Offering some of the areas talented pianists on the keys. Playing your favorite classic hits like Piano Man Tiny Dancer & other covers from a wide range of genres from Blues Rock and R&B. Sometimes they have the ability to play other instruments & will do so. I've been here & seen some of the pianists switch over from the keys to the strings. The vocal quality can vary from artist to artist who are singing along with the piano. If you want to hear something feel free to fill only request and drop it in the bowl. Tipping is also encouraged as they work hard for your entertainment pleasure. #Supportlocalmusic The Zebra Lounge offers a fairly nice variety of Beer Wine & a couple of Champagne choices. I love the Ambiance of this place being dark lit & has a little bit of and a lounge feel. Remember to tip your bar tenders & they'll take care of you. Katie is definately awesome along with the other one who works with her I forgot her name. But they're the best. #ShowSomeLove read more

We stopped in for drinks after dinner. Briana was our bartender and she was awesome! Great personality, great drinks and the lounge had a great spooky vibe for Halloween! We'll definitely be back! read more

This place is fun! We went on a night when they had pianos going. Drinks were poured strong and tasted great. It was surprisingly quiet when we went. I'd love to go on a busy night. This place has so much potential! read more

Cozy little piano bar where you can listen to good music and grab a cocktail. You can submit song requests to the piano player. Great for groups or a date night. Hoping for more seating. This really adds to Overton Square's charm. #Yelp901 read more

No Food but Good strong drinks and bartender was on point. The crowd was a blended crowed of age and race range from 25 to 50+ very diverse. Music was fairly Diverse but mostly hip hop, pop, rnb. This is exactly what Memphis needs. Positivity. On front. Stop in for a quick drink and meet up spot to start your bar hoping night or end it on a good drink. read more

First time here and only stopped by because of a friends recommendation. The lounge is cute but that's where the positive ends. The bartenders were slow and not very friendly. Stood at the bar for a number of minutes and after the bartender made eye contact for like the 5th time, she finally asked if I needed a drink. David and Adam were on the pianos.. they were okay but didn't engage with the crowd. Isn't that the point of a piano bar? We've been here for an hour and over 90% of the crowd has left. Not a way to handle a Friday night, especially the one right after Thanksgiving. read more

The Zebra Lounge - people sitting at a bar - Lounges Near Me - Memphis, Tennessee

So i visited the infamous Zebra lounge everyone's been talking about tonight thats based out in Chicago. Its a pretty cool and cozy piano bar in midtown thats only been open for about 2 wks now. As you walk in the piano is dead center with patrons actually sitting right in front of the piano bar. Seating is around 10 at the piano bar itself and possibly 50-60 max seating throughout the entire establishment. There is one bar to the right and the bartenders were pretty nice and attentive while we were there. Music being played was good and i liked it. You can request songs if the pianist can sing and play it of course. Not too shabby and i can't wait to see what they have in store in the coming months. read more

The Zebra Lounge - Loungin - Lounges Near Me - Memphis, Tennessee

It's a decent place to go hang out if better venues are too packed. There was a lack in customer service for sure, and the atmosphere was nothing special for a Friday night. The bartenders were clearly in a bad mood and not attentive to their patrons. I sat at a near empty bar for about 8-10 minutes before being asked if I wanted a drink. And the bartender walked off as I told her what I would like. The beer selection is slim. Domestics with a few local crafts. Mixed drinks are overpriced, but isn't that the norm these days? There's only a one-person bathroom so beware of long waits. The pianist was pretty good, though didn't play much while we were there. I'd really like to see the attitude of the staff improve. There is great potential here. read more

The Zebra Lounge - Lounges Near Me - Memphis, Tennessee

Last night was I my first time going to the Zebra Lounge. Though the atmosphere was ok, the lounge is very cheap. Cheap furniture, cheap look. The drinks were well over priced. I can't believe they charge $7.45 for a well drink. All other places are only $5-$6. I found the overall layout of the lounge a little awkward. They could do better. The bar area is ok. Recommendations: Get a real piano. Get better quality furniture. Change those god awful-over head zebra lamps. Lower your drink prices. If you haven't been just check it out. It's not for everyone. read more

Cute little late night chill spot. The piano playing is awesome and the drinks are good! A little small but good!. If they had food that would be awesome but if you just want some drinks and to hear a little dancing music, stop by! read more

After our original plans got dropped, we were scrambling to find something to do. We were from out of town and had no idea where would be fun for a 23 and 25 year old. We asked a couple and they sent us to Overton Square - we picked a random drop-off point for our uber and this happened to be it. Once seeing it was a piano bar, I was hesitant to go inside...thinking it was going to be a snoozefest. However, I was pleasantly surprised!! The music was amazing, the drinks were good, and the pianist played 90's hits, Bruno Mars, and John Legend. We ended up staying all night. Great place! read more

My new fav place! I can't believe the negative reviews about Zebra! I understand it's small (I call it cozy and it reminds me of posh lounges in NYC) and doesn't offer food, but hello Memphians, Overton Square is full of restaurants so eat before or after you come!! And enjoy the free nuts and pretzels. There is a pianist every night of the week for the entertainment and if you pay enough, they play your song right away! It's a classic piano bar and I LOVE it! Can't think of a better way to end a night out than screaming the lyrics to my favorite songs! And prices are on par with most bars in the area. I drink champagne so spend $8, but it's no more pricy than other local spots. If you haven't been yet, it's a must! read more

I've been excited about this place for months and am so disappointed. The location is prime and this place has so much potential that fell flat. The ambience is not "loungey" at all - super cheap tables and banquet hall seats, the booths seem ok but I was expecting some nice chairs and upscale furnishings. Also, the floor is tile, maybe it's for the music acustics but it looks cheap. Drinks are very limited and no prices listed, not a good sign. I didn't buy my drink and it felt rude to ask so not sure of the prices. Also, it didn't appear that there are any food offerings, is that legal in TN? It's such a shame because the concept is great and the actual piano player is good. I recommend this as a one drink pre or post dinner stop but not your destination for the night. I'm keeping my fingers crossed the owners invest in making this place a hot hangout spot but for now meh describes it all too well. read more

I see some negative reviews, but I had a positive experience. In fact, I have been twice. I love going to places with live music. At the tables, they have free salty snacks. I can't complain about that. It's a small and intimate venue. And there's no cover, so like McD I'm lovin' it. They don't have any other food, but that's not a problem. Eat before. I enjoyed the music. The drinks were nice and strong. My only mystery is that I haven't figured out the drink prices. I have ordered the same thing multiple times and my price varies. The cheapest was $4 for a whiskey and water. I think it also was $6.50 once. I'm not sure if it varies based on bar vs table price. Anyway, it's not expensive. There's live music with no cover! read more

I went on Friday May 13th. The bartenders are unprofessional and rude! I asked for a Cape Cod drink, the bartender didn't know the term and asked me what the ingredients were... the second bartender didn't know the ingredients to a Old fashion drink. Definitely will not be going back for their disorganized amateur hour!!! read more

A group of my friends and I decided to stop by this bar since it had just opened and I must say I was disappointed. The lounge is very small but we were able to get a table. We had 2 very inexperienced waiters, a guy and a girl. The girl even commented that she had never made a cosmo before when my friend ordered one, but she would try her best. You don't tell people that! Apparently my group wasn't feeling the atmosphere either because after one drink, everyone was ready to go to the next location. We proceeded to close our tabs, and it took 20 minutes to get the check. We spent a couple of hours at another place in midtown. On the way to my car, I check my bank account and realize that The Zebra Lounge has charged my $28.04 for my $5.00 beer. I immediately go back to the lounge to figure out the problem, thinking I may have been charged for my friend's drink by accident. I show them my receipt and the lady tells me that they put a hold on your account if you open up a tab. WHAT? Why didn't anyone tell me this before they ran my card? I would have paid the $5 upfront instead of having my money tied up for one drink. She then assured me that the charge would clear on Tuesday (today) and I would be charged $6.00. WRONG! Checked my account today and I have been charged $10 for a $6 tab. I will never visit this place again and will encourage my friends not to as well. read more

Live music 7 nights a week... what more could someone want in the birthplace of rock and roll?! Located in a very popular spot in Midtown. Only open at night and offers libations... don't come hungry ;) Ps. For those wondering - yes it's legal to not offer a food menu, they have mixed nuts & pretzels. Why do you need more?! Whether it's a Tuesday or Saturday you can expect to find friendly bartenders & good tunes. read more

We stopped in for a night cap after leaving another event and overall really enjoyed ourselves. The bartender was very friendly and attentive. I really loved the low-key, cozy atmosphere. It's nice to be able to sit back and have a conversation without feeling like your screaming at the top of your lungs. The place was kind of dead, but it was a Monday night around 8:45 p.m. The bartender told us things really start to pickup on the weekdays around 10 p.m. My only gripe is the mixed drink prices seemed a little high for the area. I'm looking forward to going back on a weekend night and see what the vibe is like. Seems like a great place to finish off an evening on the Square. read more

I had high expectations for this place. The atmosphere was nice but the music was not good (the guy didn't know the words to half the songs) and the drinks were mediocre. The trail mix was stale also. It was busy so maybe it was just my luck. May give it another try. read more

Older crowd but fun guy playing the piano. WAY overpriced. Regretted stopping here... Cute idea but not worth it. read more

The Zebra Lounge - One martini = $14.75 - Lounges Near Me - Memphis, Tennessee

I like this place! I have a good time every time I come (been about 5-6x). The drinks aren't super high and the crowd is fun. Except for the one time some ignorant drunk woman told some men "go home faggots" but my happiness was restored when she was put out! Bad vibes aren't allowed here! The singers/keyboardist are cool, they're not there every night and I'm not sure what particular nights they are. I'd definitely check this place out if you're looking for a low key, dark spot to chill out, be goofy and have a drink. Just leave your ignorance at home if you wanna stay to party! read more

Looking for a new watering hole to relax in? Look no further! The zebra lounge is a lovely well-kept secret (for now). It's a cool piano bar, the music is super pleasant, NOT TOO LOUD to be able to talk to your friends, and they take requests! I love the vibe (they got that perfect level of dim lighting), and I would highly recommend it. The owner is an amazing lady, takes very good care of all her customers. read more

The musicians are loud and amateurish. Their songs obscene, redneck and rude. My boyfriend and I won't go back to this place. It's an overpriced watering hole with no food. read more

Very small intimate type place. I enjoyed the lady singing and playing the piano. But it was too congested and small for me. No cover. I did not have a drink so I can't tell you about them. I would go back if I was invited in a group. read more

What a nice neat addition to the Cooper Young District. Man this was a cool night! Our bartender was Eillen who has a father with ALS, the night I went she put all proceeds towards her dads medical bills which I mean come on you just can't not donate!! We had some tequila and lime juice and she hooked it up! The restrooms were neat and its live music! I love live music. They had some different people switching in and out on the piano, just classic good vibes music. The prices for drinks were also really good for a bar in Overton square. Some places can get pretty pricey out there. Everyone was awesome and very friendly! It's cooler young I mean come on its where all the hipster and cool down to earth people are! They also had free bar snacks( Chex mix ) if you haven't already been to the zebra lounge you have to see it! read more

How have I not heard of this place before?!? Came here after dinner at Bari the other night. Walking in, I immediately noticed how warm it was - MAJOR PLUS in my book! I'm usually freezing, which makes drinking cold beverages less appealing. Enjoyed the music, the people-watching (two girls there dressed for a photo shoot with National Geographic, if ya know what I mean...lettin' it all hang out...), and the energy. Very impressed with the repertoire of the piano guy - Bon Jovi, Johnny Cash, the inevitable Billy Joel... Great way to end an evening out! read more

The Zebra Lounge - Piano Bar is awesome! Fun great drinks. - Lounges Near Me - Memphis, Tennessee

I would rate with a negative star if I could. The drinks are ridiculously expensive. My friends and I went there for my birthday and they charged us EACH $22.00 for a drink and shot. I ordered an old fashion and it was the worst drink I've had in my life. They only have four drinks on their menu, so they better be damn good in my opinion. The only thing good about the place was the staff was friendly but had no idea what they were doing. read more

Not really sure why you'd choose this bar over the many good ones in the area. It's cheap looking and dingy. The drinks are offensively watered down. No food offerings. Music is so loud you can't hear yourself think. I grew up in rock clubs, so the noise isn't the issue. It's the unnecessary volume of it in such a small space. Only good thing about this place was that the very talented Brennan Villenes was playing. Without him I wouldn't have lasted 20 mins read more

Went to the Zebra when I was in Memphis on business last week. It has a great atmosphere, fantastic live entertainment and great drinks. It's an intimate place, where conversation comes easy--I wouldn't hesitate to come here by myself. This is a great addition to the Cooper Young area. I'll be back! read more

I enjoy myself here. I'm never there very long but they have decent price tequila shots and I enjoy the piano.

This place would have gotten 4 stars if I hadn't been there Friday night. Usually if is a fun up-beat atmosphere. The musician Friday night seemed to be stuck in this mellow, sad music. That's all she played. It was pretty disappointing because we were there to party not cry. read more

I went here last year for their Halloween party and found the Zebra Lounge to be a nice enjoyable bar with a good music selection. The bartender made a very good Old Fashioned, the only downside was the fact they do not have a tap system for beer. That would have taken my experience to the next level, but I still had a great time here. read more

The bartenders always call people by name. The atmosphere is sexy, and the drinks are extremely reasonable. For after dinner drinks it is absolutely fabulous. No food. No frills. Just friendly bartenders and a pianist that plays all night long. Love to Eileen, the fiesty blonde. read more

I think the concept and style of this bar is absolutely wonderful and unique, and there truly isn't any place else like it in memphis. If the people don't know about it or don't love it already, they certainly will! The relaxed ambiance within the room is beautiful and perfectly set to complement the beautifully lit bar. I am pretty much most excited about the piano player concept. So much fun. This place quite an eclectic and exciting new lounge and exactly what cooper young needed. So glad that it's finally open! My new go to spot for sure! read more
