Well, I hate doing two star reviews. This was definitely a night. I won't soon forget. When we…read morearrived, parking was horrible. The pay parking lot for Minglewood Hall was completely full. The pay lots all around minglewood hall were also full. We drove two blocks in each direction and was having trouble trying to find somewhere to park. We finally seen other people parking at a closed Baskin And Robbins, one street over. We didn't see any no parking signs. This was gonna be our only option. By the time we got parked and in line. It was getting very close to show time. There was a line out the door and it was moving very slow. They were having trouble scanning tickets. Their scanners were not working, so they were sending people to a window, to get paper tickets. We finally got in and seated. The show obviously started a little late. I have only been to Minglewood Hall one other time and my experience then was also less than stellar. The seating was just fold up chairs. They were so uncomfortable! A tallboy beer was $12! My son and I both love Brad Williams. I figured it would be a great to spend some time with him and see a good show. Although Brad Williams and his openers were great! This would turn out to be quite a bad night for us. When the show was over, we headed out to where we had parked. As we were getting close to the car, we seen about 20 other people. They were just standing aroung in the cold looking confused. At that point, we realized all the cars had been towed. In my opinion, this is why people don't come to Memphis for shows or anything. Way to much greed! The parking always sucks! Come to find out PB & J towing sits around the corner and waits on everyone to enter the show. Then they start towing people. If you do a quick search for them on here, you will see that they are very predatory in their practice. They have been sued and reprimanded by the BBB. I'm not sure how a place like this continues to do business in Memphis. That will be for another upcoming review. I know this is not completely Minglewood Hall's fault. But if you know, you don't have enough parking for the amount of sold tickets. You should try to work with your neighbors or warn people. I mean, come on, it was a Sunday night! The Baskin-Robbins was closed. We looked around and finally seen two very small signs on the other side of the lot that just said PB & J towing with a number. When you call the number, it just goes to a voicemail or disconnects. They are closed on Sundays! We had to Uber all the way back to Southaven, Mississippi. The Uber driver told us this is a every weekend thing. He picks people up all the time from PB&J towing in this area. Needless to say, I won't be going back to Minglewood Hall for anything. This ended up being a very expensive night!

Great live music, good vibes, drinks always flowing, and prices that won't break the bank. What more could you ask for? Now, let's talk about these cover charges! I visited last year and don't recall paying a cover. This time around, I stopped by on Wednesday with no cover charge, but when I returned Thursday and Friday, there was a fee to get in. Naturally, I asked about it and was told they charge a cover 365 days a year. Well, that clearly wasn't my experience, considering I had JUST been there Wednesday without paying one. LOL. I don't mind paying to support live music, but let's at least be consistent with the information we're giving customers. Nonetheless, I sucked it up, paid the cover, and enjoyed myself! The musicians were fantastic, the energy was on point, and the atmosphere was everything you'd expect from a true Memphis blues joint. Cover charge confusion aside, Blues Hall remains one of my favorite stops whenever I'm in Memphis. HIGHLY recommended, especially if you appreciate authentic blues and a good time. I'll definitely be back!

The service was great even though we were all struggling to understand each other over the music. That is not a negative, it's a comment on how great the music is! I didn't try the food so I'm basing my review on the drink selection. They were out of a few draft beer options that night and the cocktail menu is limited. Outside of that though, we had an absolute blast here and I'd make this a regular stop any time I visit Memphis in the future.

I sat at the bar, and my bartender did not miss a beat. Even though I was dining alone, she continued to check on me and made sure I was taken care of throughout the evening. I got to enjoy two different bands, and both were amazing! However, the final performance was definitely my favorite. Her voice was both soothing and powerful, and when she started singing Tina Turner, all I could do was smile. What an incredible performance! Now, let's talk about the ribs! They were delicious, full of flavor and literally falling off the bone. The baked beans were good, although they didn't blow me away. The green beans, however, were a miss for me. I think they were trying to do too much with them; sometimes simple is better. Overall, I had a wonderful experience. The live music, atmosphere, and those ribs made this accidental stop well worth it. I'm definitely glad I ended up here, and I would absolutely recommend checking this place out, especially if you enjoy live music and good barbecue!

There was a $10 cover which I was told goes to support the band. The restaurant seems to be pretty big. It looks like it's 2 stories. I sat at the main bar on the first floor. Service was terrible. The bartender was very inattentive and acted like she had a giant chip on her shoulder. I ordered the ribs and a local draft lager. The food and drinks were very good. I was hoping for a Memphis dry rub, but they were doused in bbq sauce. The ribs weren't as good as what you can probably find at other places in Memphis, but they had good flavor. The baked beans were very sweet and watery. The coleslaw was great. The live band was amazing. That night it was the BB King All-Stars. They played a wide variety of musical genres spanning several decades. One song was so good, I was brought to tears. Overall, I had a decent time. The live band saved the night for me. I went on a slow Tuesday night in September, so there really wasn't much open on Beale St to choose from.

Event staff pleasant and efficient...no outside food or water allowed at this point...and they check! Seating currently is at half capacity...which is cool. Food trucks and 3 bars that i noticed (limited drink menu but covers the basics with one "speciality" drink)...event could benefit from a little more food truck variety in the cuisine-last night there were 3/4 "mexican variation"...nothing really "lite" plate... minimal if at all, veg or vegan. Soundcheck...we were "front row"...a little too close to really be a valid judge...it was great...but vocals sometimes got lost in the instruments from where i sat - not an accoustic critique at all so you know. Parking was the bomb...honestly, i was having heart palpitations driving over...been to these things before where you cannot get out sometimes until "everyone" leaves and its dark thirty and your car finally frees up...NOT the case here...beautifully executed...in and out was easy / breezy!! Music there has a hard stop at 9:30...its an enjoyable early summer evening of entertainment and fresh air...in "the garden". So plan ahead...Great Summer line-up, get your tickets today

This was the first time attending a show. Dennis DeYoung of STYX fame (another Chicagoan, just gotta' say) put on an incredible show, made even better by the garden surroundings and fireworks. We purchased the "Lawn" tickets, a real bargain as large screens provide a great view. The sound system was high quality at comfortable levels. As you would expect, not a rowdy crowd. In my estimate most qualified for an AARP membership, not a bad thing though. These people are experts at living (you will likely see your dentist in the crowd for example) I always mocked whatever GM vehicle, road-tripping past me on the Interstate with a "hanging clothes bar" across the vacant back seat; then I got one, these people are GENIUSES! Apologies for the life experience tangent. Suuuuper laid back. Coolers full of snacks and adult beverages are welcome inside after an inspection. We went to Memphis' new Trader Joe's (finally) and loaded up on treats. If you have a cooler with wheels, or a wagon, bring it for the long walk. Folding chairs, blankets, insect repellent, sunscreen, some had little battery operated fans to stay cool. If you don't feel like carrying in food and drinks, vendors are on site to sell everything you need. Parking was free (check the maps re: the lot locations). TIP: Back into your parking space, makes it easier to get out, and farther is better, as you are nearer the exit. Hope to catch another show here! Approved!
