We stopped in for some live music and a drink following our Graceland tour Sunday around 3pm. This is a music venue and bar. We didn't end up spending time here because there was a $10 per person cover for whatever musician was playing that evening. Since we were only interested in a drink we opted to pass on the required cover. Bummer about cover for a 7pm show. We would have loved to check it out more. From what we could see from the entry area, it was a dark and "intimate" space (small). read more

Dolly sh@t on my number so the Lonestar Troubadour gave me a bunch of money right out of his pocket. I was so happy that I gave it to the band since the music was so awesome. Also got my teeth whitened by the world's greatest beer. It was the best night of my life- don't tell my wife! Only regret is that I should have tried the jalapeno pickled eggs. read more

So much potential but such poor execution. . . . went on a Saturday night at 6pm to hear a favorite musician and band. It's is close to Memphis, easy to get to, easy parking, cool venue and a great place to hear music. But. . . One server (in the entire place) with zero hustle. They were only serving 4 types of [lukewarm] beer -- nothing else. Tried to order food but they were out of pretty much everything listed on the menu. One set of bathrooms were out of order, so there was only a single per gender. No toilet paper or paper towels, I asked for (and got) TP but was told "we're all out of paper towels, sorry." [So how are they washing their hands in the kitchen or behind the bar . . . .?] Automatic 20% gratuity, which was way more than I would have given. It was either a perfect storm of a really bad Saturday night (it happens) or an indicator that the business isn't going to be around long (a shame). read more

Point of view: Elvis survived, aged, and took a job singing at the P&H. This is the feel of the world-famous Hernando's Hideaway. In a very unassuming location off of Elvis Presley Boulevard, just two blocks off of i-240, Hernando's is tucked away from the main road. The feel immediately, upon walking in is honky-tonk meets dive bar. Warm amber lights and colorful accent lights tickle the senses and hug the soul. The bar has friendly staff and servers, and touts his own fantastic cocktail menu. (Try the TCB, it's like foreplay in a glass.) This was my first foray to this new-to-me venue, to enjoy some friends performing drag to classic country songs. I understand they have music on the regular, and after the drag show the house band picked up and carried the energy to the end of the night. I will have to research the bands that are coming up, because I think if they are rock and roll enough I can even convince my husband to come out with me! The food was pretty basic, I was really hoping to get a peanut butter banana and bacon sandwich that was on the old menu, but the updated menu is a little slimmer. My friend's chicken sandwich was well seasoned and a little spicy. She said don't get the spicy because the original is plenty flavorful. Jalapeno poppers and fried pickles were edible. Parking is free, single-stall bathrooms are clean, and the service is so friendly you will feel right at home. Reservations online are recommended to claim good seats for performances. read more

I don't know about being world famous, but this place does have a lot of Memphis history. Recently reopened as a salute to the past. The owners did a fantastic job restoring Hernando's Hideaway to the was it was back in the day. The waitresses, bartenders and owner were all very friendly and great at their jobs. The food - FANTASTIC! We had the Cuban sandwich and the Philly cheesesteak. The Cuban was really good and the Philly was amazing. Live music on the weekend. If you are looking for a great place to play a friendly game of pool, listen to live music, have a drink and a bite to eat with a dive bar feel, this is your place. read more

This place was so fun! We went on an evening to listen to live music, but when arrived the power had gone out. With the power out, we received drink service and played pool under a flood light. There is a cover for the live music, but so worth it for the quality of musicians. Drinks were delicious and enjoyed the atmosphere and decor. Always a memorable evening. read more

This is a diamond in the rough. I was there on Wednesday which is honky to know night. Dale Watson, an older country musician, owns the place and it was his show. The band was supplemented by local jamming talent. Most who has a good country pedigree. Hey it Memphis. Outstanding show, good drinks, and good food. I had BBQ wings that were first braised in Dr Pepper. The downside was the menu was lacking as they were short on business as they have just opened back up from COVID. Hopes this one survives as I plan on returning. read more

This place is making history, literally. We were there for the presentation of the temporary historical marker, it was a lively place back in the day and been brought back in all it's roaring glory today. It is a must visit in Memphis for anyone who loves original and classic music. We went over several days and had a variety of menu items along with listening to some really great music. Some of the things we enjoyed were the Cubano, chicken and waffles, the Hag and Ameripolitan (burgers), a very good corn dog, tasty sides and a great little sandwich called the Thank You Very Much, all hit the spot. These were complimented by delicious cocktails, local Wiseacre beer and yummy sweet tea. Hands down BEST BURGER in Tennessee!! The prices are reasonable and the decor is just right, lots to see on those walls, many different seating areas for any occasion, mine just happened to be hearing classic and original roots music (Ameripolitan) and Chicken S&@t Bingo, ya gotta play this game. Their kitchen was open till late, making it "one stop shopping" for us! The staff are friendly and really nice people!! They keep the place clean and the bathroom well stocked, important on a busy (or any other) night. The history of the place is amazing and you can be a part of making history once more. I was so excited for this place to open and they did not disappoint! Let's just throw it out there. I was worried about it's location on Elvis Presley and Brooks, but I had no issues. It's literally right up the street from Graceland! They are open 12pm-2am everyday! Kitchen is open til 1am. When i drove up to the simple white building and not knowing what's inside was killing me. The parking lot is huge but not paved so beware if you are wearing heels that might sink down. Then I opened the door! It was like I stepped back in time to a time which appreciates the honky tonk live music sound. I can't believe this is so close to where I live. 2 hours worth of driving this better be good:) With a full stocked bar and loaded menu how could you go wrong. The Happy Hour is $3 drinks and $5 hamburger and fries! By the way, girl bar staff rocks! While I enjoyed an Ameropolitian Burger and Fries, since it was Sunday they had free hotdogs and Chicken Sh!t Bingo! They do this every Sunday! The bathrooms were clean and decorated in Johnny and June. I love this place and the atmosphere. I really have nothing negative to say about it! Get your butt there if you go to Memphis, you will not be disappointed. Make sure you buy a T-shirt and I didn't but I'm gonna do it on my next visit! read more

I love this hip, warm and fun bar. This bar has something for everyone! It is a true gem. The best live music! A little piece of heaven where rock a billy and traditional country music both are played! Jitterbug and two stepping are always the dance of choice! Great drinks and outstanding food! You never know who might show up to bang on the piano (keyboard) or take over the microphone! Go tour Graceland during the day and hang out at Hernando's for the night. Fun bar with good music. Don't come expecting to see cover bands. Also have a pretty damn good burger.

Hernando's is a great music Venue which would be a 5 star rating however the food SUCKS so I would give it 1 star and that's being generous... The food is cold, salty I mean very salty and tasteless. And to cap It off over priced. I've eaten there it several times and each time the same crap... Staff are great they just need to get new chef and menu or at least improve the food. read more

The only reason I'm giving this 4 stars instead of 5 is bc my review is based solely on take out orders. I have not actually been to the bar or dined in. That being said I have picked up food from Hernandos on my way home from work just about every week for the past 3 weeks. We've tried the burgers, fries, philly & fish & chips over the course. The burgers are phenomenal! Probably the best my husband & I have had since moving to the area several years ago. The philly is also one of the best I've has since moving here & that should mean something coming from a northeast coast native. We had the bacon, cheddar, ranch fries. Also very good, with real(crispy) bacon peices but I think $7.50 is a bit high a price for them. My husband was the only one that ate the fish & chips. They were the only thing that wasnt liked so far. His comment was that it "tasted off or old." But that's fine, we are more than happy to stick with the burgers. I'm dying to try the pretzel bun burger! read more

This is my new favorite bar. Patrick and Dale have pulled off restoring this Memphis original to new glory. It pulls off being both classic and chic. I have sampled much of the menu and everything is excellent and fresh. So far the cubano sandwich is my favorite. The staff is always friendly and Patrick makes you feel right at home. This place was just what I needed. Visiting from austin all I wanted was a low key dive. Found it. Filled wIth 50's Americana rock n roll gems. The outside looks like a great place to get into a knife fight - the inside is a perfect scene out of a Wes Anderson movie. The menu was surprisingly vast and the service was solid. Cold beer. Seems like it could be a pretty chill place. Mostly had a good vibe. Except... The owner was at the bar drinking and was a little weird. He made me a little uncomfortable. Later my friend said the same thing. I'm glad it wasn't just me! Lol The bartender was great! Prices were good. My only drink complaint would be that tequila should either be served at room temperature or cold from the freezer. NEVER shaken to chill. It waters it down. Any seasoned bartender knows that but this bartender was still really nice and fairly fast with service. Three stars because the owner made us uncomfortable (and he was kind of a loud mouth lol) and the tequila was shaken to chill. I might not have minded if it were $6 shots but these were $11 a piece.
