Swamp Bar has the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to stay awhile. The vibe is great, there is plenty of seating, and the inside DJ keeps the energy going. One suggestion: the front patio could really benefit from some music. Even a low-volume speaker tied into the DJ's system would help create the same experience outside without disturbing the neighborhood. The biggest challenge is parking. Street parking is risky, and several visitors have learned the hard way that tickets are easy to get. Save yourself the headache and use the parking garage across the street for about $4. It's worth it compared to a $25 parking ticket. Unfortunately, service was the weakest part of the experience. The staff appeared overworked, overwhelmed, and likely short-staffed. While that is understandable, the customer experience suffered. There was very little interaction from greeters, servers, or bartenders. Guests are instructed to wait to be seated, but there was little guidance, communication, or assistance. Long waits and a lack of acknowledgment made the visit frustrating. Food was mixed. The wings and fries were excellent--so good they disappeared before there was time to take a picture. The spring rolls, however, were under-seasoned, slightly overcooked, and only two come with an order, which felt disappointing for the price. The dipping sauces helped, but the filling could have used more flavor. The standout of the night was the Smash It cocktail. Made with Suntory Toki whiskey, basil, lemon, simple syrup, and an absinthe rinse, it was refreshing, balanced, and absolutely delicious. Easily the highlight of the visit. Would I return? Yes. But next time I'll go with adjusted expectations: eat beforehand, enjoy the atmosphere, grab a cocktail, and consider anything else a bonus. Pro Tips: Order the Smash It cocktail. The wings and fries are worth trying. Park in the garage across the street. Don't expect fast service during busy times. If you're hungry, have a snack before you arrive. Great atmosphere and cocktails, but service and parking keep it from reaching its full potential. With better staffing and a little more attention to guests, this place could easily be a 5-star experience.
This place is soooo cute. Decorated very well and the service was fast and friendly! The food was great! If you want to try something new, get the alligator bites! They're yummy.
Another visit this time on a Saturday super chill vibes on the front patio. Francis was a very attentive server and ensured we had what we needed. As we were coming from somewhere else, I kept it simple with a Hugo Spritz and a sundae. Good vibes and great food and drinks.
I really have to stop coming here. The addiction is BAD! Get the SOUP DUMPLINGS, the green beans, Brussel sprouts and pad thai. Just a note, lately it's been packed during happy hour so just be mindful of that. Pack your patience! Vibes are still good though.

The bar itself is intimate with about 8 seats, so get there early if you want one. From the outside, the place looks like a literal house, but once you step inside it's a whole vibe: low lighting, great music, and nonstop food and drinks flowing. The bartenders were amazing--friendly, attentive, and clearly know what they're doing. We ordered wings, fries, Brussels sprouts, and spring rolls, plus a spicy margarita and French 75s. Every single thing hit. The food came out quick, fresh, and piping hot, and the drinks were perfectly balanced. By the time we left around 7 PM, the place was completely packed. This spot fills up fast for a reason. Can't wait to come back and work our way through more of the menu. Highly recommend--this is a must-visit.
I really love swamp bar for a lot of reasons. My husband has actually gone prior to me going with him and he thought I'd like it, which is true. Since the first time we went, I've gone two more times: once with him and another with a group of girlfriends. For one, I no longer consider myself a young professional, but I'm also not a seasoned professional quite yet. So, to me, swamp bar represents the type of place that people in their 30s-50s would want to meet us at third space after a long week at work. People, like me, who like to be both inside (but mostly inside and outside (in the new age sense) can come to let their hair down before bed time. The ambience, the eclectic decorations and seating options and the floaty music are the reason I go and I will continue to go. The menu is also a little eclectic, as well as the drinks. It's not quite for me, but others who I've gone with have enjoyed it. They do have a decent happy hour menu. I also like the patio area. I have not sat outside yet, but I do plan to, and it's not as hot outside. If you haven't gone yet, you're missing out.
Ordered the Rangoon App. They were flavorful, but a bit overdone for my taste. Ordered the Halibut. Served with a crawfish "gravy" over the top, spoon bread & some green beans. The halibut was cooked perfectly. The "gravy" was the best part of the meal. The spoon bread was so hard I couldn't eat but the top 1/4". The green beans had a good flavor, but seemed old or leftover. My server was AWESOME! The place had a cool vibe! Would try again.
Food = amazing. Drinks = even better. I finally got the chance to try Swamp Bar recently when they hosted an event with Teach901, and I'm so glad that I did! They have a beautiful restaurant side as well as a bar side which often has great DJs and a happy hour. The happy hour menu had some great options and I thought the prices were more than reasonable. I tried their wings, which, if you like buffalo wings, you will love. They also have great fries if you like to get a little something to share. Their spicy margarita is actually spicy AND strong, so that's my drink recommendation! As well as trying the outdoor bar, I also went into the restaurant side to sit and try more food. I do think the prices for food are a little high, but you can tell that the dishes are fresh and high-quality (I believe they get their noodles from Good Fortune downtown). For example, this noodle dish was $18 and it was just filling enough. I will go back to try more things because the food and drinks were great quality, and the ambiance exudes a funky New Orleans bar. Just be ready to drop some $!
Always a great vibe here. Happy hours are 5-8. Menu changes more frequently than I'd like but the staples have stayed to the most part. It gets pretty packed and busy at night
Date Night! Everything was amazing, and the vibe was New Yorkish, colorful, cute, and quaint! I loved it! We ordered drinks--The Ritual, Eve's Downfall, dirty martini, and Joe's Old Fashioned--and food: Korean Wings, Korean Braised Short Rib, and Fried Rice with crawfish and pork belly!! The service was fast and attentive!

Their drink specials run until 8 PM (the latest in town!), and the deals are A+! though heads up, they don't do food specials.. sad face. I kicked things off with a house margarita (solid choice), followed by a vodka Sprite, while my boyfriend went for a $3 Stella. We planned on grabbing food anyway, so we ordered the Creole Rangoon and the fried rice with crawfish & pork belly--both were chef's kiss! Would absolutely get them again. You get 5 Rangoon, and because we told them we were sharing the fried rice, they even split it for us! gosh, so nice! Now, a couple of things to note: No parking lot, but you can find street parking right on the same road. It gets BUSY. We snagged the last indoor table, and it was loud--so if you're looking for a chill, quiet night, this might not be your vibe for the night. Overall, great drinks, great food, and a fun atmosphere! Just be ready for the crowd.
Coming from St. Louis and I read the reviews- this IS the best happy hour in Memphis! Prices unbeatable for the quality and quantity of drink. Their bar chips are delicious and their fries appear to be hand cut! Didn't get photos of our snacks because we ate them so fast. The dip with the bar chips was scrape the bowl good. My husband and I took advantage of the patio. We had a very friendly server with fast service of drinks and apps.

If you're looking for something different in Memphis, put Swamp Bar on your list. It's an Asian + Creole fusion spot, and I'm always down to try something I haven't had before. I ordered the Yakamein, which is a New Orleans staple, and y'all... that broth alone was GOOD! I could've honestly just sat there with the broth. The flavor was definitely there. They also have a pretty good happy hour Wednesday-Sunday from 5-8 PM with house wine, well drinks, margaritas and beers, so that's something to keep in mind if you're trying to grab a drink and some food without spending too much. Wednesdays they have a DJ, too. You can check their lineup to see who's playing, just know there is a cover charge. Parking tip: I would park in the parking garage. It's usually around $3-$5 depending on the date and time, and honestly, that's better than driving around looking for parking. Also, Swamp Bar is 21+ and it's first come, first served, so keep that in mind before you go. Overall, I enjoyed the vibe and definitely think it's worth checking out if you like trying different food and you're tired of eating at the same spots in Memphis. read more

My birthday is tomorrow, so decided to have a drink this evening and try a new spot. Super cute decor and nice tables and seats. We had the avocado toast, Swampburger, fries and some margaritas. First, ask for the margs spicy, they are fantastic. Hubs loved the swampburger and fries. Avocado toast was ok? But I have some thoughts. It's not toast. They use po' boy bread, which is nice, but thick. That was fine, but then they smother it in sweet chili sauce to call it Thai. Don't drown your fresh ingredients with sugar! Just put some fresh, thin slices of jalapeño, maybe some micro greens or more fresh herbs, and sesame seeds. The sugary chili sauce is ok in a tiny amount, but the drown is bad. The fries are good, but could be crispier. I think the oil isn't hot enough. Overall, we would come back here! Service was fantastic and the margs are delish. read more
Small restaurant, very cute! Hip hop music playing quietly in the background, and the place quickly filled up by 5pm. We came during happy hour and ordered the $5 margaritas which were excellent. The service was mid & so was the food. The Korean wings were a bit soggy but had a decent flavor. The roast was just roast. Overall not bad but nothing to write home about. read more
This little gem is located right next to Second Line in Midtown. The interior is very cute! We came here for dinner on a Friday evening and they weren't that busy so we were seated right away. We ordered the Crawfish & Crab Rangoon and Korean Red Sauce Wings for apps, both were delicious! The wings were my favorite. For my entree I got the Crawfish Pad Thai, I was taken back by how "saucy" and creamy it was at first but the flavor was fantastic and I ended up liking it a lot. My husband got the Yakamein and boy was it salty! The broth reminded me of birria stew that you dip your tacos in, while the flavor was nice but it was way too salty. Our friend got the Pork Belly Banh Mi, the pork was well marinated and very tender, not as fatty as I expected which I liked. Overall it was a great experience and I'm looking forward to trying out their brunch next time! read more

The food and the ambience is absolutely brilliant. You'd never guess walking up to it that it's so gorgeous inside. Great music played over an excellent sound system. We loved our entrees - desserts were honestly just okay, but the entrees make it a non-negotiable that you have to go here for dinner. One weird thing - they don't have coffee. It would be a great ending to a great meal. read more
Service and ambiance are top tier. Bartenders and servers are very attentive, fast, careful, and patient. They have that in the bag kudos to that team. I've only had two dishes there and recommend the wings no matter what! They have one of the better happy hours in town, but the bar fills FAST! The vibes here are always amazing! The playlist is crowd friendly with a little of everything. The bartenders Sam, Joe & Rose are amazing at their craft! Ive been going since it was just a pop up and I enjoy the evolution of the seasonal menu. Ole Sober is an amazing meal with the shrimp/grits with braised greens being my runner up meal of choice. read more

Okay so I've been here twice. The ambience and vibe has always been good. Very instagrammable with beautiful decor. 90s-00s music millennials will love. Beautiful 20 and 30 somethings. But the first time I was here the service was so slow because there was only one bartender and when my food (short ribs) finally came out, it was cold. They replaced it with blackened redfish which was absolutely delicious. Returned tonight and ambience was still great but the redfish and my friends burger were mid at best. The coconut sauce on the snapper was as flavorless as the snapper itself (my friend described it as Lean Cuisine), and my friends burger and fries gave soggy after work Steak N Shake. I love me some Kelly English (my husband in my mind since 2012, so I been down bad--he won my love off the OG Iris surf and turf with the blue cheese) so ima chalk it up to an off night but dang, someone tell me what taste bomb on this menu cause I want to love the food here as much as I love Second Line and Iris! read more

Put the correct business hours on the website. I just drove 20 minutes to find out from a chalkboard sign that they close at 12 pm. It's Thursday at 1 pm. Your website says it is open until 3 pm. WTF? read more

Cool, looking place right beside the second line. Had the Creole Rangoon highly recommended! Also had the Creole Full English Breakfast and the Black Pepper Candied Bacon -- everything was great Service was nice, music was interesting but a little loud in some areas. read more
