Apparently thisbplacebis back to its original location ....kinda out by itself in OB. Worth the drive. Still close for me. I order catfish and shrimp with okra and mac n cheese. I got the sides to take home but the seafood was served fresh, hot and flavorful. It wasnt busy but they were setting up for live music and a party of 25. We went on a Saturday around 3:30 only five cars in parking lot so we went in and had to wait to be seated. When the lady came to seat us she was grumpy and said she was by herself. I asked was she also cooking trying to break the tension and she said no. We noticed no one was eating and when we tried to give her our drink order as well as our food order she told us no she couldn't remember the order just give her the drink order and she would come back to take the order. So we just left feeling it might be a bad experience going forward. This is not the first time we have experienced bad service. The food was really good when it was at the old location but I would say the food is just average at best. I hate to see a home town place go down but this one seems to be failing. read more

I've been a customer since the restaurant was on 305, south of hwy78. the food was amazing. In the past three years after Covid, it's not as good. I often order the grilled chicken breasts. Before 2021, they were always seasoned to perfection, crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. Definitely delicious! Now, they are still seasoned and crispy on the outside, but dry and chewy. I have ordered the grilled chicken breasts several times, hoping to get the juicy and tender version. Hasn't happened. I now go much less often, and when I go there, I order something else. read more

Stopped here with my kids for lunch around 12:30 on a Tuesday. Looks like a hole-in-the-wall in a building connected to a small church. Interior was a little odd, with what looked like both permanent tables and chairs and temporary plastic tables and chairs. Lots of Christian artwork for sale on the walls. We had the chicken fried steak and southern chicken parmesan with creamed corn, fried okra, and green beans. We all enjoyed the creamed corn and fried okra, but the green beans didn't taste like much. The chicken fried steak was also great. The fried mushrooms were okay, but not memorable. Service was slow, and at one point, my daughter spilled her drink all over the table and me. We cleaned it up but no one came to check on us for about 15 minutes when they brought our food. I asked for some ranch dressing for the fried mushrooms and the table runner said "Ask your server". Our server finally came to our table - and through her comments it was apparent she knew we'd spilled drinks. She gave my daughter a bit of a lecture, which I'm sure some might find offensive. It feels like a place that primarily locals come to so they're used to the familiarity and everyone seemed to know everyone. This place is adorable. We ordered bacon cheeseburgers to go ($10 for each plate!) and they were soooo good. Generous portion of meat with 2 slices of cheese and several slices of thick bacon making a perfectly cooked juicy burger and crispy fries. The staff was extremely friendly and our meals were ready in under 20 minutes! There was live country music which I enjoyed listening to while I waited. Very disappointed... We chose Sweet Pea's to host our family dinner after my mother and step father's marriage. Prior to this event, my mother made arrangements ahead of time with the amount of people that would be attending. We had a section set for 35. However, we had a few more guests to arrive that did not RSVP which my mother confirmed (prior to the event) would not be a problem and overflow could occupy seats near us in another part of the restaurant. We had ONE server for a group of 40 people. When our food arrived, our waitress had ZERO help until I got up and helped her distribute the food. She also asked for my assistance with the drink orders. I have no idea where management was. It was like the staff did not care and our waitress was not friendly. Her frustration was evident and her attitude was horrible. She didn't even say "thank you" when I got up to assist her. Where was the rest of the staff? A few other waitresses appeared when we were checking out. There were 3 registers at the counter. Only one person was working a register and we all had to stand in a long line waiting to checkout while the rest of the staff just stood around and watched. I am shocked and appalled this place of business would treat guests this way. In fact, with a party this large, one would expect a little more courtesy and consideration for this life celebration. We are paying customers JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE. And, to top it off, we were assessed a "take out" charge in addition to 20% gratuity. I understand the gratuity due to the size of our party, but what was the take out fee for? I will never step foot in this restaurant again and will make it my personal mission for everyone to know how you treat "certain" guests. Not a welcoming environment AT ALL. read more

Last time I ate at SweetPea's was back in 2013 at other location. Got the fried catfish, greens and blk eye peas. Delish!!!!! Came back to newer location and got fried catfish, Mac/cheese, greens and sweet potato casserole!!! Wow!!! So good!!! Service was great, had to wait only 15 minutes for a table on a busy Thursday night around 7 pm. Will be back hopefully soon in that neck of the woods. I'm from Michigan. read more

Thanks to trusty Yelp, I found another food jewel. I was in Olive Branch on business and needed a quick meal. I checked Yelp and Sweet Pea's Table popped up at the top of the list. I knew it was a local institution, when I saw officers, and groups of families walking in as well as very few parking spaces available - even after the main lunch rush. There's a daily specials menu and then there's a made to order menu. I went with the daily special. Chicken strips. The server helped me pick out my sides: mac and cheese and mustard greens. I ordered the meal to-go and it was ready in 10 minutes. It was so delicious! Not salty, not bland. Just right. I remember saying "yummy" out loud, after the first bite. The only reason I didn't give them five stars is because I ordered sweet tea and they accidentally gave me unsweetened tea. I will go back in a heartbeat. One of the best meals ever! read more
