This is a sport's bar with plenty of flair. This entire area gets crowded so parking is scarce but this place has two private parking lots. The best thing about this place is that there are a ton of TVs and staff is friendly. They have a lot drink specials. I ordered the breakfast shot which was a shot of Jameison, butterscootch, oj, and slice of bacon. I ordered the wings, oysters, and catfish basket. I am not thrilled about oysters but the Rockafella oysters are cooked and loaded with spinach and cheese. The wings are great. We tried both the sweet and spicy and buffalo. Always delicious. Came on a Sunday night so it was more chill. Quick service. We had the Acadian Catfish plate with a nice sauce and corn and green beens and the Shrimp/Crawfish Étouffée with rice. Service was very slow, we ended up having to ask another waiter to let our waiter know we needed our check, had to request refills. However, our waiter was very polite! It just seemed to move very slow there. Food was just okay. The "Cajun queso" was lukewarm and tasted similar to regular white panchos cheese dip, but the seasoning on the tortilla chips was good! The debris sandwich was supposed to come with a sauce on it and it did not. The blackened chicken sandwich was not blackened (I suspect it was just grilled and there may have been a mix up) and it was supposed to have no cheese and honey mustard. There was cheese and no honey mustard. It tasted good enough though. We would have normally tried to correct our orders, but with the service being on the slow side, we decided to just live with it as the food was good enough! Had a great time for lunch Tuesday. Caught up with friends I had not seen in a long time. I ordered the Cajun salad with grilled shrimp. I had the vinegar and oil dressing. It was good and light. We decided to order the chargrilled oysters for appetizers. They were good but they almost overdid it with the cheese. It caused the oysters to be a tad salty. Next, we ordered the "classic" Zydeco Wings! They are always a hit. That coating of that sweet and hint of heat sauce is always stellar. If you ever decide to visit, these are a must! Ok so we were visiting and went to this place based on TikTok reviews. It wasn't bad but they oversold it. I am from Louisiana so I'm a bit picky on my food. For starters the jalapeño margarita was great, much better than the regular margarita and just leave the French 75 alone....this is not a French 75 establishment! The dip was ok, but a bit greasy and way too much cheese for my liking. The wings were good but eat them hot because they are breaded. I'm not a fan of breaded wings. The salad was crisp and the lettuce was fresh, again they can hold all the Parmesan. They must get a discount on cheese cause it way too much in every dish. We also had the oysters and I wouldn't get those again but again I live in LA where oysters are fresh and the taste is phenomenal. Overall not a bad chill spot and they had the game on. Just recently left and I typically love it, but I also never order this much. When we came it wasn't a long wait which was good. We got sat down quickly and received water. Our waitress was so sweet. When we ordered, we got two drinks, seafood dip, oysters, and wings. The food took so long to come out, we were trying not to drink our drinks so fast. When we did receive our food it was just okay. I have been coming to bayou for at least 8 years. When I first ate there, the food was great. Zydeco wings were the best wings I have ever had. Now the wings are smaller and the zydeco sauce is oily. Even their salads were great at the beginning. Now their salads prices are going up and quality is going down. The wings are expensive too. Why the hell are we paying 18 dollars for only 10 wings, plus it doesn't even come with a side. The last 2 - 3 years they have slowly been declining. Honestly, it's like every third or fourth visit that truly enjoy either the food or the service. I've never had a time when everything just clicked. The place is dark, dirty, and kind of a shithole really. I can't say much other than that. I say this as just a warning. It isn't gross, old, dirty, and Overton Square like. That's not necessarily a terrible thing, I eat at lots of dark and dirty places that I love. The servers range from bubbly and nice, then you can also get inefficient and forgetful, but wait, there are also a straight up assholes too! Me being an asshole, I just don't like competition, ya know. Anyway.... Why come back? It sure isn't the damn meatloaf special. It's terrible. If you read this far, consider yourself warned. Don't get the meatloaf!! I've fucked that up twice now! It's the damn Red Beans & Rice, and the Zydeco Wings, that keep this fat man arriving time and again. There is only one better RB&R in Memphis and the place rhymes with Feast Bend in the Southwind area. Zydeco wings are fantastic, but are now up to like $45 for 10 I think. Crawfish salad?? WRONG! Look again & you'll barely see bread under that generous serving of crunchy crustaceans, lettuce, tomato, & sauce. That's how they serve their Po' Boys. The crawfish breading had a great flavor with just the right amount of spice. The bread was soft but had a toasty crisp to it. My side of dirty rice was tasty & had a bit of heat behind it. I had a very disappointing experience. The char-grilled oysters were undercooked, the spinach dip was cold, the burger tasted like it came straight out of the freezer, the soda drinks were watery, and the chips were soggy instead of crisp. also, the hot sauce bottles didn't have tops on them. During the entire visit trivia was going on, which had our server completely distracted and all over the place. At that point, I stacked the food to the side and called it quits because it was clear the meal wasn't enjoyable. When I spoke with the manager, instead of trying to resolve the issue, I was told there was nothing he could do and that if I didn't pay the tab he would call the police. He said, "Sorry, but I'm not changing anything -- you've been here for hours." I explained that we had only been there about 30 minutes, but the conversation was still dismissed. The issue was never about paying. The issue was being served food and drinks that weren't properly prepared and then being brushed off when I spoke up. In my twelve years of owning restaurants, I would never feel comfortable speaking to a paying customer the way we were spoken to. Hospitality is about solutions, not shutdowns. If you expect quality food and professional service, I would suggest spending your money elsewhere because this experience did not reflect those standards. BRING BACK FRIED PICKLE SPEARS AND REAL MUFFULETTAS! Not terrible, but some of the changes under new management are not awesome. The "muffulettas" are a Po' Boy style which is just blasphemous. I used to drive out to Bayou regularly just for the muffulettas because they were the most authentic-like I could find in town. Got the Po' Boy version after the switch and noped it almost instantly. Doesn't even taste muffuletta-esque. My muffuletta obsessed nephew is not a fan either. And they removed fried pickle spears entirely?! Those were another of my favorite staples. I'm glad the restaurant was purchased so it could live on, but I much rather prefer the former menu. The Debris sandwich is good. It's all I get these days as my entree which is boring. The oyster prices got too high for such wimpy oysters so I only get those in a blue moon. I've had the alligator chili. It's good. Zydeco wings are probably one of the best things I've tried. The menu online is not exactly what you'll get in store. Would've loved the Crawfish Bisque posted on the website's menu, but it doesn't exist when you get there. read more

1 Star I was very disappointed with my visit. After being seated, our waitress brought our drinks and took our order right away. We sat for over an hour with no food and no refills on our beverages. When the waitress finally came back, she asked why we hadn't gotten our food. She went to the kitchen and came back saying our order had been pushed back and would take another 15 minutes. At that point, I said no thanks -- it was already too late to eat anywhere else on the strip. There was no apology or effort to make things right. Very poor service overall. I walked in the most smallest private parking lot. It was a bit tight as far as getting to the entrance when Memphis traffic isn't in a hurry. I got to the entrance and they also have a ramp which was easy accessibility. Which is a major plus for inclusivity. The ambiance was cozy, like New Orleans cozy. The music is a mix of everything. You have to wait to be seated not mad about that cause on a Wednesday night it was pretty lightly packed. Possibly a bit under staffed but I will NEVER complain about great service. I was seated very quickly. It took a minute for my server to come be cause she had 5 other tables. And the simple fact she could remember my order the whole night was amazing and impressive. My wife and I visited New Orleans a few weeks ago, and went on a Friday night, as it was recommended by a local, who is a jazz musician (guitar) as well. Had a great time here watching the Memphis Tigers vs Wichita state basketball game. The place had steady traffic which was great that it wasn't crowded. Most of the patrons were there to watch the game as well as have a great meal. We had the 1/4 muffaletta sandwich with a bowl of seafood gumbo soup and my friend Greg had the Bayou breakfast. We both had a great meal. The service was great and the atmosphere with the closeness of the game was amazing! Tried the Bayou Bar & Grill with some of my coworkers since they changed owners. I must say our waitress Destiny, was excellent great personality great attention to details. considering it was very busy that afternoon, and she was able to take care of her tables. We were all impressed. Our food came out. Everything was on point and the food was delicious. The only downside, was we didn't like the fact that we had to use plastic cups and plastic ware, but the upside to that it helps with cross contamination of glasses and utensils, but everything was great.
