course. We were finished and paid at 6:48pm. We weren't rushed whatsoever. I was impressed this business could seat and serve this quality of food to so many and so quickly and efficiently. A well oiled business operation in my book. The venue is excellent. It is the kind of place that makes you feel at home. The ambiance is very relaxing, cordial and fun. Excellent menu and full service bar. The staff and the service were friendly and professional. Our server, Sean, was very knowledgeable, and attentive to our requests. We appreciated Sean's work. The proprietor, Randall Swaney is a gracious host that visited every guest and thanked them for coming out. Just an excellent host. Stopped in on a Tuesday night expecting steakhouse food and it's Italian night based in Grissanti food which we knew was good! The staff and proprietor were super friendly who knew the menu well and which were able to share their favorite menu items. This rustic nostalgia was weird for Italian food which is on par for steakhouse nights. The music was different too for the motifs of the master room and tables. Drove across town to try a sought after restaurant in the neighboring state for my husband's birthday. We made reservations for 6:00 on a Friday night. The place was hopping and they were using their overflow parking lot, but we were sat almost immediately with little to no wait. The restaurant has an old barn vibe which is super cool and laid back. They have lots of large tables to accommodate big parties and they often set two parties on opposite ends of the table which is what we did for our party of three. Janice was our server and she was AWESOME! Super kind lady who explained everything thoroughly to us as it was our first time at the establishment. While we all enjoyed our steaks, the sides were just mediocre and there was an up charge for almost everything. The four stars verses 5 is simply for the up-charges. I feel like if you are paying the price for a decent steak, you shouldn't be asked to pay almost five dollars to put bacon and cheese on a salad and four dollars extra for Mac and cheese or potato casserole. With that being said, my filet was amazing and the garlic herb butter is really something special. We definitely enjoyed the whole experience. We ended the night with their white chocolate blueberry bread pudding topped with caramel sauce which is super rich and very tasty! read more

After passing this spot while driving down 22/78, my husband and I decided to give this a try for date night. I secured reservations for us at 7pm. After getting off the Red Banks Rd exit, you drive about 3 miles down the road and then stumble upon tons of cars outside of a large building. We sat for a few minutes before anyone came by. I was totally okay with that seeing that they were extremely busy. Our server was very friendly and offered a few suggestions. I decided to go with the filet and my husband tried the ribeye. We received our Caesar salads, which were hearty portions. The salads were loaded with Caesar dressing and a bit overwhelming. I will be sure to request my dressing on the side the next tine. My filet was seasoned to perfection and the flavor was amazing. Unfortunately, it was overcooked and a bit dry. My husband was extremely pleased with his ribeye which actually was undercooked (I think the requests were mixed up.) I loved the fact that the manager went around the restaurant and checked in with all patrons and even took the time to snap a few pics. He was great! Overall, we enjoyed it. A new and amazing steakhouse find! In my quest to try all of the steak, I stopped at Marshall to give it a try. It's been voted best steak in Mississippi so since I've tried Doe's I thought I'd see if it really was. We started with a dozen oysters which were large, fresh and delicious. For dinner I had the 7oz filet and loaded baked potato. Being a steak lover, I wasn't really sure that the small filet would be enough (they have a 10oz) but as usual my steak eyes are bigger than my stomach. With the oysters and potato it was plenty of food. The steak was seasoned perfectly (more seasoning than most places and not just with salt) and was a really great cut. They top it with an herb butter that was perfect. The service is stellar and the owner comes by to every table to check in on you. They also take photos of the customers for their Facebook page so check that out before you go to get the look and feel of the place. It's very rustic and if you like you can take your photo in front of a giant bear. I'll be back and next time I'll save room for dessert read more

I decided to finally try Marshall's Steakhouse after hearing many people brag about the steak quality. It was a 40 min drive for me and my boyfriend. Nothing fancy about the ambiance, it gave deep country vibes upon driving up and entering the establishment. The server was super friendly and on point. We ordered dang dang shrimp, crab n lobster bisque with 2 ribeye steaks cooked medium. The shrimp were too similar to the panko shrimp I but from Costco with bang bang sauce. They were good but not original. The bisque was not bad but nothing to rave about. The steaks are where my huge disappointment came, hence my 2 star review. My steak came well done and tough as leather. My boyfriend steak was cooked medium rare/medium so he just went with it however it was also tough for a ribeye. The manager came over and once I told him about the incorrect temperature on my steak, he immediately rectified it but preparing another steak at the right temperature. The problem with this steak, it was tough as leather even cooked at medium temperature. I kept looking at the shape of the steak and the non existent marbling and figured out the theybgave us a cheaper cut, NY strip, which is usually tougher and has the fat strip down one side. I'm very disappointed that we paid for a ribeye, $57 per steak, and were bamboozled with a much cheaper and less tasty strip steak. We will not be returning. read more

Excellent visit from start to finish. Good quick service from server, she was able to answer a couple questions we had. Inside is very country-esque (if that's a word?)
